Ralph Peters: 'Does Iran Want War'?

Ralph Peters continues to be one of the more common sense voices on the War against Jihad. Here, he examines the possibilities of war with Iran.

Well, "if" is not a question anymore but "when".

Some people have talked about an October Surprise' by the Bush Administration, to coincide with the November midterm Congressional elections.

I'm not saying I agree with this, just passing it on.

That column by Peters was one of the most irrational, fear-mongering pieces I've read in a while. He sounds like a card-carrying member of PNAC. Just another of the neo-con, let's-go-conquer-the-world nut cases.

I wonder if you're also known as Write_on, in another format?

I don't think Peters is at all irrational, if you look at the evidence. You can't discount the Islamist mindset here. Iran may very well be seeking a confronation with the West in order to bring on dar Islam worldwide under the 12th `hidden' Imam. Ahamadinejad has said as much!

I also hope you read my post about the new 155,000 centrifuge secret nuke site Iran is building..and those missing 250 Ukrainian warheads that the Russians think went to Iran instead of being turned back in to the Russians.

As for the PNAC `neocon' stuff..
I consider that to be tinfoil hat material.Sorry, really.

I don't accuse you of having these sentiments, but lots of people who use that lingo tend to say `neocon' when what they really mean is something along the lines of `Dirty, Zionist loving Jew'. Again not that YOU necessarily share those sentiments..but I bet you have been at rallies and `protests' with people who do!

There's really not much difference between Father Coughlin, Charles Lindbergh and the America Firsters of the 1930's saying that President `Rosenfeld'was dragging us into war for the Jews and big business and the remarks of people like Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan...or a lot of their soulmates.

What I think it comes down to is that I and others rcognize this as a new phase in a very old war, and an existential threat..and you don't.

I think you're DEAD wrong, but you're certainly entitled.

Thanks for weighing in..come back soon and share your POV on things.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with the view that Peters is a PNAC warmonger. These guys are not rational; they are, however, expert at spinning glittering talk points to support their position that war is good, war is necesary.

What they're mainly trying to do is cover their sixes for having talked us into this very bad war in Iraq.

Hey, some people believe in the tooth fairy. Likewise, if youwant to believe that iran is not a threat, you certainly can.

BTW - Don't confuse the original decision to take out Iraq with the way the Bush administration turned an amazing military victory into a mess.
