Watcher's Council nominations, 6/07/06

Every week, the Watcher's Council nominate two posts each, one from the Council members and one from outside for consideration by the whole Council. The complete list of this week’s Council nominations is here.

1.Dr. Sanity: THE FOUR PILLARS OF THE SOCIALIST REVIVAL, AND THE RISE OF ISLAMOFASCISM
In which Doctor Sanity highlights a very interesting talk and press conference by Bernard Lewis at the Pew Foundation.

2. J O S H U A P U N D I T: A few words on Haditha
My take on the media frenzy surrounding this, and a certain congressman. There's a link in the article that will tell you all you want to know about Jack Murtha nad his so-called `integrity'.

3.Done With Mirrors: Picture This- Callimachus writes on the Washington Post's coverage of the Toronto Islamic terror arrests.

4. The Education Wonks: Expelling Jr. ROTC From America's Most "Tolerant" City EdWonk examines the attempt in `liberal' San Francisco to oust the ROTC. These creeps have no clue in Babbylon By The Bay as to where their freedom to shoot off their mouths comes from.

5. The Strata-Sphere :Big Day In CAAJ discusses the California primary election in the bellweather 50th district, and its national implications.
6. The Fourth Amendment's requirement of probable cause : New World Man Matt continues from last week with his Constitutional view of the Fourth Amendment and what constitutes probable cause.
7. Gates of Vienna: There Is Something About the DanesDymphna examines the struggle in Denmark against Islamist intimidation, and speculated why Denamrk has been more successful that some other European nations in this regard..highly intersting, as always from Dymphna.
8. ShrinkWrapped: Abolish the "N" WordShrinkwrapped talks about abolishing the dreaded `N' word..and especially among Black folks! Good luck with that one, Shrinks. You are up against some very ingrained history and culture. Non-Blacks generally have a much easier time of losing that word than Blacks do..especially as it figures in the time-honored Afro-American tradition of `da dozens', `signifying', and/or `hateration' - or as we might refer to it, one-up-manship.
9. Rhymes With Right: Ugliness In Harris County Treasurer's Contest (Was "Radack Attack!") Greg examines negative campaigning and its effects in local politics.
10.Right Wing Nut House: A WORD ABOUT COURAGE Rick remembers the 62nd anniversary of D-Day and uses it as a mechanism to examine the real meaning of courage and how it has unfortunately evolved in some circles..good job, Rick!

11. The Glittering Eye :The influence of immigrants on American political thought
Dave has a very interesting piece on the history of immigration in the US and how various `waves' have contributed to America's political history and thought. Very well done.
12. The Sundries Shack: Yes, They have forgottenJimmie Bise makes the point that they MSM has largely forgotten about what Jimmie still calls `The War on Terror' and that they have like wise forgotten what Iraq and Afghanistan were like prior to the war. He has a point..but part of the problem is underlined by his very use of the term `war on terror'..like our President. Wars are won when objectives and emenemies are clearly defined, Jimmie. That hasn't happened this time, and I unfortunately blame the President to a great degree.
