Watcher's Council Results, 08/15/08

The Council has spoken! A complete rundown of the voting tallies is here.

And now(drum roll...) the winning entries in the Watcher's Council vote for this week are :

Among the Council members, the winner was Wolf Howling for “Obama, Criminalizing Politics & Thinking The Unthinkable" a great piece on the proposed Bolshevik style trials planned by the Angry Left for the president and other Bush Administration figures after they leave office.

In second place we had a tie between: This weeks host, The Glittering Eye for “Civis Americanus Sum”an excellent piece that dealt with the American perception of world order and international law as opposed to the reality of realpolitik, as evidenced by the Russian invasion of Georgia.

And: Soccer Dad“Not up to the standards of the national enquirer *UPDATED*”, a fine exposition on the way the dinosaur media handled the Edwards scandal.

Also getting votes was Joshuapundit“Fear And Loathing: The Psychosexual Element In Islam” from you know who.

In the Non-Council category, the winner was Slate“The Columbia Journalism Review’s Division Over Dissent”.

In second place, there was a four way tie between National Review Online“An Unplanned Education”, Pundita“To any and all U.S. forces in Georgia: STAND DOWN”, Right Wing Nut House“Using Ridicule As a Weapon Could Backfire on McCain” and Roger’s Rules“The crisis in Georgia, 9/11, and the lessons of gratitude”.

A shout out to Dave at The Glittering Eye for a superb job in hosting the Council this week. As always, congratulations not only to the winners, but to the participants.
