Gallup: GOP Up Between 13 and 18, Depending on Turnout

The new Gallup Gallup's first generic ballot for Congress among likely voters based on polling from Sept. 23-Oct. 3 shows Republicans have a double-digit advantage under two separate turnout scenarios, one low and one high.

Gallup's been all over the place as far as numbers go, but in their first poll of likely voters (ala' Rasmussen), the trend is unmistakable.

Gallup has also found Republicans and GOP leaning independents expressing higher levels of enthusiasm about voting than Democrats among likely voters.

For those interested in a more technical breakdown of what this means with a translation into plain English, I highly recommend my old friend from the Horse Race blog Jay Cost's take... when it comes to statistical trends in American politics, he remains one of the sharpest guys in the room.

With the midterms only a month away, this is major news.
