This week's winning essay,The Noisy Room's Ted Cruz- A Matter Of Honor [Video] is all about Senator Ted Cruz's calling out of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on the Senate floor. Here's a slice:

Ted Cruz threw down the conservative gauntlet in the Senate this week. This was inspiring… it is something I have never seen happen before in my lifetime. He boldly and honestly called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a liar. It was long overdue and immensely satisfying. The straw that broke the elephant’s back was the vote on reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. McConnell went one lie too far this time.

Cruz voted for Obama’s Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) the first go-around in the Senate based on McConnell’s word and he famously turned against the fast-track trade authority later. Because it was based on lies.

From the AP:

In a stunning attack on a leader of his own party, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of lying to him and said he couldn’t be trusted.

Cruz, a Texan who is running for president but ranks low in early polling, delivered the broadside in a speech on the Senate floor, an extraordinary departure from the norms of Senate behavior that demand courtesy and respect.

At issue are assurances Cruz claimed McConnell, R-Ky., had given that there was no deal to allow a vote to renew the federal Export-Import Bank – a little-known federal agency that has become a rallying cry for conservatives. Cruz rose to deliver his remarks moments after McConnell had lined up a vote on the Export-Import Bank for coming days.

“It saddens me to say this. I sat in my office, I told my staff the majority leader looked me in the eye and looked 54 Republicans in the eye. I cannot believe he would tell a flat-out lie, and I voted based on those assurances that he made to each and every one of us,” Cruz said.

“What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie.”

A spokesman said McConnell would have no response. The majority leader was not on the Senate floor when Cruz issued his attack.

“Today is a sad day for this institution,” said Cruz with a heavy heart. “What we just witnessed this morning is profoundly disappointing.” Betrayal always is, especially from someone you really, really want to believe in. Cruz made his statements after McConnell set up a procedural vote to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, which expired last month. Democrats claim McConnell agreed to allow a vote on attaching the Export-Import Bank to “must-pass” legislation to win support from Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) for a trade package earlier this year.

When Cruz approached McConnell on the floor in a private conversation, McConnell, with biblical overtones, denied to him three times that there was such a deal. “The majority leader was visibly angry with me that I would ask him such a question,” Cruz said. “The majority looked at me and said ‘there is no deal, there is no deal, there is no deal.'” The good senator’s staff tried to warn him about McConnell, but Cruz just couldn’t believe that McConnell would lie to his face and to every other conservative out there like this. He was wrong and learned of McConnell’s treachery the hard way. But then Ted Cruz did something that no one in my memory has done… he called McConnell out for his lying ways on the Senate floor. McConnell’s errand boy say’s he has no response. Maybe not verbally, but Ted Cruz has made a very powerful and evil enemy. You know what? I don’t think he cares. Good.

Cruz pointed out that McConnell’s move to allow the Export-Import Bank vote shows that he does not always mean what he says – that he’s dishonest. “Well, we now know that when the majority leader looks us in the eyes and makes an explicit commitment that he is willing to say things that he knows are false,” Cruz added. He also pointed out that it could have ramifications down the road. That’s an understatement. We now have open warfare in the Senate and that is a good thing. “That has consequences for how this body operates,” Cruz said. “If you or I cannot trust what the majority leader tells us, that will have consequences on other legislation, as well as on how this institution operates.” Plainer and truer words have never been spoken.

It doesn’t end there. Cruz also berated McConnell for using a procedural maneuver to prevent other amendments from being offered to the Highway Bill. That’s the vehicle that will be used for the Export-Import Bank vote. In a breathtakingly hypocritical move, McConnell “filled the tree” just as Harry Reid frequently did. This was to stop amendments when Democrats had a Senate majority. Of course, when McConnell did it, Reid screamed to the heavens. McConnell also set up a vote on repealing ObamaCare. That particular maneuver was a faux move to appease conservatives – it would not have succeeded and McConnell knew it, so it was safe to set up the vote. Cruz is a smart guy and saw right through McConnell’s machinations. “I agree with Senator Reid when he said the ObamaCare amendment is a cynical amendment. Of course it is. It is empty showmanship,” Cruz added.

This is a bitter fight between the GOP leadership and conservatives and it’s about to get real.

In our non-Council category, the winner was Kurt Schlichter, one of my favorite columnists with The Coming (And Hilarious) Democrat Implosion submitted by The Watcher

One of the things I love about Kurt Schlichter aside from his sense of humor is his almost obscene joy in driving his adversaries before him and routing them, even if it's with the written word rather than the M-4 he used previously for that task. Enjoy!

Here are this week’s full results. The Razor and Rhymes With Right were unable to vote this week, but neither was subject to the usual 2/3 penalty for not voting:

Donkey Kong Politics - The Democrat Field

It is early days yet, with 16 months until the election. But it's interesting to assess the Democrat field as it is today from a horse race perspective and see where we are, especially as we're starting to get a glimpse of future trends.

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Hillary Rodham Clinton remains by far the Democrat frontrunner. She's raised far more money than any of the other candidates, more than all of them combined. And she has far more name recognition than any of them. Mrs. Clinton has indeed been with us a long time. To add to these advantages, she has her own built in grievance group appeal because she possesses a vagina and can work the 'first woman president' angle for all it's worth.

Unfortunately for her, she's run into significant problems on the way to the coronation.

The biggest stumbling block to Hillary Clinton has been her own persona. When she first starting her obvious toying with announcing her candidacy after resigning her job as Secretary of State, she had record high approval ratings. At that time, I wrote on these pages that as soon as she began to run, people would remember all the things they disliked about her. And I put her chances at getting the nomination at no more than 50/50, about which more later.

As Secretary of State, Hillary was mostly cut out of the loop. President Obama assigned all of the juicy diplomatic roles to 'special presidential envoys' and Mrs. Clinton was reduced to administrative tasks and a role as messenger girl when needed. Even the UN was taken away from her, as President Obama made it a Cabinet post reporting directly to him and put Obama loyalist Susan Rice in the slot.

The public has a notoriously short memory, especially with Clinton minions like George Stephanopoulos in the media talking her up while making sure nothing problematic really made the news. So Secretary Clinton was largely seen as benign, a reminder of the supposed Good Old Days of the Clinton presidency.

The first reminder of the real Hillary came out in the wake of the Benghazi scandal when it was revealed that she and the Obama regime collaborated on blatantly phoney talking points to blame a totally unknown video and an out of hand 'protest' for a well planned terrorist attack in which a US ambassador and three others were murdered. That one was too big for her media allies to contain, especially after America saw her temper tantrum on national TV when she was confronted with her lies by congress and revealed her hideously amoral core by screaming that it made no difference.

Still, she was protected by the Obama regime for its own reasons. They classified all records of the attack including drone and on ground videos of what happened, threatened the eyewitnesses whom survived so they wouldn't testify to congress and stonewalled the requests of congress for information. And as time went on, the media cooperated by burying the story. So people tired of hearing about it and many, especially the True Believers moved on and as she announced her candidacy, she was still very much the Queen in waiting.

The next shoe that dropped was our finding out that while she had no major foreign policy accomplishments, Secretary Clinton wasn't nearly so benign and idle as we supposed. She used her time in office to enrich herself and her husband through the corrupt Clinton Foundation, selling influence and access as a well-researched best seller "The Clinton Cash Machine" documented. Not only that, but it came out that $6 billion from the State Department budget Mrs. Clinton was responsible for allocating mysteriously went missing. No one to this day knows what happened to the money.

And now its been revealed that Hillary egregiously broke the law (and endangered America's national security) by storing classified documents on a private server located in her home that was almost certainly hacked by foreign governments, refusing to release those documents to the US Department of State and destroying the server. Given who's in the White House she likely won't be prosecuted for that, but again, this sort of thing reminds people of whom Hillary Clinton is and why they dislike her.

Aside from her cold, secretive and imperious personality, she's a corrupt serial liar whose tall tales are so easily found out that it outrages many of the intended recipients that she apparently thinks they're stupid enough to swallow them. There is simply not a truthful bone in her body and again, you have a lot of people recalling why they dislike her...just as I predicted.

She reminds me of an old girl friend of mine who likewise lied in that particularly manic fashion. After catching her out the first couple of times and getting that deer in the headlights look, I learned never to take her seriously or believe a word she said and to just enjoy the carnal aspects of the relationship. But then, she wasn't running for president.Hillary Clinton is.

Another problem Hillary Clinton has to deal with in her march to the White House is one beyond her control. The party's base has simply moved far to the Left of her...or at least far to the Left of what she would like the American people to perceive. Hillary Clinton and her husband have always been a lot more radical in reality than they projected to the American voting public. They are what Emmett J. Tyrrell Jr. famously called 'coat and tie radicals.' They were willing to drop the obvious trappings and positions of the Left to a certain extent to infiltrate the System they despised from within for power and profit.

They largely succeeded, thanks to Bill Clinton's undeniable skill as a politician in 'triangulating' - running ever so carefully to the Left to get the nomination and back towards the center in the general election to capture the flag. Hillary's problem is that the Democrat Party George Soros and Barack Obama have created is simply too far Left to allow her to do that easily. She will either have to run hard to the Left to capture her party's base or to the center, hoping that a combination of her gender and the fact that the alternative is one of the Hated Republicans will be enough.

While I still say that  the nomination is largely hers for the taking, the chances of her getting it are only 50/50/. Her health is poor, and she is already polling equal or behind some of the GOP clown show, a trend that's likely to continue. The Democrat's system of super delegates - party movers and shakers unelected by any particular state - gives us at least the possibility that at some point, if her poll numbers keep dropping, they'll have a little talk with her. And she'll drop out and someone like Elizabeth Warren will drop in. Again, I see this as at least a 50/50 possibility.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist, is Hillary Clinton's chief competition at this point. His class warfare meme and his regular guy persona play well with the Democrat's base and while still far behind Hillary, in Iowa and New Hampshire he's currently polling in the 30's. Nationally, he's polling slightly more than half that against Hillary Clinton.

In spite of all the noise, I don't see him winning in the least.

Iowa and New Hampshire are mainly white states. Bernie Sanders has a shot at winning there, but once the campaign moves to states with significant amount of black and Hispanic Democrats, it's all over. They will vote for Hillary Clinton.

Sanders' problem is that however irreligious and Leftist he may be, he is still a Jew. A significant part of the Democratic coalition as it's now composed involves blacks and Muslims, many of whom have certain attitudes, shall we say, about Jews and will not vote for one. George W. Bush's razor thin 2000 win can be attributed in part to this factor. The GOP carried the Muslim vote that year...when there was a guy named Joe Lieberman on the Democrat ticket.

This is even more true today then it was in 2008. Simply put, Barack Obama has made 'anti-Zionism' and anti-semitism respectable viewpoints in Democrat circles, provided they're nuanced ever so slightly. We saw ample evidence of that at the 2012 convention. I would say at least a third of the party holds those attitudes, and possibly more.

Think I'm exaggerating? Listen to NPR host Diane Rehm use the age old anti-semitic smear and accuse Sanders of 'dual loyalty':

There was no outrage over this is official Democrat circles, although Rehm issued a statement the next day. She 'apologized' for not fact checking whether Sanders actually had joint Israeli-US citizenship, not for the anti-semitic slur itself.

The list she speaks of is one I've seen and is wildly inaccurate, supposedly labeling Jews in congress who have dual US-Israeli citizenship. It even includes California Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, whom isn't Jewish at all but is married to one as well as a number of Democrats with Jewish-sounding names who are markedly anti-Israel. For that matter, Bernie Sanders is far from pro-Israel and was one of the members of Congress whom boycotted Israeli PM Netanyahu's speech. Apparently that wasn't enough to establish his far Left credentials.

Rehm, by the way is a notoriously anti-semitic Arab-American who was awarded the National Humanities Medal from Obama last year, where he praised her for her "keen insights" at the ceremony.

Sanders also has major baggage when it comes to gun confiscation, a cause dear to Democrat hearts. It's not well known, but Vermont has some of the most pro Second Amendment firearms laws in the country.Vermonters like their guns, and any Vermont politician advocating the sort of restrictions Democrats in most blue states love would get booted out at the next election. Sooner or later, Bernie Sanders is going to be asked to take a stand on this and justify his largely pro-NRA stance. It will not sit well with the base.

Finally, Bernie Sanders' big issue is the plight of American workers, whom he claims have been targeted since the 1970's. He's correct about that, even if he is more than somewhat off target about the cause. But in order to get a fighting chance at the nomination he's also had to pander and come out big time for amnesty for illegal migrants and more guest worker visas. The first time someone asks him in a debate or other high visibility occasion how he can justify his stance championing the American worker and higher minimum wages with being an advocate of one of the major causes of static wages and high unemployment, you can stick a fork in him. He's done.

 http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/1omalley.jpg

Former Mayor of Baltimore and Governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley is the only Democrat candidate under sixty. And he has something Mrs. Clinton and Bernie Sanders lack - actual executive experience. Unfortunately, it's the kind of executive experience sensible people would run away from.

True, Maryland's official unemployment rate is somewhat below the national average, but that's largely attributable to Baltimore and much of the rest of the state's proximity to the greater DC metro area, where the expansion of the federal government makes it one of the few Blue State areas where jobs are readily available. Federal spending in Maryland also contributes to this. But when it comes to private sector jobs, Maryland fell way behind during O'Mally's tenure.

Taxes in Maryland were high to begin with, and O'Malley raised them substantially while also raising government spending. There's a reason that after two terms of O'Malley, Republican Larry Hogan pulled off an upset when he ran in a solid Blue state against O'Malley's Attorney General.

O'Malley checks off a lot of the Democrat base's boxes. He could be labeled Obama in white face, at least as far as his policies are concerned. Unfortunately, that doesn't translate into much support, even though O'Malley is an old hand at pandering. Here's O'Malley at the Net Roots Presidential town hall in Phoenix, Arizona about ten days ago, being interviewed by illegal migrant celebrity Jose Antonio Vargas. While the whole shameful performance bears watching, check out the action at about 21:00 when the 'black lives matter' crowd takes control:

After almost getting booed off the stage for simply saying that 'all lives matter,' his tearful apology the next day was something to behold. Even imagining someone like this negotiating with Putin or the Iranians ought to be enough to make most Americans fall over with laughter.

In terms of getting the nomination, Martin O'Malley's chief problem is that as of yet, hardly anyone outside of Maryland or hard core political junkies has even heard of him. At this point, to stay in he'll have to raise enough money to last and to rack up a couple of good finishes in the primaries.

I include Jim Webb in this survey simply because he's an anomaly when it comes to the Democrat field. The 69-year-old former Senator from Virginia has also served as Secretary of the Navy and Assistant Secretary of Defense, so he brings considerable executive experience with him. He's also a former Marine Corps combat veteran, with a chest full of medals including the Navy Cross and the Silver Star. His Navy Cross citation is hair raising. I'm surprised he didn't get the Medal of Honor.

He taught literature at the United States Naval Academy and was a Fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics, as well as being the author of ten books, many of them on foreign policy, and an Emmy-award winning journalist.

He's also a defense hawk who is one of the handful of Democrats to point out the shortcomings of the Obama Administration's Iran deal. And to criticize the Obama regime harshly for its illegal war in Libya. He calls for revamping our military and strengthening our alliances in Asia and the Middle East.

He calls for reforming the tax code, lowering taxes on earned income across the board while eliminating corporate loopholes that reward the outsourcing of American jobs. He also calls for a national equivalent of the Depression Era CCC to rebuild US infrastructure, for releasing non-violent drug offenders and/or putting together a job training program for them, and most interestingly for a restructuring of the traditional relationship between the executive and legislative branch of government, among other things.

He favors securing America's borders, creating a tamper proof US ID card, stricter enforcement against employers, a path to citizenship for illegal migrants, curtailing U.S. immigration, voted no on the Senate's Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill and yes on making English America's official language and eliminating an important non-immigrant guest worker program.

He's obviously an intelligent man who's done a lot of thinking, and a patriot. A lot of his agenda make sense, and he's the one person on this list I'd consider voting for.

He hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell in today's Democrat Party.

These four candidates comprise the choices thus far. It remains to be seen if any of them are able to challenge Hillary Clinton's position as front runner.

Our Weasel Of The Week!!

Once again, It's time to present this week's statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week's nominees were all particularly slimy and despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner...the envelope please...

Baby Killer And Spare Parts Wheeler N' Dealer, Planned Parenthood's Dr Mary Gatter!!

Don Surber : Dr. Mary Gatter -- the Josef Mengele of abortion -- a soulless plague upon the land, making light of aborting babies and selling their parts. Mustela abortionist. Pray for her.t

Ah, the good Dr. Gatter. Watching the video of her in action, dickering on prices and than demurring from making a final deal, you know, 'until we see what others are getting' and realizing that your tax dollars are funding this is a unique sensation. We truly are becoming the abettors of Moloch, and moving towards damnation. And why not? After all, we elected (and re-elected, apparently) a president who fought tooth and nail against legislation that would have mandated physicians like Dr. Gatter to provide medical care to babies that survived an abortion rather than simply allowing the unwanted arrivals to die from neglect.

When indecency leads, the weak follow, because it's convenient.

I personally would pray more for America than for the likes of Dr. Gatter, but perhaps that's just me. To legally allow a 20-week-old healthy child with a fully developed nervous system to feel the pain of being ripped from the womb as its limbs are crushed when there is no health issue involved but simply convenience - and profit - is bad enough, but to force everyone to subsidize it..that's in a whole different category.

At present, The Center for Medical Progress, the group that released the video of Dr. Gatter has been subjected to lawfare.

They've been hit with a lawsuit by a company called StemExpress who profits from the traffic with Planned Parenthood in body parts, and a temporary restraining order was issued by the Los Angeles Superior Court preventing them from releasing any more videos until a hearing is held on August 19th.

The Center for Medical Progress's leader David Daleiden, told FOX News's Sean Hannity that there are twelve investigative videos in all:

“Planned Parenthood is getting increasingly desperate to distract from the issue of how they sell the body parts of the babies that they abort,” Daleiden explained. “So, they’re going to be making increasingly outlandish claims about myself, personal attacks against me and really outrageous, fictitious statements about The Center for Medical Progress, in order to avoid addressing that real issue.”

Dr. Gatter is not here with us tonight of course. Her Weasel will be shipped to her offices...as soon as the blood red paint I spattered it with dries.

Well, there it is.

Check back next Tuesday to see who next week's nominees for Weasel of the Week are!

Rutgers Racist College Perfesser And Buffoon Brittney Cooper!!

The Noisy Room :  My nomination this week goes to Rutgers University Professor Brittney Cooper for proclaiming that all white people are the face of the oppressor. So, let me get this straight… this Rutger’s professor is basically telling whites, ‘y’all look alike to me.’ What racist blather. And she hates men – it’s a twofer. Make that a threefer – she’s hates police too. Brittney Cooper is just chock full of hate – facts be damned. It doesn’t matter to her that Sandra Bland would not get out of her car when instructed by the officer to do so. He went a bit over the top when he said he’d light her up with a taser, but she was being uncooperative and belligerent. When she did get out, she argued with him, called him a bunch of vulgar names and kicked him in the shin. He told her that originally she was going to get a warning; now she was going to be arrested for assaulting a public servant. She richly earned her arrest. But it didn’t end there unfortunately and now you have racists screaming for this officer’s head because Sandra Bland decided to off herself in her cell. She hung herself using a trash can liner. This is a woman who had previously tried to commit suicide. But according to Cooper, it’s so obviously the white, male cop’s fault. How did this woman ever become a professor at a major university?

According to this professor, all whites, just for the simple fact of being white, are guilty and ipso facto – oppressors. Only whites, mind you… If you are Hispanic or a Muslim, you get a pass. But white people? Well, they are devils I hear. Never mind that crimes are committed every day by all races and all ideologies. Cooper holds a special place in her black heart for white male cops. Occasionally you see a cop go rogue or make a mistake. That’s rare. And police are pretty good about justice within their own ranks. Contrary to what Cooper is insinuating, you do not have roving, racist white cops across the nation brutalizing black individuals and killing them without cause. Most crimes that are handled by police are crimes that are without a doubt perpetrated by those in custody. According to the likes of Cooper, if you are black and step out of line, white cops should give you special treatment – a unique deference. That is social justice thinking – Liberal logic. It’s pervasive in the Marxist media and in Liberal academia. I sure wouldn’t want Cooper teaching my children in college – no matter what race they were. For being an unmitigated racist and a hate monger, Cooper has more than earned the Golden Weasel.

RINO En Extremis And Obama Enabler Senator Mitch McConnell! :

Ask Marion : My WOTW Nominee is Majority Leader Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Senator McConnell was caught and called out for using a procedural maneuver called “Filling the Amendment Tree” to divert attention away from the fact that he called up an amendment that would allow the Export-Import Bank to continue. Marrying the unrelated EX-IM House bill to the highway bill also made sure that he does not violate the Constitution.

Ted Cruz boldly called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a liar. The straw that broke the elephant’s back was the vote on reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. McConnell went one lie too far this time said Cruz, who had voted for Obama’s Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) the first go-around in the Senate based on McConnell’s word and he famously turned against the fast-track trade authority later. Because it was based on lies. Cruz said he had to call out McConnell as matter of honor.

Leader McConnell called up a House passed bill and added the text of the highway bill to it, then he called up an amendment that allows the Export-Import Bank to continue. This married an unrelated House bill to the highway bill and EX-IM. But then Senator McConnell did something that was unexpected. He offered an amendment for a full repeal of Obamacare. Seemingly an attempt to intimidate the Tea Party faction in the Senate to take the vote on a full repeal of Obamacare and walk away from the fight over EX-IM. The problem is that nobody believes the Obamacare amendment to be anything other than meaningless vote bringing McConnell’s deception to the forefront.

Well, there it is. What a despicable group of  Weasels...ANY OF THEM COULD WIN! Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

Forum: Will The Iran Deal Pass Congress?

Every week on Monday morning , the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher's Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week's question : Will The Iran Deal Pass Congress?

Don Surber : It better or -- RACIST!

The Independent Sentinel : Don't forget, we don't want to embarrass Kerry in front of the Ayatollah! That would be our worst nightmare.

The Glittering Eye : It probably won't pass the House. Whether it passes the Senate will depend on what Chuck Schumer does. It Schumer supports it, it could pass the Senate. If he votes against it, not only is it possible that it won't pass the Senate it's possible it could fail in both houses by veto-proof majorities.

JoshuaPundit : It will probably not pass congress initially. Certain Democrats will be given permission to vote 'no' for political reasons, so they can say they did later. Chuck Schumer will likely be one of them. The president will veto it, and there will not be enough votes to override it.

One would expect a congress who was openly and deliberately lied to about the components of the 'deal' and was subjected to being deliberately sidelined by this president and his secretary of state to vomit this out. One would expect an electorate who cared about their country to insist on it.

The pathetic part in all of this is that what congress does really doesn't matter too much. Thanks to the Corker Bill, the senate abrogated its constitutional power to vet treaties in this case. And our Dear Leader happily took advantage of this folly to take this to the UN, where the Security Council approved it . The Europeans and the Russians are already falling all over themselves to do deals and sell advanced weaponry to Iran...even to the point of acceding to allowing the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Quds Forceto operate on EU soil starting in 2023, and delisting Iranian banks like Ansar and Mehr whom were under sanctions for material support for terrorism and for transactions involving illegal nuclear proliferation.

Iran has already put in place a framework for jihad in the Muslim parts of the Balkans. Whether they'll bother waiting 8 years to utilize it fully is anyone's guess. This is another clear signal to Europe's Jews that they are no longer safe in Europe.

Governor Mike Huckabee said something yesterday about this:

“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven. This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people. I read the whole deal. We gave away the whole store. It’s got to be stopped.”

Well said, but I would add one thing. This time, the Jews are armed.

Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason : Congress will reject the deal, the President will veto Congress, and Congress will not have the votes to overturn the President’s veto. So unfortunately, yes, the deal will pass, opening the world to nuclear proliferation on a massive scale.

Puma By Design : Will The Iran Deal Pass Congress? You betcha!

John Boehner has already ceded power to Mitch McConnell who is only too willing to cede authority to Barack Obama and in turn, Obama will cede, or attempt to cede our sovereignty over to the third-world dictators at the United Nations.

At the same time, had Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas) not traveled to Vienna to meet with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Americans would not be aware of the two side deals “between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IAEA as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).”

So here, we go with the dog and pony show, i.e., hearings, press conferences, tough talking rhetoric, Sunday morning television, etc.

However, in the end, Obama’s lapdogs, Boehner and McConnell will do their fair share to add one more chapter to Barack Obama’s legacy.

Ask Marion

iran-cagle.co,m_071415

I would love to be able to answer this question with a resounding “No”! But I fear in my heart that it will squeak through and pass.

Partly because under the law Congress passed to ensure its review of any Iran deal, unless the Democrats abandon the president wholesale, this deal will stick.

Personal Liberty:
The 60-day review period begins once all of the paperwork gets submitted to Congress, per a statement from Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) That delay would be extended to 12 days if the House and Senate send a joint resolution to the president, and Congress would have 10 more days after that to consider an override.

Opponents of the deal have to be able to override a veto on a disapproval resolution to stop it from going into effect. That’s a tall order, with 291 House votes and 67 in the Senate needed to assure an override.

In many ways, the deal seems to be about the sanctions, not the bomb!

CSMonitor: The Obama administration, by relaxing the tough sanctions on the Persian regime, is basically declaring peace with the Iranians.

For the Israelis and the Saudis, who are fighting proxy wars on several different fronts throughout the Mideast against Iran, this is tantamount to a mass betrayal.

We are avoiding war but our allies can’t.

The sanctions have hurt the Iranian people. They have stunted the growth of their economy. They made it more difficult for the Iranian armed forces to get cash to buy conventional weapons. They delegitimized the government in the eyes of the people.

In other words, the sanctions worked as a weapon in this shadow war between the Jews, the Sunni, and the Shia.

The problem for the Obama administration is that the sanctions only worked as long as there was a grand coalition that was that was willing to enforce it... And that coalition was fraying.

Sanctions are hard to enforce over the long term because the free market is hard to control. People want to do business. Iran has a lot of oil, which is attractive to the Europeans so this deal is the administration was there way to back out.

But then that brings us right back to what this whole ordeal was supposed to be about… What about a nuclear Iran? This what happens when to you send kindergartners in to do a President and a Secretary of States’ jobs.

Well, there you have it.

The Council Has Spoken! Our Watcher's Council Results

http://www.romanobritain.org/Photos/roman-senate2.jpg

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast, and the results are in for this week's Watcher's Council match up.

"You know, when President Reagan, who was one of my idols, granted amnesty to about three million illegal immigrants it was based on the fact that the borders would be secured. That didn't happen." - Arizona Governor Jan Brewer

"To be called a sovereign nation, a nation has to be able to control its own borders. It is controlling your own destiny in a way, and we don't control our own borders." - Tom Tancredo

There is overwhelming bipartisan support outside of Washington that we need to finally secure our borders, enforce our laws, and stop the problem of illegal immigration."- Ted Cruz

This week's winning essay, The Independent Sentinel's How A Red Diaper Baby President Is Rigging Future Elections With Illegal Immigrants is another inher fine series of articles on illegal migration. This one focuses on an issue you may not have considered before. Here's a slice:

In January, 2012, the Sentinel posted an article about why illegal immigration is more than welcomed by Democrats; even the immigration of criminal illegals, and especially families is encouraged. If drug cartels and terrorists exploit the situation, it’s not a concern because the end goal is what matters.

One obvious reason is because they will one day vote and they support Democrats by a margin of 8 to 1, but it’s not only that.

It is a fact that the U.S. Census Bureau counts illegal aliens because the law states the census “‘is required by the U.S. Constitution to count everyone living in this country, regardless of immigration or citizenship status.’”

It’s interesting that a party that strongly advocates for a “living Constitution” wants to stick with this definition despite the rampant illegal immigration and the effect it has in making illegal aliens a strong political and economic power in the United States.

The decennial census, which counts all people regardless of immigration status, is used to allocate federal funds for education, housing, healthcare, transportation and other local needs. By some estimates, every person counted results in $1,000 in federal funds.

These statistics are used to apportion our 435 congressional districts. It also affects the number of Electoral College votes they are allotted.

As illegal immigration is promoted with our open borders policy and as millions take up residence in the United States, including criminals, the apportionment of the U.S. House of Representatives is restructured.

The Obama administration made it clear prior to the 2010 census that illegal aliens should come forward and be counted through taxpayer-funded advertisements, personal announcements, and community outreach by leftist organizations like LaRaza. Barack Obama promised they would not be deported if they reported.

Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, and Ohio all lost congressional seats under the counting method after 2010.

The National Review Online reported that New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Illinois, all liberal states, received eight additional congressional seats in the last reapportionment, with over half of those gains coming from their sanctuary cities and counties.

They also reported that data from the Migration Policy Institute show that 3.2 million of the nation’s 11 plus million illegal aliens reside in just 19 counties that include the sanctuary cities of the deep-blue states, mostly the cities of New York, Newark, LA, Chicago, and San Francisco-Oakland.

California flipped from solid red to solid blue after their open borders policies became entrenched.

Our Weasel Of The Week!!

Yes, once again, It's time to present this week's statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

Planned Parenthood's Head Babykiller And Organ Harvester, Dr. Deborah Nucatola!

Puma By Design : My nomination for scuzzbucket Weasel of the Week award is Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical research, Planned Parenthood. The thought of aborting innocent babies is horrific enough but to perform such an act in a way that preserves specific body parts for profit is even more unethical. The ability of this woman to discuss the sale of aborted baby body parts and the method of fulfilling the transaction while sipping wine and munching on a salad is evil as is the mindset of those who believe that what they do is for the greater good.

Ah yes, the greater good. The rallying cry of progressive fascists everywhere.

Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood had that in mind when she started Planned Parenthood. In 1922, she said:

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

She was also quite the admirer of another person for whom the Greater Good was a rallying cry, progressive pioneer Adolf Hitler. She agreed with his ideas on eliminating undesirables. She simply took a less industrialized, more gradual path to the goal, one where the victims would be coerced or convinced to participate willingly and the taxpayers would support it, whether they agreed with her views or not.

And Planned Parenthood continues that legacy today. In 2013, the last year we have figures for, New York City aborted more black babies than were born alive.

Now, simple murder on this scale is ordinarily not quite one of the qualities the Golden Weasel Award celebrates. But to murder healthy infants almost ready to be born with fully developed nervous systems? Babies who are able to feel the pain of having their tiny skulls punctured with surgical scissors, and their brains vacuumed out to collapse their heads so they can be ripped from the womb more easily? And then, as a medical doctor to happily take pride in your ability to do it just right so you can make a nice profit selling the organs while enjoying a  glass of Merlot and munching on a salad? And to actually justify it as something good and proper? That's the very essence of weaseldom.

And it gets better. Planned Parenthood ran right to its Democrat allies in Congress and the White House and is urging that the Obama Department of Justice be sicced on the group that caught Dr. Nucatola and others of her ilk on video. And I'm sure the IRS will be mobilized as well.

Some of Planned Parenthood's minions, believe it or not, are comparing Dr. Nucatola to Jesus.

As I wrote some time ago, there's not much difference between Planned Parenthood's activities and the little shop of horrors Dr. Gosnell ran in Philadelphia. Remember,he was running  a legally licensed abortion clinic in good standing, and had Dr, Gosnell been working for Planned Parenthood in a state that allows abortion later than 24 weeks in a clean shop with licensed assistants, nothing would have been said.

For the record, I am not an anti-abortion hardliner. I am very much in favor of the use of the morning after pill that prevents conception where non-consensual sex is involved or where someone simply forgot herself and went a little too far on a Saturday night. And I concede that there are times when an abortion maybe necessary and humane in early stages or even in later stages when there are health issues involved. But that has nothing to do with this evil carnage of the innocent for convenience and profit.

Make no mistake about it, There is a blood guilt for America involved here, it will be atoned for and it will not be pleasant in the least.

I did not invite Dr. Nucatola to the awards ceremony this week, (not that she would have come) but will have her Golden Weasel shipped to her at Planned Parenthood's offices in New York. I did not wish to be in the same room with her.

Well, there it is.

Our Weasel Of The Week Nominees!

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg

It's time once again for the Watcher's Council's 'Weasel Of The Week' nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

Here are this weeks' nominees....

The Donald!!

Don Surber : Donald Trump (Mustela badhairus) decided that a Silver Star recipient who spent 5 1/2 years as a tortured POW isn't a hero. This comes from a man who ducked Vietnam. Thank you DT for raising the issue of defending the border, now kindly slither back under the rock you came from.

http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/files/original/AndreaMitchell_talking.jpg Media Mongrel Andrea Mitchell!

The Noisy Room  :  My nomination this week is Andrea Mitchell.  Andrea Mitchell is an unmitigated media hack. She simply hates the Constitution and abhors the Second Amendment and guns. Naturally, she would spin it that the Chattanooga military massacre has nothing to do with this murdering scum being a radical Islamist. Oh, no… she tried to twist it into Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez being a Southern redneck, gun-toting nut. I’m surprised she didn’t throw in the Confederate flag for good measure. Typical Marxist bull crap. Mitchell’s Progressive, lying tactics are legendary. You know what? This dirt bag’s only known acquaintance with guns was the fact that just weeks before the shooting, he went to a gun range with three other bearded Islamists to practice shooting an AR-15. And I’ll bet it wasn’t for hunting practice, unless of course you count hunting infidels as sport. Which, I’m sure he did.

From The Washington Free Beacon:
MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell went fishing for a better angle Friday when she asked a former classmate of Chattanooga mass murderer Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez whether he enjoyed “hunting” and other “small-town Tennessee activity.”
“Were guns a big part of activities—social or other activities?” Mitchell asked her interviewee abruptly.
“What?” her interviewee responded.
“Did he hunt, did he shoot?” Mitchell prodded. “Was that just part of small-town Tennessee activity?”
“Um, he actually wasn’t one of the guys I heard about going hunting,” Abdulazeez’s classmate responded. “He wasn’t really that kind of guy.”

Mitchell is a vocal opponent of the widespread availability of firearms.
Mitchell blathers on about how painful it must have been for the terrorist’s friends. What about the families and loved ones of the four Marines and the one Navy officer he gunned down? Hmmm? Where’s your crocodile tears for them, Andrea? Who cares what the scum was like in high school or in everyday life. Normal? Really? He was so nice… he murdered a bunch of people and Mitchell can’t wait to blame it on the evil black guns! Even the terrorist’s school chum was taken aback by Mitchell asking about guns and his ‘Tennessee lifestyle.’ How insulting. How condescending. Focusing on the creep’s looks and personality, while the blood of our warriors seeps into the ground crying for justice. It’s grotesque, just like fascist, elitist Andrea Mitchell is. A Southern redneck does not an Islamic Jihadist make and a washed up hack from MSNBC does a lousy job of not only reporting and doing a political spin job, but in feigning humanity. For this and a million other crappy things she has pulled over the years on MSNBC, Mitchell gets my nod as a weasel supreme.

Jihadist Murderer Mohammed Yousuf Abdulaziz

GrEaT sAtAn"S gIrLfRiEnD : Mohammed Yuosef Abdulazziz.
