I think that there is a lot of reason to be optimistic on Afghanistan, Iraq and for that matter on the War on Terror that dare not speak its name.

The key is to not be overwhelmed by the incrediable defeatist twist and spin coming from the major media elites world wide and the Democrate surrender caucus in Washington DC. They have become defacto allies of Al Quaeda; spreading the terrorists propaganda and undermining the moral and will of those who fight the terrorists. Be careful not to make the same mistake.

I have been to Afghanistan twice to visit friends there. The place is booming with the pent-up desire for peace and to move forward into the future. New houses are being started, building is going on everywhere. In the back country of Hazarajad, the talk is of education, and rebuilding; the Taliban dare not go there. Drugs and corruption are big challenges, but Al Qaeda is unwelcome in Afghanistan and the Taliban is being thrashed militarily and marginalised by the desire for peace and progress.

We are on a roll, and only this cut and run stuff will cause us to fail.

Chaney is a heavy guy. Our 'allies ' are likely to listen to him. He will be laying out the two roads that they face. One road would have Hamas, Hezbola and Iran driving endless conflict in the region. The other will be to support the efforts of the US to pacify Iraq and block Iran.

You too must choose whose side you are on. The glass is indeed half full or half empty; but the US military has it's thumb on the scale and this new 'greatest generation' is doing one hell of a job. Again you must decide whose side you are on.

Have you heard that Al Qaeda is being rejected in Anbar province of Iraq. Or do you remain ignorant, and only read what the NYT sells. Iraq is only lost if we lose our will. On this day of all days we must remember that we have dealt with hardship before and prevaled.
Thanks to our brave men and women in uniform.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16816866.post-13023703285204466042007-05-13T18:20:00.000-07:002007-05-13T18:20:00.000-07:00Hello, M'dear,Nice, as always, to have you drop by...Hello, M'dear,
Nice, as always, to have you drop by.
I hope all's well...

I couldn't really say what the president does or doesn't understand about Islam.

What he does understand all too well is that he's got a year and a half to try and ride out before he `retires', that he doesn't want to upset anyone or shake things up too much, that he needs to get up out of Iraq to cool things out here at home and that he needs to please his Saudi pals and his friends in the Emirates in order to keep things going smoothly so that all happens.

Be well,

FFFreedom Fighterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13649470110087808596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16816866.post-59533430691353572082007-05-13T16:33:00.000-07:002007-05-13T16:33:00.000-07:00The entire scenario is disheartening for those of ...The entire scenario is disheartening for those of use who love the United States and Israel. And sucking up to the Saudis? I'm sick of THAT!

Bush made a huge mistake with Iraq by trying to bring democracy to those who are not ready to assume the responsibilities of self-governance. As I see it, GWB doesn't have a clue as to the limitations and the goals of Islam. Do you think that he understands now? I don't.

PS: Sorry for my recent absence here at your blog.
