It seems to be fairly common for nations...Louie,

It seems to be fairly common for nations to seek assistance of foreigners if they lack the expertise domestically to carry out certain necessary tasks to operate a modern nation state. As such, the Ukrainian government is trying to put together a competent team of people to do this. As such, I think it a bit premature to refer to them as "carpetbaggers."

Of the three people you mention, I only see a problem with Ms. Jaresko. While she has been in Ukraine 20 years it seems and she no doubt understands the culture, her American citizenship could be a problem. For Ukraine to have any hope of successfully charting a course independent of Russia, they will need to put as much distance between themselves and America. At a minimum, Ms. Jaresko will need to renounce her US citizenship and cut all ties to America. Otherwise she cannot succeed in her post, as being seen as a tool of America even if one isn't is the kiss of death for any leader right now.

Btw, the term "carpetbagger" seems to imply someone only in something for the money. Of course these people would need to be well compensated as serving in the Ukrainian government right now would be a VERY dangerous job as one who chooses to do such becomes a target of Vladimir Putin and Russia.

I will reiterate what I've stated here and elsewhere many times. Choosing to intricate ourselves in the Ukrainian/Russian conflict was arguably the stupidest move a major power has ever made in the history of civilization. Our top foreign policy priority needs to be finding a way to extricate ourselves from this by any and all means necessary.

Apparently the stupidity isn't limited to America. I've read that a number of other world leaders confronted Mr. Putin over Ukraine. Of course it's easy for them to act brave as they are not going to be the target of Russian military action. That target is America. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!

Sorry about the length of the post but I suppose I'm not seeing how the Ukrainian situation and the prospect of team Obama interfering in Israeli elections are in any way related. I think it a virtual certainty that these people get their talking points from the Palestinian leadership.

Apparently these people do not realize the new government they are going to be faced with will be less likely to give in to cave in to their ridiculous demands than the current government is. In other words, they should not be "gloating."

"One thing you can count on is Barack Obama funneling money and personnel to Yitzhak Herzog and the Labor Party." Doesn't Israel have laws against this sort of interference in the electoral process by foreign nationals and foreign governments? I would assume that any sane country would and that they would enforce such laws. The US by the way is NOT a sane country at this time.

Furthermore given the hatred felt towards America all around the world and I doubt Israel would be an exception and especially given the animosity this POTUS has shown towards Israel, I'd think accepting any kind of help from America would carry huge downside risk by Mr. Herzog with little gain to offset. As such, he and his team would be wise to refuse such assistance as it would have negative utility.

If he's found receiving such help, his campaign is over and I'd think he would likely face significant jail time. In fact given America's position I'd think the mere accusation of him receiving assistance from team Obama would doom his campaign. As such, if he really wants the job the best move would be to put as much distance as he can between himself and team Obama.

Finally, given that sane countries would have laws against such things and they would enforce them, for team Obama to meddle this way in the affairs of a soverign country who has never harmed us would likely do even more harm than has already been done to our relations with Israel. As such, I'd expect Congress to act to put a halt to such things as this.

Will Congress act to place a check on this POTUS? I certainly hope so but am not holding my breath in anticipation of such a thing occurring.
