The various members of the Obama Media group (I liked that OMG!) made it sound like the guy had screamed "kiss my a---" at the top of his lungs to the reporters. It's clear it was done more sotto voce--and out of complete frustration with the reporters, which makes it make a lot more sense. And also clearly NOTHING. Romney should apologize for.Moxie D. As for Mr. Romney's remarks that London may not be ready for the olympics, his initial instincts may have been spot on. So far we have someone marching with the Indian team at the opening ceremonies who was unauthorized to be in the area. We've had the South Korean flag displayed where the North Korean flag should have been displayed and, as I recall, someone almost was able to steal the olympic torch. If the olympics were in America and our people had screwed up in this manner, the howls of rage from world capitols and the news media would be deafening. As such, Mr. Romney's inital assertion may have been spot on.

Perhaps not. Maybe the media is so large and intrusive that we simply hear about things we might not have in years or decades past and it may be much out of minor issues.

Now for the potential gaffe we are not hearing much about. Mr. Romney may have met with the head of British intellegence and one of his staffers leaked this. This is a problem on so many levels its hard to know where to begin. As the British point out, it is unusual for a candidate for public office of another nation to get a briefing with British intellegence. Now other candidates with other nations may start expecting the same treatment.

A bigger problem though is America's intellegence services are staffed and managed by incompetent boobs. As I've said before, if America expects to survive let alone thrive in the coming years we are going to have to address this. To do so will take time. As such, we are going to have lean heavily on the intellegence services of allied ountries. To compound this problem, our officials leak information like busted water pipes leak water!! In this environment, whose going to trust us enough to share with us information we desparately need and lack the skills to obtain independently. Not a good situation. American officals and want to be American officials need to do some serious soul searching.

No matter how good our military may be, if we don't have good intellegence, they might as well be blind, deaf, and dumb!! Actions such as this are not helpful to say the least.B.Posternoreply@blogger.com
