What Christmas Really Means, And Why The Left Hates It

 

In two days, Christians around the world will celebrate Christmas, the birthday of Jesus of Nazareth, called the Christ..or as I, a non-Christian sometimes respectfully refer to him, Rav Yussel ben-Yosef. For among other attributes, Jesus was also a learned rabbi.

While historical evidence points towards the actual birthday of Jesus being in the spring, the December 25th date - January 6th for Orthodox Christians - are the traditional days Christians celebrate.

It is a time of year when people in predominantly Christian countries are more expansive, more gentle and more at peace with each other. They smile more, and they let the little things go because it's Christmas, a time of cheer and good will, a time for friends and family.

It is also a time when the secular Left unleashes savage attacks on the very nature of Christ and the holiday itself. Satanists demand the right to set up displays next to manger scenes, smarmy writers mock the traditions of Christmas and Christianity and atheists and Leftists go on the warpath with lawsuits designed to try and stop public religious displays of faith, especially Christian ones.

One writer whom I won't link to even made the point in a very well-known far Left outlet that religion in general is 'rapey' (her word) and Christianity in particular because - wait for it- it teaches that G-d raped the Virgin Mary without her consent, since consent isn't explicitly mentioned in Scripture. So of course, this is just another instance of the 'Patriarchy' in action.

Before I go on, let me point out that all of these attacks are permissible free speech, although there's no doubt in my mind that if we were talking about Islam, they'd be a lot more circumspect.Or perhaps outright cowardly and hypocritical is a more accurate way to put it.

But if we get beyond the secular trapping and look at the real meaning of Christmas, it becomes obvious that all these attacks on Christianity have a distinct motivation.It becomes glaringly apparent why the Left does what it does.

Christmas is above all a time for Christians to celebrate a miracle of their faith, the birth of their Messiah,born in the humblest of surroundings but recognized by the Magi and generations of future Christians as Lord and Savior. To Christians, Jesus is whom they owe ultimate allegiance to, not to government or to secular power, but to heavenly power. If Jesus is their Lord, than no secular lord can be, and if Jesus is the way, the truth and the light, salvation comes from the Lord, not from Moscow, or Peking, or Washington DC, or any other seat of government.

The Founders themselves understood this quite well, that the unalienable rights they sought came from their Creator, not government, or an earthly king.

To the Left, this belief goes against everything they stand for. That's why the Left needs so badly to mock, attack and destroy it. And why all of us, even those of us whom are not Christians need to defend it.

Christmas, like our Constitution is a way of reminding us that government has limits to its power. Hanukkah sends the same message, with its recounting of the Jewish victory of faith and arms over the pagan, Hellenizing Greeks. Is it any wonder that President Barack Obama, in each of his Hanukkah messages has consistently failed to mention that detail?

Just as the Seleucid Empire tried with all its might to destroy Jews and Judaism, the Roman Empire tried to destroy Christianity, and for the same reason...to destroy those inalienable rights our Founders spoke of, and to bring all of their population under government's yoke. Both failed.

And that is a lesson for our times.The light will eventually defeat the darkness, and that is the essence of what we need to believe in, to protect and defend, no matter how dark things may seem.

With that in mind, I wish all of you a Merry and Blessed Christmas. Celebrate it with peace and joy, faith and family, prayer and reverence...because among other things, it is a celebration not only of our freedom, but an acknowledgement of where it derives from.

A Good Example Of How Islamist Apologists Lie About What's In The Bible

I frequently find that Islamist apologists ( and many atheists) have a cute if deplorable habit - they attempt to rationalize or make trivial the brutality committed in the name of Islam by citing out of context Biblical verses to show that 'all religion is the same' or that the Qu'ran and the Bible are similar.

Here's a good example I'd thought I'd share with you that appeared in the comments section of a Breitbart Article about the scandal of Muslim pedophile rape gangs in Rotherham, UK and the local police and government's deliberate and knowing failure to deal with it in the name of political correctness while over 1,400 young British girls were victimized.

In response to a statement that there's nothing in the Bible that allows this kind of behavior, one 'Dr. Polidori' responded:

"... kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, save alive for yourselves." - Numbers 31:17-18

Sounds pretty damning, doesn't it? At least until you know the whole story.

This verse specifically refers to the Midianites and it is not a guide to behavior towards any other  people or wars in the future. Numbers 25 tells how the Midianites, specifically the women, led the Israelites astray into worshiping the idol Baal, and kindled G-ds anger so that He struck the Israelites with a plague, which only ended when Pinchas, the grandson of Aaron, killed an Israelite man and the Midianite woman he brought into his family (Numbers 25:6-9).

That's why the women 'who had lain with man' were to be killed but the ones whom hadn't were spared. Moses was concerned that the Midianite women 'who had lain with men', including Israelites would corrupt the Hebrew nation and lead them into sin and idolatry again.

This verse also implies ('save alive for yourselves') that the Isrealites took the Midianite virgins as spoils and sex slaves. Nothing could be further from the truth.

For one thing, it would have been sinful for the Israelite men to rape the Midianite girls because rape was (and still is) abhorrent and sinful to G-d (Deuteronomy 22:23-28, esp. 25).

And secondly, the Torah, unlike the Qu'ran with its' 'What thy right hand possesses' doctrine (Qu'ran 4:24) specifically forbids such behavior.

In Deuteronomy 20-14, it states explicitly that female captives are NOT to be raped or sold into slavery but to shave their heads and cut their nails ( to make them less desirable to their captors) and are to be allowed 30 days to mourn without being enslaved,molested or coerced in any way - after which they are free to leave or to be married to their captors.

Only a truly perverse mentality would attempt to rationalize what's being done in the name of Islam by promulgating a vile lie about something that was actually an attempt to mitigate the fate of women captured in war and their status as booty.

The usual disclaimer..many Muslims likewise would never indulge in the sort of behavior  characterized by Qu'ran 4:24  and numerous other places in the Qu'ran and Hadiths. But the fact remains that there is definitely a religious justification for this treatment of women, especially non-Muslims, and that a substantial number of Muslims adhere to that interpretation of Islam, including many prominent imams,  Qaddis, clerics and scholars of both Sunni and Shi'te Islam.

We see this in action every day, and until we admit it instead of rationalizing it, it's going to not only continue but to become even more blatant.

Cheerleaders, G-d And Civil Disobedience

 

Oneida High School in Oneida, Tennessee ended prayers before athletic events because they were afraid of the possibility of lawsuits after pressure from the ACLU and atheist organizations like the Freedom From Religion foundation. So they stopped the usual broadcasting of the Lord's Prayer, otherwise known as Psalm 23 (written by King David) over the PA and substituted a 'moment of silence' instead.The school's decision didn't resonate well with the students and much of the community.

What happened next is simply heartwarming.

The next Friday night football game, the school's cheerleaders in a body used that 'moment of silence' to lead the assembled crowd and the athletes in Psalm 23.

“We need prayer for so many reasons especially in our community now and the troubles we face every day,” said junior Kayla King.

“During the moment of silence all the cheerleaders came together and recited the Lord's Prayer,” King explained.

Cheerleader Captain Ally Meyers said she was "emotional" when she learned that prayers could no longer be recited over the PA system. She said the cheerleaders decided to keep it going on their own, and the whole crowd joined in.

"Our community needs God in it, especially at football games. We pray for the safety of each and every player out there and the cheerleaders and the fans for the drive home," she said.

“In that moment the atmosphere was kind of great because it was nothing but heads bowed, and you heard the Lord's Prayer ring over the football field,” said King.

It must have been quite a moment.

And here's the irony. While the outside groups trying to impose their version of secular tyranny were looking to limit prayer, they had the opposite effect. Instead of one person reading Psalm 23 over the PA, there are now hundreds of people reciting it, and receiving an enhanced spiritual charge from a wonderful act of civil disobedience.

Contrary to what you've heard, there is no legally mandated 'separation' of religion and state, and that entire belief is based on a couple of highly questionable decisions from the ultra-Left Warren Court. But for those of you whom claim there is, here's a test.

If you think reading a Judeo-Christian prayer over a PA system at a non-mandatory school event is 'unconstitutional', do you feel the same way about the adhan, the Muslim call to prayer? That consists of a statement of Islam's superiority and other religion's inferior status broadcast publicly through PA systems at often earsplitting volume where people are forced to listen to it even if they are non-Muslims.



Funny thing...I haven't heard of any letters to mosques telling them to ditch broadcasting the adhan...not even so much as one threat of an ACLU lawsuit, have you? The muscular secularists at the ACLU or the Freedom From Religion Foundation seem to have plenty of courage when it comes to Judeo-Christian practices and institutions, but somehow they aren't lining up to file suits against mosques that are openly even more intrusive when it comes to broadcasting their religious beliefs in the public sphere.

If you're going to go after Oneida High School and not the mosques and their minarets, that is selective enforcement, a polite name for bigotry. It really is that simple.

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert Asks Netanyahu To Call For A Day of 'Prayer and Fasting' To Protect Israel

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert is a long time friend of Israel and the Jewish people. Here he relates while speaking at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention how he asked Israeli PM Benyamin Netanyahu to call for a national day of prayer and fasting to protect Israel.

Gohmert told the audience that he told Netanyahu that the United States was pushing Israel “into a corner,” (referring to the Obama Administration's pressure for concessions to Abbas and the Palestinians) and warned Israel was going to see “a couple of crises this year.”

Gohmert said he told Netanyahu that he should call for nationwide prayers.

“And I know you’ve got secularists, and I called off a couple, that you have to deal with here and tell them this is not for you, it is only for people who believe, but I’m declaring a national day of prayer and fasting in this crisis for G-d’s direction and protection, and for all of those who believe,” he explained. “And I said, I promise you God will answer that prayer, the secularists will hear, the world will see, and even people in the United States will see, and Israel will be blessed because of you doing that.”

I agree with him, and I hope Netanyahu follows his advice.

Kid's Cards For Wounded Vets Refused By VA Because they Mention 'G-d' and 'Christmas'

 

Here's a story for you to ponder.

A group of elementary school kids in North Texas thought it would be a wonderful idea to make some handmade Christmas cards for wounded warriors in a local VA hospital at Christmastime. What happened next is a pretty good sign of what Obama's America has become:

"I'm hoping that it might make their day because their family might live far away, and they might not have somebody to celebrate Christmas with and I'd like them to know they've not been forgotten and somebody wanted to say thank you," said fourth grader Gracie Brown.

Gracie and her brother, Luke, put a lot of thought and effort into their Christmas cards.

"It includes ‘Merry Christmas,' and when you open it up, it says 'Thank you for your service' and the American flag," said Luke.

Fifty-two students at Grace Academy in Prosper spent Friday making the cards they planned to hand deliver to bedridden veterans at the VA hospital in Dallas Monday morning.

When Gracie and Luke's mom, Andrea, found out they wouldn't be able to, she was outraged.

"This wasn't the country I grew up in, when you couldn't say ‘Merry Christmas,' you couldn't say ‘God bless you' or reference any scripture," she said.

The cards were the idea of Susan Chapman, a math teacher at Grace Academy. She's married to a veteran and volunteers with the American Legion and other veterans' organizations.

"It really didn't occur to me there would be a problem with distributing Christmas cards," said Chapman.

She didn't find out about the VA's holiday card policy until she called Monday morning to arrange details for the cards' delivery.

"I told him my students made cards, we'd like to bring them down for the veterans," said Chapman. "And he said, 'That's great. We're thrilled to have them, except the only thing is, we can't accept anything that says ‘Merry Christmas' or ‘God bless you' or any scriptural references because of all the red tape.'" [...]

Parents say as disappointing as this experience was for their children, they're more heartbroken for the veterans.

"They couldn't believe the people that these people they wanted to honor weren't going to get the chance to see what they had done," said Andrea.


Personally, as a non-Christian I can't imagine lying in a hospital as a wounded warrior at any time of year and not being warmed inside by getting this sort of thing from children.

I suspect this policy is likely the work of atheist and virulent anti-Christian activist Mikey Weinstein. President Obama's czar in charge of secularizing the military and eliminating all mentions of G-d and religion, period.

Obviously the servant is doing his master's bidding..the Obama's own 'holiday cards' have no mention of Jesus, G-d or even Christianity.



But they do show the White House dogs, in front of an empty building, which actually says a great deal the president didn't intend. And remember, these cards are being sent out at Christmas time ostensibly from a Christian man and his family.

This kind of wholesale rejection of the principles our nation was founded on is going to come with a price, and I only pray that this is reversed before that price becomes heavier than we can bear.

Duck Dynasty: A&E And Cracker Barrel Cave

The tyranny meted out by GLAAD and other Christian hating groups appears to be backfiring badly.

After the Robertson family announced publicly that it would be unthinkable for them to continue with the top rated show without their patriarch Phil Robertson, the suits at A&E and Disney, who owns them seem to have had a change of heart...especially after feeling the heat from their viewers, ( a 'boycott A&E' Facebook page received over 1.5 million likes in a matter of a couple of days) and very likely after consulting with their lawyers about what their violation of Robertson's civil and First Amendment rights was likely to cost them in court.

Phil Robertson's suspension is apparently over, and he will return to the show in January.No word on whether a fifth season is in the works, but if it works out contractually and the Robertsons are no longer obligated to A&E, don't be surprised if Duck Dynasty appears on a different outlet.

Knowing how these things work, aside from an apology, I wouldn't be surprised if the Robertsons received a cash somethin' somethin' from A&E/ Disney in order to let bygones be bygones and continue the show.

Apparently the owners of Cracker Barrel felt the heat as well for embracing politically correct tyranny.
Just days after they announced they were removing Duck Dynasty products from their stores, they posted this craven apology:

Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:

When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we've done.

You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren't shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.

We listened.

Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.

And, we apologize for offending you.

We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different.

We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family.

Unfortunately for Cracker Barrel, a lot of folks now realize that they can buy the products in question directly from Duck Commander and bypass an outlet like Cracker Barrel entirely.

Embracing tyranny always carries a price.

The Duck Dynasty Witchhunt

I'm not a TV fan, but there's a TV show out there I haven't seen on A&E called 'Duck's Dynasty', that, from what I've heard, is a about a family in Louisiana who openly espouses Christianity and what we could call traditional American values on the air.

The show is a huge, off the charts success in the ratings.

Apparently there's a huge controversy now going on because of an interview the family patriarch, 67-year-old Phil Robertson did with GQ magazine.

Let me underline that...the remarks made were not made on the air, but in a magazine interview several weeks ago.

A lot of the interview, of course, concerned the family's Christian beliefs and Phil's own wild past before he became a Christian. As you can imagine, he sees Duck Dynasty as something of a push back against a lot of what constitutes popular culture today.

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong,” he says. “Sin becomes fine.”

When asked what he considered sinful, he replied:

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

Later in the interview, he made a point of saying that he's not trying to be judgmental, but that these are merely his views as he sees them, saying, " “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

That sentiment on his part didn't change things one iota. His equating homosexuality with sin, just as the Bible he believes in says it is was all it took.

Because of those remarks, he's been indefinitely suspended from the A7E television show.

My friend Terresa Monroe-Hamilton over at The Noisy Room had an excellent take on this:

For telling the truth and stating what he personally believed, A&E put him on indefinite hiatus. They fired him. I would be very surprised if the family did not tell A&E to stuff it. They managed to take THE most popular rated show ever and scuttle it. Phil had told A&E earlier that if they insisted he remove God or guns from his show, they were through [...]

Drudge headlined this whole shameful turn of events on his site this morning with: “Roasted ‘Duck’ – Leader Fired After Gay Rant. The title is misleading as I don’t consider Phil’s statement as a rant, but a confirmation of his beliefs and faith. He has a right according to the First Amendment to state his views. And while A&E has a right to run their channel as they see fit, they obviously care more about the rights of Gays than they do of Christians and they fear the backlash from the LGBT community and their supporters. They don’t give a crap about Constitutional rights and evidently they are willing to throw away millions in revenue to placate a certain segment of society. That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? A&E chose sides with GLAAD, took a stand and walked off a cliff. It’s okay for militant Gays to attack Christians and hunt them down, but when a Christian stands up and says what he believes… well, that’s hate don’t ya know.

She's entirely correct.GLAAD is a far Left group that despises Christians, and was conspicuously noticeable by its absence after Alec Baldwin's anti-gay slurs, which were a whole lot worse than anything Phil Robertson had to say.

Greg over at Rhymes With Right makes the point that firing Phil Robertson is also a blatant violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act:

"It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer - to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual’s race, color, religion, sex, or national origin;"

A&E has made a public announcement to the effect that it has suspended Phil Robertson from his employment on the series Duck Dynasty for having expressed his religious beliefs outside of the workplace. This action certainly "otherwise discrimnate[s] against an individual with respect to his. . . terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of such individuals. . . religion". Will the Obama Administration take action to uphold the civil rights of Phil Robertson in the face of this flagrant and public violation of his rights under the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Or will this be one more example of the administration picking and choosing what laws it enforces based upon whether upholding and enforcing the law benefits those constituencies that support Obama and his political agenda?

Oh,I think we know the answer to that one. There's far too much donor money involved.Would the president and his attorney general be going public and unleashing the Justice Department on A%E if Phil Robertson were a gay man fired for bashing Christianity and extolling the virtues of homosexuality in a private interview ? Would three quarters of the media be going absolutely berserk? I think we know the answer to that one too.

To the people out for Phil Robertson's scalp, this is not a matter of civil rights per se, but a matter of 'our rights trump yours, just because'.

The truth of the matter is that the show and the Robertson family have been 'sitting ducks' for quite some time.They champion everything the Left has been trying to destroy for years - America's traditional culture of Judeo-Christian faith, the Second Amendment, self-reliance, traditional marriage and the nuclear family.

The show's financial success kept the wolves at bay for awhile, but A&E (along with Disney, who owns A&E) have made a business decision to listen to their voices and violate Phil Robertson's First Amendment rights

How that plays out based on the blowback they get from it will be another business decision they'll have to make.

The Religion Of Peace Strikes Again - 80 Killed As Church In Pakistan Is Bombed

All Saints Church in the old quarter of Pehawar, Pakistan was hit by two suicide bombers Sunday morning. The historic church was ripped apart by two bombers carrying 6 kilos of explosives each.

The Jandullah group, a faction of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack

Around 600 people had attended services and were leaving to receive free food being distributed on the lawn outside the building when two explosions ripped through the crowd. 80 were killed including 34 women and 7 children, and scores of people were injured.The explosions were set off by two homicide bombers carrying 6 kilos of explosives each, packed with ball bearings as shrapnel.

The dead were placed in coffins and moved to nearby St. John’s Church, the oldest church in the city. Dozens of grieving relatives gathered, ironically, in the church playground to mourn their dead.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack on the church, saying "terrorists have no religion and targeting innocent people is against the teachings of Islam".

Sharif said such cruel acts of terrorism "reflect the brutality and inhumane mindset of the terrorists".

Unfortunately, the Taliban disagrees with Sharif. They're Muslims, and this was done in the name of Islam as far as their concerned, just like every other attack on Christians. Or Hindus, for that matter. Just ask the people of Mumbai, who were hit by 'authorized' terrorists from Lashkar e Taiba armed and trained by Pakistan's ISI intelligence service.

The odd thing is that the current Pakistani government has been pretty outspoken about wanting peace with the Taliban,  and those offers have remained on the table in spite of repeated attacks on Pakistan's Christians.

It makes you wonder how sincere those condemnations are.

President Obama Insults Christian Parachial Schools

 

This is one of those stories that is huge overseas but is not being reported here at all.

Our president, true to form has gone road trip, ducking  out of Washington when there's real work to be done. He's left  things like the Amnesty bill to capable minions like Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. After hitting the European continent with Michelle and the entourage at the taxpayer's expense, he stopped in at the G8 summit in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

And made a speech at Belfast's Waterfront Hall, where he called Christian parochial schools 'segregated schools' and said:

“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation.”

Needless to say, Catholics and Protestants through out the UK are outraged.

First, the Buffoon-in-chief is obviously ignorant of the major role parochial schools and yes, religious figures played in bringing a degree of peace to Northern Ireland.

And second, riddle me this: most Muslim madrassahs openly teach Islamist superiority, hatred of unbelievers,the suppression of women and death for apostates and homosexuals (it's in the Qur'an). Islamic anti-semitism is so common in mosque sermons both in America and in every Muslim country the president has ever visited as to be a non-story.

Has our president even once referred to mosques or madrassahs as institutions that 'encourage division and discourage cooperation'? Not to mention the sort of rhetoric regularly issuing out of Reverend Wrights' church in Chicago that he was a member of for two decades?

It's bad enough he's attempting to violate the First Amendment rights of religious institutions here in America.Now he has to thoughtlessly insult them overseas.And selectively. He'd never say anything remotely critical of Muslim institutions at home or abroad.

In terms of academic achievement and producing moral and well educated citizens, America's Jewish and Christian parochial schools eclipse the much better funded public schools in America to an alarming degree, at far less cost per pupil.

It would be refreshing if just maybe, President Obama spent some serious time thinking about why parochial schools do such a stellar job instead of gratuitously insulting them.

But I wouldn't hold my breath.

My apologies to Catholics and Protestants in the UK. We unfortunately have a clueless president who doesn't know how to behave when he's in someone else's neighborhood.

Our New Syrian Jihadi 'Allies' Massacre And Behead Christians, Desecrate Churches And Shrines

Our president claims to be a Christian, but apparently can't wait to begin arming, training and funding jihadis as they ethnically cleanse Christians from Syria.

Over 300,000 Christians have already been driven out of Syria, many seeking shelter in the diminishing Carmelite community in Lebanon. The Islamist rebels have especially targeted them, and murders,rapes and kidnappings for ransom abound. most of the Christians in Syria whom remain support Assad, being under no illusions about what their lives under and Islamist Muslim Brotherhood dominated regime would be like.

A few weeks ago, according to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), forces of the Free Syrian Army massacred the population of the Christian-populated al-Duvair village on May 27:

“The armed rebels affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) raided in Reef (outskirts of) Homs near the border with Lebanon today and massacred all its civilian residents, including women and children.The armed rebels' attack and crimes in al-Duvair village came after they sustained heavy defeats in al-Qusseir city which has almost been set free by the Syrian army except for a few districts."

At around the same time, the Syrian rebels reportedly desecrated and destroyed the ancient St. Elijah Orthodox Christian monastery near Al-Qusayr by the Lebanese border.

They ransacked the cloister, destroyed the sanctuary, blew up the belfry and tore down the statue of St. Prophet Elijah after murdering several of the monks and driving the rest off.

And in another reported incident in the predominantly Christian town of Ras Al-Ayn on the Turkish border last December, members of the Syrian Free Army looted the town, kidnapped one man who protested, beheaded him and fed his body to the dogs:

Syrian rebels beheaded a Christian man and fed his body to dogs, according to a nun who says the West is ignoring atrocities committed by Islamic extremists.

The nun said taxi driver Andrei Arbashe, 38, was kidnapped after his brother was heard complaining that fighters against the ruling regime behaved like bandits.

She said his headless corpse was found by the side of the road, surrounded by hungry dogs. He had recently married and was soon to be a father.

Sister Agnes-Mariam de la Croix said: ‘His only crime was his brother criticised the rebels, accused them of acting like bandits, which is what they are.’

There have been a growing number of accounts of atrocities carried out by rogue elements of the Syrian Free Army, which opposes dictator Bashar al-Assad and is recognised by Britain and the West as the legitimate leadership.

Militants wearing black bandanas of Al Qaeda recently laid siege to the Monastery of St James the Mutilated, located between Damascus and Homs, for two days in an attempt to prevent Christmas celebrations, the nun claims.

This blindness isn't limited to President Obama.Exactly the same thing happened to Iraq's Christians under on President Obama's watch and that of another president who made a point of emphasizing his Christian faith, George W. Bush.

The Maronite community in Lebanon is diminishing under Hezbollah's rule,Egypt's Coptic community is under siege as shariah takes over and Christianity is being wiped out in the place it was born.

In fact, there's only one country in the Middle East where Christians do not face vicious persecution and ethnic cleansing and where the Chriastian population is actually growing - Israel.

US weighing Taking In Syrian Refugees

 

The Obama administration is considering resettling thousands of refugees who have fled Syria here in America:

A resettlement plan under discussion in Washington and other capitals is aimed at relieving pressure on Middle Eastern countries straining to support 1.6 million refugees, as well as assisting hard-hit Syrian families.

The State Department is "ready to consider the idea," an official from the department said, if the administration receives a formal request from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, which is the usual procedure.

The United States usually accepts about half the refugees that the U.N. agency proposes for resettlement. California has historically taken the largest share, but Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia are also popular destinations.

U.N. refugee officials, diplomats and nongovernmental relief groups plan to discuss possible resettlement schemes at a high-level meeting this week in Geneva. Germany already has committed to taking 5,000 people.

Naturally, there's the usual bilge about how there would be 'careful vetting of refugees, with multiple interviews and background checks before they are allowed to enter the country.' I think we've already seen how bogus that claim is.

However, I think America could certainly take in some Syrian refugees. I would have one major caveat..that we limit it to Syrian Christians.

In Iraq, we sat back during the occupation (under both Presidents Bush and Obama) and allowed Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims to brutalize and ethnically cleanse Christians while we were touting how we were bringing Iraq 'democracy'. The population has already been reduced by over 50% and is rapidly disappearing.

In Syria, the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda rebels Obama is so hot on helping take over are likewise driving Syria's centuries old Christian community out by force, and no one in the Obama Administration is saying a thing about it...just as they're ignoring the persecution of Christians in Egypt, another place where the Obama Administration helped Islamists take over.

By the way, the one place that is already taking in Syrian Druse and Christian refugees is Israel, the only country in the Middle East where Christians are not viciously persecuted and the only one where the Christian population is actually growing.

The Los Angeles Times article linked above says that there's concern about al Qaeda terrorists sneaking in under the guise of being refugees, something that has already happened with Iraqis who were resettled in America.

If we are going to take in any Syrian refugees, let's limit it to Syrian Christians, who unlike Muslims can't go home again and will face more persecution in countries like Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan where they're already squatting as unwelcome refugees on the UN's dime.

Rear Admiral Vows To Continue Sharing Christian Faith In Spite Of New Obama Admin Orders

Faith in the military is under deliberate assault by the Obama Administration. It's even gotten to the point where the military has brought in Michael Weinstein, Esq., a “religious tolerance” specialist (and hard line atheist) who calls Christians to 'well funded monsters and told FOX news that U.S. troops who proselytize are guilty of sedition and treason and should be punished to stave off a “tidal wave of fundamentalists.”

This is th esame Administration who said that Major Hassan shooting down his fellow soldiers at Ft. Hood while scremaing 'Allahu Akbar!' had nothing to do with Islam and was just a workplace accident.

But some of our brave warriors are apparently not backing down.

One of them is U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. William D. Lee, who was present at the 62nd observance of the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C, as lawmakers and faith leaders gathered on Capitol Hill. Adm. Lee was there to represent Americans serving in the military.

When he ascended to the microphone, Adm. Lee told the crowd he had 10 minutes of carefully prepared remarks, but he decided to leave them in his chair and “speak from the heart” instead.

Describing himself as “a man of deep abiding faith who happens to wear a uniform,” the admiral then went on to announce his intention to defy any efforts to stop military personnel from openly sharing their Christian faith.]

Lee went on to cite last year’s record high number of military suicides, 349—roughly one per day—and said every 65 minutes a military veteran will take his or her own life. “I want you to remember that number,” he said.

He told the story of a recent meeting with a 24-year-old soldier who had attempted suicide but survived his self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. When he heard the man’s story, Admiral Lee told his audience that he knew the rules said he should send the man to a chaplain, but his heart said to give him a Bible.

“The lawyers tell me that if I do that, I’m crossing the line,” Lee said. “I’m so glad I’ve crossed that line so many times.”

Lee pledged not to back down from “my right under the Constitution to tell a young man that there is hope.”

The Obama Administration's assault on Christianity in the military has taken insidious forms, including threats by the Pentagon that they may court martial Christian soldiers who share their faith and actual Army reserve training materials listing believing Christians as 'extremists':



Part of the agenda of President Obama and the Left appears to be attempting to corrupt the one institution so far that resisted their attempts to do so. The repeal of 'Don't ask, don't tell' and the hollowing out of our military through forced early retirement and sequestration cuts was just the beginning.For an active duty admiral to profess his faith publicly like this was an act of uncommon courage.

There comes a time to stand, and warriors like Adm. Lee are showing the way to thousands of others. With their courage and G-d's grace, they will succeed.

Truly heart rending. The mob screams "Nasara! Nasara! (Christians! Christians!) as they grab the screaming women ( there are two women, one who apparently is the younger woman's mother who tries to protect her but is brutally knocked out of the way). The mob then begins stripping the young woman and then follows up with triumphant yells of "Allahu akbar" (Allah is greatest) as the rape continues.

These are the people we keep giving jizya to and trying to appease and accommodate. That's as futile as this poor woman trying to escape her fate by appealing for mercy.

Coptic Christians Attacked And Under Siege By Mob In Cairo Cathedral

St Mark’s Coptic Cathedral in Cairo is not just any Coptic place of worship. It is the main Coptic religious site in Egypt, and the place where Pope Tawadros II, the leader of the Coptic Church lives.

Last night hundreds of Copts were besieged inside the cathedral after a funeral procession for five Copts who were killed during violent clashes in a north Egyptian town on Saturday was attacked by a Muslim mob.

Almost a hundred were injured and Mahrous Hana Tadros, a Christian, was killed in clashes outside the Cathedral while Copts who took cover in the cathedral compound itself were attacked with rocks, bottles, Molotov cocktails and even firearms.

Last night President Morsi issued a statement insisting that he had spoken to Pope Tawadros II, the leader of the Coptic church, and had given orders for the cathedral and citizens to be guarded. In practice, it worked out quite differently. Not only did the riot police who were supposed to protect th ecathedral not stop the mob, they actually teargassed the Christians trapped inside the compound.

Earlier, witnesses described how they were attacked by locals from Abbasiyya, the north-east Cairo neighbourhood where the cathedral is located. After being hit by rocks from the roofs of nearby buildings, the mourners were reportedly forced back into the cathedral compound.

Wael Eskandar, an Egyptian blogger who attended the funeral, said he saw people being showered with broken bottles from the roof of an apartment block opposite. After being attacked, he said, the people “started racing out of the side street and destroying the nearby cars”. He added that he was not sure if those attacking the vehicles were mourners. As night fell the streets around St Mark’s were echoing to the sound of gunshots and exploding tear gas canisters. Young men on either side of the 18ft-high compound wall exchanged a continuous hail of rocks and broken masonry. Others hurled Molotov cocktails and let off fireworks.

The security forces positioned outside the cathedral launched volley after volley of tear gas into the compound. Some of the thousands of onlookers gathered in the road cheered as the canisters rocketed towards Christians perched on the walls overlooking the main street.

The mob finally dispersed after Muslims started firing shots inside the cathedral and the trapped Christians responded with birdshot from weapons they had secreted inside.

 The Quasi official Al-Ahruman do the rmedia  continue to describe the attackers as “unknown assailants” while Egypt’s Interior Ministry blamed the Christian mourners for the violence and said the riot police intervened to stop it. That's doesn't match eyewitness accounts,but at this point, it really doesn't matter. Here's a video of those 'unknown assailants' chanting Allah Akbar as they attack the cathedral:



It's pretty much what I've written before - Egypt no longer has Jews, so the Christians are the next in line to be plundered, raped and eventually driven out. There's an odd, poetic justice in that, and a lesson to be learned. when the Jews were driven out of Egypt after everything they owned was stolen in the 1950's, the vast majority of Copts were at best indifferent and at worst active participants. Not only that, but in an effort to be 'more Egyptian than th eEgyptians' a lot of them eagerly engaged in the endemic anti-Semitism that pervades Egypt.

Now, unfortunately, it's their turn.

The Coptic population is already down from 40% to less than 10% and you can expect those of them whom can to leave before it's too late.

Appeasement never works, and Islam has never played well with others. With an Islamist regime in power, what's going on now with Egypt's remaining Christians shouldn't be unexpected.

Their choices are to leave, convert or live as dhimmis with no rights whatsoever, to pay jizya (onetary tribute) to the Muslim and to feel themselves subdued, exactly how the Hadiths record Mohammed told his followers to treat infidels before he died in 632 CE.

The New Muslim Way Of Dealing With Non-Muslim Business Competition - Murder?

 

There's a long history of Muslims brutally murdering non-Muslim clergy or anyone preaching or carrying something like a Bible. But here are a couple of incidents showing how this appears to be broadening to include any non-Muslims who are too successful in business in Muslim majority countries as well.

In the Muslim majority East African country of Tanzania, a popular Christian pastor was beheaded as a message to Christians by Muslims who demand that Christians accede to total Islamization of the meat industry:

The 11 February 2013 beheading in Geita, of Pastor Mathayo Kachili of the Tanzania Assemblies of God Church (TAG) has its source in a debate presently raging in Tanzania.

Apparently it is a "long-standing tradition" in Tanzania that Muslims have a monopoly on the meat industry.

Recently however, Christians in Geita district, Mwanza region -- on the southern shores of Lake Victoria -- have entered the butchery trade, causing outrage amongst Muslims.

Tensions escalated over several months until, in early February, the Minister of State in the President's Office responsible for social relations, planning coordination, Mr Stephen Wassira, travelled to Mwanza to meet with Christian and Muslim leaders in an effort to defuse tensions.

According to The Citizen (7 Feb), Mr Stephen Wassira categorically directed that the task of slaughtering animals for public consumption should be executed only by Muslims. He said that people of other faiths may slaughter animals if the meat is solely for family/private consumption – but certainly not for sale to, or consumption by, the general public.

Mr Wassira declared that, should non-Muslims want to go into the meat business, then the slaughtering must be done according to Islamic tenets and rituals. "In effect," writes Karl Lyimo of the Citizen, "the minister has barred non-Muslims from the meat business – unless and until they are ready, willing, able and glad to follow the Islamic rituals to the letter."

Lyimo continues: "Reportedly, religious leaders of the Christian faith were barred by the regional government from making a public statement on the matter for fear of agitating their followers against the 'Wassira Proclamation'. In the event, priests have called upon their followers to 'retaliate' by boycotting 'Muslim-oriented' butcheries – and are planning to seek judicial intervention via the courts system."

Halal slaughtering involves killing the animal while reciting a prayer to Allah. There's no way a non-Muslim could do this without converting. Even worse, if a non-Muslim recited this prayer and then continued to follow a different religion other than Islam, he would be an apostate and could be murdered for that too.

There are numerous reports of Christians who were 'doing too well' in business facing violence and intimidation in places like Egypt, Iraq, Syria, the Sudan, Indonesia, and elsewhere in the Muslim world.

In Pakistan, Muslims axed to death a Christian rival in the potato business when he refused to convert.

As the world recession continues (particularly in Islamic and Muslim majority countries without oil wealth)we will undoubtedly see more of this, especially since the Jews are no longer available.

It's well worth remembering that historically, Islam's economy stagnated once they were stopped from plundering fresh lands. In fact, until oil was discovered, refined and exported by westerners, Muslim countries were largely economic backwaters.

UNESCO Turns The Same Church Over To Palestinians That PLO Desecrated During Intifada

You simply can't make this stuff up.

As you might remember, the 'Palestinians' were elected to UNESCO last year, even though they're not a member on the UN and the charter forbids that sort of thing.

The consequences of that decision just became evident.

The Church of the Nativity, located in Bethlehem, a particularly sacred spot to Christians, is built over the spot where Jesus is supposed to have been born.

Today, UNESCO's World Heritage committee voted to name the church an endangered spot - in 'Palestine', and under the control of the 'Palestinian Authority'.

Normally, there's an 18 month review period for this kind of status, but the rules were bent for the 'Palestinians' and this was immediately brought to a vote:

Palestinian spokeswoman Hanan Ashrawi said the vote was an affirmation of Palestinian sovereignty over the site that marks the place where Christians believe Jesus was born.

Israel angrily denounced the vote, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Ilana Stein saying the decision "has turned UNESCO into a theater of the absurd."

"This is a sad day for the World Heritage Committee," she said.

The 21-member committee, meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia, voted 13-6 to include the church and pilgrimage route, located in the Israeli-controlled West Bank, on its list of sites. There were two abstentions.{...}

The U.S. ambassador to UNESCO, David Killion, said the United States is "profoundly disappointed."

The reason the 'Palestinians' gave for the fast tracking was that the Church of the Nativity was in desperate need of repairs - which of course was Israel's fault.

Actually, Bethlehem is in a part of Judea that is totally under the control of the 'Palestinian' Authority since Oslo.

You see, the 'Palestinian' Authority has been in de facto charge of Bethlehem and this Church for a long time already, and what's happened since they took over is worth examining:

One of the first things Arafat and the mafiosos known as the Palestinian Authority did after the Israelis handed them control of Gaza and a large chunk of the West Bank was to adopt Islam as its official religion, put sharia Islamic law codes into place and allow officially appointed Palestinian Muslim imams and clerics to demonize both Christian and Jewish `infidels' in its mosques and the media. And Arafat and the Palestinian Authority took steps to eliminate any Christian majorities where they still existed.

Since the Palestinian Authority took over Bethlehem in 1995 under the Oslo Accords with Israel, Bethlehem has been transformed from a majority Christian city into a Muslim city. The few Christians left in the city now cling to their homes at the sufferance of the majority Muslim population.

In 1996, as an example, Arafat fired Bethlehem's Christian mayor and totally redistricted Bethlehem, redefining its municipal boundaries so that they included many nearby Muslim villages. Overnight the Christian population found itself reduced from an 80 percent majority to a minority, with little control over anything. Arafat placed Christian sites like the Church of the Nativity under the direct control of the Islamist Palestinian Authority rather than under the control of Palestinian Christians.

Bethlehem has gone from an 80% Christian population to less than 8% since the Palestinian Authority took over.

And that was back in 2007, five years ago. There are even less Christians now. And as far a repairs go, sharia demands that dhimmi non-believers get permission before any repairs or restoration are made. As you can imagine, this is a low priority for Muslims, especially in view of the ongoing ethnic cleansing.

Another thing few of the stories covering this mention is the last full scale interaction between 'Palestinians' and The Church of the Nativity.That happened in April of 2002, during the Second Intifada, when about fifty of Arafat's al-Aksa Martyr's brigade thugs who were fleeing from the IDF invaded the Church and took everyone inside hostage.They looted the facilities, desecrated the church and even reportedly used Bibles and hymnals as toilet paper.

One document later captured by the Israelis in Ramallah during the siege of Arafat's headquarters in the Muqatah showed that Arafat's terrorists also extorted money out of Bethlehem's Christians by threatening to destroy the church.

It's important to recognize that to the 'Palestinians', this is a religious victory as well as a political one. That's exactly why the three churches that act as custodians of the site, Greek Orthodox, Armenian and Roman Catholic were so fiercely opposed to this move.

They know what's likely to happen when Muslims have full control over a Christian Holy site.

The real fireworks will start when the 'Palestinians' demand recognition of Jewish and Christian Holy sites in other parts of Judea and Samaria, and in Jerusalem. This is just the beginning.

Actually, Christians themselves should take this as a cue to do exactly what Muslims do in these circumstances to defend what's theirs. I'm afraid that's all that's likely to save the church that sits on the spot where Jesus was born. Unless that happens, one day Christians are going to find that the 'Palestinian' Muslims have turned the Church of the Nativity into a mosque.

Silent Scream;The Sudan Ethnically Cleanses Its Christians

The government of the predominantly Muslim nation of Sudan has stripped its 500,000 to 700,000 Christians of citizenship and has put them on notice that they have one week to leave the country. Even sub-jim crow dhimmi status is to be denied them.

According to an ENI report, the government of Sudan has declared that all whose “parents, grandparents or great grandparents [were] born in the South Sudan or [who] belong to any southern ethnic group” are no longer citizens of Sudan and must leave the Sudan by April 8..or else.

There's more to this than meets the eye, of course.

The Sudan has always been a borderland between Arab and black African, between slavemaster and slave. And increasingly, between Muslim and Christian. During the decades long jihad by the Sudan between the early 1980 and today against the black Africans to the east in Darfur and in the south, conservative estimates put the death toll at over 2 million.The Sudan's President Omar Al-Bashir has already been indicted by the International Criminal Court for genocide, something the Arab League has thumbed their collective noses at, with al-Bashir is able to freely attend meetings and travel all over the region without fear of arrest. The charges he was indicted for, the mass rapes, the slavetaking, the wanton murders make what's going on now in Syria look like a particularly sedate bridge party.

In July 2011, the jihad officially ended when the largely Christian South Sudan achieved independence, although sporadic attacks by al-Bashir's military and aircraft still continue in places like the Nuba Mountains and along the South Sudan borders.

Due to the discord caused by the breakaway, al-Bashir is under pressure to turn the Sudan into a extremist fundamentalist, Muslim Brotherhood ruled Islamist state.

The key figure involved is a Muslim cleric by the name Hasan al-Turabi, who leads the Sudanese branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Turabi is an interesting figure, rather like our old friend the late and unlamented Imad Mugniyeh in that he has the ability to transcend the usual Sunni/Shiah divide and stay on good terms with a lot of different players and factions.

Al-Turabi comes from an influential and wealthy family and has a legal background, having studied at Khartoum University, the University of London and, finally, at the Sorbonne in Paris.

As what passed for the Sudan's attorney general, al-Turabi has been credited both with starting the civil war by forcing the introduction of sharia law into the Sudan in 1983 and with providing its religious wrapping, that of jihad.It was al-Turabi's brother-in-law, Sadeq al-Mahdi, was the Sudan's dictator during the early stages of the civil war from 1985 until 1989, when the current strongman Lt.-Gen. Omar al-Bashir overthrew al-Mahdhi in a military coup with al-Turabi's assistance.

In the past, he's been an ally of secular dictators like Saddam Hussein, as well as terrorist groups like al-Qaeda. He was on good terms with Osama bin Laden (bin-Laden reportedly was married to one of Turabi's nieces), remains on excellent terms with current al-Qaeda head Ayman Zawahiri and was instrumental in inviting them to come to the Sudan and set up training camps during the Clinton years.

He's also on good terms with Shiite entities like Iran and Hezbollah, and was instrumental in cementing the alliance between Iran and the al-Bashir regime.

The Iranians already have an arms factory in the Sudan to supply Hamas and their allies in Somalia, Yemen and Central Africa. If my sources are correct, they also maintain training camps staffed by Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah members, some of whom have been killed by Israeli air strikes on arms convoys headed north in the desert towards Sinai and Gaza.

What al-Turabi and his allies want from Bashir is a full on Muslim Brotherhood- ruled sharia state, comparable to Iran, Gaza,Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan under the Taliban.

After South Sudan seceded, the Islamists demanded that Bashir implement this, and have pledged to drive him from power if he doesn't. They formed a party headed by al-Turabi known as the Islamic Constitution Front and drafted a sharia-based constitution that the imam of Khartoum’s Grand Mosque endorsed saying Bashir must “either rule by Islam or go.”

Picture if you will the beginnings of a Muslim Brotherhood ruled caliphate, with Libya and the Sudan's oil wealth combined with Egypt and Gaza's ' manpower and strategic locations..especially if it's allied with a Shi'ite bloc consisting of Iran, Lebanon and Syria.

That's what al-Turabi has been working for and what he may end up being instrumental in creating.

The ethnic cleansing of over half a million Christians is only a first step.

What's notable about this is the hideous silence. There's little or nothing being reported in the media on this. For all the noise about the new Responsibility To Protect Doctrine that was evoked on Libya, the United Nations has nothing to say about what's happening in the Sudan, even though it violates the organization's own charter.

No one is talking about a no-fly zone to protect black Christians under air attack in South Sudan by the Bashir regime, even though our huge air base in Djibouti is within flying distance. The infamously misnamed UN Human Rights Commission is preoccupied with Israel to the point of derangement, and the Muslim countries running it will see to it that it stays that way.

And President Obama is utterly silent. No speeches, no talk of sanctions or aid to the Sudan's Christians, not even any outrage expressed ....not a word.

I've been following what's been going on in the Sudan for quite some time. For all the demonization of Western Imperialism so popular these days, it was those hated imperialists that largely destroyed the slave trade in the 1870's and brought a measure of peace, civil order and decency to the country for a brief time. It is our supposedly more modern and compassionate societies that have seen the horror that has gone on in Darfur and in the South Sudan and done nothing...except react with silence.

That silence comes from fear of offending Islam, no matter how egregious and hateful the actions of a significant number of its followers become and no matter how deeply those actions offend our civilized norms. In the case of President Obama, it undoubtedly comes from his administration's deep seated policy of encouraging Islamists, specifically the Muslim Brotherhood. It reminds me of nothing so much as the1930's, when the appeasers in Britain and here in our own country reacted with the same indifference while Hitler armed his legions for conquest and ethnically cleansed Germany's Jews.

There will be a price for us ignoring the cries of our brothers. I believe in a just G-d who does His own accounting in His own time, and the Christians of the Sudan are going to be set down in those eternal records as a debt for us to pay in the future. We may not care for what that repayment, with interest entails.

When Rabbis Turn Bigot

Denver Bronco's Quarterback Tim Tebow is one notorious fellow these days.Imagine...someone who not only made fools out of his critics in the best way possible, but is *gasp!* a believing Christian who openly professes his faith and is unashamed about it.

Apparently that was just too much for Rabbi Joshua Hammerman.He wrote an amazing bigoted screed in the publication Jewish Week ( since pulled from both Jewish Week and his blog, but Yid With Lid has it here) saying that if Tebow, who he refers to as "a poster boy of the Christian right" led the Broncos to the Superbowl, Christian mobs would be indulging in "burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants."

According to Rabbi Hammerman, a Broncos Superbowl victory would "give fodder to a Christian revivalism that has already turned the Republican presidential race into a pander-thon to social conservatives, rekindling memories of those cultural icons of the ‘80s, the Moral Majority and “Hee Haw.” "

From the above, you can tell exactly whom Rabbi Hammerman is pretty easily....a self-identified, hate-filled 'progressive' who heads a left leaning synagogue in a deep blue state, a member of the George Soros funded J-Street Rabbinical council and undoubtedly part of Rabbis for Obama, which he means he was likely one of the rabbis partaking in one of those conference calls with the Dear Leader telling him how to work talking points for ObamaCare and voting Democrat into his High Holidays sermons. In other words, George Soros and the Left own him body and soul.

As far as I'm concerned, after what he wrote, it's a testimony to what a force for good Christianity is in this country and how tolerant most Americans are of their Jewish fellow citizens that some of those Christians he demonized didn't react violently to his poisonous diatribe.One can only imagine what would have happened if he had written the same thing about a Muslim athlete. But Christians?They represent a soft and easily maligned target.

Both Rabbi Hammerman and Jewish Week - a notoriously left leaning publication, where Rabbi Hammerman and his ilk are regular contributors - ran apologies after they saw the reaction this got, from Christians and from Jews who have stopped drinking the Kool-Ade. Rabbi Hammerman's 'apology' in particular was an afterthought as his initial smirking reaction ( also since removed) was: "my Tebow piece is generating the expected outrage from the evangelical right (cant' wait for Jews to begin chiming in!)".

As far as I'm concerned, both apologies were inadequate.

There's an old Chassidic story about a Jew in a small village in Poland who passed rumors and slandered the local rabbi and later found out what he had said was totally unjustified. Approaching the rabbi, the man apologized and asked how he could repair the damage he had done.

The rabbi instructed him to take a pillow filled with feathers and walk to the top of a local hill with him. When they reached the top the rabbi instructed him to cut it open.

After the feathers had scattered, the rabbi then told the man to gather them back up and replace them in the pillow case. "That would be impossible rabbi", the man replied.

"Yes", the rabbi told him, "And it will likewise be impossible to repair the damage you have done to me."

One of Judaism's central tenets is to avoid Lashon Hara, literally 'an evil tongue'. Perhaps they skipped that concept where Rabbi Hammerman went to seminary.

As a Jew and a non-football fan, it not only embarrasses me that someone with the temerity to style himself 'rabbi' would write this sort of thing, but it also strikes me as the height of ingratitude.

America, by and large has always blessed its Jews, as opposed to Europe. There has always been a certain amount of Jew hatred present, but the difference was that is was never a matter of law, never a matter of government policy. There were never ghettos where Jews were literally locked inside at sundown, and no quasi-legal pogroms in America as there were in Europe,with the police turning a blind eye while Jews were raped, pillaged and slaughtered.

Even in the 1920's and later, when there were de facto quotas on admitting Jews to universities and restrictions on buying homes in many areas, when many major firms in law, insurance, and manufacturing refused to hire them, America always provided its Jewish citizens with a way upward.

They were always free to worship as they chose, and have been since George Washington wrote a letter to the Jewish congregation in Newport Rhode Island saying that the children of Abraham would always be welcome here.

Most Jews have amply repaid that generosity of spirit, and the role of America's great and accomplished in every field reflects a contribution that far outweighs their numbers. It even extended to popular culture. Back when the Jews actually owned Hollywood, they made movies that celebrated not only America's history and its greatness but its Judeo-Christian roots. It was a Russian Jewish child who witnessed his family's home being burned to the ground in a pogrom who later immigrated to America and went on to write not only "God Bless America" but "White Christmas" and "Easter Parade".

But then, there are Jews like Joshua Hammerman.

The normal reaction of a man of G-d to a young athlete whose fame is based on his courage in openly showing his gratitude and his allegiance to the Almighty no matter what anyone thinks about it would be admiration and applause.

But then, Rabbi Hammerman's true allegiance isn't to G-d, but to the Left.

Since my Christian friends are unlikely to get the teshuvah ( repentence) and apology from Joshua Hammmerman they deserve, please allow me to apologize humbly in his stead from the bottom of my heart. He is a bigot and an embarrassment to my faith, and indeed to the Judeo-Christian values of America most of us hold dear.

I realize many of you will forgive him, but I can't. Unlike those famous Romans, he knew exactly what he was doing.
