This American would like to extend a heart felt thank you to our Canadian friends who have greatly assisted in our time of need. You will not be forgotten ny me and many others.

I dn't want to minimize this great achievement but it knocks them off balance only in this area. The Al Qaeda/taliban threat seems to pop up in other areas in the country. There simply are not enough troops to secure the country and we have not eliminated the sancturies in Pakistan. Until this is done I do not see how we can have a decisive victory.

Some semblance of victory in Afghanistan is absoultely crucial. If we fail, the United States will likely be finished as a major power and the very survival of the country will be in an even more precarious position than it is already in. The free world without the USA would be in an extremely bad position.

Right now we cannot even get NATO countries to honor their committments to Afghanistan!! If NATO cannot honor its committments, it needs to be disbanded.

Some time ago, the general in charge of the Afghan theatre said he needed about 400,000 troops to complete the mission. If each NATO member were to add about 20,000 or so combat troops, that should be all that we would need. The enemy we fight in Afghanistan poses a greater threat to the United States and at least as great a threat to the free world as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan posed. Its long past time that we do what needs to be done to win.

Again, many thanks to the Canadians for their valuable assistance in our time of need. You will not be forgotten.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
