Blanket amnesty is the absoulte worst possible idea. With this approach we would be getting a vast new group of immigrants who care nothing about America but only wish to take advantage of the generous social programs offered by the country. This would utterly bankrupt and destroy the economy of the country making it ripe for takeover by its enemies and/or those wishing to steal its natural resources.

But hey, someone got a vote from these people!! Never mind the fact that it will destroy the country. Perhaps the leaders forgot to think beyond the next election cycle. As stated elsewhere, America's leadership class, on the whole, seems to have gone insane!!

If we are ever serious about solving this problem, it is so large it probably cannot be solved all at once. The best places to begin will be to: 1.)secure the borders and 2.)place a 10 year moratorium on all immigration. Immigration from Islamic countries should be indefinite. They wish us harm. It makes little sense to invite someone into your house who wishes to harm you.

The moratorium on immigration would give the immighrants already here space to assimilate into their new country and perhaps more importantly it would allow us breathing space to fix our broken immigration system.

If we need workers with certain skill sets that are unavailble in America, we can look at some type of guest worker program whereby those immigrants are closely monitored. Other nations do things like this. Perhaps something like that can work for us.

The wisdome to realize that one can have an immigration society or a welfare state but not both is one of the most profound realizations of all time. Milton Friedman was truly one of the wisest people who have ever lived. People, especially those in leadership positions, would do well to study him. For example, you are correct when you point out "sorting out who is here..." is a massvive problem, however, as a consequence of avoiding this we have likely already advanced to the point where our only choices are mass amnesty or mass deportations.

Either prospect is "destructive and harmful." Which one is worse? Mass amnesty will lead to a situation where we have mass amounts of people here to take advantage of our social wellfare system who care NOTHING for America. Our country would be utterly destroyed!! On this note, you should be aware that before a nation can be conquered from the outside it must generally be weakened within. On this note, remember Russia feels they have a score to settle with us since the end of the cold war. They might jus take the opportunity to finish the destruction.

If we've advanced to this point, mass deportation, while a "destructive and harmful process" would be less so. At least it gives us a fighting chance to preserve our country and what is left of our unique and specail culture. Perhaps with the negative effects of certain influences removed we might even be able to not only preserve it but to strengthen it!!

Hopefully we have not reached this point yet. You are right it is going to be a VERY difficult job.

I know some where all the governments of the major world powers such as Russia, China, and India while recognizing their nations have serious challenges they are thanking what ever god or gods they believe in that the challenges their nations face are no where near as eevere as those faced by America. Have multiple South African national friends, some of which became Green Card holders (spending plenty of $$$ thus far, how silly) and others who are professionally/technically highly qualified, but whose H-1 visas expired and who had to leave and return home (silly, LAW-ABINDING aliens!) in hopes of returning and eventually becoming U.S. citizens (again, silly LEGAL-route dreamers!). Doing "it" the hard way.

Typical Dem/Prog/Chicago-machine vote-creation run totally amok.

Grrr.....Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10988194376723420616noreply@blogger.com
