Muslim Brotherhood wins stunning victories in 2nd round of Egyptian elections
The Muslim Brotherhood captured 29 more seats in weekend parliamentary runoff elections, meaning that Islamists will control at least five times more seats in the new legislature than it does now. And there are several more rounds of voting to come. AP Wire | 11/27/2005 | Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood wins seats
The election was marked by violence, massive police turnout and undoubtedly by certain `irregularities'. In a real, uncooked election, the Brotherhood would have probably done even better.
Apparently Dubbyah's theory of democracy being an antidote for radical Islam is just a mite flawed in places. Look for an Islamist regime or a military dictatorship once an aging Mubarek dies off.
