Not many people have ever heard of Yasir Arafat's former financial aide, Fuad Shubaki.
To make a long story short, Shubaki was Arafat's accountant, the money guy, one of the only people who knew where all the bodies were buried and all the money was hidden.
Two months ago, the IDF raided a jail in Jericho that was guarded by American and British guards under an international agreement with the Palestinians that was contained the assasins of Israeli cabinet minister Rehavam Zeevi and a few other asorted characters. The American and British monitors evacuated their posts after a U.S.-UK letter to Abbas was sent to the Palestinian Authority accusing them of failing to abide by international agreements or provide the guards with proper security.
Both Abbas and the Hamas government had said they were going to free these people, and when the Americans and British left the Israelis swooped in and took them back to Israel.
One of the men they got was Shubaki...and today he sang for the Shin Bet.
He's providing details and evidence about the fact that Arafat used the money he got from both Israel and international donors for `humanitarian aid' to buy weapons and fund terrorist raids against Israel. SOUND FAMILIAR PEOPLE?? You hear that same drivel about `humanitarian aid' somewhere recently??
Shubaki estimated that $7-10 million were used every two years to purchase arms for the Gaza Strip, and another $2 million were spent on weapons for the West Bank. The money, he said, came from international aid to the PA and tax money Israel routinely transferred to the PA, plus protection money and `taxes' collected in the Gaza Strip.
These amount don't take into account the huge amounts of money that were squirreled away in UAE and European bank accounts by Arafat and the other PA gang bosses.
Shubaki also ratted on several senior Palestinian officials who were involved in the transfer of humanitarian aid money to the War Against the Jews. One of them was one time Bush favorite Jibril Rajoub - head of the PA Preventative Security Force in the West Bank - who got kickbacks along with the other PA bosses for facillitating the arms purchases.
Shubaki's involvement in Arafat's notorious `Karina-A' arms shipment from Iran via Hezbollah is already well known. This huge weapons deal was between Iran and the Palestinians was an attempt to smuggle over 50 tons of heavy weapons aboard the Karine A ship in 2002. Shubaki confirmed what we already knew - that this deal was e transaction was coordinated between the PA, Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Shabaki is still singing to the Shin Bet about other details of where the stolen `humanitarian aid' ended up.
The reality of course, is that the Palestinians are rolling in money..Since it came into existence in 1994, the PA has received more aid per capita than any developing nation in history, more than any single group has ever received - more than the victims of genocide in Sudan or Rwanda, more that the victims of the tsunami in Asia, more than the Iraqis or the Afghans...it's simply unbelievable.
There are over 4,000 Palestinian terrorists who Abbas placed on the PA payroll and Abbas even put 37,000 non-existent jobs on the PA payroll.... something that came out wehen the Saudis made Hamas do an audit before giving them any aid money.
Fatah stongman Muhammad Dahlan has been quoted as admitting that of the $10 billion in international aid that the Palestinians have received over the past 12 years, some $5billion has simply disappeared...as I'm sure he would know firsthand, having directly participated. The World Bank puts it at 48% .
Abbas, who has made a career out of international panhandling and crying over the `humanitarian crisis' of the Palestinians directly controls at least $1.4 Billion in the Palestine Investment Fund alone, none of which he feels needs to be used to alleviate the `plight ' of the Palestinians.
This scam has been going on for 12 years now, no one has remotely suggested that enough is enough, and that's it's time to pull the plug on a second Arab Palestinian State...and you have to wonder why.
My guess is that the Palestinians were simply lucky enough to pick the right enemy.
