Welcome to the new Caliphate: Muslim leaders issue statement of support for Iran nukes
Iran's President Ahmadinejad scored a major coup today at a conference on the Indonesian resort island of Bali , as six major Islamic nation fell into line behind Iran and issued a statement supporting Iran's nuclear program and unlimited unrichment and the rights of nations to develop nuclear energy for `peaceful' purposes. All for the betterment of Dar Islam, of course.
This little bombshell was dropped by the heads of state and prime ministers from Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Turkey and Malaysia and government ministers from Egypt and Bangladesh.
Note the presence of Pakistan on the list, the country that gave Iran much of the technology it needed clandestinely through Dr. AQ Kahn..who Pakistan's Musharref will still not allow the US to interrogate.
Also note the presence of `moderate' so-called US allies Egypt and Turkey. Mubarak is obviously getting closer to abandoning the West altogether and aligning himself with the Islamist bloc, and Turkey's alignment with Iran is no surprise to regular visitors to this site.
Ahmadinejad has gone to great pains to appear reasonable to his fellow Muslims and their fellow travellers in the West. Today he made a point of saying that the west `shouldn't worry' about Iran's nuclear program and that while he was willing to talk to just about anyone about the dispute he would not do so with "countries that hang planes with bombs over our heads."
"If they want to threaten the use of force we will not go into dialogue with them."
Simply astounding that some people can still have any doubt of the war we are engaged in.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also had a few things to say about the 18-page letter he sent to U.S. President George W. Bush this week. Ahmadinejad claimed to reporters in Bali that it was intended to open a ``new horizon'' in relations with the U.S. and had nothing to do with Iran's nuclear program.
He also said - and note the language carefully - that "President Bush was given a historic opportunity. He is free to make his own choice."
As I wrote here, Ahmadinejad's letter to Bush was most definitely not the ravings of a lunatic, but an invitation to dawa, to peacefully accept Islam and it's dominance, a necessary step before declaring a jihad.
"Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya . If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. " (Hadith Sahih Muslim 4294)
Good, solid support for Iranian peace loving mullahs.
ReplyDeleteBTW Chavez also endorses Iran's nukes program.
Hi Links,
ReplyDeleteThis, if nothing else ought to convince the Bush Administration of the fallacy of `moderate' Islamic states and of trying to fiddle with this diplomatically.
It's simply not on.
My main worry is a `Munich' moment, where Bush acquieses to a phoney deal for `peace in our time' and leaves this mess for his predecessor -whilst giving the mullahs another three years to work on their nukes and military.
Oddly enough, a forceful reponse against Iran NOW would bring the rest of these wanna be jihadis into line.
i am not as worried about the munich moment.....it will happen.
ReplyDeleteconference held in bali, huh, what a kawinkydink. wonder if they got any suicide bomber threats?????????
Fighter,
ReplyDeleteMy main worry is a `Munich' moment,
It looks more and more like a reality.
Yes it does. And that's spooky as Dame Edna would say.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Bush wants to add a war with Iran to his legacy. He wants to leave office with the best legacy he can, already a tough call. Leaving a mess for your successor is a presidential tradition. The question on war with Iran is when will it happen? (Not if). The US military could get awful busy. But as a guy who used to have an office in the World Trade Center, right up until, oh Sept. 11th, I say the best defense is a good offense.
ReplyDeleteImagine another Carter after Bush.
ReplyDeleteGod forbids the thought!!!
I have a feeking that events on the ground will intervene before 2008.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, the US is one horrendous terrorist attack away from realizing that we're in a war to the death and reacting accordingly.
Bush's legacy, unfortunately, may be that he had an opportunity after 9/11 to galvinize Americans to fight the war that is inevitably coming our way..and squandered it.
