Two British Muslims arrested in terrorism raid set free

Well, you can't say I didn't warn you.

Today, Britain set free the two brothers arrested in last week's terrorism raids without charge yesterday. Mohammed Abdul Kahar, 23, who was shot and injured in the dawn swoop, and Abul Koyair, 20, wereheld for questioning for a week as officers scoured their house, reportedly looking for a chemical weapon.

Nothing was found in the raid.

What's more, the brothers are talking about bringing suit, and figures of £500,000 for `compensatory damages' are being mentioned.I'm sure the PM's wife Cheri Blair has already contacted them and offered to represent them.

Unlike the Canadian raid, the actions by the British police and counterintelligence appear to have targeted the wrong people.

Another factor in the quick release was the widespread anger and unrest among Britain's Muslims, particularly in Londonistan. There were widespread protests, and the head of Britain's Muslim council,Muhammed Abdul Bari, went as far as to threaten riots in the streets if `justice wasn't done' or if he wasn't personally allowed to review the evidence!

The decision of British security not to have to reveal its investigative tactics over a small and questionable case may also have proven a factor in the early release.

As I said, this appears to be an ill-thought out response by British security to the revelations by the Committee set up to investigate the 7/7/05 tube bombings. Unfortunately, it will intesify those `other pressures' the committee spoke of as a prime reason for the intelligence failure of 7/7, when British security dropped surveillance of two of the bombers they were already investigating prior to the 7/7 bombings.
