An Atlanta federal jury indicted Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, 19, and Georgia Tech student Syed Harris Ahmed, 21, on terrorism charges.
The two men were charged with conspiring to and providing "material support" to "terrorists involved in violent jihad activity" and conspiring to and aiding "a designated foreign terrorist organization."
Evidence links the wanna-be jihadis to Pakistani terorist organization Lakshar-e Tayyiba. According to the indictment, they underwent "physical and rudimentary paramilitary training to prepare for participation in violent jihad" both overseas and in northwest Georgia.
They're also accused of videotaping potential targets, such as the Capitol in Washington, the World Bank headquarters, the Masonic Temple in Alexandria, Va., and "a group of large fuel storage tanks near I–95 in northern Virginia."
This may very well be an offshoot of the Canadian Islamic terrorism bust, as they were accused of traveling to Toronto "to meet in person with other supporters of violent jihad."
Of course, both are here legally. Ahmed is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Pakistan; Sadequee is a U.S. citizen of Bangladeshi descent who was born in Fairfax County but moved to the Atlanta area with his family when he was young, officials said.
Until we start reforming our immigration policies and ending the preaching of jihad in America's mosques and madrassahs, we can count on more of these.
