`Brennt Paris?'
` Jawohl, mein Imam!'
It's hardly being reported, but Muslims in France's housing estates are waging an undeclared "intifada" against the police , with violent clashes injuring an average of 14 officers each day.
According to France's interior ministry, nearly 2,500 officers have been wounded so far this year, and French Police spokesmen told the newspaper Le Figaro that the "taboo" of attacking officers on patrol is a thing of the past.
Police – especially those patrolling in pairs or small groups – are facing violent attacks as soon as they tried to arrest Muslims...and in some cases, they're even facing deliberate ambushes.
Michel Thoomis, the secretary general of the Police trade union, wrote a letter to French Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy warning of an "intifada" on the estates.
He said yesterday: "We are in a state of civil war, orchestrated by radical Islamists. This is not a question of urban violence any more, it is an intifada, with stones and Molotov cocktails. You no longer see two or three `youths' confronting police, you see whole tower blocks emptying into the streets to set their 'comrades' free when they are arrested."
The Ramadan violence now looks to be an annual - and increasing - occurance.
Has france surrendered yet?
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously, has France surrendered yet?
i remember i always used to read steven schwartz(sp).
ReplyDeletei did that as i have always done in an effort to learn.
in this case i was wanting to learn about the different sects of islam. their thinking teaching etc.
i found him to be a block head and if the sufi are as tolerant as he claims they are, and he is sufi, that was all i needed to know about islam.
i stopped reading steven schwartz (sp) when he explained away the french riots, part uno, with the same dismissing attitude that one of the saudi royal family princes made.
