I'm bad....I'm nationwide
Moqtada al-Sadr pulled his ultimate trump card last weekend by ordering the politicians under his orders to exit the Maliki government, which was heavily dependent on them as part of the ruling Shiite coalition.
Six of Maliki's cabinet ministers identified with the Sadrist bloc resigned.
Chairman of Al Sadr’s bloc within the Iraqi parliament, Nassar Al Rubai, claimed that the ministers’ departure was due to al-Maliki’s refusal to set a timetable with a firm date for the withdrawal of foreign troops.
Sounds like they should be Democrats here in Washington?
The Sadrists pulling out of government probably won't cause the maliki government to fall, but it will strain things. The Sadrist bloc has thirty seats in parliament out of the Shiite bloc's ruling majority of 130.
In other news, a coordinated protest of al Sadr's followers took place in Basra, to the south of Baghdad.
Sounds like Mookie is under orders from Iran to create as much chaos as possible.
Meanwhile ten more American soldiers died in strikes north and south of Baghdad over the weekend....
