Sex Slavery in the Islamic Republic
Fundamentalist Islam makes a huge point of being against the 'immorality' of Western culture...but I guess the definition of `immorality' all depends in how you look at it and who's profitting from it, as evidenced by the widespread sex slavery in Iran.
The mullahs have had a great deal of success in controlling society by controlling Iran's women, including a gender segregation and a two tiered system of rights that could only be referred to as (ahem) apartheid.
And yes, there's money in it too. Apparently there is a widespread trade in buying and selling Iranian girls for prostitution and sex slavery.
According to an official source in Tehran, there has been a 600 percent increase in the number of teen-age girls involved in prostitution. In Tehran alone, there are an estimated 84,000 women and girls in the sex trade, with around 250 brothels that reportedly operate in the city. But the big dollars, of course, are in the international trade, with thousands of Iranian women and girls sold into sexual slavery abroad, to the point where it is a major earner of foreign currency.
Government officials themselves are involved in buying and selling women and girls, most of whom come from impoverished rural areas. High unemployment -- 28 percent for youths from 15 to 29 years of age, and 43 percent for women from 15 to 20 years of age is the driving force in luring women to take risky offers as `maids', `dancers' `hostesses' or `secretaries' only to find out too late that they've been sold into sex slavery.
A number of the mullahs, who control every aspect of life in Iran are also reportedly involved in the business.
Popular destinations for victims of the slave trade are the Arab countries in the Persian Gulf, which is where the big money is. According to the head of the Tehran provincial judiciary, traffickers target girls between 13 and 17 (and some reports of girls as young as 8 and 10) to send to Arab countries, where Persian women and girls are in high demand and command a premium price.
no evidence, all speculative bullshit, you don't know what life is like in Iran, you're just chatting shit
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThe source on this is linked from the Persian Journal, and The Freedom House has quite a bit on human trafficking in Iran. So does the UN.
The unemployment figures and Iran's sick economy are also pretty public and I've written on them before.
As for the remarks on excretion..let's leave your mind and persona out of this, OK?
Have a nice day now!
