Muslim Day In New York City
Yesterday, September 9th, two days before the anniversary of 9/11 is the date of the Muslim American Day Parade in New York City.
Ordinarily these `ethnic' parades are happy events, with music and celebration. From what I hear from those who were there, this was a scowling and aggressive march, with very little joy involved...but then, that's partly the nature of the beast, I suppose.
Pamela at Atlas Shrugs was there, and took a few snapshots:
Nothing like letting people know the degree of your loyalty to the US straight off, is there? As I've said before, the nation-state is a western concept, and secondary to the Muslim ummah
Nice to see that works by convicted Islamist terrorists are easily and openly available.
`Work for peace - Ban the Talmud'.. Now, would any Muslim event really be complete without some Jew hatred?
Or some Holocaust denial?
Odd juxtaposition..the black flag of jihad next to the Stars and Stripes.
Dhimmi-itis on parade...that's Democrat congressman Anthony Weiner, marching with the same folks that didn't see fit to ban Jew hatred and un-American sentiments from their march.
I wonder how he felt about that..or if he felt at all?
Speaking of feelings, here's Mayor Bloomberg's form letter reply to someone who expressed concern over this event:
"Dear Mrs. Itskowitch:
Thank you for your recent letter expressing your concerns about the upcoming Muslim American Day Parade.
People have always come to New York from all over the world, bringing different customs, traditions, and faiths. This incredible diversity is one of the things that makes New York the greatest City in the world. New York's Muslim community is a vital part of our city, and it would be terrible mistake for anyone to implicate a whole group of innocent individuals - no matter what their faith - with the terrible acts committed on September 11, 2001.
In the aftermath of the attacks, our City united as never before - and we remain united today, across all ethnicities, races, and religions. I can think of no better response to the terrorists than demonstrating our determination to stand together as New Yorkers and as Americans, celebrating the unity we have found in our diversity.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Bloomberg
Mayor"
Somehow, Mr. Mayor, I get the feeling that a number of these people aren't all that concerned about distancing themselves from the jihadis who pulled off 9/11 in the slightest...or that you're all that concerned about them doing so.
When things like this occur with our acquiesence, I can well understand the Islamists' contempt for us and our civilization.
Thanks to longtime Joshua's Army member Joyce C. for alerting me to this.
We are but one or two steps behind Europe. What's it gonna take to kill PC in America if 9/11 didn't do it??? I guess it will take the inevitable nuclear suitcase bomb "Blackbeard" is a-working on...
