Hoo boy, talk about stacking the deck!
Here's a partial invite list for the planned
List of invitees to Annapolis
Associated Press , THE JERUSALEM POST Nov. 20, 2007
The United States is inviting representatives from more than 40 countries, groups of nations, financial and other institutions and individuals to a Middle East peace conference it will host next week.
US embassies in the invited countries and diplomats accredited to the nonsovereign entities were to be notified as early as Tuesday to request the presence of their host governments at the foreign minister or other appropriate level, according to officials familiar with the process.
The following is a partial list of confirmed invitees, according to those officials, who provided it on condition of anonymity ahead of the formal announcement of the conference to be held on November 27 in-between meetings in Washington:
The United States, host, to be represented by President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Israel, to be represented by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. ( That's scary all by itself!)
Palestinians, to be represented by President Mahmoud Abbas and senior officials.
Members of the international diplomatic "quartet" on the Middle East other than the United States:
The United Nations, to be represented by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The European Union, expected to be represented by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and External Affairs Commissioner Benita Ferraro-Waldner and Portuguese Foreign Minister Luis Amado, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the bloc. ( Solana and Ferraro-Waldner are harsh critics of Israel and pro-Palestinian)
Russia, expected to be represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ( Iran's pal)
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the quartet special representative to the Palestinians. ( need I say more?)
Members of the Arab League committee tasked with pursuing a Saudi initiative for a comprehensive Arab-Israeli peace deal:
Arab League, to be represented by Secretary-General Amr Moussa.
Algeria.
Bahrain.
Egypt.
Jordan.
Lebanon.
Morocco.
Qatar.
Saudi Arabia.
Sudan.
Syria.
Tunisia.
Yemen.
Other Arab nations:
Kuwait.
Iraq.
Libya.
Mauritania.
Oman.
United Arab Emirates. ( that's what a one tenth stake in the Carlyle Group buys you)
Members of the Group of Eight major industrialized countries not included in above categories:
France.
Germany.
Britain.
Canada.
Japan.
Italy.
Other nations:
China.
Norway. ( Norway!!)
Turkey.
Vatican.
Brazil.
Australia.
Financial and other institutions:
International Monetary Fund.
World Bank.
Organization of the Islamic Conference. ( ahhh, Israel bashing central)
This isn't a peace conference...it's a gang rape.
For its involvement in a Middle East "peace process," the United States cannot win for losing. According to Debka sources Al Qaeda believes the upcoming conference is a betrayal of the Palestinians. The deck is clearly stacked against Israel here. It is puzzling how Al Qaeda could possibly view this as favorable to Israel.
ReplyDeleteAlso most of the invitees are enemies of the US. As it stands now, this would be a gang rape not only against Israel but against the United States as well.
Israel should simply say "no" to pressure from the Americans or to pressure from anyone else. Not only have Israeli leaders refused to say "no" to the false peace process they seem to be enthusiastically pursueing it.
Who leads Israel is up to Israelis to decide but from my perspective Israel needs new leadership. For that matter America needs new leadership as well. America and Israel need and deserve leaders who will fight for the interests of their countries and will not try to appease enemies who are bent on their destruction.
If the "peace conference" goes forward it is very likely that both Israel and America will get screwed. The deck is stacked with enemies of both countries.
The Israeli-Palestinian war is a war between Israel and the Palestinians. These are the only relevant parties. It is puzzling why there are so many participants. For example, Norway has no interests what so ever here.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason for so many participants would be if issues that go beyond the Israeli-Palestinian war are to be discussed. From this list of participants, I'm counting at least 25 enemies of the United States here. It seems hard to imagine how any thing good for American interests can come from this.
As far as Israel is concerned, the Holy Scriptures guarantee that it will have an eternal survival. These scriptures contain no such guarantees for the US. The survival of the US is already in grave danger. More concessions to the enemies of America who are involved in this conference will only make the survival of the USA even more precarious.
Surely Congress can do SOMETHING to stop this conference from going forth. They were elected to fight for the interests of the United States. Both Democrats and Republicans should do their duty and act quickly. I don't see how anything good for either Israel or the US can come from this conference. Congress should act now to fight for American interests and do all they can to kill this conference. Failure to do this would be a dereliction of duty on the part of Congress.
Shoher said everything about that ugly peace show http://samsonblinded.org/blog/end-the-arab-occupation-of-the-west-bank.htm
