Farrakhan On Obama
"This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better..This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama's audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed."
"A black man with a white mother became a savior to us...A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall."
The `savior' Farrakhan is referring to is Fard Mohammed, who founded the Nation of Islam and came up with novel concepts like white people as devils created by Satan and the Spaceship that will lift the members of the NOI off the earth when Allah destroys whitey.
These remarks were made during a two hour speech by Farrakhan at the annual Saviours' Day celebration in Chicago.
Obama spokesmouth Bill Burton said in response: "Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support."
Of course, Obama still belongs to a church whose pastor, a man Obama calls his `spiritual mentor' is an outspoken admirer of Louis Farrakhan and honored him with a major award.
Ask yourself...if your church gave an award to say, David Duke, would you still be a member and call the leader of that church your spiritul mentor?
In the face of that, a few polite `objections' look pretty pale in comparison.
And of course, there's also the fact that one is known by one's friends as well as one's enemies. If Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton and a number of officials with CAIR are lauding Obama, doesn't that say something about whom he is, all protestations to the contrary?
I think it does.
The strength of the argument is not what Farrakhan said about Obama, but that Obama has not withdrawn from his church that has so openly praised Farrakhan (and worse). It's Obama's behavior that matters, not so much the behavior of his supporters (though Obama does seem to be a socialist magnet)--for we can find virtuous supporters of his as well. The significance of pointing out Farrakhan's comparing Obama to Fard (who Farrakhan teaches is both the messiah and Allah incarnate), is to let others know what kind of person Obama is unwilling to sufficiently distance himself from in that he has refused to leave his pro-Farrakhan, racist church.
ReplyDeleteExactly,Orde.
ReplyDeleteWonder if Farrakahn read the papers today or watched obamas response to LF gush....went to the bigots web page and heard this....*crickets chirping*...comeon now lou, what you say now?
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cute how they're always 'anonymous'? I'll tell you what, bubba..I heard what Obama had to say, in full during the debate and he danced all over this, because shrillery was too inept to pin him down and Russert allowed it.
ReplyDeleteAnd tell me, pal...what if a white guy belonged to a church wioth a white racist in charge who wasa big fan of David Duke's. Would you want HIM as president?
