Ted Stevens Loses Alaska Seat To Democrat

Well, it's official.

Democrat Mark Begich, the former mayor of Anchorage will be the new senator from Alaska, rather than a Rewpublican appointee by Governor Sarah Palin. This puts the Democrats within 2 seats of a 60 seat veto proof majority...and when you consider that some of the remaining GOP seats are held by people like McCain,Lindsay Graham and Susan Collins,they're likely there already anyway.
