Rush Limbaugh( by far the smartest man in the room): "Pure speculation.."
Ann Coulter (second smartest):"A brilliant move...she's gotten too big for Alaska."
Mary Matalin thinks Palin resignation is a "brilliant move."
PART I
PART II
Mike Huckabee and Karl Rove's reaction.
Jay Cost: "Maybe she doesn't want to run for president..If I were in her shoes, having been asked by my party's nominee to accept the vice-presidential nomination, then having been put through the wringer the way she and her family have, I wouldn't want to run for the presidency. I wouldn't want to run for reelection as governor. And I too would be inclined to resign altogether. One difference between her and me: I would not have been as gracious as she was last Friday."
Andrew Breitbart: New York Times barbie Strikes Again: "What a shock that Maureen Dowd devoted her New York Times column Sunday to attack Sarah Palin. It did not so much criticize Alaska's governor for prematurely stepping down from her official duties as to finish off what sister snipers Katie Couric and Tina Fey began last fall. The assassination of Sarah Palin -by media."
i know that ff is a fan of rush.
ReplyDeletei'm not.
so i'm gonna say this and then run out of the room..........
oh, and something else i was gonna say is i read ff first piece on S/P
but only watched the rush comment.
didn't watch the other talking heads.
what rush said was stated in 32 seconds. yet the comment went on for 3 minutes and 32 seconds. that's 3 minutes i'll never get back....................
That's the nature of media, Louie.
ReplyDeleteTo Limbaugh's credit, he tried to tell the interviewer he was on vacation and didn't really wish to get into it..
Personally, I think he knows EXACTLY what this is about but isn't saying. He and Palin are tight, and she's known to have called him and Dick Cheney among others before pulling the trigger.
I would also advise checking out what Coulter had to say...and I'm curious about you reaction to my piece.
Limbaugh, Palin, Coulter- Now THAT is what you call a trifecta of American ignorance. The fact that there are people in this country who subscribe to their misguided rhetoric is embarrasing.
ReplyDeleteY'know anonymous...I'd be willing to bet that you've never listened to Limbaugh's show or read Limbaugh or Coulter's books. Anyone who could do so and still regard them as 'ignorant' merely reveals his own shortcomings.even if you disagree with them.
ReplyDeleteAs for Sarah Palin, given her approval ratings in Alaska and what she's accomplished there - including a budget that's the envy of a lot of blue state governors you probably like - calling her 'ignorant' is, well...ignorant.
There is a difference between "ignorance" and "American ignorance".
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I actually have read Limbaugh's first book.
As for Sarah Palin, balancing the budget for an oil-rich state is hardly a feat. My assessment of her intelligence is based on her erratic comments and misinformed rhetoric. She does seem slightly more intelligent than GW Bush though... he was elected President, so popularity, in my opinion, is no indication of intelligence.
Not such a feat, hmm? Could YOU do it?
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin didn't balance the budget, She created a major surplus and used that to lower taxes, pay down state debt and partner with private industry to build the new Alaska gas pipeline, which will eventually create lots of new high paying jobs in Alaska and a new source of wealth for the state.
Texas is an oil rich state too, but Governor Perry didn't wind up with that kind of surplus.
Oh, and she renegotiated the royalty dividend the oil companies pay to Alaska residents, thus putting more money in their pockets(Alaska residents get a divend check every year from this source).
I think we should watch whom we refer to as 'ignorant' here, no?
