Salt In The Wound - Ground Zero Mosque May Get Public Financing
Believe it or not, the proposed Ground Zero Mosque may actually qualify for public financing.
According to New York City Comptroller John Liu, the Ground Zero Mosque not only could qualify be he's willing to consider approving a public subsidy.
Liu's spokeshole Scott Seiber said "If it turns out to be financially feasible and if they can demonstrate an ability to pay off the bonds and comply with the laws concerning tax-exempt financing, we'd certainly consider it."
Imam Rauf and his people hope to obtain a total of $70 million in tax-exempt debt towards the construction costs to build the mosque. The city's Tax laws would allow the funding if Imam Rauf and his supporters can prove the mosque will benefit the general public (!) and their religious activities will have separate funding.
Strange times we live in.Strange, suicidal times.
If this were a Christian church or a Jewish Synagogue that were being proposed for this location, I think the reaction among the elites would be much different.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is suicidal but I don't really think it is strange. It is actually quite consistent with how America's leaders act. They tend to focus on only the short-term and either minimize the long-term or ignore it all together. For example, in the short-term, this may lead to some goodwill among Muslim leaders who we need help from but in the long-term it will be an Islamic terrorist victory. Unless something is done, they will continue to destroy our culture from within and at some point the elites who are enthusiastically behind this project will lose control. Unforutnately they can't seem to think that far into the future.
This enemy is definitely more dangerous than Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan ever were or ever could have been. For one thing, the Nazis and the Imperial Jspanese never achieved the level of penetration into the American government that Islamic terroists and their supporters have.
Sod the mosque, for every 9/11 victim it's like a punch in the mouth
