John Brennan is President Barack Hussein Obama's chief adviser on counter terrorism. After he (or rather the Obama Administration) took exception to a couple of Washington Times pieces and stopped by their offices. In these two videos, he's being interviewed by James Robbins, the senior editorial page writer of the Washington Times.
Brennan, you'll remember, has famously referred to Jerusalem on a number of occasions by its Arab pseudonym Al-Kuds.
In the first video, he bloviates about how Islamist terrorism has nothing to do with Islam but that the victims who commit these acts (yes, that's how he refers to them believe it or not)are not motivated by Islam but by socio-economic and political circumstances.
Watch his response when Robbins points out that a number of Islamist terrorists actually come from privileged and educated backgrounds ( Abdul Azzam, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Osama bin-Laden, Ramzy Youseff, and virtually all of the 9/11 hijackers are only a few examples):
Below, there is a charming discussion over the nature of jihad which ended in Brennan storming out of the Washington Times offices without answering. The video and transcript is below:
TWT: You mentioned jihad, for example, and would you agree with the lesser and greater and lesser jihad framework? I mean, that’s pretty standard.
BRENNAN: Sure, it is...absolutely.
TWT: Can you give me an example of a jihad in history? Like, has there ever been a jihad...an armed jihad anywhere in history? Has it ever existed for real, or is it just a concept?
BRENNAN: Absolutely it has.
TWT: Example?
BRENNAN: I’m not going to go into this sort of history discussion here.
TWT: But it’s important to frame the concept, because we want to say that what al-Qaeda is doing is not jihad. They say it is, and Abdul Azzam has said, in fact, ‘there’s not even a greater jihad.’ That that’s just a myth—that hadith didn’t even really happen. That there’s only armed jihad. Ayatollah Khomeini said ‘there is only armed jihad, and it would be useful to be able to characterize or to contrast what they’re doing and what they claim against a legitimate armed jihad in the past.
BRENNAN: I think we’ve finished. I have to get going.
Mr. Brennan left our offices immediately after that exchange.
I would say that Brennan's arrogance and outright lies were astonishing except for the unfortunate fact that this sort of behavior is typical of the Obama Administration.
Res ipsa loquiter.
Somehow I knew it was all our fault and as atonement I am willing to give all our money, all our land and all our children to the Muslims and all of us adults will commit suicide. Do you think this will be enough???
