Weekend Monkey On Politics: Fear, Loathing And The Resurrection Of The She-Devil

Hidey Ho, Primates! Welcome to the one and only Real Banana, your source for the real poop on politics...

Oh and happy Labor Day. I love labor. In fact, I could sit and watch it all day.

Two Big Things this week, one on the surface and one that is just rippling in the undergrowth of the political jungle.

All the handicappers are yakking it up about the coming midterms and how my Democrats are gonna get clobbered.

Let's face it, 'recovery summer' has turned into a freekin' joke, and one where the punch line doesn't exactly favor Prez Obama.

In response to that and the primates howling in anger over ObamaCare, a lotta Donkeys trying to survive the ReThug tsunami are distancing themselves from Obama like the guys on the corner running from a crack whore with running sores and a chancre.

It's gotten so bad that some Donkeys are even running ads not mentioning that they're Democrats and DNC head Tim Kaine has been trying to shame the troops and stem the tide, telling them not to run from their own party.

Hey, it's so bad Obama was in Wisconsin today yakking to some of his pet union boys and Dem Senator Russ Feingold, an incumbent who's running a little behind in the polls actually hid out to avoid being seen with him.

What we're seeing here is massive buyer remorse, and I don't see it getting better. The Democrats are going to have to concentrate on the seats they're most likely to be able to save, and the Party's Chimps-in-Charge realize it.

Which brings me to the second Big Thing, that slipped by almost without notice..the re-emergence of Hillary.

In the midst of all this brew ha ha, all of a sudden outta nowhere, there's a 'Clinton in 2012' ad airing.

OK, yeah, it's supposedly just some primate with a thing for Hillary, who dismissed it with a cackle and one of those fish-eyed grins. But knowing the Clintons, does anybody really think this was just some primate on his lonesome up to some monkeyshines? This Monkey ain't that stupid...it was a toe in the water for Hillary, just to see what happened.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bill is going around the country trying to boost the re-election chances of selected Donkeys and there's been a discreet buncha articles about 'will Hillary run in 2012?'from the usual suspects.

Obama's poll ratings remained mired in the low forties and there's not much positive happening that's likely to swing 'em the other way. In fact, he might even be into Bush numbers by next spring.

If that happens, don't be surprised if Hillary tries to knock Obama off the tree in 2012 'for the good of the party'.

I got a feeling that's exactly what she's gearing up for...and remember, you heard it here first.

  1. My hubby has been convinced that Hillary will run against Obama for 2012. The pundits say no, she will be VP until Obama's 2nd term is over. But it doesn't look like he will GET a second term (please, please, please, no 2nd Obama presidency).

Your husband's smart, and you're even smarter for listening to him.

If his poll numbers go south, look for her and Mr. Bill to go after him. They haven't forgotten or forgiven '08.

    1) rats scurrying, scampering, & bustling from a sinking ship -- love it !
    2) she should wait till 2016. Whether the Dems like it or not, Zero will be the Dems' 2012 prez nominee. The Blacks, particularly the Black Panthers, won't co-operate, even if that means they have to refuse to bail out a sinking ship -- which I hope is the case for the Dems in 2012. --dragon/dinosaur
