Wikileaked: John Kerry Says Israel Must Cede E. Jerusalem And The Golan

Senator John Kerry's solution to peace in the Middle East? Israel surrenders, moves back to indefensible borders and gives up access to Jewish Holy sites in the Old City.

At least that's what the former head of the Senate Foreign Relations committee told Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani and the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa in two separate meetings, as revealed by the released diplomatic cables.

The Emir, who is largely regarded in the Arab world as an Iranian ally told Kerry that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was a key to Middle East peace and that Kerry should focus on him. Kerry agreed with the emir, but questioned Assad's arming of Hezbollah and interference in Lebanese politics. Kerry also agreed with the emir that Israel should give Syria back the Golan Heights.

"The Chairman added that Netanyahu also needs to compromise and work the return of the Golan Heights into a formula for peace," the diplomatic cable reported.

Kerry also said told the Emir that any final agreement would have to include a Palestinian state with a capital in East Jerusalem.

"Any negotiation has its limits, added Senator Kerry, and we know for the Palestinians that control of Al-Aqsa mosque and the establishment of some kind of capital for the Palestinians in East Jerusalem are not negotiable," the cable stated, summarizing the meeting with the Emir.

Obviously Kerry doesn't understand - or want to understand - that Jerusalem is non-negotiable for the Israelis too. No Israeli government would ever accede to dividing it again.

"For the Israelis", the Senator continued, "Israel's character as a Jewish state is not open for negotiation. The non-militarization of an eventual Palestinian state and its borders can nonetheless be resolved through negotiation."

Ah, the wisdom of John Kerry...the 'Palestinians' have already stated unequivocally that they will never accept Israel as a Jewish state, will never agree to any land swaps and and still insist on being able to flood Israel with genocidal 'refugees' after any peace settlement.

What Kerry is pushing for is an Israeli surrender in exchange for things the 'Palestinians' have no intention of agreeing to.

I certainly hope some of the naive Jews who voted for this creature are paying attention.

Why exactly is this John Kerry's business? For that matter, why is it America's business how the Israelis and the "Palestinians" resolve their conflict? Why are America's leaders wasting time and energy on a conflict that involves people on the other side of the world. Furthermore, even if America could somehow solve this problem, it would do absolutely NOTHING to solve any of America's daunting problems. Why, oh why, are are America's leaders wasting time and resources on this issue?

I'm not sure if its true but it is my understanding that some incoming members of Congress are proposing ALL foreign aid be eliminated until unemployment drops below 4% and stays there for an extended period. I hope this is true and they can get this implemented. This is an excellent idea!!

America is deeply in debt and its economy is in shambles. As such, it cannot afford foreign aid. Also, at least in the case of Israel, both Israel and America would be better served if Israel operates completely indepenently of America. America would get from this an ally that is operating independently of it and Israel would be unencumbered by busy bodies like John Kerry.

Senator Kerry has been one of the most knowledgeable senators on international affairs 4 many years. He must please the Emir because they host the CENTCOM base, help solve Sudan and other problems, have a huge natural gas reserve, and are generally 'fixers'. They handled trade with Iran and India. So Kerry is getting alot from the Emir. The Emir wants stealth air systems for their planes n return.

  3. I question your use of the word 'knowledgeable', anonymous.

If by that you mean he favors appeasement, US retreat and 'engaging' with the likes of Iran and Syria, fine.

Qatar is not a US ally, but plays us and Iran against each other. We do not need their natural gas, and the Emir likes the idea of a CENTCOM base in his country because of the healthy lease fess he gets out of it and because a US base guarantees a certain amount of protection and security for his regime.

We have other bases in the region, frankly. And if we used our own US resources the way we should be and became energy independent, I doubt we'd need to be concerned about the Persian Gulf overmuch except for a country like Iran threatening our national security and essentially waging war against us.

    Regards,
    Rob
