The more details that come up, the worse it looks for Dinosaur media's narrative of 'peaceful, pro-Democracy' protesters.
The New York Post is reporting that the gang who assaulted her, who were caught on film right before they dragged her off were yelling "Jew! Jew!" as they surrounded her according to a network source.
Just the day before, Logan had told Esquire.com that Egyptian soldiers hassling her and her crew had accused them of "being Israeli spies." Logan,by the way, is not Jewish.
The media reported that she was rescued by a group of Egyptian women and a patrol of soldiers. I have since been able to confirm independently that it was the women who approached the soldiers, who were at first reluctant to accompany them to rescue Logan but were eventually talked into it.
No one, of course, was arrested, nor are they likely to be.
After she was raped and beaten, Logan was returned to her hotel, and was on a chartered jet hired by CBS within two hours.
According to the Post's sources, she wasn't taken to a hospital in Egypt because the network didn't trust local security there.
And neither CBS nor Logan made any report of the crime to Egyptian authorities, most likely because both she and the network wanted to get her out of there and get her medical care as soon as possible. And after all, nothing good would likely come of it. Just as she was to the mob that attacked her, to the Egyptian authorities Laura Logan was not a victim of a heartless, brutal asault but just an unveiled ferenghi infidel woman who likely got what was coming to her.
Aside from her earlier brush with Egyptian authorities as a 'Jewish spy', Logan, who is married, is technically an adulteress under Islamic law unless she could come up with the unlikely prospect of two Muslim males as witnesses. "The way things are there now, they would have ended up arresting her again," one source said.
And I am not exaggerating. There are a number of cases where western women who have been raped and reported it to the police have ended up in jail, usually to be expelled from the country in question after paying a suitable 'fine'.
Before people get overly excited and make fools of themselves about 'Arab Democracy' they need to take a good look at the repressive, misogynistic and hate-filled culture much of this part of the world has built for itself.
regardless of what happened to ms. logan, it will be blamed on mubarak and his thugs in the crowd.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't think so Louie.
ReplyDeleteThis story will go away in a couple of days, which is exactly what the Dinosaur media wants it to do --it confuses the narrative they've set up too much,if you know what I mean.
I don't even think it would have been a story except the AP found out about it and were going to run it, so CBS did a quick story just to get into the water.

Rob
