Weiner's Resignation - And The Back Story They're Not Telling You
As I reported earlier,Congressman Anthony Weiner finally resigned. The brief statement was unintentionally hilarious as members of the audience heckled him with penis jokes("Were you fully erect? Are you more than seven inches? The people demand to know!") and shouts of "Bye Bye, pervert."
Since then, a couple of my well-informed Little Birdies have surfaced with a fascinating back story that you will definitely not see in the Dinosaur Media.
Weiner's decision had nothing to do with any pressure from Democrats, in spite of what you may have been hearing. They were perfectly content for him to hide in rehab until the fuss died down and then resume his position in Congress. Weiner's resignation was apparently a last minute decision, based on two factors. First, his wife gave him an ultimatum to the effect that she wasn't going to put up with one more iota of humiliation from him, and that if he had any hopes of saving his marriage, he had better quit immediately.
The second factor was the Clintons. Huma Abedin, Weiner's wife is the current Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a long time protege' of hers.Huma and Weiner earn approximately the same salaries, a bit over $150,000 apiece. One of the reasons Weiner held out is because he really needed the money. He is a professional politician who lacks a law degree, a business of his own or any useful experience that would allow him to make a living with his nose out of the government trough.
From what I've been told, the Clintons told Weiner that they would use their connections to help him land some kind of lucrative employment, and that was the leverage Huma needed to demand that he quit.
Here's another interesting bit. As I mentioned, Huma has been a protege' of the Clintons for some time, and she's being groomed for bigger things. She has a lot of sympathy going for her in Weiner's home district as the wronged wife, and I have it from a very reliable Little Birdie that there's serious consideration afoot to have her run for Weiner's now vacant seat...with the Clinton's help and endorsement.
Huma Abedin is an interesting figure. One little known fact about her is her family connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.
I myself had wondered about the marriage of a reasonably devout Muslima and a secular Jew like Weiner. Such marriages are strictly haram, forbidden in Islam by all the four major fiqhs, schools of Islamic thought and jurisprudence. A Muslim man may marry a Christian or a Jew since the children are mandated to be brought up as Muslims, but a Muslim woman is forbidden to marry a non-Muslim man unless he recites the shehadah and accepts Islam.
Yet Huma Abedin's family, who are not only devout Muslims but Islamists apparently voiced no objection to the marriage.
Huma Abedin's late father, Syed Zainul Abedin was a board member of the Islamist Râbitat al-'Alam al-Islâmî, also known as the Muslim World League, during the 1980's. The Muslim World League has a number of ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, including some directors in common, like Qatar's Sheikh Qaradawi.
Huma's mother, Saleha Abedin is listed as a member of the female division of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Ikhwan, also known as the International Women's Organization (IWO) both by al Jazeera and by Al-Liwa Al-Arabi (translated here).
Huma's brother, Hassan Abedin is also a fairly well-connected Islamist who is a Fellow at the the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) in Britain, an Islamist funded chair with a number of Muslim Brotherhood members on the board, including Omar Naseef and the notorious Muslim Brotherhood leader, the aforementioned Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi. Both have been listed as trustees, and Naseef is still Board Chairman.
Hassan also worked with Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, long a major financier and champion of the Muslim Brotherhood on programs designed to spread Islamism in the West, including the actively working on the affiliation of the OCIS with Al-Azhar University, a hotbed of Islamism.
Huma herself was raised in Jedda, Saudi Arabia after her family suddenly left Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1977. In another interesting coincidence, that's the the same year that the Muslim Sisterhood her mother belongs to was established. AWere th etwo events connected?
One has to wonder why Huma Abedin's family raised no objections to the marriage given their background. Did Weiner secretly convert, even if he doesn't practice Islam? Or is there another motivation? Among other things, there's been some fairly interesting speculation that Huma Abedin may be an intelligence mole, which would account for a number of things, including a lifestyle that seems far beyond her current salary.
Huma Abedin as Secretary Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff has already been privy to some extremely sensitive and classified information, and will be privy to even more if she becomes a member of Congress. Is there something more going on that ought to be investigated further? Do her Muslim Brotherhood family ties make her a potential liability to US security?
i can't follow, from your essay, the purpose/cover the marriage gives her. she would have access to intelligence via her connection with secretary klebb anyway. i don't see the purpose of the weiner in this aspect of your essay.
ReplyDeleteshe was a protege' of klebb's before she met the weiner.
she could still have the lavish lifestyle.
i just don't understand the purpose, as it relates to this marriage, the weiner serves.
and if you want to compare moles, who's the greater risk, huma or hussein?
with him it isn't intelligence, it's policy.
The first time I heard about Ms. Abedin I had much of the same questions you have raised here. The additional information you have supplied leads me to an even stronger belief that these questions need to be asked.
ReplyDeleteI can guarantee if she were a devout Jew with close contacts to Israel the media would be asking all of the questions you have raised to the extreme. Since she's a Muslim, thery are silent.
Btw, I suspect Mr. Weiner's high paying government job is waiting for him when he gets out of "rehab." Also, I don't know any one who thinks he faced significant pressure to resign.
