James Carville - 'My Advice to The White House? Panic.'

My, my...Serpenthead appears to be seriously out of love with President Obama.

People often ask me what advice I would give the White House about various things. Today I was mulling over election results from New York and Nevada while thinking about that very question. What should the White House do now? One word came to mind: Panic.

We are far past sending out talking points. Do not attempt to dumb it down. We cannot stand any more explanations. Have you talked to any Democratic senators lately? I have. It's pretty damn clear they are not happy campers.

Carville's advice to the president is typical for a hyper-partisan Democrat...fire, indict, fight. Or, to translate, find some scapegoats to take the blame for the administration's abysmal failures, beat the class warfare drum by indicting some bankers and Wall Street types and sending them off to the guillotine in the tumbrils, and amp up the rhetoric.

The only problem is that none of them would work, except with True Believers. The president has been playing to he blame card since he was sworn in and people are tired of it, and throwing a few bankers to the mob might be inconvenient in terms of revealing ties to the president and the impact on our already faltering economy. And the rhetoric? We've heard it all before.

If you're President Barack Obama and you lose an über-Democrat apparatchnik like James Carville, it really is time to panic....this is better than Lyndon Johnson's Walter Cronkite moment on Vietnam. While Serpenthead is seriously deranged when it comes to actual policy or anyone with an R next to their name, the man does know the horse race aspect of politics pretty well.

The odds on Hillary Clinton launching a primary challenge against King Putt just went up to 45%.

I am not surprised. Carville was always a Clinton person. He sees an opening and wants Hillary to take it. But I doubt the Dems will let the Clintons back in. After how they screwed Hillary out of the nomination last time (super delegates), there would be that all feared Clinton pay-back to worry about.

  2. An excellent point IP, and one I hadn't considered. If Lady Macbeth were to slither back into the White House, her wrath and retribution would be something to see!

Carville is probably working for Hillary right now on the quiet.
