More Evidence - Autopsy Reveals Trayvon Martin had Marijuana In His System

Some more of the evidence in the Trayvon Martin trial has surfaced, where neighborhood watch volunteer shot and killed 17-year-old black teen Trayvon Martin after an altercation between the two in the gated community where Zimmerman lived. Zimmerman was originally not charged by the police, but was brought to trial and charged with murder two after the case attracted national attention and resulted in outrage, threats of violence and racial animosity sparked by people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and even comments by President Obama.

Zimmerman is claiming self defense.

As you read here yesterday, the autopsy of Trayvon Martin revealed injuries to his knuckles that that would tend vindicate George Zimmerman's account of the incident, that Martin was sitting on top of him and pummeling him. It also revealed that the fatal shot that killed Martin was fired from 1" to 18" away and at an upward angle, which would also tend to support Zimmerman's version of what happened.

New information reveals that Martin, who had been suspended from school for possessing marijuana had traces of the drug in his blood and urine.

Other information recently released concerned the initial police investigation. Apparently there's some indication that the police speculated that Zimmerman could have avoided the incident if he had spoken to Martin before the confrontation, and that Martin was running generally in the direction of where he was staying in the neighborhood.

Of course, this would not necessarily contradict Zimmerman's account, that Martin turned and attacked him. The gated community where Zimmerman lived had experienced several recent break ins, and it's possible Zimmerman thought Martin was leaving the scene of a robbery. One question yet to be raised is what Martin was actually doing inside the fence and how he obtained entry.

Detectives also believed early in the investigation that the voice heard on 911 recordings screaming for help before the fatal shot was fired was Zimmerman's, not Martin's, as the teenager's lawyers have claimed.

In a statement, Detective Christopher Serino of the Sanford police department said he played a recording of the calls to Tracy Martin, Trayvon's father.

"In the background I could clearly hear a male's voice yelling either 'help' or 'help me' 14 times in an approximately 38-second time span," Serino wrote.

"The voice was determined to be that of George Zimmerman, who was apparently yelling for help as he was being battered by Trayvon Martin.

"I asked Mr. Martin if the voice calling for help was that of his son. Mr Martin, clearly emotionally impacted by the recording, quietly responded 'No'."

The issue was raised again during one of many interviews with witnesses by Sanford detectives in the aftermath of the shooting at the town's Retreat at Twin Lakes gated community.

"The detectives told me that the broad-built man [Zimmerman] was the one yelling for help," one anonymous witness said in a statement."They said, 'You should have seen him, he was all scratched or beaten up'."

Zimmerman sustained two black eyes, a fractured nose and cuts on the back of his head in the incident. Another witness claimed Martin was sitting astride Zimmerman and punching him 'MMA ( mixed martial arts) style.'

Of course, if he was being beaten by Martin, it makes sense that it would be Zimmerman whom was calling for help from his neighbors.

Again, none of the information we have to date would seem to justify a murder two charge. If this had been in the hands of a grand jury rather than a special prosecutor anxious to placate people like Al Sharpton and President Obama, I doubt this would have gone to trial and certainly not with a murder two charge.

Stay tuned...
