Obama Ad: 'Mitt Romney Murdered My Wife'
This was so bad even CNN couldn't quite bring themselves to swallow it.
I suppose that next, he'll be accused of poisoning puppies and selling grannies into slavery:
"When Mitt Romney closed the plant I lost my healthcare, and my family lost their healthcare," Soptic says in the ad put out by Priorities USA Action, the main pro-Obama super PAC. The ad is expected to air in the coming days in five battleground states.
"A short time after that, my wife became ill. I don’t know how long she was sick and I think maybe she didn’t say anything because she knew we couldn’t afford the insurance."
She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died shortly afterwards. AND IT'S ALL THAT VICIOUS, PIRATICAL ONE PERCENTER MITT ROMNEY'S FAULT!!
The ad comes from the main Obama Super PAC, Priorities USA as part of a $20 million campaign.
Here's the real truth.
As I've written earlier, Mitt Romney left Bain Capital in 1999, although he his name remained on the company's masthead as CEO. Bain Capital shut down GST Steel, where the man in the ad, Joe Soptic was employed back in 2001, two years later, and Mitt Romney had nothing to do with that decision whatsoever.
It gets better. It turns out that Mrs. Soptic had her own health insurance through her job at a local store called Savers – and kept it even after his layoff. Soptic's policy through GST Steel was her secondary coverage.
She retained that health insurance until 2003. While Mitt Romney formally left Bain Capital and severed all ties with them in early 2002.
In 2003, Mrs. Soptic left her job after what was claimed to be a rotator cuff injury. She wasn't diagnosed with cancer until 2006.
Here's something else..because of COBRA, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986,Mrs. Soptic would have the right to continue to be covered by her former employer's group plan for up to 18 months, provided she kept her premiums up.
If she chose that option, she would have been covered into 2005. If she couldn't afford to pay the premiums, Missouri's MedicAid program would have covered her healthcare.
So if Mrs. Soptic waited until her cancer was too advanced to treat, it wasn't because 'Romney took away her insurance.'
Mr. Soptic, by the way is something of a pro at this and has appeared in other ads directly by the Obama Campaign.
The White House reaction to this?
During the White House briefing Tuesday, Press Secretary Jay Carney said he hadn't yet seen the ad.
"I'm simply saying that I have not seen this. So how could I possibly assess it?" Carney said.
"But you can. Will you assess it later?" I asked him.
"If you ask me tomorrow, sure," Carney answered.
When I followed up with him after the briefing he told me though he may look at the ad his assessment “will be I have no assessment."
Okay.
So far, the Obama Campaign and their surrogates have accused Romney of being a felon, a racist,a tax cheat, and now a murderer by proxy.
Fine by me.
I want to see pro Romney Super PACS respond in kind, and there's a great deal moe fact in the attacks they can come up with.
For instance, what about ads on:
Michelle Obama's no-show job that coincided with a certain Senator Obama's earmarks.
Why the Obama campaign disabled the default VISA identification software on his campaign website, allowing campaign donations to be submitted under aliases and fake addresses.
A call for full disclosure on the 2010 Democrat party Senate primaries in Colorado and Pennsylvania, where two Senate candidates publicly said they were offered something by the White House not to primary incumbents, a felony under 18 USC 600, 8 USC 211, and 8 USC 595.
A poignant ad showing someone who lost his loved one during the 2009 ice storms in Kentucky, where 54 people died while President Obama was mainly concerned about his upcoming Super Bowl party in the White House.
An ad documenting President Obama's championing of infanticide, a policy well to the left of even NARAL.
A nice ad on President Obama's use of dead military corpses for a political photo op in violation of DoD regulations and the wishes of the deceased's families.
For that matter, an ad on how President Obama tried to take VA benefits away from our wounded warriors.
The difference, of course is that the ads created out of these instances are based on actual fact and deal with the president's actual performance in elected office, unlike the bolshoi the Obama campaign is pushing.
I say let the Super PACs loose, and let's all play in the mud.
Politics of destruction? Mr. President, you ain't seen nothing yet.
If the dims are this bad now I am afraid that by the time of the election we will know exactly how many gerbils Mitt likes stuffed up his ass while having gay sex.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be at all surprised to see them put out an ad like that.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't amaze me after what was done to Sarah Palin, but that just seems to be their operating procedure..especially with their media lackeys covering for them.
I guess we'll see what happens in November.
