Obama Trying to Suppress the Active Duty Military Vote? Of Course He Is

Apparently the news has finally broken in the mainstream about the Obama Department of Justice suing the State of Ohio to suppress the votes of active duty military.

Mitt Romney justifiably let the president have both barrels on this:

"President Obama's lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state's early voting period is an outrage," he said in a statement posted to Facebook Saturday afternoon. "The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote. I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I'm entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I'll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them."

Of course, President Obama is denying this, accusing Romney of 'fabricating a claim.'

But as members of Joshua's Army know, Ohio ain't the only thing th eObama Administrastion has done to try to suppress the military vote.

Eric Holder and the Obama Department of Justice prior to the 2010 midterms engaged in a systematic campaign to encourage states to seek waivers not to comply with the the Federal Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (the MOVE Act) and to suppress the military vote, a constituency perceived by them as largely Republican. Congress found out in a subsequent investigation when it was too late to do anything about it that the worst offenders were states and counties run by Democrats. In fact, the Justice Department employee who was the chief contact person in encouraging jurisdictions not to comply with the law and seek waivers was actually promoted.

Military ballots were supposed to be mailed out a minimum of 45 days before the elections. It simply didn't happen, with the result that a lot of the people who are putting their lives on the line for our country didn't have a say in who runs it.

And the same thing is happening this year. The Obama DOJ is actively encouraging states to seek waivers so they don't have to comply with the law.

This has occurred so often by now that it appears to be a regular tactic of Democrats. Remember Al Gore's attorneys celebrating in 2000 over disqualifying almost 5,000 Florida military votes after Gore's campaign prepared and sent out a memo to its agents on how to find technicalities to get military ballots trashed?

President Obama likes the military just fine when it comes to politically useful photo ops, or when he can take credit for their successes. When they want to vote, not so much.

    (sarcasm/off).

I link to my own work because I tend to analyze things, communicate them and summarize them quite well. If this is a problem for you, that really is just too bad.No chains, y'know?

I defy you to show anything in any of the posts I linked to that isn't sourced properly.

You can't. And I'm not at all worried about my readers questioning my veracity, thanks. Except for the odd man out like you, I've had no complaints.

I trashed your comment ( although I'm giving you the courtesy of responding to it, and I did want people toknow you responded) because I find it connects to Chuckie The Lizard Boy over at Little Green Hairballs.

I and a number of other sites make a practice of not linking to him for quite obvious and well known reasons.

But that aside, in terms of the content, it still does not show why giving active duty military a few extra days to vote is such a massive problem it requires the weight of the Obama Administration and the DOJ to pile in, especially considering how they are aiding and abetting outright voter fraud in many other locales around the country.

The problem, of course, is that the Ohio law means more active duty military might vote...and we can't have that, now can we? At least the Democrats can't.

That's also why the Obama Administration continues to be involved in encouraging Blue jurisdictions to seek waivers not to comply with the laws about getting military voters their ballots in a timely manner, just as they did in 2010.

You and I both know, if we're being honest, that this is simply lawfare by the Democrats to try and keep the ability to cheat and vote corpses, felons and illegal aliens this November.

I find it disgraceful, but I suppose the any-means-to-an-end Alinskyites regard it as just business as usual.

Obviously, our perceptions of this our quite different...but I think my readers can judge for themselves who has the facts and who's just blowing partisan smoke.
