Our Troops As Hired Mercenaries: Kerry Says Arabs Will Pay Cost Of Syria Invasion

According to the Washington Post, Secretary of State John Kerry once again pointed towards what the Obama Administration ultimately wants..a boots on the ground, Iraq-style invasion and occupation of Syria.

In today's hearing, Secretary Kerry told Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) that the Saudis and GCE countries are happy to hire our troops as mercenaries in Syria.

“With respect to Arab counties offering to bear costs and to assess, the answer is profoundly yes,” Kerry said. “They have. That offer is on the table.”

“In fact, some of them have said that if the United States is prepared to go do the whole thing the way we’ve done it previously in other places, they’ll carry that cost,” Kerry said. “That’s how dedicated they are at this."

And that's the kind of contempt they hold us in. Of course the Arabs would pay us to take out Assad, put a nice Sunni dictatorship in place and bug out. That's what you hire mercenaries for. What they won't pay for is the sacrifice and damage to American families who are going to have to figure out how to go through life without a cherished family member, or the rehab costs for someone who comes home without an arm, eyes or legs. And no wonder..such sacrifices are pretty priceless, especially when there is no American interest at stake, merely President Obama's political agenda.

Nor are the Arabs going to reimburse the American taxpayer for rebuilding Syria after decades of Assad family's mismanagement and two years of civil war, although a number of politically well-connected contractors will certainly reap a bonanza. Or for building up yet another shiny new U.S. trained and equipped Muslim army that would happily turn their guns on Americans in a nanosecond. Syria would make the fourth one of these we've built at America's expense.

If the Saudis want Assad out that badly, they have tanks, planes, and troops available and they can put some of their own boots on the ground for a change. Let them suffer the losses, let them pay to rebuild Syria instead of buying it on the cheap with American blood and treasure.

So use our troops and weaponry and Saudi Arabia pays for it. That proves to me that this War is all about the GAS Pipeline that Saudi Arabia ans Qatar want to run through Syria. Assad has told them NO numerous times. Can you imagine the payoffs that are going to be placed in pockets if this does happen? And nobody cares about the 1000's of lives that will be lost getting all of this done. At this point all I can say is those "Sons of Bitches" and I don't care what Government they belong to. You people will have to die one day and meet your maker......but these people don't believe in GOD !

There is a possibility here to deal Iran and their Russian masters a crushing blow. In order to do this, we are going to need assistance. We've utilized the assistance of Islamic fighters in areas like this before. Unfortunately that action contributed to the rise of Al Qaeda. As such, we should be wary not to repeat that mistake again.

At least one commentator referred to Al Qaeda as "troglodytes" compared to Iran. If this is correct, then should an opportunity present itself to deal Iran, Russia, and their allies a crushing blow it should be seized. Such opportunities do not come along often!! I'm extremely skeptical of such an analysis however. It was Al Qaeda who attacked us on 911 in one of the most brilliant military actions in history, not Iran.

Now if an attack on Syria were to be executed for this purpose, several factors need to be considered. At a minimum, they are as follows. 1.)Can the American mainland be protected from Russian, Iranian, and allied attacks as a result of this action? 2.)According to at least one report, Russia has threatened to hit Saudi Arabia hard in such an attack. How can valuable Saudi oil supplies be safeguarded? 3.)How do we prevent Iran from closing the strait of Hormuz? 4.)How can Israel's security be safeguarded in the event of an Al Qaeda takeover of Syria? In other words, what assurances do we have to ensure the new leaders will be any better than the old ones in regards to Israeli security? 5.)Has a defense been developed for Russia's sunburn anti-ship weapons? 6.)Since Islamic extremist elements will need to be supplied with weapons to carry this operation out, how can we ensure these weapons will not be used against us or Israel some day in the future. 7.)With our massive national debt and struggling economy how do we pay for this operation and the long range aftermath?

I could go on with more things to be considered. In Afghanistan, in the 80s much of these things were a non factor. For example, valuable trade routes for America and valuable energy supplies were not affected. Also, the actions did not undermine Israeli security.

I don't think there is a good answer to any of the questions posed. Assuming good answers could be found and it were theoretically possible to carry this out with satisfactory answers to the questions posed, do the military leaders or other top officials within the US government actually have the competence to carry this out? Based upon all evidence available to date over the last twelve years the answer to the competence question is a resounding no.

As such, a Syrian invasion should not be launched with American participation. While it may be theoretically possible to carry out even though it would be a long shot, the current leadership is incapable of actually doing it!! America should focus on defending its homeland and redeploy from the Middle East forthwith.
