Nuclear Deal Gets More Ridiculous As Iran Denies IAEA Access To Major Nuke Site

The sanctions are dead, the Iranians have their money and pretty much everything else they want, so there's absolutely no reason for them to even make a show of cooperating on anything.

Two days ago, as al-Arabiya reported, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman for Iran’s atomic energy organization, told Iran's ISNA news agency that the IAEA, the UN nuclear watchdog is not going to be allowed anywhere near the Parchin nuclear facility, a major Iranian installation run by the Revolutionary Guard where there's a fair amount of evidence that research and tests relating to nuclear weapons development occurred:

Iran cited that the visit would not fall under seven steps the Islamic Republic and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had agreed on.

“Visiting Parchin is not included in the seven steps,” Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman for Iran’s atomic energy organization, told the ISNA news agency, referring to elements of an agreement reached Sunday.

The Islamic Republic agreed on seven “practical steps” with the IAEA in talks seeking further safeguards to enhance transparency on Tehran’s nuclear drive, an Iranian nuclear official said.

The steps are meant to be implemented by May 15, Iran’s envoy to the Vienna-based body, Reza Najafi, told the ISNA news agency.

So much for what President Obama and Secretary Kerry had to say about inspection of Iranian facilities being part of the Iran deal back November of last year...

And the talks about talks continue as Iran revs up a new generation of improved centrifuges, conducts long range missile tests and continues to move towards obtaining nuclear weapons.

Rest assured that President Obama has no intention of doing anything about it.

More on that later.
