An Interesting Point On Benghazi That May Prove The WH Is Lying
Here's an interesting point that may just prove once and for all that the Obama White House is lying about what went on in Benghazi.
I've mentioned a number of times on this site that aside from phone contact and real time camera feeds from the consulate, there was an ex-Navy SEAL at the CIA annex well within sight of the consulate with a laser site calling in coordinates for targets. Now, my first impression was that he was calling in targets for what he thought would be forthcoming U.S. aid or to target the jihadis for a line of fire from the annex.
Fox News is finally reporting on this:
The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive.
But BlackFive raises an excellent point that didn't occur before to me (emphasis mine):
Having a back and forth with a former legendary Delta operator. Here is the gist of what he is implying:
Having spent a good bit of time nursing a GLD (ground Laser Designator) in several garden spots around the world, something from the report jumped out at me.
One of the former SEALs was actively painting the target. That means that Specter WAS ON STATION! Probably an AC130U. A ground laser designator is not a briefing pointer laser. You do not "paint" a target until the weapons system/designator is synched; which means that the AC130 was on station.
Only two places could have called off the attack at that point; the WH situation command (based on POTUS direction) or AFRICOM commander based on information directly from the target area.
If the AC130 never left Sigonella (as Penetta says) that means that the Predator that was filming the whole thing was armed.
(NB: Which clears up something I had been wondering about, by the way..why send an unarmed drone to a terrorist attack? Obviously, if this is true than it wasn't an unarmed drone as we were told by the White House)
If that SEAL was actively "painting" a target; something was on station to engage! And the decision to stand down goes directly to POTUS!
Unless, of course the commander-in-chief was otherwise engaged and voted present. That, actually has always been my innate feeling about this. I don't think the White House deliberately left the SEALs to die (although Ambassador Stevens might have been a different matter). As then SecDef Leon Panetta said, the president 'left it up to us'. President Obama never issued the directive he claimed he did, which is why there's no record of it. Instead, he was simply absent for whatever reason, or unwilling to give the necessary orders. And neither Panetta nor any of the others were able to get the authority to order our assets to attack the jihadis during that crucial 4 hours when the men on the rooftop of that CIA annex stood them off alone, waiting for help that never came.
If this is true, there are people in the military who know it...the members of the platform crew who were receiving calls for assistance, had a clear target marked out for them and would have been ordered by someone to stand down. There are also videos, communications records and phone logs..all of which have been marked classified by the Obama Administration.
This would seem to be a fruitful area for the Benghazi House select committee to get its teeth into.
It was interesting to find this at the end of the article (I note that you conveniently ignored it):
ReplyDeleteFox News has also learned that Stevens was in Benghazi that day to be present at the opening of an English-language school being started by the Libyan farmer who helped save an American pilot who had been shot down by pro-Qaddafi forces during the initial war to overthrow the regime. That farmer saved the life of the American pilot and the ambassador wanted to be present to launch the Libyan rescuer's new school.
This ruins yet another one of your insane conspiracy theories. I guess the rabid conservatives at Fox News are 'left-wing' now?
*Chuckle*
ReplyDeleteI 'left it out' because while FOX was obviously including something a source at the White House had told them to live up to their fair and balanced rep only an idiot would think it was actually relevant.
You're telling me that Ambassador Stevens, who knew he was on an al-Qaeda hit list according to his own diary, had begged for more security and had it denied by Hillary, had seen even the Red Cross pull its people out because it was too dangerous... stuck around because he 'wanted to be present at the opening of an English-language school???'
Not only that, but you're telling he wanted to be there and was not ordered to stay there by Hillary?
How f#@#ing stupid can you be? I'm not just being gratuitously insulting here..it seems like people like you will believe absolutely anything. As I've said before, I only post this kind of 'comment' for sheer amusement value, but it wears awfully thin when I realize there are people who actually would post something like this, smiling to themselves at how clever they are.
Oh, and just for the record, as I mentioned at the 5th para of the article, this ' insane conspiracy theory' didn't come from me, in fact it was a point I hadn't considered and was voiced by an 'insane' special forces commander with years of experience over at BlackFive.
Of course, he's obviously a ra-aaa-aa-cist who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about!
You know what? You're pathetic, and I honestly almost feel sorry for you.
Almost.
