#Ferguson Update - Officer's Injuries Confirmed, Grand Jury To Be Convened

The Ferguson story continues...

Last night, the Missouri National Guard arrived in Ferguson, but they were apparently under orders to keep a low profile rather than actually, you know, stop the looting and rioting. That was left to the hapless police. It's almost sad to listen to the change in tone from Captain Ron Johnson, the black Highway Patrol officer who was brought in to command the security detachment and who lives locally.

He's gone from talking about how he's a part of the community (he lives locally) and saying the protests are oh so righteous to sheer disgust. Johnson said bottles and Molotov cocktails were thrown from the crowd at the police and that some officers had come under heavy gunfire. At least two people were shot and 31 were arrested, while four officers were injured by rocks or bottles.
“It has to stop,” Johnson told CNN.” I don’t want anybody to get hurt. We have to find a way to stop it.”

There is a way to stop it, and quickly, but Democrat Governor Jay Nixon certainly isn't going to authorize it. Instead, the cops and National guard will stay low profile and basically allow the party to continue as long as it's relatively confined - an absolutely horrible and racist decision victimizing the law abiding citizens and property owners of Fergusan

Meanwhile, Captain Johnson advised protestors to vacate the streets before sundown because, as he genteelly put it, there's “a dangerous dynamic in the night.”

Yes, there sure is.

One looter who came out of a QuikTrip told The Washington Post that he was proud of what he was doing.

“I’m proud of us. We deserve this, and this is what’s supposed to happen when there’s injustice in your community,” DeAndre Smith told The Post. “St. Louis ****ing not going to take this anymore.”

Or, as one policemen quoted by  the St. Louis Post Dispatch called it “looting tourism.”

“It’s like they are spending their gas money to come down here and steal,” the officer told The Post.

Looting - the new Federal entitlement!

Today, the injuries to Officer Darren Wilson were announced and they back up his version of events. He sustained a fractured orbital socket at the hands of Michael Brown, the 'gentle giant' who struck Wilson, pushed him back into his police SUV and tried to take his weapon. Essentially this means Wilson's eye socket was smashed. The injuries were confirmed by a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police. The sample below gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.

While the feds are conducting their own, independent investigation, the state and county police are presenting all the evidence they have to to a St. Louis County grand jury, which will determine whether Darren Wilson should be indicted.

Part of that evidence will undoubtedly be this. courtesy of St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Christine Byers:

Police sources tell me more than a dozen witnesses have corroborated cop's version of events in shooting

The police say that they have corroborated the police's official story?

Well, that settles it! Nothing to see here!

  2. Oh, I'll put their evidence up against that of the black lynch mob as maybe a bit more credible, but we'll see.

Of course, there's also the first two autopsies that show that Michael Brown was shot from the front, the eyewitness caught on video saying he charged the cop, and the ballistics report which makes it appear he tried to wound the charging 292 lb thug instead of killing him outright, but again, we'll see.

I absolutely love the way people automatically assume that someone is guilty until proven innocent..just because he happens to be white.

Ah well, the Obama regime will likely get what it really wants, a ginned up black turnout so the Dems keep the senate and amnestia becomes a fact.

What, you think Obama or Holder give a damn about Michael Brown?

I hope those black voters enjoy continued unemployment, sky high rent, utility, gas and food bills and dysfunctional schools. Just keep on voting Democrat.

"There is a way to stop it, and quickly..." I'm assuming you mean by having the "militarized" police force that the "left" and to an extent the "right" is up in arms with hysteria about to crush the rioter/looters once and for all. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I do agree with you the governor is not going to authorize this and I think we both know why. The rioters/looters are his political "base." The property owners and business owners are nobody's base except what the government can leech off of them in exorbitant taxes. Additionally, the rioters/looters have POTUS and his AG fighting for them. In contrast, the property owners have none of this.

At times like this, I'm reminded of something Martin Luther King supposedly once said to roughly paraphrase. "The moral arc of the universe can be long but it tends toward justice." This arc leads away from the rioters/looters, their allies in POTUS and his AG, the MO governor, and the allies of the rioters/looters in the media and towards the property owners and business owners of the area and the nation.

"The police say they have corroborated the police's official story." I would not be so quick to flippantly dismiss something simply because the police say it. This does not necessarily make it accurate but it does not make it wrong either.

All information will need to be carefully considered by the grand jury. Even in optimal situations where there are no political issues and other outside forces at work, things like this can take a very long time. Even in an optimal situation, the pressure on the grand jury is incredibly intense. These are far, far from optimal circumstances.

Also, remember the shooting of the young man, the rioting/looting, and the militarization of the police force are completely separate issues that need to be analyzed separately.

As for the shooting of the young man, this needs to be properly investigated and the MO governor and others need to refrain from making summary judgments about the case at this time. In other words, they need TO STAY OUT OF IT!!

As for the rioters/looters, they deserve nothing but contempt and should be put down and crushed by any and all means necessary. Essentially treat them like an invader and crush them. Peaceful protests are allowed under our constitution and even today as long as they support leftist causes they are actively encouraged by our government.

As for the militarization of the police force, it seems clear in today's America that police tactics of the 80s and 90s are not going to work. In order to handle highly organized rioters/looters such as these, the police will need a certain degree of "militarization." Unfortunately with the current political environment these militarized police forces are much more likely to be used to protect the rioters/looters and against the efforts of business and property owners to defend themselves. As such, this militarization has negative utility.

That is UNLESS one looks at this from the standpoint of an invasion. The Pentagon probably views it from this perspective. Many cops are veterans and will already be well trained in military tactics and in the use of military grade equipment. With a military that is beleaguered and stretched to thin, they very likely view a militarized police force as a bulwark against an invasion by foreign powers. This probably explains why they've signed on to this program wholeheartedly.

  5. Both the Watts riot in 1965 and the Rodney King riot in what, 1991 (?) had very similar dynamics to each other. In both cases the police stood down and allowed a substantial amount of looting and burning to occur and then were overwhelmed when they tried to keep it from going out of control.

The media likewise helped fan the flames, especially in the King riots. They showed the highly edited shortened version of the video of the beating over and over again, while emphasizing that the police were doing nothing to stop it, and referring to it as 'a party' (I'm not exaggerating).

It's a pity the rioters didn't break into the TV studios and act out there. They deserved it.

Both riots were ultimately stopped by the National Guard. In Watts, the Guard simply arrested looters and shot a number of violent trouble makers who attacked them. Once the rioters realized that there might be a personal cost to their actions, it stopped quickly.

In the Rodney King riots, which became almost citywide once the helpful media did their thing the National Guard commander used a slightly different tactic, sectioning off different areas that were affected, quieting them and then turning them over to the police to hold and maintain.

But in both cases, the rioters realized that their time of getting away with looting and violence was over and things got under control fairly quickly.

The National Guard commander, whose name I unfortunately don;t remember wrote a book on his tactics for quelling the King riots from a military standpoint that was fairly interesting.

Among other things, he documented the large participation of illegal aliens, gang bangers and wanna be gang bangers in the rioters.

"arrested and shot a number of violent trouble makers who attacked them." Thank you for the reply to my post. I pretty much think you and are mostly on the same page with regards to this. Essentially treat the rioter/looters as part of an invasion force.

Whether we agree or not about the specifics, I think we do understand there is something rather final about death. It tends put a chilling effect on some people both literally and figuratively!!

The last sentence especially regarding illegal aliens is very telling. I think there is no doubt a foreign invader will use illegal aliens to their advantage. Essentially the illegal alien invasion poses not only a threat to our culture but to our very survival as well!!

The Watts riot were before my time and I only vaguely remember the Rodney King riots. The only thing I remember about the Rodney King situation is a blurb by a man who was there that bears out everything you write.

If these situations were anything like today, it seems unlikely they would break into the TV studios to act out. The people in the TV studios were and are their allies. As such, there would be no reason to harm them, at least in the short to mid term. These are their allies!! Throwing them under the proverbial bus can happen later!!

If Watts or Rodney King are anything like today, these are very organized situations which require a clear definition of enemy and foe. For the short to mid term, the media in the studios are their friends. As such, no reason to act out so to speak against them.
