The Fight OnThe Cromnibus Bill Goes To The Senate

The Washington Examiner is reporting that the new 'cromnibus' spending bill passed in the House is sparking a great deal of resistance in the Senate. It's passage as is isn't a done deal by any means.

The two senators leading the charge are Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and David Vitter (R-LA), a staunch conservative, Neither like the corporate carve outs in the bill or the abandonment of campaign finance limits.

The House passed an extension giving the Senate until December 17th to pass the bill and lame duck majority leader Harry Reid is urging them to do so and so is President Obama, but there's is a great deal of resistance from both far Left progressive Democrats and conservative Republicans.

The passage of this bill is by no means a done deal.

This truly is a sorry state of affairs when we are having to depend upon far left Democrats to block a bad spending bill from passing. It is but one of many symptoms of the dire straits America is in right now. There seems no doubt that the leadership of other major powers such as the EU nations, Russia, China, and India no doubt wake up grateful and are immensely thankful to whatever god or gods they believe in that the challenges their nations face are nowhere close to as severe as the problems America faces.

With that said I'm not really clear what the beef that far left progressive Democrats have with this. I had heard mentioned that they did not like the revisions loosening some of the regulations of the Dodd-Frank Act. As a CPA/Income Tax Accountant who works closely with many small to mid size businesses, I can testify to the fact that the regulations imposed by Dodd-Frank have been between unhelpful to out right devastating to small to mid size businesses making it much more difficult for good credit worthy businesses and their owners to get loans. Also, complying with these regulations is literally very taxing on small to mid sized banks making it harder for them to offer loan products and driving them out of business or encouraging more consolidation that they claim to oppose!!

Basically, if we could eliminate Dodd-Frank entirely or at the very least weaken it to some extent, this would be a VERY good thing. By opposing a spending bill that would do this I can only assume that far left progressive Democrats are either 1.) to stupid to understand anything they are doing, 2.)have a vendetta against small to mid sized businesses and their owners and wish to hurt them, or 3.) some combination of 1 and 2.

I suspect the answer is 3 but 1 is a real possibility. After all far left progressive Democrats never get questioned on ANYTHING or face scrutiny for ANYTHING they do. When their policies fail, it is ALWAYS someone else's faults. An individual or individuals live in a bubble, faces no scrutiny, and is allowed to blame others for their failings, lets just say I could see how such a person or people could become very, very stupid very, very quickly.
