Iran consulate in Iraq raided

In what could (hopefully) be the first sign of Bush's new resolve against Iran and Syria, US forces engaged in a pre-dawn raid of Iranian consulate in the Kurdish town of Irbil, in North Iraq.

They landed on the roof, broke in, impounded computers and file cabinets and arrested five Iranian diplomatic staff members, who were warned not to resist or they would be killed.

Needless to say, the mullahs were unhappy over this incident and Iran has strongly protested this breach of its sovereign territory, summoning the Swiss ambassador who represents US interests in Iran and the Iraqi ambassador to demand the immediate release of the Iranian diplomats.

Imagine that...invading a sovereign embassy and taking diplomats hostage! How could any civilized nation do such a thing?

I'm sure that brought up a few memories for Ahmadinejad....
