This is fairly big news, as this was the lawsuit claiming that ObamaCare was unconstitutional that was brought by 26 states. Needless to say, the Obama Justice Department will appeal.
The individual mandate is the core of ObamaCare, the government's ability to force Americans to buy insurance. Without that, the rest of the law is meaningless.
This ruling also marks the first time a Democrat-appointed judge has ruled against ObamaCare.Judge Frank Hull, who was nominated by former President Bill Clinton, joined Chief Judge Joel Dubina, who was appointed by George H.W. Bush in the 2-1 ruling.
