Iran Sings The Same Old Song -'Yes, We'll Annihilate Israel'

Ann Curry and Javad Zarif (NBC News)

Iran's genocidal intentions towards Israel were first voiced by Ayatollah Khomeini early in the regime's beginnings in the late 1970's. They have never changed.

This week, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, sat down with NBC News for an exclusive interview. NBC’s headline and story are: “Iran Foreign Minister: We Believe We Are ‘Very Close’ to Nuke Deal.” But buried in the transcript, thanks to veteran reporter Ann Curry, Zarif reveals that the destruction of Israel and the wholesale murder of its people are exactly what Iran has in mind. The video is up at Breitbart, and here's the exchange:

ANN CURRY: So how does Iran want to annihilate the regime of Israel, since you’re making the difference?

JAVAD ZARIF: We don’t want to annihilate. We don’t want to–

ANN CURRY: Well, the Supreme Leader–

JAVAD ZARIF: –annihilate anybody.

ANN CURRY: –tweeted that–

JAVAD ZARIF: We have– the– well, what he says–

ANN CURRY: –it should be annihilated.

JAVAD ZARIF: It– it should be annihilated. That this regime is a threat, is a threat…

What Zarif was attempted was Takiyah, lying to infidels to conceal his true beliefs and intentions. But An Curry called him on it, putting him in the untenable position of either disagreeing with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei (not healthy) or trying to lie about something Khamenei and other Iranian leaders have said openly. In the end, he just admitted it and chose the less suicidal course, hoping it would just slip by unnoticed. Certainly it worked with NBC!

The Iranian goal of genocide has never changed...and there's absolutely nothing in the present proposed agreement that would prevent it in any way.

Just as an aside, the Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians that Iran claims to be so concerned about would likewise die in droves after an Iranian nuclear attack. so would a lot of Iranians, since Israel reportedly has second strike capability in that event. But the regime's real thinking, based on Iran's Shi'ite Twelver sect and the doctrine of the Hidden Imam is revealed here in this quote by the Ayatollah Khomeini:

“We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world.”

Yes, America. These things only start with the Jews. They never end there.

Kerry's Talks With Iran Deadlocked As Iran Calls For Israel's Destruction

 http://i.huffpost.com/gen/2058114/thumbs/o-JOHN-KERRY-facebook.jpg

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry chaired a four hour meeting with an Iranian delegation that included Iran’s deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Javad Zarif.

Secretary Kerry's 'agreement that was never and agreement' on Iran's rogue nuclear weapons program continues to fall apart at the seams.

The Iranians have flat outrejected any limits on their enrichment program (and let's remember, a nuclear energy program doesn't require enrichment). The Iranians have also refused to consider reducing the size and output of their centrifuges that can enrich uranium both to levels needed for reactor fuel or for nuclear warheads.

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMC2lBolPzE-TG_HkYUCiWLn3TZu6SHnknQISqzUMasCXPT_JkGaoohZfRpQ2bXTvy9cQhxY_Lvzck8iHlFPhsLSAqtjqSShdcrRj-Lp0cL7nKvv-lwvQq5Z0SbyTtcmQ_nH4H/s400/IRAN%252BNUKES.jpg

According to the Associated Press Kerry caved and promptly put a new U.S. proposal on the table that is based on removing piping connecting the centrifuges...as if that piping can't be reconnected in between inspections!

The Iranians are also adamant about any inspection of their military base at Parchin where there's substantial evidence that nuclear weapons research has gone on, nor will Iran make any concessions on its fortified nuclear facility at Fordo or on its heavy water reactor at Arak. The Arak reactor has no peacetime application whatsoever, and the reactor can be used to produce plutonium, an alternate path to nuclear weapons.

You may remember
that last November, Secretary Kerry was claiming that the Iranians had agreed to suspend operations at Arak. The Iranians were quite prompt to reply they said no such thing, just one of the many details Kerry and President Obama claimed the Iranians agreed to that they absolutely didn't, and something Iran said it wouldn't ever make concessions on. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime got over $12.5 billion in badly needed funds and the dismantling of what was left of the sanctions that was years in the making for this faux 'agreement' anyway. As I said at the time, it's a wonder Secretary Kerry returned with his pants and shoes on after that bit of negotiating....

The next topic of conversation was the Islamic State. As I reported earlier, the Iranian response to Kerry's attempt to get them on board as part of President Obama's coalition was pretty much along these lines:

  http://postedeveille.typepad.com/.a/6a01156fb0b420970c0167695b9172970b-800wi

Deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi refused the idea of any coordination of efforts with the Great Satan, he did say that his government was in agreement with Western powers on the evil  nature of Islamic State, saying,  “we couldn’t agree more that ISIL [Islamic State] is neither Islamic, nor a state.”  Most Sunnis, not just Islamic State feel the same way about Shi'ites, of course.

But they did have a unique suggestion for Kerry.

Araghchi said that Israel’s actions in Gaza can “only be called genocide,” and said that Israel's existence was a rallying cry for Islamic State. So Islamic State's destruction and demise must thus be tied to “an end to the Israeli occupation of Arab lands.”

Since the Iranians (and the Arabs whom identify themselves as Palestinians) have said many times they consider all of Palestine 'occupied Arab lands' and Iran funds and arms genocidal groups like Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah, there's no mistaking what Aragchi meant. It's a reprise of the old Iranian call to wipe Israel off the map.And keep in mind, Aragchi isn't just speaking on his own. That doesn't happen in a regime like Iran's. This is official policy.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSylc7mNmZ4vOa4H6Utaknw2iENHnxPEH-99E6ocvd9slWf4qfhwLSoW9u07JrT9O1KQFPXpJVOOIk6r83YvOHBkmQnd0jDzWdsClZ0CIbb9Dl3AbZ-eZmuqlAPcggrThlkHBM/s1600/Abbas_framedmap.bmp

In fact, if the 'Palestinian Authority’s ambassador' to Iran, Salah Al-Zawawi is to be believed, Iran has already begun shipping weaponry and missiles to Fatah as well:

“I would like to reiterate my gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for the training, financing, and weapons it has provided us, as well as for its political and diplomatic positions regarding Palestine. Iran has helped us to attain our great victory,”

“I am not saying that Palestine will be liberated tomorrow, but we have made real strides on the path to liberation. A missile with a 200 kilogram warhead will carry a warhead of 100 tons in the future, because weapons change as men change. We just need to cross the scientific threshold to get to our goal.”

Ah yes, the old goal of pushing the Jews into the sea. And perhaps later after the missiles are developed, a spare nuke, once the Iranians develop one? Just for the record, a top Iranian military commander recently confirmed that the Islamic Republic is sending weapons to Fatah.

Israeli PM Netanyahu may one day be sorry he didn't defy President Obama and take out Hamas when he had the opportunity. A three front war with Fatah, Hamas and Hezbollah as adversaries is not out of the question at all.

And Secretary Kerry? There's no indication that he voiced any objections to this call for Israel's ethnic cleansing by Iran. Not that he agrees with it per se, but he appears to be far more focused on what concessions he can make to Iran to get some kind of piece of paper signed before November 24th, the new deadline that was agreed to after the Iranians ran out the clock on July 20th, the official deadline. Iran received an additional bribe of a mere $2.8 million to keep these 'talks' going after that fiasco.

Meanwhile, the centrifuges are turning and Iran hasn't given up anything. Nor will they. They know whom they're dealing with.

When Will Barack Obama Say Something About The Genocide Of Christians?

 http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Syrians-crucified.jpg

The lives of Christians in the Middle East are becoming a horror story, at least everywhere but in Israel.

In Syria, the Christians have been almost entirely driven out. Murders, rapes, kidnappings and forced conversions abound. Some have fled to Jordan, others to Lebanon where they have taken refuge with what's left of the local Maronite population.

 https://manachbog.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/syriawomen.jpg

“We are facing real genocide, but all the world has been silent, especially what we call the ‘First World,’” said Syriac Catholic Bishop Barnaba Yousif Habash, based in New Jersey, who has written President Barack Obama and visited both the State Department and Capitol Hill, pleading for U.S. action.

Now, Bishop Habash said during an Aug. 5 interview with the Register, “I don’t trust anyone in the American administration. I don’t have any expectations that they will help.”

Syria's Christians have been mainly targeted by Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS) as well as the other Sunni factions. The Christians are being murdered using arms from Libya or from Qatar via Turkey that Islamic State and the other rebels got courtesy of the Obama Administration. President Obama has been supplying arms and training to ISIS and the al-Qaeda affiliates covertly for quite some time now, while lying about it numerous times publicly and without bothering to clear it with congress

In Iraq, the news is even worse.Over 1500 civilians were slaughtered yesterday by Islamic State. Qaraqosh, the largest Christian town in northern Iraq’s Nineveh province was attacked by Islamic State, and all of its 60,000 residents who could manage to get away fled to Erbil in Kurdistan.

Iraqis people from the Yazidi community arriving in Irbil in northern Iraq after Islamic militants attacked the towns of Sinjar and Zunmar

The Kurdish Persh Merga had managed to hold out against IS so far and literally begged the Obama Administration for arms to defend themselves. The response was that Washington was 'considering it' but they got no arms or aid because of President Obama's relationship with Turkey's Erdoğan and because the Obama Administration was concerned about upsetting the Maliki government in Iraq.

To add insult to injury, a $100 million cargo of Kurdish oil in a tanker off the Texas coast that would have provided the money to the Kurds to buy arms was ordered seized by U.S authorities which honored a demand from the Baghdad government who claimed the oil belonged to them. The Obama Administration supported this on the grounds that helping the Kurds might result in a break up of Iraq.

According to one of my sources Israel, who has a long standing relationship with the Kurds and supports an independent Kurdistan would be willing to help, but have no way to get any arms to the landlocked country. They helped arm and train the Persh Merga during the No Fly Zone era, but that was when Turkey had a very different relationship with Israel and could be used as a transit point. That's no longer possible.

 http://www.theblaze.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ISIL-Syria-AP.jpg

The latest I hear is that Islamic State managed to push the Persh Merga back with the aid of all those gently used U.S. weapons the Iraqi Army dropped when it ran away and are advancing on Erbil, the capitol.Islamic State considers the Kurds 'apostates' because of their moderate Sunni beliefs but more importantly, this gives IS easy access between Iraq's second city of Mosul, which they overran on June 10, and the Syrian border. Even more importantly, IS gained control of Mosul Dam, Iraq's largest and the Ain Zalah oil field.Control of the dam would allow Islamic State to flood major cities or cut off significant water supplies and electricity.

Even worse is what is happening to the Yazidis, an ancient people whose religion mixes elements of Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Islam. IS considers them devil worshipers and infidels. The largest community of them lived in Ninevah and when that was overrun by IS about 200,000 Yazidis and some Christians fled for Erbil, but about 40,000 people are now trapped on Mount Sinjar and surrounded by th Islamic State. The Washington Post today is quoting a UNICEF spokesperson as saying “There are children dying on the mountain, on the roads. There is no water, there is no vegetation, they are completely cut off and surrounded by Islamic State. It’s a disaster, a total disaster.”

 http://vid.alarabiya.net/images/2014/07/25/9997579d-7648-42a2-a187-db37d4b64f23/9997579d-7648-42a2-a187-db37d4b64f23_16x9_600x338.jpg

The ones who were captured by Islamic State in Sinjar, Tal Affar and Zummar are even worse off. Here is a description from a report by Christiana Patto of the Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq:

Yesterday 45 children died of thirst. Some families throw their children from the top of Sinjar mountain in order not to see them die from hunger or thirst, or not to be taken by the terrorists. 1500 men were killed in front of their wives and families, 50 old men died also from thirst and illness. More than 70 girl and women including Christians were taken, raped and being captured and sold. More than 100 families are captured in Tel afar airport. There is about 50 Christian families in Sinjar. The terrorists were able to control the Syriac church there and cover the Cross with their black banner. Till now we do not know anything about those Christian families.

Others are apparently being help as prisoners and human shields by IS in Tel Afar.

And President Obama? Silence, although our UN Ambassador did make a statement:

I condemn in the strongest possible terms the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’s (ISIL) recent attacks on Sinjar and Tal Afar in Ninewa province that have reportedly led to the displacement of tens of thousands of people, many from vulnerable minority communities, deepening Iraq’s already acute humanitarian crisis. ISIL’s reported abuse, kidnapping, torture and executions of Iraq’s religious and ethnic minorities and its systematic destruction of religious and cultural sites are appalling.

The United States supports the Iraqi Security Forces and Peshmerga Forces working to defend these areas against ISIL. We urge all parties to the conflict to allow safe access to the United Nations and its partners so they can deliver lifesaving humanitarian assistance, including to those Iraqi families reportedly encircled by ISIL on Mount Sinjar. The United States is committed to helping the people of Iraq as they confront the security and humanitarian challenges in their fight against ISIL. Iraq’s leaders must move swiftly to form a new, fully inclusive government that takes into account the rights, aspirations and legitimate concerns of all of Iraq’s communities. All Iraqis must come together to ensure that Iraq gets back on the path to a peaceful future and to prevent ISIL from obliterating Iraq’s vibrant diversity.

Just compare this language with some of the rhetoric the president and the ObamaState department have used to describe Israel defending itsaelf.

The Iraqi Army that cost $25 billion of your tax dollars to create is doing nothing, people are fleeing Erbil ahead of the Islamic State's US equipped armies and the Obama regime is still backing the corrupt and inept Maliki government! No arms for the Kurds and no US military support to stop the jihad of Islamic State. The answer is to wait for Maliki to form that magical 'new and inclusive government.'

Maliki whose been essentially a 'caretaker'  since a fraudulent and inconclusive election in April has continued to defy any notion of doing anything like that and the Obama regime continues to support him for some reason, while Islamic State just gets stronger. So, stalemate.

Just compare this with the Obama team's quick action, pledges of vast amounts of money and support and florid language and outrageous demands on behalf of Hamas. Or the president's unilateral war on behalf of jihadis in Benghazi, Libya.

None of this, by the way came out of nowhere. President Obama and his team were fully aware of what was likely to happen. They just had other concerns, like partisan politics, fundraising and flooding America with illegal aliens:

Three weeks ago, a group of leaders from the opposition Free Syrian Army warned U.S. officials that a strategic city along the Iraqi border was about to fall to ISIS. It was the latest in a long series of increasingly anxious cries for help. The rebels never heard back from the Americans.

Five days ago, the predictions came true. Free Syrian Army units in the city of Der al Zour handed over their territory to the Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham, following weeks of desperate requests for help to international officials, including a direct appeal in a private meeting with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power.

“[The U.S. officials] showed an understanding of the situation but there was no movement at all,” the commander of the FSA battalion near Der al Zour told The Daily Beast in an interview. “There’s no clear American position in that part of Syria. We told the Americans we are going to fight ISIS and ISIS is close to us, but they did nothing.” [...]

For several weeks prior, FSA leaders had tried to sound the alarm. If Der al Zour fell to ISIS, the extremist group would have control of the transportation routes from their stronghold in Raqqa, Syria to their new territories in northern Iraq. The area is also rich in oil and gas resources and was the last FSA stronghold along the rapidly disappearing Iraq-Syria border.

About six weeks ago, a group of representatives of the FSA and the Syrian Opposition Coalition went to Jordan, and met with the international committee coordinating aid to the FSA based there. They presented a detailed urgent request for money, food, and weapons to be sent to the FSA in and around Der al Zour. Three weeks ago, just days after Mosul fell to ISIS, a group of FSA and SOC officials met with Power in Turkey and briefed her about the impending disaster on the Syrian side of the border. But after the meeting: nothing.

Again, the FSA are not exactly free of Islamists themselves, but the point is that the president and his team knew all about what was going on, and did nothing about it. They still haven't.

President Obama makes a very big deal about being a Christian. So do his followers. But whether it's Pakistan, Nigeria, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Syria or Darfur, President Obama has done nothing concrete to stop the jihad against Christians by Muslims.

In fact, if you actually look at his foreign policy, he appears to be aiding and abetting it.

The hard question, the one no one seems to want to ask is why.

Turkey's PM Erdoğan Almost Admits Armenian Genocide,Talks About 'Shared Pain'

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/static/Resizer.ashx/News/250/168/413122.jpg

Turkey's Islamist PM Tayyip Erdoğan is definitely under strain. Today, on on the eve of the day Armenians world wide memorialize the victims of the Turkish genocide that occurred in 1915, Erdoğan became the first Turkish politician in history to actually admit that something evil just might have occurred:

Turkey has issued a first-ever statement offering condolences to the descendants of slain Ottoman Armenians just a day before of 99th anniversary of the mass killings of Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Empire during World War I.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan highlighted the “shared pain” endured during the 1915 events in a historic statement April 23 on the Armenian issue, expressing condolences on behalf of the Turkish state to the grandchildren of Armenians who lost their lives “in the context of the early 20th century.”

In a first-of-its-kind statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Erdoğan said April 24 carries “particular significance for our Armenian citizens and for all Armenians around the world.”

Speaking to reporters April 23, Erdoğan said it was always Turkey that had taken steps for reconciliation but that it was now the Armenian side’s turn to take steps toward Turkey.

“It is indisputable that the last years of the Ottoman Empire were a difficult period, full of suffering for Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, Armenian and millions of other Ottoman citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin,” wrote Erdoğan.

“Millions of people of all religions and ethnicities lost their lives in the First World War,” he added. “Having experienced events which had inhumane consequences – such as relocation – during the First World War, should not prevent Turks and Armenians from establishing compassion and mutually humane attitudes among towards one another.”

This is typical Islamist doublespeak. Until now, rather than 'taking steps towards reconciliation', the Turks have denied the Armenian genocide ever occurred, imprisoned and even murdered Turkish writers and academics who wrote or spoke about it, and leaned on foreign governments who passed or attempted to pass resolutions mentioning it.

And contrary to Erdoğan's statement, it was the Turks doling out those 'inhumane consequences' and Greeks, Assyrians, and Armenians who were almost exclusively at the receiving end.

But this is still a surprising first step for a Turkish leader in even acknowledging what happened. An attempt at reparations by Turkey to the descendants of genocide victims similar to what Germany provided to Holocaust victims would be a necessary second one to keep the process going.

Looks Like Chuck Hagel Has An Armenian Problem As Well As A Jewish One

Or to put it more accurately, he's simply pro-Islamist at all times, when it's the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas or or the Islamist government of Turkey.

Turns out that Senator Hagel opposed a 2005 congressional resolution recognizing Turkey’s genocide of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915. the direct precursor to the Holocaust, cited by Hitler himself as a model at the Wannsee Conference in 1942 when the Final Solution for Europe's Jews was decided on.

How 'bout that?

The genocide of the Armenians was planned and executed by the Turkish government of that time at the highest levels, but unlike the Germans, the Turks, cynically, have yet to admit it happened. They've taken genocide denial to new heights.

Daniel Halper at the Weekly Standard quotes Hagel at the time:

“What happened in 1915 happened in 1915,” Hagel said during a 2005 trip to Armenia when he was serving in the Senate. “As one United States senator, I think the better way to deal with this is to leave it open to historians and others to decide what happened and why.”

“The fact is that this region needs to move forward,” Hagel continued. “We need to find a lasting, just peace between Turkey and Armenia and the other nations of this region. I am not sure that by going back and dealing with that in some way that causes one side or the other to be put in difficult spot, helps move the peace process forward.”

Move along, nothing to see here..as if real 'peace' and any kind of reconciliation is possible when one side refuses to admit that there's anything to reconcile or address about the past in the first place!

I wonder...does Senator Hagel feel the same way about the Holocaust of the Jews? it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he did.

Nor would it surprise me if he was just as blase' about a modern Holocaust of Jews in Israel at the hands of his Islamist friends.

It's an embarrassment to America and a smear on this president's already besmirched character that someone like this would even be considered for a cabinet post.

It's an embarrassment that President Obama even put his name forward...and even worse, I see it likely he will be confirmed by the Democrat dominated Senate.

The Forgotten Genocide - And Obama's Enabling Of It

Today is April 24th, the day Armenians all over the world commemorate the deaths of the estimated 900,000 to 1.5 million Armenians planned and ordered at the highest levels of the Turkish government and carried out by direct executions, enslavement and kidnapping, forced relocations into the desert and deliberate starvation.*

The Turks commited this act of barbarism as a means of enforcing dhimmi, second class status on the largest, most progressive and most cohesive non-Muslim group in the Ottoman Empire and removing them from being obstacles in Turkey's imperialist ambitions.

In 1908, an extreme nationalist movement in Turkey known as the `Young Turks' deposed the Sultan's government in a coup. A triumvirate of extreme Turkish nationalists took complete dictatorial control, Enver Pasha, Jemal Pasha and Mehmed Talat Pasha. They and the Young Turks had a vision of a new Pan-Turkic empire spreading all the way to Turkic speaking parts of Central Asia. Armenians were the only ethnic group in between these two major pockets of Turkish speakers..and the nationalist Turks wanted them out of the way and marginalized.

When the Turks entered World War One on the side of Germany and the Central Powers, the pretext existed for the eradication of the Armenians.

The first step was to disarm the Armenians and make them completely helpless.

In 1915, Turkish leader Enver Pasha ordered that all Armenian troops in the Ottoman armies be disarmed, and assigned to labor camps. Most of the Armenians recruits were either quietly executed or assigned as laborers under conditions that ensured very few survived.

In the Armenian areas of Anatolia, the Ottomans gave orders for all weapons to be collected `for the war effort'. The Armenians complied, and were left helpless.

On April 24th 1915, hundreds of prominent Armenians were murdered in secret in Istanbul after being summoned to a `special conference'.

After that, orders went out across Anatolia and other parts of the empire for for a `temporary relocation' of the Armenians. People were told to only bring what they could carry. The Armenians complied and were "escorted" by Turkish guards in what became death marches.

The death marches led across Anatolia and into the desert, and the Armenians were raped, starved, murdered, and sold into slavery along the way. The local Turks and Arabs were encouraged to take revenge on the helpless people. Hundreds of young Armenian women and children were sold into slavery. The Turkish `guards' provided no protection, and often took the lead in committing these atrocities.

The Armenians who survived the march eventually ended up in gulags in the Syrian Desert, the Der Zor, where thousands more died of disease, starvation and thirst.

Nazi-like, the Turks appropriated everything the Armenians owned, a sum probably amounting to well over billion dollars in today's money. Because they had confiscated all records relating to investments, deeds, bank accounts and insurance policies, the Turkish government even had the raw nerve to approach U.S. Ambassador Henry Morganthau with the request that all  insurance claims due on life  insurance policies owed to the Armenians by American companies be paid directly to the Turkish government 'until the missing policy holders can be located.'

The normally reserved Morgenthau was so horrified at this blatant attempt to cash in on murder that he not only turned down the request, but used some rather undiplomatic language in the process.

This was the first modern attempt at genocide, and while for sheer high tech efficiency the Ottoman Turks couldn't match the Nazis, they were an example for them to follow. Adolf Hitler, when one of his aides questioned whether the West would allow the Holocaust he had planned against Europe's Jews responded: "Who remembers the Armenians nowadays?"

The Turks, however, went the Germans one better when it came to genocide. The Germans at least had the courage to admit what had happened and to take responsibility for it. To this day, the Turkish government denies that any of this happened, and there has been no real punishment or reparations for the crimes against the Armenian people.

President Obama has notably been a part of this injustice,  as ABC's Jake Tapper revealed today:

On the fourth Armenian Remembrance Day of his presidency, President Obama has for the fourth time in a row broken his promise to the Armenian community to use the word “genocide” in describing what happened at the hands of the Turks roughly a century ago.

As a senator, and then as a presidential candidate, Barack Obama often talked about how bold he was to call the slaughter of an estimated 1.5 million Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Empire just what it was: a genocide.

“America deserves a leader who speaks truthfully about the Armenian Genocide and responds forcefully to all genocides,” he said. “I intend to be that president.” In a January 2008 letter to the Armenian Reporter, Mr. Obama said he shared “with Armenian Americans — so many of whom are descended from genocide survivors — a principled commitment to commemorating and ending genocide. That starts with acknowledging the tragic instances of genocide in world history.”

In a statement, Ken Hachikian, the chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America said, “President Obama today completed his surrender to Turkey, shamefully outsourcing U.S. human rights policy to a foreign state, and tightening Ankara’s gag on American recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The President’s capitulation to Turkey – on this, the last April 24th of his term – represents the very opposite of the principled and honest change he promised to Armenian Americans and to all the citizens of our nation. President Obama’s pledge to recognize the Armenian Genocide stands today as a stark lie, a painful promise etched on the hearts of all who had hoped and worked for change, but who, today, have been betrayed by a politician who failed to live up to his own words.”

It comes down to this. One of President Obama's Best Friends Forever when it comes to foreign leaders is Turkey's Islamist Prime Minister Tayipp Erdogan.

Aside from their personal affinity, Erdogan is this president's role model for the kind of 'moderate' Islamist President Obama has pulled all the stops out to empower in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and if he has his way, throughout the Muslim world..because the president is under the mistaken impression that countries ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists can be 'worked with' and appeased.

There's no way he's going to even think about upsetting  Erdogan over a genocide the Turks still claim never occurred.

Next to that, what's a few promises? Or moral sensibilities? Or a sense of right and wrong?

There's a word for that kind of person.

* A brief note to some of my readers.  Every time I write anything about the Armenian Genocide, I receive a number of long and detailed comments on how it never happened, and even  some on how it was actually the Armenians killing Turks.

Having looked at some of the links I was sent, it's apparent there's a similar 'industry' on this topic just as there is with Holocaust denial, and for much the same reasons..there's money and notoriety in it.Don't waste the electrons.
