If They Win In 2020, The Left Will Steal Your Home And Destroy Your Neighborhood

The American Dream has always been to own a home of your own in a decent neighborhood.

Do you own a home? Like your neighborhood? Guess what?  The 2020  election will decide if you are able to keep your home and what happens to your neighborhood.

The radical Left which now controls the Democrat Party has some plans for your home and your neighborhood if they get elected.

Let's start with Joe Biden's 2020 platform. It calls for ending suburban American communities by flooding them with forced low-income housing into every neighborhood and flooding them with immigrants, legal or otherwise.

This is the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations, which would  give instant amnesty and a pathway to U.S. citizenship for the 22 million illegal aliens now living in America. And guess what, it would  also give legal status to any 'refugees' that want to come here whether their claims are legitimate or not.

But wait, there's more.

The Biden platform will also put Barack Hussein Obama's Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rules into practice. It would force communities receiving any federal funding, including FEMA disaster aid  to abide by strict rules mandating  "proactively examine housing patterns and identify and address policies that have discriminatory effects.”

The AFFH was a rule added by former President Barack Obama to the 1968 Fair Housing Act. Once revived by Joe Biden if he's elected, it is going to radically undercut the political and economic Independence of America’s suburbs...and that includes your neighborhood.

Or in other words, if your neighborhood doesn't pass their mandatory diversity  test, (and I'm sure you can imagine what that entails) you will be forced to do so...and this could include eminent domain on private houses, including yours,  to ensure that they're available for the government's preferred groups. Need I say more?

President Trump managed to curtail and make certain reforms to most of this, but of course those changes would all be rolled back in a Biden administration.

Think I'm kidding?

AOC Called Out Border Patrol Over Detention Conditions and ...

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacked “homeowners” just yesterday,  saying that they are hurting people that can’t afford to own land. Her rant comes as her fellow squad member congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar proposed a bill that would strip property owners of their property if the federal government deems it necessary.

The law will put control of nearly every small town, local, municipal, and state powers and responsibilities under the power of federal control. That includes schools, police, housing and much more. It destroys zoning laws. If local governments don’t go along, the government will cut off all funds and very probably will use the Biden Department of Justice to file suit aganst communities and evenindividual home owners to make them comply.

The bill would also cancel all rent and mortgage payments regardless of income or employment throughout the duration of the Corona  pandemic.

And a  fund would be created “to fully finance the purchase of private rental properties by non-profits, public housing authorities, cooperatives, community land trusts, and states or local governments — in order to increase the availability of affordable housing . Guess who's going to pay for this...you are especially if you own a home. You are.

As socialists and communists like to say, 'Property is Theft...unless it belongs to us'!

You see, the Left doesn't like single family housing. They want people in multi family dwellings to give them more control of how you live. Essentially, they see middle class homeowners as Kulaks.*

The platform also states Biden would: “Ensure effective and rigorous enforcement of the Fair Housing Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. Hold financial institutions accountable for discriminatory practices in the housing market.

As the platform states:

"Democrats will vigorously enforce the Fair Housing Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and hold lenders accountable for discriminatory practices. We will use the federal government to enforce settlements against discriminatory lenders, and require communities to proactively review housing patterns and remedy local policies that have a discriminatory effect. Democrats will give local elected officials tools and resources to combat gentrification, penalize predatory lending practices, and maintain homeownership, including exploring targeted rental relief when exorbitant rent increases force long-term residents from their communities and tackling persistent racial bias in appraisals that contributes to the racial wealth gap.

As someone who made a successful career in Real Estate, allow me to translate what this will mean.

Home loans used to be underwritten based on the borrower's credit record, what were known as 'ratios' meaning what  the amount of the mortgage payments would add to already existing debt the borrower had and whether the borrower would b e able to afford to make all of his payments and not default. Another factor was the borrower's overall credit record...things like consistent late payments, items at collection agencies, foreclosures, repos, things like that. Job history and length of time on the job would also be looked at. In other words, to avoid having to foreclose, lenders would underwrite to make sure the borrower was likely to  repay the loan and had the income to afford to pay the mortgage along with any other debts they had. It was sound, common sense and it worked.

That ended thanks to changes in the laws during the Clinton and Obama Administrations that forced lenders to make loans to people who didn't meet sound underwriting standards and had poor credit. These new standards were based a great deal on exactly what the Biden platform plans to base it on....the borrower's race and/or ethnicity.  As I'm sure you'll remember, this led to a lot of  bad loans and foreclosures. And when these bad loans were bundled with other loans and sold on the secondary market (Which is what banks do with them normally) it contributed a great deal to the 2008 recession. And the banks didn't pay for it, you did. President Barack Hussein Obama simply raised the maximum amount Government financed FHA and  similar loans could be financed at to allow a lot of these bad loans to be refinanced at little cost to the owners, but at the expense of  the taxpayers.

Let's look at the rest.

'Gentrification' merely means that as a neighborhood gets nicer and more desirable, the price to live there increases. The Biden plan is to allow Left wing goons like the current mayors of various blue controlled cities like Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles legal tools to prevent those neighborhoods they and their cronies don't live in from becoming nice and desirable places to live. What they will use is forced low income multi family dwellings, housing projects, mandatory rent control where it doesn't already exist and eminent domain to take over houses occupied by people they feel aren't entitled to 'privilege.' They will then use their own city employed  appraisers to decide what the owners will be paid and I guarantee you, it will be less than market value. Some of this has already occured in some Blue run cities.

Picture how your own  your own neighborhood will change once this goes into effect. Living in the same area with a housing project and what that usually brings in terms of crime, vandalism, a drop in property values and a general lower standard of living...and especially think about it in terms of defunding your police department, something that's also on the way if these people get in power.

It will also result in a lot more difficulty in even finding housing, unless you're one of the preferred groups of people this is aimed at. And thanks to corporate America gobbling up homes and renting them out, owning your own home might just become a dream denied.

A Trump administration might abrogate this. A Biden Administration assuredly won't.

Even though the voters in California voted down  a proposition on the ballot for mandatory rent control, the Democrat controlled state legislators simply voted it into law. Ask anyone you know who lives there how hard it is to find housing. Also, since the new Biden program will be exploring targeted rental relief when exorbitant rent increases force long-term residents from their communities.   In other words, if you have rental property you will not be able to decide what your property will rent for, whom you may rent it to or whether you can increase the rent to compensate for increased property taxes. Which are definitely on the way

Another thing about appraisers...notice this: tackling persistent racial bias in appraisals that contributes to the racial wealth gap.

Appraisers are trained and licensed  professionals. They use standardized  methods to come to an opinion of value which includes using other similar property sales in the area to determine value of the property in question, and they are strictly regulated.   What the new Biden platform plans to do is to force them to lower sales values so that the favored ethnicity can buy your house...because it's racist for you to own property anyway, right? And of course you will have to settle for what these diversity appraisers say your property is worth, even if the house next door almost exactly like yours sold for a lot more before the Dems took over.

This is part of what's at stake in the next election among other things. Think about it when you vote, not just for president but for congress and your state legislators and governors. Your home and your neighborhood are at stake.

*Kulaks are what the Communists called the prosperous middle classes of professionals, artisans, shop keepers and  wealthy and successful farmers who employed hired labor or their own possessed farm machinery. They were treated as oppressors and class enemies and were forced to give up their 'privilege.'

Guess What? The Obama Admin Has No Idea How Many Agencies They're Funding!

 http://thenewsalchemist.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/shrugging-obama.jpg

The Feds have just revealed a deep, dark secret...they have no idea how many agencies they're asking us to pay for!

There is - wait for it - no complete official government list of federal agencies and programs telling the federal government what your tax dollars are supporting.

Needless to say, there are laws that say the feds are supposed to compile this information. The Government Performance and Results Modernization Act of 2010 (GPRAMA) — which President Obama signed into law on January 4, 2011 — established required quarterly performance assessments of all government programs, and also mandated that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) create a website that was supposed to publish quarterly performance reports by the heads of each agency.

Not only does that website — Performance.gov. launched in 2011 — only a partial list of government programs,(even the FCC isn't on the list) but the quarterly performance reports for even the agencies listed are conspicuous by their absence.

This should give you a clue about how the vast bureaucracy mandated by ObamaCare is going to function.

There isn't even a uniform standard about how strategic and performance plans data is published, something GPRAMA also mandated. Jim Harper, director of information policy studies at the Cato Institute was quoted by the Daily Caller as saying that not only isn't there a list of federal agencies that exists, but that there's no standard machine-readable federal government organization chart or report format.

According to Harper, Many reports are currently published in formats like PDF instead of XML or StratML, which make it more difficult for the data to be useful to a computer.

There was a bill to establish reporting these kind of reporting standards supported by House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa that successfully made it through the House in 2012.. only to die in the Senate.

Ah Washington! It's fun spending other people's money!

Obama Administration Pushes Banks To Make Home Loans To Borrowers With Weaker Credit

The Obama Administration is involved in a major effort to push banks to make home loans to people with weak credit and in the case of purchases, with little or no down payment.

According to the administration, this is going to help 'fuel recovery' and promote 'fairness, because, in the words of the linked WAPO article, "the nation’s much-celebrated housing rebound is leaving too many people behind, including young people looking to buy their first homes and individuals with credit records weakened by the recession."

So the administration is using the Justice Department and the Inspector General's office of HUD, (who are in charge of investigating claims of fraud and wrongdoing in the mortgage industry) to get lenders to grant home loans to riskier borrowers. They're especially leaning towards the idea of steer borrowers towards FHA, Fannie Mae and similar taxpayer guaranteed programs.

This seems like a good idea. I only wish we had some real life experience on how well it would work.

Oh...wait a minute..

Now that you've stopped laughing, here's a few facts to ponder.

First of all, there is no 'housing recovery', because the demand isn't there. People don't ordinarily take on large debt like a home purchase in uncertain economic times. New home starts are at historic lows, and I can take you to a dozen construction sites locally where someone started to do exactly that, and realized that finishing the construction would involve a new 'take out' loan to the bank and leave them seriously underwater with a property that was in the red.So the job sites are just sitting there, while the owners wait for the market to improve or for a sucker to come along and take the property off their hands.

What you're seeing instead, (because the rental market is strong) is private investors. property management companies and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT's)buying up homes at today's low interest rates, putting a little basic maintenance into them and renting them out at a profit.

Needless to say, the Obama Administration doesn't like this vestige of private enterprise. So they're leaning on lenders to make loans to riskier borrowers, promising them that if they go along, they won't be subject to investigation or penalties if the loans default.

I can tell you from personal experience that those guarantees are worthless. It's exactly what lenders were told during the last orgy, when they were pushed to do exactly the same thing.

Well connected Democrats like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick, among others, made millions in bonuses for pushing these bogus loans and the derivatives based on them through the system that brought on the last crash in 2008.

They were protected. It was the lenders who were used as political targets and vilified merely for doing what the feds demanded they do.It cost them billions, and in some cases saw profitable companies destroyed, along with thousands of jobs. Anyone remember Washington Mutual?

At this point, the taxpayers are already eating most of these toxic loans. Rather than let the market absorb these properties and gradually recover, the Obama Administration simply raised the dollar amount of the FHA refinance limits to over $800,000 and severely loosened the underwriting requirements to allow the banks to unload them onto the shoulders of the taxpayers.

What the Obama Administration is doing now is exactly what was done before and led to the meltdown. And the banks will go along, because they have little choice.

Sequestration Blues...

Well, President Obama's Sequestration is going into effect.

As I said at the time, it was a stupid deal for Republicans or anyone in either party who actually cared about any notion of fiscal responsibility.

To get the obvious ObamaLie ™ out of the way, yes, as Bob Woodward has documented, it was President Obama who torpedoed a budget deal  at the last minute by hitting Speaker John Boehner with a huge additional $400 billion tax  increase after Boehner stupidly thought he and  the GOP caucus had a deal.

If it was me, I would have called a press conference, hammered the president for his duplicity and bad faith and let the government shut down. But John Boehner is, um, different. He agreed to a temporary increase in Obama's credit card limit  and a plan the president put forward for automatic cuts in the Federal budget. Again, as I pointed out at the time, it was a deal only  someone with the testicles and common sense of a gnat would have agreed to .

it's important to remember that there's no incentive for President Obama to make any compromises. He wants to raise taxes anyway, many of the mandated cuts will come out of our military budget which he also wants to slash to the bone and best of all, he feels he can blame Republicans for it. This makes absolutely no common sense but the way the president sees it, it makes political sense and he sees it as a win-win situation: either they'll knuckle under and give him what he wants, or they won't, and he'll make political capital out of while getting some things he wants anyway.

Simple truth. This president and his minions were always going to raise taxes and refuse to cut any spending except when it comes to strangling the defense budget. It's who they are.

Just to show you how wacked out this is, here's an example from Los Angeles, but it could just as easily be your town, and when I describe it, I'm positive you'll recognize the same scam having been pulled locally.

The city elections are tomorrow and on the ballot is Proposition A,yet another half per cent sales tax increase. And how is it being sold? Constant scare ads, paid for of course by the Democrats and the public employee unions. According to them, if Prop A doesn't pass, the police and Fire Departments won't be able to respond to emergencies, school teachers will be laid off by the busload, school lunch programs will be cut, street maintenance will suffer, the sky will fall...

If this sounds familiar, it's because it's a tried and tested formula that's always used when 'progressives' want more of your money. It's always 'pay up, or else' and the cuts are always targeted at things designed to frighten the average person into giving up the money. They're never targeted at things government could make cuts in without affecting public welfare, quality of life or safety.

For instance, this citywide sales tax hike is the brainchild of City Council President Herb Wesson, who makes $178,789 per year in salary, more than a member of the U.S. Congress. Given that he also gets a free car, a driver, excellent health care, pension benefits and other perks the average citizen wouldn't even get within spitting distance of, could he and the other Council members manage to struggle by with a 15% or 20% salary cut? Could they make do with a couple less staff members, or at least furlough them a couple of days each month? How many police officers would that keep on the job?

Instead of furloughing teachers, could we furlough or even eliminate some of the top heavy administrative positions in th escholl district? Could we privatize the L.A. Zoo, the convention center, or some of the other city-owned facilities? Could we eliminate some of the wasteful 'cultural affairs' and other frivolous and frequently duplicated city programs?

Needless to say, this isn't what's being discussed.Instead, the Fear is being shoved down people's throats 24-7. Recognize it now?

That's exactly the sort of protection racket President Obama is running now. It's the same old dishonest political ploy, just targeted towards a bigger audience. Rather than cut spending on wasteful government programs, he's deliberately taking it out on border patrol agents, social welfare programs for people who really need them, Pentagon and Defense Department employees, and members of the active duty military...and blaming the GOP House members for a scenario he engineered!

How many of these people could avoid being thrown out of the service or 'furloughed' for what it cost the country for the separate vacations the president and his wife just took? Would it have been better to spend that money elsewhere rather than on the President's lavish golf weekend and the First Lady's skiing jaunt at an exclusive Aspen Resort?

Oh yes, I forgot. They're the defenders of the middle class.

The reality is that the sequester is barely a slow down in out of control spending. We borrow that much every 28 days.

Federal spending has gone from a $2 trillion budget in 2002 to a $3.5 trillion budget in 2012, and there's no sign of a slowdown...not with this president. He's run up over $6 trillion in new debt. Any wonder that it's been almost four years since the Democrat run Senate has passed a budget?

That's the Sequestration Blues, folks. We've got a hard driven' free spending big legged guv'mint hellhound on our trail that eats money, and the harder we work, the faster our money goes and the more we go under.

Muddy, Memphis Slim, Willie Dixon or Robert Johnson could have made a song out of it.

Wall Street Responds With Leaflet Bomb On Occupy Chicago: "We Are Smarter, More Vicious"

http://patdollard.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/433806270.jpg

The worm may just be turning. The above is one of a whole slew of leaflets dropped from a Chicago office building on the 'Occupy Chicago' encampment, and it ties in with something I said here back when this started.

Full Transcript:

"We are Wall Street. It’s our job to make money. Whether it’s a commodity, stock, bond, or some hypothetical piece of fake paper, it doesn’t matter. We would trade baseball cards if it were profitable. I didn’t hear America complaining when the market was roaring to 14,000 and everyone’s 401k doubled every 3 years. Just like gambling, its not a problem until you lose. I’ve never heard of anyone going to Gamblers Anonymous because they won too much in Vegas.

Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are.

Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that.

For years teachers and other unionized labor have had us fooled. We were too busy working to notice. Do you really think that we are incapable of teaching 3rd graders and doing landscaping? We’re going to take your cushy jobs with tenure and 4 months off a year and whine just like you that we are so-o-o-o underpaid for building the youth of America. Say goodbye to your overtime and double time and a half. I’ll be hitting grounders to the high school baseball team for $5k extra a summer, thank you very much.

So now that we’re going to be making $85k a year without upside, Joe Mainstreet is going to have his revenge, right? Wrong! Guess what: we’re going to stop buying the new 80k car, we aren’t going to leave the 35 percent tip at our business dinners anymore. No more free rides on our backs. We’re going to landscape our own back yards, wash our cars with a garden hose in our driveways. Our money was your money. You spent it. When our money dries up, so does yours.

The difference is, you lived off of it, we rejoiced in it. The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee might get their way and knock us off the top of the pyramid, but it’s really going to hurt like hell for them when our fat asses land directly on the middle class of America and knock them to the bottom.

We aren’t dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive. The question is, now that Obama & his administration are making Joe Mainstreet our food supply…will he? and will they?”

Obama Pulls the Ol' Switcheroo - He Signs The Budget Bill, But Protects The Funding For His 'Czars'

Absolutely nothing like honest dealing, is there, Mr. President?

GOP Speaker John Boehner's deal with Harry Reid just got a little pricier.

While Prez Zero signed the legislation Boehner and Harry Reid hammered out, he also issued a signing statement, a legal declaration by a president on legislation they sign into law. Obama's notified lawmakers that he won't abide by the section of the new budget law defunding the establishment of so-called "czars."

Obama's 'czars' as you know, are informal advisers in various areas who aren't subject to Senate confirmation, get six figure salaries and huge staff budgets. They've been a major sore point for the Republicans, which is why they included in their spending bill a provision barring the use of federal funds for czars as part of the deal. Between this and his prior partisan attack dog speech on the budget, Obama essentially just told Boehner and the Republicans in Congress exactly where they can go and how to get there. That's the president's idea of 'bi-partisanship'.

Obama, in this as in most things, is essentially a dishonest man. The point where he agrees to a deal is the point where you need to check and make sure you still have your wallet.

So much for Boehner's sense of the art of the deal, hmm? It would have been far better to go for broke and start out on a high note from which you could then grudgingly climb down.

Perhaps Boehner and the others who supported this smoke and mirrors budget fiasco learned something from the experience. I hope so.
