There's Some Riots Going On..And It Was Planned

There's a number of riots going on in America right now. And there's no doubt they were planned.The excuse for them is the death of one George Floyd, a black man who was arrested by police in Minneapolis and died while in their control. There's a video (isn't there always?) showing Mr. Floyd being pulled over by police who were trying to arrest him for check forgery or passing counterfeit money, depending on what version you read.

BUT...I'm a bit puzzled. In the famous video, it shows George Floyd refusing to leave his car after he was stopped. The policeman dragged him out of his car and handcuffed him. SOP so far.  Then we see him handcuffed and seated on the pavement. Again, SOP (Standard Operational Procedure). Then we don't see anything until we see Floyd on the ground near the right side passenger door of his car with the cop kneeling on his neck. Definitely NOT SOP.So how did he get moved from leaning against the wall to the sidewalk near the car? What happened in between?

Did he make a run for it and have to get chased down? Did he heavily resist getting into the cop car? It will be interesting to find out. In any event, one of the other cops should have intervened. Did they?

And old and close high school friend of mine now retired from the LAPD tells me that something must have happened, because kneeling on someone's neck like that is a last resort and hardly ever used. In any event it was a stupid move.

Since this is Minneapolis, the four police officers involved were immediately fired, and the cop who did the kneeling has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter less than 30 hours after the incident took place.* And of course, violent riots broke out, mostly  in blue run cities. As we all know, they tend to be rather lenient of such things for political reasons.Nashville had its entire City Hall set on fire and of course, there was the usual 'shopping spree.' There's nothing that  expresses grief and a passion for law and order then grabbing a big screen TV for free or looting department  and liquor stores.

While the um, protests were masterminded by Black Lives Matter, Antifa's thugs and thugettes were obviously a huge part of the show. In fact, Antifa was very much involved.

Police cars and police were attacked, and in LA police were even shot at, although they were under orders NOT to shoot back. The mob, after the usual looting and destruction actually went onto the 101 Freeway, where they blocked traffic and attacked two police cars who were trying to keep them from being run over.

In Oakland's riot, A black federal officer, Patrick Underwood, was shot and killed and another FPS officer was wounded and in critical condition. They were victims of a drive by shooting right in front of the Ronald Dellums Federal Building. A number of other police were injured and some were killed in other 'peaceful demonstrations' around the country.

The most feckless and disgusting comments came from Jacob Frey, Minneapolis mayor and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms.

We are now confronting white supremacists, members of organized crime, out of state instigators, and possibly even foreign actors to destroy and destabilize our city and our region.

I'd say there was a mixture.

As for Mayor Bottoms, her response was disgraceful. First she talked about her black sons and how 'as a mother' she worries everyday about whether they'll be killed by the nasty, racist police. Who of course have been given a license to kill black people by President Trump who should 'just shut up.' She also explained to the rioters that they were looting and burning 'black owned businesses' without any words of concern for the destruction or looting of any businesses or property but those of her fellow blacks.

Talk about racism...I have a feeling she's bucking for the slot as Biden's VP.

The police for the most part are having any of their efforts to enforce law and order in their cities stymied by orders from the politicians involved and anything they do subject to micro analysis. Which of course means very little is being done towards stopping any of this. If you have a job, a pension and possibly your personal freedom to protect, you step very carefully if at all and just try to keep safe. And with a few exceptions, that's exactly what the cops are doing.

It's alsoobvious to me that the riots are well organized.There are plenty of reports of pallets of bricks having been "conveniently" staged near stores, banks and other buildings to be handy for the looters. Given the sort of people who were on the streets and the way it was coordinated in various locations, there's no doubt this was staged.

Ah, the age old question...Cui Bono, who benefits?

Obviously, the Democratic Party and the Left for various reasons.

First they're stuck with Biden (probably) and he isn't really making too many black friends
as of yet. This is an opportunity for his handlers to write up some statements for him to make about economic inequality, reparations for slavery, how wonderful Black Lives Matter is, et cetera. And also a perfect way for the Dems to paint Trump as an authoritarian/racist/what have you, and make him call out the National Guard or even the military to end the riots.

I can just see an elderly gentleman with the initials GS on the phone saying '"The pandemic isn't working. Call out the rioters. Let me know how much money you need."

George Soros spent  spent something like   $30 millions to defeat George Bush, and Bush was a dysfunctional  RINO.  Imagine how much he is spending to incite this civil war and defeat Donald Trump! And he's probably not the only one. The DNC has lots of millionaire celebs and others willing to shell out for the cause.

You'll notice that a lot of black race pimps are also being given time just now to sound the trumpets.

Robert Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television has the answer of course. He wants $14 trillion in reparations for slavery to people who were never slaves. The black population of America is 45,532,100 - 13%. That works out to $330,000 for every black man, woman and child in America.

Of course, Mr.Johnson neglects to figure in what's already been paid in terms the War on poverty, social welfare, affirmative action which gave backs priority in financial aid and placement in universities over far more qualified applicants, The money for the funding for the traditional black colleges, the money that formed and funded the civil rights movement (both almost entirely donated by Jews), repayment to businesses who were wrecked and looted in the various riots,  and of course,the cost of the Civil War, all figured in today's money.

In any event, I suggest that we start funding any reparations by confiscating Mr. Johnson's entire net worth to begin with.After all, he was never a slave...

Cornell West was on CNN just the other day yakking to Anderson Cooper about how wonderful and  the riots are, how evil Trump is and how we need to 'change the system' with  socialism that 'spreads the wealth around democratically' because America is 'a failed social experiment.'

West is a known anti-semite and a real fan of Black Lives Matter, another anti-semitic group, so this is to be expected.  Antifa has the same agenda when it comes to Jews and Israel. In Fairfax, a Jewish neighborhood in LA, every synagogue was vandalized by these people, as well as other synagogues and Jewish community buildings in other cities.

 

Speaking of race pimps and Jew haters, Al Sharpton also had a few things to say on his home network MSNBC  I won't even dignify them by repeating them.

So how do we stop it?

It's actually fairly simple. You stop bad behavior when there are consequences for it. Anyone who has ever trained a dog or raised a child understands that. If there are no consequences, the bad behavior continues. In this case of course, the bad behavior has been tolerated for some time...the politicians who run these cities need the votes, y'know. And felons and the kind of people who violently engage in looting and domestic terrorism are part of the bloc who votes for them especially in blue run states and cities.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), a decorated war vet and one of my favorite politicians put it this way:

The riots and the anarchy we’ve seen across the country have nothing to do with the death of George Floyd,” Cotton said. “In Washington, D.C., they set fire to a historic church attended by every president since James Madison. They defaced the Department of Veterans Affairs and the World War II memorial, which honor our veterans. They defaced the Lincoln Memorial, a temple in which we remember the great emancipator.”

“What the president can do is say that justice will be done in accordance with law for George Floyd,” he added**. “And we will always respect the right of peaceful protest, as many of these cities saw in the daytime. But the rioting, the anarchy, and the looting ends tonight. If local law enforcement is overwhelmed, if local politicians will not do their most basic job to protect our citizens, let’s see how these anarchists respond when the 101st Airborne is on the other side of the street.”

I have to agree. The one sure cure for rioting and looting is a dose of lead. Apparently a number of Americans feel this way. When the people who are supposedly charged with enforcing the law can't or won't, then it's time to take charge of it ourselves, or have the feds do it, since they don't need to answer to some mayor or governor catering to a certain voting bloc for re-election

I have never been prouder of President Trump than I have been the last few days. He has faced the most unwarranted criticism and outright lies from the media and the internet social media sites like Twitter and Facebook of any recent president and he has done it with courage. To see him yesterday walking to the vandalized historic St. John’s Episcopal Church while the Media rats yelled at him was definitely an act of courage. His reward, of course, was to be accused by these same media rats  of firing tear gas at 'peaceful protestors' for a photo op. As we now know, that was a blatant and deliberate lie.

Joe Biden's handlers even wrote him a lying statement to repeat for the media as well;

"When peaceful protestors dispersed in order for a president, a president from the doorstep of the people’s house, the White House, using tear gas and flash grenades in order to stage a photo-op at one of the most historic churches in the country or at least in Washington, DC, we can be forgiven for believing the president is more interested in power than in principle."

As we now know, these 'protesters' were far from peaceful,  and United States Park Police acting Chief Gregory T. Monahan made the following statement:

At approximately 6:33 pm, violent protestors on H Street NW began throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids. The protestors also climbed onto a historic building at the north end of Lafayette Park that was destroyed by arson days prior. Intelligence had revealed calls for violence against the police, and officers found caches of glass bottles, baseball bats and metal poles hidden along the street.

…

As many of the protestors became more combative, continued to throw projectiles, and attempted to grab officers’ weapons, officers then employed the use of smoke canisters and pepper balls. No tear gas was used by USPP officers or other assisting law enforcement partners to close the area at Lafayette Park.

Happy Hands Joe has always been a liar, so no surprise.

President Trump was also rewarded with some shrew of an Episcopal Bishop screaming that the president, 'had no right to go there.' She apparently forgot that every president since James Madison has visited that church. Disgusting.

And President Trump's simple  statement in response to the hideous media jackals bellowing at him  was simply to say, "We have the greatest country in the world. We're going to keep it that way."

The media  and social media have  also intensified their excusing of the violence, looting and vandalism as 'protest.' CNN, MSNBC, the New York Ties  the Washington Post and Twitter have been particularly odious.

"Now too many see the protests as the problem. No, the problem is what forced your fellow citizens to take to the streets: persistent, poisonous inequities and injustice. And please, show me where it says protesters are supposed to be polite and peaceful."

Umm here, Fredo...it's called the First Amendment:

Fredo is also an Antifa supporter and cheerleader, so this is no surprise.

Even his big brother, New York's Governor openly said the protesters aren't peaceful. Not that he's doing much about it. Of course, he's also responsible for freeing lots of violent felons from jail and refusing to jail plenty of other criminals, which certainly intensified the problem,no?

Ok, so where do we go from here?

This is a sign of the Left's desperation. The impeachment fraud failed, their media allies don't have the clout they used to, the Pandemic didn't work, and they're stuck with Joe Biden. So bring on the riots, hmm?

Except that's not going to work either, although it's going to continue until it's forcibly stopped. The Left still have no clue who they're dealing with.

President Trump and AG Bill Barr have already started the game. Now that Antifa is officially a terrorist organization, not only can they be fought effectively but the people who have been funding them can also be investigated, arrested, tried and jailed for material support for terrorism. That could very well include certain millionaires, Hollywood celebs, and even certain politicians. The rot goes deep. It's also quite possible that certain media outlets can be sued for inciting violence.

Trump is also in a position to declare martial law if the Dem mayors still handcuff their police and refuse to do anything constructive. As I said, lead cures riots and consequences ends bad behavior...it never fails. And finally, given how the investigations regarding the attempted coup now going on, there are very likely to be a lot of Obama's former associates and fellow conspirators headed for jail.

Our gutsy President  also has the alternative of exercising his deal making expertise. 'You want money to rebuild your city after you sat back and let it burn? I want your unconstitutional sanctuary laws repealed and your voter registration lists and cooperation with ICE. Otherwise, no deal.'

And me? I live in a state where you don't even need a permit to buy a long gun, although you do need one for  a handgun.You can buy all the ammo you need.  Its Democrat Governor tried to change that and ended up having to forget the idea when both the population and the legislature rebelled. I doubt he gets re-elected based on how I hear him generally referred to. While where I live has a small percentage of Black people,they're decent people with jobs, houses and something to lose, the police here are respected, crime in general is low and overall, it's a pretty civilized place  so there haven't been any riots here nor are there likely to be.

If this doesn't describe where you live, I'd arm up. An armed society is a polite society, and if you live in a blue run city, the police might not be there or  simply won't be able to do anything to help you..orders from upstairs, you know.

We do have a great country...and yes, we're going to keep it that way. Just wait and see

* Wow, that was quick! A lot faster then they moved to charge a black Somali policeman who shot an unarmed white woman in cold blood not too long ago.

** President Trump immediately ordered the FBI and the DOJ to thoroughly investigate this as soon as it happened.

Thought Crime! College President Begs For Forgiveness After Saying 'All Lives Matter'

 

Smith college president Kathleen McCartney has learned an important lesson. It's not enough to just be down for the struggle. You must also grovel, as the price for your white privilege.

Smith College has long been known as an outpost of progressive Left wing ideology, and there's no doubt that President McCartney embodies this, holding the position she does. But apparently she made a major error in communicating the dialectic, if you take my meaning.

She sent an e-mail to her entire student body intending to express solidarity with the #Ferguson and Eric Garner protestors. Not that she was exactly going to go and trash business and loot or anything, but she wanted them to know she felt their pain, so to speak. And as she expressed it, “We are united in our insistence that all lives matter,” as she made clear she was strongly behind the rioting protests, writing that the grand jury decisions had “led to a shared fury… We gather in vigil, we raise our voices in protest.”

Whoopsie!

 

She was literally bombarded by outraged cries of ra-a-aacism from the intended recipients for apparently changing the slogan 'Black Lives Matter' to 'all lives matter.'

She was accused of asserting her white privilege for inferring  that  whites were entitled  to share in the sacred rites of black victimology. How dare she!

The Daily Hampshire Gazette, which first covered the story, quoted one Smith sophomore, Cecelia Lim, as saying, “it felt like she was invalidating the experience of black lives.”

Now, Cecilia is Chinese, but she's obviously has a more  direct knowledge of black lives, right? Or at least a better grasp of her place in the universe of victimology. 'Shared rage?'  Nah, we own that, whitey. Although we do accept cash, checks and credit cards.

Now, for some educators, this could have been a teachable moment. President McCartney could have risen to the occasion. She could have explained to these self-involved twits that all lives do matter, that no group has a monopoly on morality and to assume so is just another pernicious form of racism. She could have told them that justice and the struggle for justice belong to everyone or it belongs to no one.

 But of course, President  McCartney didn't do that. She tearfully apologized for her racism and white privilege with all the zeal of an accused bourgeoisie  undergoing a 'self-criticism' trial/beat down  by Mao's Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. She claimed she had no idea, no idea at all that the phrase 'all lives matter' would be seen as a co-opting of 'black lives matter' and a dead giveaway of her unconscious racism.And of course she said that  she was 'committed to working as a white ally, to learning from the lived experiences of people of color, and to acknowledging mistakes.'

It appears her students aren't the only ones whom need educating. Pity about that.

It's not getting too much attention right now, but Hugo Chavez's successor Presdidente Nicolas Maduro is consolidating control with an iron hand and rewarding his followers the way dictators always do.

Venezuela itself is in dire economic straits after years of Chavez's 'Bolivarian revolution' mismanagement. Inflation is rampant, the currency is essentially worthless, and the standard of living is collapsing as the prices of staples are through the roof. People are only allowed one shopping trip per week, and ala' Cuba, many times they don't find much when they get there. When faced with massive protests led mainly by students and middle class, Maduro's response has been to b;same the U.S. and crack down...hard.

Oddly enough, I've yet to hear President Obama say 'Maduro must go' the way he talked about Mubarak...oh wait...this is a hard Left socialist dictatorship! Why would anyone even ask?

Avalanche! Thousands Of Patriotic Bikers Rally In DC To Honor 9/11 And Protest 'Million Muslim March'

 

Today, in Washington DC,  thousands of patriotic bikers poured into the capitol in a rally to honor 9/11 and protest a 'Million Muslim March' heavily touted by Muslim Brotherhood front groups like CAIR and ISNA.

The 2 Million Bikers to DC ride didn't draw two million participants, but it probably drew a couple of hundred thousand. The 'Million Muslim March' ended up drawing at most a hundred or so participants, and by some counts as little as 25 or 30.

Bikers went out in groups of fifty from the starting point, the Harly-Davidson store in Maryland's Prince  George’s County. in a line that stretched for close to half a mile and kept growing.

Because the bikers were denied a permit by federal and local authorities that would have offered the riders a police escort through traffic, the actual ride was a lot more complicated than it should have been.

This was a sore spot with organizers who thought the denial was politically motivated, especially since the Muslim event received a permit easily. The American Muslim Political Action Committee (MPAC, a Muslim Brotherhood front group, scheduled a rally for 9/11 to draw attention to what they call 'unfair fear of Muslims' after the Sept.11 terrorist attacks. Of course, they picked 9/11 to do so, something I'm sure a lot of people saw as insensitive and even aggressive.

 Here are some reactions, as quoted in the Washington Times:

Waiting for the call to put up his kickstand, 68-year-old Jim Hearley said he rode his bike about 650 miles from Ellijay, Ga., to show his support.

“I had to do it. It was the patriot thing to do,” the former Marine and Vietnam veteran said, adding that the Muslim rally was what originally drew him to the ride.

“Any other day it probably wouldn’t have been as big as it is, but it pissed off a lot of veterans and a lot of Americans.”

“They picked the wrong day to do it,” said Kelly Volb, a 42-year-old Pennsylvania woman who attended the ride. “This is to remember everyone who perished on 9/11, out of respect to them.”

While he waited for the ride to begin, Danny Johnson shook hands with fellow riders and recounted memories of being in New York City 12 years ago. The self-described bishop with the Heat of Fire City Church in Louisville, Ky., gave last rites to victims at the Brooks Brothers store on Liberty Street across from ground zero. He said he has spent every Sept. 11 since in Manhattan — until this year.

“I think America has spent 12 years at a funeral,” the 52-year-old said. “We’ve got to revive our country and do something different than we’re doing. It’s time it had a resurrection.”

Turkey's "Ergenekon" Political Show Trial Concludes

After 5 years, the "Ergenekon" conspiracy trial in Turkey has ended with an expected verdict that will widen the deep divides in Turkey between Islamists and non-Islamists.

After Tayipp Erdoğan and the AKP took power, revised Turkey's constitution and stacked the courts with Islamist friendly judges, they set out to destroy their political opposition, largely rooted in the military, Turkey's constitutionally mandated guardian of secular government since the days of Ataturk, who founded modern Turkey.

The trial was based on a charge of conspiring to overthrow the Erdoğan government -"Ergenekon" is the name of a mythical valley where a wolf supposedly saved Turks from being annihilated - but in the end the suspects were not only senior military members but included politicians, journalists and academics.

In true show trial fashion, it was largely conducted in secret, no credible evidence was ever produced against the vast majority of the accused and in the end, there were a record number of 254 guilty verdicts,19 of whom received life imprisonment, including retired Gen. İlker Başbuğ, who was the chief of staff of the Turkish military from 2008 to 2010 and was convicted without any evidence he was involved in any attempted coup. The verdicts came even after some defendants were able to prove during the trial that data and documents that incriminated them were loaded into their computers by the police after their arrests 'accidentally'.

On Monday when the verdicts were announced, all main access roads to the courthouse in the coastal town of Silivri were closed, as was airspace above it. Police fired rounds of tear gas on groups of protesters and pushed back crowds attempting  to approach the building, the defendants’ relatives were not allowed inside the courtroom and only carefully selected journalists were allowed to observe the sentencing.

Most Turks love conspiracy theories, so the governments tales of a 'deep state' shadow network originally resonated at first. But the subsequent waves of arrests and the way the trials themselves were conducted have convinced many Turks that this was nothing but a settling of scores against the regime's political opponents. Among the defendants currently jailed who were sentenced for Ergenekon charges were journalists Mustafa Balbay, Tuncay Özkan and Hikmet Çiçek, with Balbay and Çiçek receiving 34 and 21 years respectively and Özkan being sentenced to life in prison. They appear to be guilty of nothing other than writing against an Islamist takeover of Turkey and criticizing the increasingly autocratic Erdoğan government.

The defendants can appeal the verdicts,but given how Erdoğan and the AKP have stacked the courts, this is pretty much a done deal, for now.

This has added resonance in view of the harsh police crack downs recently on anti-Erdoğan protestors nationwide.

Riots Continue In Turkey As 13 Arrested For 'Provoking Riots' Via Social Media

 

The riots and demonstrations against the Islamist government of Turkey continued for the tenth straight day.

Police again deployed tear gas, riot clubs and water cannons to brutalize the thousands protesters that gathered in downtown Ankara's downtown Kizilay square. A number of people were reported injured.





13 people were arrested in the city of Adana because they were accused of 'provoking riots' with posts on Facebook and Twitter as police used used TOMA vehicles and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

 

In another development, Turkish President Abdullah Gül approved a bill restricting the sale and advertising of alcohol, an Islamist supported bill that was one of the causes of the riots.

Meanwhile Islamist Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan warned demonstrates (who he previously referred to as criminals and terrorists) that he was running out of patience:

 

After riot police clashed with anti-government protesters in several cities in the early hours of Sunday morning, Mr Erdogan told thousands of cheering supporters in Ankara: "We remained patient, we are still patient but there's a limit to our patience."

"Nobody should be pessimistic. Nobody should worry. Turkey went through many events in the past and will overcome this, too."

He toured the country on Sunday, urging his backers to show their strength by voting for his Justice and Development Party.

"I want you to teach them a first lesson through democratic means at the ballot box," he told his backers in the southern city of Adana, referring to next year's local polls.

In the southern port of Mersin, he raged against participants in the anti-government protests. "The youth that curses its Prime Minister cannot be my youth. If you care about democracy, this Prime Minister is at your disposal" he said, declaring the protesters anarchists and terrorists.

Erdogan also let his supporters know that pro-government rallies are being planned next weekend in Istanbul and Ankara.

"On Saturday, are you ready for a big Ankara meeting? ... The next day we will have the Istanbul meeting," Erdogan said to cheering crowds in Ankara, as riot police moved in against protesters.

In Istanbul in particular, the protesters enjoy considerable support. A number of unions have come out supporting them and last night, supporters of three rival football clubs - Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas - marched together to Taksim Square. In Turkey, where (soccer)football riots are quite common, this is a very big deal.

In spite of what Erdogan said,Turkey's deputy prime minster Huseyin Celik, came out solidly against early elections. "You don't decide on early elections because people are marching on the streets," he said.

Many of the protesters have been adamant about staying the course, but with Erdogan having purged the army and the judiciary and stacked them with loyal Islamists, there's little doubt in my mind that he'll retain control.

 

These people are protesting for freedom and democracy. And they're being brutalized.

I seem to recall that when this happened in Egypt, President Obama raced to involve himself, do whatever he could to enable regime change and send signals to the Egyptian Army by calling for Mubarak's ouster.

Here, he's silent for some reason....oh, wait.

In Egypt, the protesters were the Islamists, the Muslim Brotherhood who were tryng to take power from a secular Muslim government. In Turkey, it's just the reverse. The Islamists have the power and the protesters are secular, pro-democracyt liberals!

That explains a great deal, doesn't it? And not just about Turkey.

A Few Words On The 'Turkish Spring'

As many of you are probably aware, there are massive protests going on in Turkey against the Islamist AKP regime headed by Tayyip Erdogan.

There have been huge protests in several areas of the country, most notably in Istanbul's Taksim Square. Two people have been killed and more than 3,000 injured in the six days of unrest. Over 1,700 people have been arrested.

 

Turkey's police cracked down violently on the demonstrators, using tear gas.pepper spray, riot clubs, bullets and water cannon to disperse the protestors to the point where Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc, whose nominally in charge while Erdogan is out of the country actually apologized for the excessive violence.

 Meanwhile, Prime Minister Erdogan has blamed the violence on Twitter, drunks, extremists, and foreign agents, Jacob Resneck reports in USA Today.

 

However, in spite of the apology ( which obviously wasn't vetted by Erdgan) police are still monitoring social media and the internet for anti-government messages and activity and dragging people off to prison. In Turkey, anything the government dislikes can be labled 'anti-Turkish activity' and prosecuted as a felony.

In Taksim Square, thousands of protestors have put together an improvised 'camp'. Small tents have appeared, food and face masks against tear gas are on sale and a library is in the making. On a street near the square some protesters skirmished overnight with police who used tear gas.

Members of more than a dozen labor unions banging drums, trailing banners and chanting "Tayyip resign" have marched into Taksim; there were similar scenes in Kizilay park in middle of Ankara's government district.

While the police are definitely in evidence, they're not charging into the protestors as they did in the first few days, and are apparently waiting for them to get tired of camping out and disperse.

Aside from violence, the protests have featured unique touches like overt beer drinking and 'kiss-ins' to protest the AKP's Islamist rule and authoritarian nature, including massive press censorship,( there are more journalists in jail in Turkey than in any other country) heavy handed prosecution of anyone who criticizes government officials or “Islamic values”.

As much as I would love to see Erdogan and the AKP tossed out of power, it's highly unlikely for a number of reasons.

First of all,the AKP's hold on government and its parliamentary majority don't come from cities like Ankara and Istanbul, which are relatively cosmopolitan. It comes from the huge hinterland of Anatolia,where you find the women veiled, the people less educated for the most part and the unquestioning rule of Islam strongest. In these areas, far away from the sophisticated sections of the cities is where the AKP draws its strength and where the likes of Tayyip Erdogan are the equivalent of rock stars.

While there are some protests in more remote areas like Hatay province, the majority of unrest is confined to the same places that protested against Erdogan's initial takeover in the first place.There's limited support elsewhere.

Second, Erdogan and the AKP have made sure that the army and the judiciary aren't a factor and are packed with loyal AKP supporters. Turkey's army used to be the constitutional guarantor of secular democracy. Erdogan and the AKP changed all that.

And finally, don't look for President Obama, whose been so ready to encourage and enable Islamist takeovers in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya in the name of 'democracy' to intervene in a similar way in favor of democracy in Turkey.

This president and Tayyip Erdogan are very close personally, and President Obama is interested in promoting Islamists, not democracy and freedom.

Nah, I'm kidding!

Doug Geiss (Taylor) and the entire Democratic caucus stands against the use of violence and do not condone its use. We condemn violence, the destruction of property and all other illegal activity in the strongest possible terms. We urge our supporters and those who work for bargaining rights in Michigan to stand with us in our call for nonviolence.”

That was from Rep. Doug Geiss, who earlier threatened violence, saying "there will be blood".

Egypt: The Army Steps In To Quash Anti-Morsi Protests

 

What's left of Egypt's liberal democratic activists, secularists and Christians aren't going quietly.

They've staged massive protests over Islamist President Mohammed Morsi's assuming what amounts to dictatorial powers pretty much along the lines of his predecessor, Mubarak, with the exception that it's all now being done in the name of Allah.

Clashes between the demonstrators, pro-Muslim Brotherhood counter demonstrators rounded up by the regime and security forces have left seven people dead, and Morsi actually had to exit the presidential palace yesterday when a few demonstrators momentarily broke through the police line.

Female anti-Morsi demonstrators in particular have been deliberately targeted for sexual assault by what appeasr to be organized gangs.

The Army had stayed out of this entirely, preferring to retain their popular image as the Egyptian people's protectors..until today.

This morning, army tanks surrounded the presidential palace, blockades were set up and the protestors were instructed to leave Tahrir Square immediately. Most of them did just that.

The commander of the Republican Guard, the army unit that guards the palace said their intent was to separate the rival demonstrations and the ensuing violence, not to repress them.

"The armed forces, and at the forefront of them the Republican Guard, will not be used as a tool to oppress the demonstrators," General Mohamed Zaki told the state news agency, MENA.

Which is why they ordered Tahrir Square cleared, of course.

The Egyptian military gets $1.3 billion in direct U.S. aid. Those tanks you see above (and believe me, the demonstrators know it) are American.

A lot of that money doesn't go for outright military expenditures. It goes to help fund and maintain private businesses the Egyptian Army owns outright, many times with army recruits working in them at government expense for the price of their army pay rather than for what a private employer would have to pay in wages.

I'd say that a signal has been sent from the Obama White House, one way or the other.

Either Morsi has been told quietly that he needs to back off and the army instructed to end the violence, or more likely, he received a message from the White House backing him but advising he step a bit more lightly while he's consolidating power, and the army was privy to it.Especially since their higher command was recently purged of every member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and most of the other Mubarak holdovers and replaced by Islamist officers loyal to Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The majority of Egyptians want Islamist, sharia based rule.That's what the election was all about. If it copmes to a showdown, Morsi and the Brotherhood will win. It remains to be seen how they finesse it to avoid making the Obama Administration move to cut their funding.

Given our president's liking for Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood, that might not be all that difficult, at least for awhile.

We've seen this movie before, when President Eisenhower courted Egyptian strongman Gamal Abdul Nasser back in the 1950's. Ike eventually got wise, but a lot of taxpayer money was spent before that happened.

Muslims Protest Google World Wide Over 'Insulting Mohammed'

 

An estimated 10,000 British Muslims descended on Google's London offices in the first of what was described as a series of world-wide protests:

A protest by 10,000 Muslims outside the offices of Google in London today is just the first in an orchestrated attempt to force the company to remove an anti-Islamic film from website YouTube in Britain.

Thousands had traveled from as far afield as Glasgow to take part in the demonstration, ahead of a planned million-strong march in Hyde Park in coming weeks.

Anger over 'The Innocence of Muslims', an American-produced film which insults the Prophet Mohammad and demeans Muslims, according to protesters, remains available to watch on the website YouTube, a subsidiary of Google.

Organiser Masoud Alam said: "Our next protest will be at the offices of Google and YouTube across the world. We are looking to ban this film".

You see, that's the real objective. If they can't criminalize any criticism of Islam just yet, to frighten any possible outlets with the usual Muslim seethe fest:

One of the speakers, Sheikh Faiz Al-Aqtab Siddiqui, told The Daily Telegraph: "Terrorism is not just people who kill human bodies, but who kill human feelings as well. The makers of this film have terrorised 1.6 billion people.

"Organisations like Google are key players and have to take responsibility for civility. You can't just say it doesn't matter that it's freedom of speech. It's anarchy." {...}

Self-employed businessman Ahmed Nasar said he was worried the video could lead to violence in Britain in the same way as it had abroad. "If you push people too far," he said, "You will turn the peaceful elements into violence."

Ah, yes...always the implicit threat of violence and terrorism against innocents if they don't get their way.

So far, Google is holding firm. A YouTube spokesperson said: "We work hard to create a community everyone can enjoy and which also enables people to express different opinions.

"This can be a challenge because what's OK in one country can be offensive elsewhere. This video - which is widely available on the Web - is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube."

Of course you understand that the faux call for global civility only applies to non-Muslims, not Islam. Embattled Christians from Nigeria to Pakistan to Europe could tell you all about that.

And of course, it also isn't meant to cover the explicit Jew hatred expounded daily in mosques, media and madrassahs all over the Muslim world. The examples are too numerous to even mention.

Actually, I agree with the protestors to the extent that insulting someone else's religion is, if nothing else, bad manners. But not to the point where I'm going to ignore basic facts on the ground and lie to myself and others.

However, this does provide an opportunity for Muslims to lead the way and show us all how we ought to behave.

Take a look at the hatred, misogyny and violence towards non-believers in your own societies. And clean up the fetid mess in your own back yard before you criticize ours.

And for those Muslims living in the west whom find its freedoms intolerable to their religious sensibilities, vote with your feet and leave. Return to the 7th century Disneylands you came from, or anywhere else you wish that conforms to your morality. There's nothing stopping you, and it's a win win for everyone.

After all, wouldn't your prophet applaud your leaving the sinful west and its easy life to return to lands ruled by true Islam?

Code Pink's Vagina Protest At The RNC Convention...

Code Pink and their assorted groupies staged an opening day protest yesterday in Tampa...dressed as vaginas.

At least this time, they're not raising money for people that are shooting at out troops or taunting wounded verterans at Walter Reed.

One of the more interesting comments was from one woman who claimed 'we're the majority in America'.

You know what? In her upscale, far left neighborhood in Marin, Berkeley, Madison, Cambridge, Manhattan or Hyde Park, she's entirely correct. This is exactly how many of these people think, if that's the right word for it.They live in a bubble and rarely ever encounter anyone with different views.

How To Make OWS Happy By Giving Them What They Want

I note with interest that the lovely people at OWS, in conjunction with a number of the more radical unions like the SEIU and other hard line Leftist groups have chosen the old Communist holiday of May Day for 'general strikes', blowing up bridges, threatening banks, obstructing roads to congest traffic and making it more stressful, expensive and time consuming for people to work and do business while in general having a party and acting out at other people's expense

In Democrat-run California, the OWS movement has always had major support from state and city governments. In Los Angeles for instance, the City Council passed a resolution of support and encouraged an encampment in the park near the City Hall...until it became a fetid public health hazard. The cleanup and repairing the damage cost the taxpayers over one million dollars.

Most people object to this kind of activity, but the OWS people dislike capitalism and revel in protesting it in every way possible. Having thought about this, I came up with a solution that's bound to make everyone happy, especially since unions like the SEIU and various immigrant rights (read 'illegal alien') groups are part of this May Day coalition.

I suggest that we treat the OWS folks and anyone else whom wishes to participate to a free one way trip to countries where true socialism is practiced, where the banksters have a limited to non-existent role and where things are generally run more to OWS standards. In exchange, for every OWS protester who leaves, we can give out one green card to a hard working illegal alien and help them come 'out of the shadows', as it were. Some of them have skills as plumbers, electricians or construction workers, and even those whom don't tend to be glad of a chance to soil themselves with capitalism, so it's a win-win.

The immigrant rights groups will certainly love it, and some of the unions who can possibly look forward to new members will too.

As for the OWS folks, they will be in nirvana. Imagine how much they'll love a place like Cuba, Myanmar, Laos or North Korea, where the government hates capitalism as much as they do! Free health care, equality for all and none of the shallow values of capitalism whatsoever. Plus, since many of these countries have a lot of career opportunities in their agricultural sector, not only will they be employed but will have the opportunity to get back to the land and live organically, in a manner of speaking.

As a matter of fact, the Chinese might even be willing to help out. In the past, the OWS crowd has shut down ports on the West Coast, thus directly affecting their exports, which the folks and the unions are against anyway...jobs, capitalism, outsourcing and all that. The Chinese always need another pair of hands for their factories and farms, and while China has certain capitalist traits those aspects are under strict government control, which the OWS'ers will absolutely love. And hey, no more student loan payments!

The possibilities are endless.

As for our own rotten, corrupt capitalist society, we will be saying goodbye to a group of people who certainly won't be missed if they aren't around anymore.

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.

Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Double Standard On Israel? You Bet There Is

Yesterday,you saw in these pages a story about IDF Lieutenant Colonel Shalom Eisner who has been suspended from duty and is likely to be disciplined after striking an 'activist' belonging to the terrorist supporting International Solidarity Movement with his M-16 who was blocking a highway and creating a major security risk.

Apparently the Danes are satisfied with the way Israelis are proceeding:

A diplomatic incident with Denmark over an IDF officer who slammed the face of a Danish protester with his M16 rifle on Saturday was averted by the IDF’s quick disciplinary action against the officer and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s immediate condemnation, diplomatic officials said Monday.

In a statement posted on the website of Denmark’s Foreign Ministry, Danish Foreign Minister Villy Sovndal said that “we do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the incident” and that Denmark’s ambassador to Israel Liselotte Kjærsgaard Plesner had “immediately asked the Israeli authorities for an explanation.”

“I can see that the soldier involved was immediately suspended and the matter is now being investigated,” Sovndal said.

Sovndal also noted that Netanyahu had condemned the incident.

“We must all condemn the use of force, which apparently has occurred against the demonstrators,” Sovndal said.

The Danish Foreign Minister condemns the use of force on unarmed protesters. Which brings up the question...how do Danish authorities deal with unarmed protestors who block the streets?



And remember, that's without the impetus of a mob of howling 'Palestinians' stoning cars or the risk of snipers and Molotov cocktails used on vehicles that are blocked in like sitting ducks.(Hat tip Elder of Ziyon)

By the way, Lt. Col. Eisner's troops get it,even if the politicians don't.

Israeli IDF Officer Investigated In Beating Of ISM 'Activist'

This week, there were a number of 'Palestinian activists' from Europe in Israel,part of an organized effort to cause as much disruption as they could. A number of them. part of what was called the 'flytilla' had their tickets cancelled by EU airlines and were not permitted to leave their home countries,but a number of them, notably from the terrorist supporting International Solidarity Movement managed to get in.

What you're seeing above was a video made by the ISM that has been big news in Israel because it shows an IDF Lieutenant Colonel using the butt of his M-16 on a Danish ISM activist. Th eofficer has been suspended and an investigation is pending.

Now, let's hear the soldier's side of the story:

Lieutenant-Colonel Shalom Eisner regretted an incident in which he beat a foreign activist with an M-16 rifle on Sunday. "I should not have flung my weapon like that," he told his associates. "But those are 60 seconds out of a two-hour event," he noted.

...

Ynet has obtained Eisner's version of events as he told it to his associates. The deputy commander of the Jordan Valley Territorial Brigade said that after hearing of the activists' intention of blocking Route 90 he showed up at the scene and ordered the forces to prevent the blocking of the road.

"I explained to the activists that many travelers were using the road because of the holiday and that they are posing a major security risk," he said. Eisner noted he had done the same thing when groups of right-wing activists had tried to access the road for protests.

He said he allowed the activists to demonstrate inside the village of Ouja and ride off the road. "All was calm and in control and that is why I didn't bring a water canon and gave them 15 minutes to protest," he said.

"It was a group of 60 activists and suddenly two buses arrived and the activists all together called to block the road while closing our barrier. One of the Palestinian organizers told me at this stage that she no longer had control over the event."

Lt. Col. Eisner claims that some of the protesters started attacking him with sticks which caused one of his fingers to break. He also suffered a major injury in his wrist which required a cast. "The weapon was the only thing I had in my hands. The whole thing lasted 60 seconds, we prevented them from getting on the road and they boarded the bus. Obviously, they didn't show the part where they attacked us with sticks in the video."

A traffic jam in Israel in that area is a very different animal than one in say, suburban Philadelphia or Los Angeles. Highway 90 is the main north-south road through the Jordan Valley. You have a line of cars trapped who are sitting ducks for Molotov cocktails, sniper fire or stones through the windshield, and according to at least one of my sources some stones had actually started to be thrown by 'Palestinians' collaborating with the ISM 'activists' in the area, and it would only have gotten worse the longer it went on.

Also, you had a total of six soldiers against 200 'activists' and 'Palestinians'.

Israeli PM Netanyahu has condemned the soldier's actions, and as I mentioned a full IDF inquiry is proceeding.

But as far as I'm concerned Lieutenant Colonel Eisner did nothing wrong and behaved with admirable restraint. he probably prevented a number of serious injuries and possibly saved some lives by getting that road cleared promptly.

The only fault I have to find with him is that he used the wrong end of his M-16 on these people.

Occupy Oakland Creeps Riot, Break Into City Hall, Burn American Flag

You'll remember that far left Oakland mayor Democrat Jean Quan was noticeably tolerant and supportive of the #Occupy Oakland creeps the last time they erupted back in November.Their pestilential encampment was only dismantled by police after it became a major health hazard.

Over the weekend, #Occupy Oakland repaid the city's tolerance by breaking into City Hall and did massive damage to the facility, including seizing American flags and burning them as part of the festivities.They also tore down fencing at the adjacent Henry Kaiser convention center and smashed everything they could get their hands on, including construction equipment left onsite. The #Occupy mob fought with police throughout the entire day, throwing rocks, bottles and other objects at officers. The Police responded by deploying smoke, tear gas and bean bag rounds. They later marched downtown,breaking into a number of buildings including a YMCA and damaging them.Over 300 were arrested.

The riot occurred after #Occupy protesters demanded the use a vacant building as a social center and threatened to to shut down the port, occupy the airport and take over City Hall.

Mayor Quan was typically schizoid about the event, on one hand demanding that the rioters "stop using Oakland as its playground" and on the other hand refusing to condemn the #Occupy movement, blaming on a small "very radical, violent" splinter group within #Occupy for the violence and destruction.

In media stories about this and other incidents, it's notable that no mention has been made of the fact that prominent Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and President Obama have explicitly endorsed the #Occupy protesters and everything they stand for. And that the Democrats and of course Democrat paymaster George Soros have helped finance it.

Egypt Erupts In Massive Anti-Government Protests

For the past three days (remember these things always start after Friday prayers when the mullahs and imams whip up the faithful)protesters and Egyptian security forces have been fighting what amounts to a street war in Cairo and elsewhere that has killed at least 10 people.

The police and the army responded to barrages of rocks and molotov cocktails with extreme force, shooting teargas, real bullets and rubber bullets, beating protesters severely with metal batons and dragging them away to waiting police vans.

This comes as Egypt had its second round of post-Mubarak elections. Like the first round, held in the relatively sophisticated cities of Cairo and Alexandria, the vote in the second round appears to have been decisively won by the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party and the even more radical Salafi al-Nour Party.

The Brotherhood claims they got around 40% of the votes, while the Salifists are claiming 35%, an even larger slice than they got before. This round of elections took place in nine provinces, in Islamiyya, Suez and Giza, mainly in the outskirts of the big cities.

The protests are being directed against the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and its head Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the de facto transitional rulers of the country. And as I pointed out previously, the ongoing protests are the result of some pretty clever tactics by the Muslim Brotherhood.

The army was formerly seen as heroes by the Egyptian masses because they had pointedly refused to fire on protesters in places like Tahrir Square during the riots against ex-President Mubarak. They're not anymore, because the Brotherhood and other Islamist groups have been a major force in gradually fomenting discontent against the army's rule once it became obvious that the army was not quite ready to completely cave in to Islamist rule.

Now, the army is seen as oppressors and the chief obstacle to 'democracy' and it's the Brotherhood and the Salafists who are seen as the heroes, and are gathering in the votes.

There's no question in my mind but that Egypt is going the way of Iran. In fact, back months ago when the usual suspects were babbling away about the wonders of the Arab Spring, I predicted it.

The Egyptian military will be faced with the choice of either standing aside and going along with the Islamists in order to try and preserve their perks or making war on their own people.

This is exactly the same choice the Iranian military was forced to make with Khomeini, an dthey made the devil's bargain to stay out of the way and let him and his followers take over.

In later years, historians will be looking at President Obama's encouragement of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamists in the same way way they now see Jimmy Carter's encouragement of the same thing in Iran.

As horrible as the above picture looks, just wait until the Brotherhood and the Salafists are running Egypt.

Occupy Protesters New Tactic - Shut Down West Coast Ports

The OWS protesters are through destroying public parks. Their latest target is ports on the West Coast.

The protests being billed as action against "Wall Street on the waterfront" are perhaps the Occupy movement's most dramatic gesture since police raids sent most remaining camps scattering last month. Demonstrators began forming those camps around the country about two months ago to protest what they call corporate greed and economic inequality.

Kari Koch, organizer with Shut Down the Ports Working Group of Occupy Portland, said by shutting down the port, Wall Street will be unable to create profit.

"We will not stand for corporate profits at the expense of working people, we will not stand for attacks on workers, and we will not allow our schools to be closed, social services slashed, and families to be impoverished by your greed!" Koch said Monday in statement.

Organizers hope to draw thousands to stand in solidarity with longshoremen and port truckers they say are being exploited.

"Taking on and blocking the 1 percent at the port is also taking on the global issue of exploitation by capitalism," said Occupy Oakland blockade organizer Barucha Peller.

The action has already started at the busy ports of Oakland, Los Angeles/Long Beach,and Portland and is expected to extend to other West Coast ports.

The effect this is going to have on small businesses during the holiday season and the people whose jobs depend on them or whose jobs are connected to the ports is obviously not a concern to the OWS crowd...because they gotta make a statement!

There is a silver lining in this cloud, however.

One thing most ports have in abundance is fire hoses, and being that the protesters are so close to the water's edge. Remember, cleanliness is next to G-dliness...and it all drains to the ocean.




Another alternative is treating the OWS gang to a little cruise, perhaps in a nice container or three. I'd recommend China as a destination, since the Chinese are directly affected by the tying up of their exports and would no doubt want to spend a little time re-educating the OWS crowd on why obstructing their exports was not a nice thing to do.

They certainly wouldn't be missed here, and a valuable life lesson awaits.

Of course, if we had real leadership in the White House things might be very different. But of course, we don't.

Occupy LA Is Evicted...And Leaves Behind A Destroyed Park And 30 Tons Of Trash

The Los Angeles City Council, the Mayor and the LAPD finally evicted the squatters from Occupy LA yesterday. It took about 1,400 police, some of them wearing hazmat suits to do it, which meant they weren't on the streets fighting crime or answering radio calls. Almost 300 people were arrested.

The City Hall Park,in downtown Los Angeles used to have grass in the area shown above. It doesn't anymore, even with the rain Los Angeles has had lately and will have to be reseeded at taxpayer expense.

Over 30 tons of trash will have to be removed from the site, and 3,000 gallons of water in what amounts to a small swamp in a catch basin was vacuumed up and tested for hazardous materials.

Sanitation workers, many of them wearing hazmat suits complained about the stench and the vermin present. Many of them described it as a garbage dump, which is exactly what it was.Except garbage dumps are usually better maintained.

The estimated cost to the taxpayers for the cleanup alone is estimated at $500,000. That doesn't account for the costs incurred during their stay, police overtime, use of city facilities, the cost of incarcerating those protesters who refused to leave or the cost of repairs to the park.

Mayor Tony Villaraigosa went public about how proud he was that there was no violence surrounding the eviction of the Occupy protesters. It amazes me that he or anyone else could be proud of anything connected with this sordid affair.

It was the mayor and the majority of the city council who welcomed Occupy LA,passed a resolution applauding what they were doing and allowed them to break the city's laws with impunity. The fact that the mayor and most of the Council are Democrats likely had something to do with that.Particularly in the case of the mayor, who's making noises about running for governor next time out.

After making these vagrants welcome on public owned land at taxpayer expense, they were forced to pull the plug when it became an actual health hazard. And now,the mayor and the council expect the taxpayers of Los Angeles to pay the bill for their party.

You know what? You invited them to stay, you applauded them, you stood by as they created a garbage dump on publicly owned land.

It's your mess. The cost to an already cash strapped city is probably just shy of a million dollars. You pay for it - out of your own pockets.

Wall Street Responds With Leaflet Bomb On Occupy Chicago: "We Are Smarter, More Vicious"

The worm may just be turning. The above is one of a whole slew of leaflets dropped from a Chicago office building on the 'Occupy Chicago' encampment, and it ties in with something I said here back when this started.

Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are.

Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that.

For years teachers and other unionized labor have had us fooled. We were too busy working to notice. Do you really think that we are incapable of teaching 3rd graders and doing landscaping? We’re going to take your cushy jobs with tenure and 4 months off a year and whine just like you that we are so-o-o-o underpaid for building the youth of America. Say goodbye to your overtime and double time and a half. I’ll be hitting grounders to the high school baseball team for $5k extra a summer, thank you very much.

So now that we’re going to be making $85k a year without upside, Joe Mainstreet is going to have his revenge, right? Wrong! Guess what: we’re going to stop buying the new 80k car, we aren’t going to leave the 35 percent tip at our business dinners anymore. No more free rides on our backs. We’re going to landscape our own back yards, wash our cars with a garden hose in our driveways. Our money was your money. You spent it. When our money dries up, so does yours.

The difference is, you lived off of it, we rejoiced in it. The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee might get their way and knock us off the top of the pyramid, but it’s really going to hurt like hell for them when our fat asses land directly on the middle class of America and knock them to the bottom.

We aren’t dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive. The question is, now that Obama & his administration are making Joe Mainstreet our food supply…will he? and will they?”
