Smith college president Kathleen McCartney has learned an important lesson. It's not enough to just be down for the struggle. You must also grovel, as the price for your white privilege.
Smith College has long been known as an outpost of progressive Left wing ideology, and there's no doubt that President McCartney embodies this, holding the position she does. But apparently she made a major error in communicating the dialectic, if you take my meaning.
She sent an e-mail to her entire student body intending to express solidarity with the #Ferguson and Eric Garner protestors. Not that she was exactly going to go and trash business and loot or anything, but she wanted them to know she felt their pain, so to speak. And as she expressed it, “We are united in our insistence that all lives matter,” as she made clear she was strongly behind the rioting protests, writing that the grand jury decisions had “led to a shared fury… We gather in vigil, we raise our voices in protest.”
Whoopsie!
She was literally bombarded by outraged cries of ra-a-aacism from the intended recipients for apparently changing the slogan 'Black Lives Matter' to 'all lives matter.'
She was accused of asserting her white privilege for inferring that whites were entitled to share in the sacred rites of black victimology. How dare she!
The Daily Hampshire Gazette,
which first covered the story, quoted one Smith sophomore, Cecelia Lim,
as saying, “it felt like she was invalidating the experience of black
lives.”
Now, Cecilia is Chinese, but she's obviously has a more direct knowledge of black lives, right? Or at least a better grasp of her place in the universe of victimology. 'Shared rage?' Nah, we own that, whitey. Although we do accept cash, checks and credit cards.
Now, for some educators, this could have been a teachable moment. President McCartney could have risen to the occasion. She could have explained to these self-involved twits that all lives do matter, that no group has a monopoly on morality and to assume so is just another pernicious form of racism. She could have told them that justice and the struggle for justice belong to everyone or it belongs to no one.
But of course, President McCartney didn't do that. She tearfully apologized for her racism and white privilege with all the zeal of an accused bourgeoisie undergoing a 'self-criticism' trial/beat down by Mao's Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. She claimed she had no idea, no idea at all that the phrase 'all lives matter' would be seen as a co-opting of 'black lives matter' and a dead giveaway of her unconscious racism.And of course she said that she was 'committed to working as a white ally, to learning from the lived experiences of people of color, and to acknowledging mistakes.'
It appears her students aren't the only ones whom need educating. Pity about that.
There has been a great deal of anger expressed over an incident that happened at a St.Louis Rams football game. Jared Cook, Kenny Britt, Chris Givens, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin, all of whom are black and play for the Rams decided to express a blatant political view and use the 'Hands Up,Don't Shoot' gesture before their last game with Oakland to express their solidarity with the Ferguson protesters/rioters.
Leaving aside for a moment how bogus the gesture itself is (there is, after all,plenty of evidence that Michael Brown was not standing still with his hands up when policemen Darren Wilson shot him)it's obvious that this was a political statement and an expression of being down with racialist solidarity. It wasn't some kind of of plea for justice,peace and amity, although it's quite possible the five NFL players didn't see that. They simply did it anyway.
When the calls came for the players to be disciplined, both the St. Louis Rams and the NFL refused,citing the players 'First Amendment rights.'
"It's my personal opinion, I firmly believe, that it's important that I keep sports and politics separate," Fisher said. "I'm a head coach. I'm not a politician, an activist or an expert on societal issues, so I'm going to answer questions about the game."
Except of course, by allowing this,the team and the NFL are clearly taking a political stand as well.
Imagine five white players had done the same thing, holding up signs saying 'We support Officer Wilson.' Is anyone naive enough to believe that they wouldn't have been fined and disciplined for exercising their First Amendment Rights? And speaking of which, does anyone remember what the NFL did to Rush Limbaugh when he wanted to use money he earned honestly to buy into an NFL franchise as part of a group of investors? The NFL blackballed him and he was forced to leave the investor group..for exercising his First Amendment rights.
So this nonsense about 'First Amendment Rights' obviously just goes one way.
The way the team and the NFL saw it these five players using the 'Hands Up' gesture was a form of insurance that a significant number of their highly paid hired hands were mollified. And that a significant number people who happen to be of a certain racial background got the message that the NFL was 'down for the struggle', thus insuring that their expensive facilities were spared the sort of damage visited on Ferguson's small business owners.
If a few cops in St. Louis got angry about it, if some fans felt uncomfortable over the display of solidarity for the lawlessness went down in Ferguson, well, who cares? They're not going to riot or cause us grief. So that's the decision they made.
Let's move on to another sort of arena, the U.S. House of Representative. There, several members of congress decided to make the “Hands up, don’t shoot,” gesture on the floor of the House.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) made a ranting speech, saying “In community, after community, after community, fed up with police violence in Ferguson, in Brooklyn, in Cleveland, in Oakland, in cities and counties and rural communities all across America.”
Jeffries added that people are fed up with injustice, a broken criminal justice system and “continuing to see young, unarmed African-American men killed as a result of a gunshot fired by a law enforcement officer.”
"Now this is a problem that Congress can’t run away from and the [Congressional Black Caucus] stands here today to make sure that Congress runs toward the problem,” Jeffries said. “That we come up with constructive solutions to breaking this cycle, this epidemic, this scourge of police violence all across America.”
He was joined by Reps. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Al Green (D-Texas), all of whom had their own fuel for the fire as they made the “Hands up, don’t shoot,” gesture.
That little display is very, very different. It makes me catch-a-fire.Can you see why?
The Rams and the NFL are private businesses. And as such, they are allowed to choose what they support as business decisions, however cynical, amoral and wrong headed.
For those of you whom find that kind of racism(there really is no other word for it) and disrespect for the rule of law abhorrent, you too can make choices. Organize. Don't attend the games and don't watch them on TV. Don't buy their paraphernalia and above all, make sure the team and the NFL know why. A few weeks worth of sharply lowered attendance, TV ratings and sales sends a message that can sometimes encourage businesses to make different choices.
Congress, however is a very different animal.
The salaries of the members of congress who made these racially charged, outlandish statements are paid for by the taxpayers. So are their offices, their staffs, even the very building they meet in to do the people's business that they just soiled.And none of us have a choice about paying for it.
The 'scourge of police violence' Rep. Jeffries? Really? You stand there, in the halls of congress and tell me that a young black man is more likely to be murdered by police than by the sort of thug Michael Brown was well on his way to becoming? You really say that in spite of all the physical evidence showing the Michael Brown was the aggressor and assaulted a police officer, he's still some kind of victim? And that by making that stupid gesture and uttering those inflammatory words, you're in solidarity with the looting and rioting that went on in Ferguson and elsewhere?
Remember this, Congressman Jeffries?
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Do you really think the sort of language you and your friends just made jibes remotely with your oath of office?
It won't happen, but every one of these four members on Congress ought to be censured for making political points by stirring the pot in this fashion. They are encouraging violence and actually sanctioning it.
Two reporters for Pravda-on-the-Hudson (and apparently their editors)thought it would be awfully cute to publish the home address of officer Darren Williams and his wife. They did this in full knowledge of the $5,000 cash bounty radical black groups have placed on Wilson's head, and the $1,000 bounty on any member of his family. They did it in full knowledge of the threats of rape and murder levied against Wilson as well as other police in Ferguson and their families.
New York Times reporters Julie Bosman and Campbell Robertson published the address of Darren Wilson in the New York Times so here are their addresses.

Of course, this isn't remotely equitable. These two genuinely awful people aren't under a threat of death the way Wilson and his wife are. Nor are they going to be forced to sell a home under duress when they're already under considerable stress or be forced to spend the money to move quickly simply to protect their physical safety...which is also going to saddle them with double house payments until they can sell or rent the old one. And that's going to take some time, because who's going to want to move into a house with a target painted on it?
Nevertheless, here are their addresses, so that you can communicate to them directly about your feelings on the matter.
Hopefully the Wilsons can sue the pants off of these people and the foul publication they work for.

As expected, the grand jury refusing to indict Officer Darren Wilson over the shooting death of Michael Brown has led to the expected rioting and looting.
So far, the Family Dollar on Florissant has been cleaned out, as well as a BP and a McDonalds. Lots of rocks, bricks and even some gunshots and molotov cocktails as well.
I doubt it would have mattered whether Officer Wilson was indicted or not. If he had been there would be 'celebration' rioting. There's a certain kind of mentality at work here.
By the way, I also have to express my condolences to Attorney Benjamin Crump.First Trayvon and now this. Poor guy just can't seem to get a payday. And he needs ties that didn't obviously come off the budget rack at Ross's.
President Obama (of course!) had something to say as well. Some stations carried his remarks on a split screen with the rioting and looting on one half and he and his teleprompter on the other. Here's a slice:
"We shouldn't try to paper it over," said Obama. "Whenever we do that the anger may momentarily subside, but over time it builds up. And America isn't everything that it could be. And I am confident that if we focus our attention on the problem and we look at what has happened in communities around the country effectively, then we can make progress not just in Ferguson but in a lot of other cities and communities around the country."
Ah,I see. It's America's fault that Michael Brown got high, committed a strong arm robbery at a convenience store and pulled off a crazy, probably suicidal move like assaulting a cop in a police vehicle and trying to take his gun away from him? Ohhh-kay.
It is ironic to see the president now calling for calm when he and his pal Al Sharpton did so much to gin this up in the first place, but I guess that's just how things went down. Couldn't have had anything to do with the futile attempt to bump up black turnout for the midterms, right?
The prosecuting attorney, St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch has just addressed the media to inform them of the Grand Jury's decision.
They pretty much went along with the facts revealed here and elsewhere.
The prosecuting attorney described the coordination between the St. Louis County investigation and the federal investigation of the Departmwent of Justice, that they shared information and that their conclusions were essentially the same.
H described the theft at the convenience store, said that the evidence showed that Michael Brown was the aggressor, that he attempted to take Officer Darren Wilson's gun inside the vehicle, and that the physical evidence revealed that a lot of the 'eyewitnesses' accounts were simply bogus, and had no relation to that physical evidence. The prosecuting attorney went over some of the fairy tales, and also revealed that a lot of them changed their story once they were confronted with the physical evidence.
All three autopsies were consistent. There were also many witnesses who said that Brown had his hands stretched out ,or clenched into fists and that he was shot as he continued to move towards Officer Wilson after being ordered to stop.
The Grand Jury decision on the Michael Brown shooting is expected this week, and the FBI has issued a statement warning law enforcement nationwide to be prepared, because that the decision “will likely” lead to rioting and attacks on police officers or federal agents.
Actually, I think the decision has been known for some time, which explains the selective leaks. And the FBI is simply signalling that the odds are that Officer Darren Wilson is not going to be indicted. Anyone who has been following the case knows why by now - you simply don't violently attack a police officer, try to take his gun away and start rushing towards him when he's told you to freeze without some heavy consequences.
If Wilson isn't indicted and there is no trial, the Ferguson Police Department will probably force the police chief to fire him, perhaps with a hidden cash buyout as an incentive. That won't stop the expected frolic of looting and rioting, but it will at least remove Wilson as a flashpoint, and probably save his life - especially since groups associated with the protestors have put a bounty of $5,000 on Wilson's life and $1,000 for any family members.
The police aren't the only ones prepared. The Justice for Mike Brown Ferguson protest group has put out a list of targets to attack if they're denied the lynching of Darren Wilson.
The list ( h/t Gateway Pundit) of 'potential action locations' includes both people and buildings, including hospitals, markets ( including the Quick Trip, where Brown committed a strong arm robbery shortly before his confrontation with Officer Wilson), cultural sites like museums and concert halls, malls, utility companies, and corporate headquarters. I've emphasized a few of them:

Many of these people and places have nothing to do with the Mike Brown shooting. Why a mall would be targeted, for instance, I'll leave to your imagination.
And our president? Just like he has during this entire affair, he is encouraging the violence and essentially giving it a seal of approval, whether he meant to or not.
As Al Sharpton told the New York Times, the president met personally with the leaders of the Ferguson protestors in a meeting on November 5th that was not on his schedule and was obviously supposed to be secret, except for the mistake that was made in inviting Sharpton.
These were the same people who made a formal demand of '19 rules of engagement', including calling for the police to avoid riot gear, to tolerate what was termed as 'minor law breaking,' to not use traditional tactics used to curb riots like arresting perceived leaders or whole groups, and to allow safe houses the police were not to be allowed to enter.
The president's message? According to Al Sharpton, he told them to 'stay the course' on the street protests and then added a remark to the effect that he hoped they were taking steps to 'keep the peace.'
Note that he didn't demand they keep the peace no matter what. He simply hoped they would, with the clear implication that if they didn't, well, stuff happens.
I'll give the president the benefit of the doubt, but whether he realized it or not by saying what he did he put the seal of approval on 'acting out' when the verdict is announced.
You doubt that? Than why are the malls and markets being targeted? Because the looting and rioting are being used as a tool.
'Rioting and looting are the tools of those without a voice. The rioting and looting, while I didn't participate in it, was necessary. Without it we would not be standing here today,' Ali said. 'There is no revolution without violence.'
Or without the media putting a few pictures of 'victims' out there.
Our president should be the first to take major steps to turn down the heat and take a firm stance,telling the protestors in no uncertain terms that he demands they keep the peace. He didn't.
A thought occurs to me that if there are massive riots, President Obama might choose that time to announce his executive order on Amnesty for illegal migrants while the country and the medias are distracted.
Over the weekend, members of the Brown family engaged in a violent street brawl over the selling of Mike Brown tee shirts and other merchandise.
Saturday night, October 18th in the parking lot of Red’s BBQ just blocks from where Michael Brown was shot and killed, Brown`s Grandmother, Pearlie Gordon, along with Brown`s Cousin Tony Petty were selling t-shirts and other Michael Brown merchandise.
Apparently that didn't sit well with other members of the Brown family. According to police, a car pulled up with several people in it, allegedly including Brown's mother Lesley McSpadden. A witness described McSpadden yelling ‘You can`t sell this s%$&”, where upon of the relatives who was selling, reportedly demanded McSpadden show a document proving she had a patent.
At that point, someone in McSpadden's party hit Petty in the face with what is described as a metal pole or pipe, a cash box and merchandise worth $1,400 was stolen and the McSpadden party drove off as police were called.
If you'll recall, there were some pretty vicious fights among the members of Trayvon Martin's family over the rights to sell t-shirts and merchandise , but I don't think it ever got physical.
The narrative on the Mike Brown shooting - 'racist white cop shoots unarmed black kid' - continues to unravel, and even the normally compliant media is jumping ship.
Today, no less than the Washington Post revealed that its been doing some digging of its own and revealed it under this headline: 'Evidence supports officer’s account of shooting in Ferguson.'
The story covers the autopsies (neither of which substantially differ from one another),the forensic evidence, and a number of other facts that simply don't match what we were originally told - especially by outlets like the WAPO.
The three opening paragraphs of the story pretty much spell things out...notice what I've emphasized:
Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson and Michael Brown fought for control of the officer’s gun, and Wilson fatally shot the unarmed teenager after he moved toward the officer as they faced off in the street, according to interviews, news accounts and the full report of the St. Louis County autopsy of Brown’s body.
Because Wilson is white and Brown was black, the case has ignited intense debate over how police interact with African American men. But more than a half-dozen unnamed black witnesses have provided testimony to a St. Louis County grand jury that largely supports Wilson’s account of events of Aug. 9, according to several people familiar with the investigation who spoke with The Washington Post.
Some of the physical evidence — including blood spatter analysis, shell casings and ballistics tests — also supports Wilson’s account of the shooting, The Post’s sources said, which cast Brown as an aggressor who threatened the officer’s life. The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are prohibited from publicly discussing the case.
The autopsies also reveals that Brown did indeed try to take Wilson's gun away from him during the struggle in the cab of the police SUV. The autopsy found material “consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm” in a wound on Brown’s thumb. And Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco who reviewed the report for the Post-Dispatch, was quoted by the WAPO as saying the autopsy “supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has gunpowder particulate material in the wound.”
The WAPO didn't use the rest of her quote, where she added, “If he has his hand near the gun when it goes off, he’s going for the officer’s gun.”
Brown’s blood had been reportedly found on Wilson’s gun.
And then there's the lie behind the popular slogan, "hands up don't shoot!"
Brown’s official county autopsy report,which was just published by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch also tell us that it's highly unlikely that Mike Brown had his hands up in surrender when he was shot.
As I reported previously, even an unnamed black witness who referred to the altercation as 'outright murder' who came before the Grand Jury a few days ago admitted that Brown had his hands out at his sides and continued to advance towards Officer Wilson after he was told to halt and get down on the ground, standard police procedure in situations like this. Based on the Post's story, other witnesses saw the same thing.
The WAPO quotes Melinek again saying the autopsy did not support witnesses who said Brown was shot while running away from Wilson, or with his hands up.
Melinek said Brown was facing Wilson when Brown took a shot to the forehead, two shots to the chest and a shot to the upper right arm. The wound to the top of Brown’s head. the fatal one would indicates he was falling forward or in a lunging position toward Officer Wilson.
The sixth shot that hit the forearm traveled from the back of the arm to the inner arm, which means Brown’s palms could not have been facing Wilson, Melinek said. The trajectory of that shot also shows Brown was not taking a standard surrender position with hands up and palms out when he was shot.
The WAPO story tried to balance this out a little with a quote from Victor W. Weedn, chairman of the George Washington University Department of Forensic Science. But even Weedn said that the autopsy reports 'raise doubts' about Brown’s hands being raised at the time of the shooting.
Weedn pointed out that the hands could have been raised and then lowered, but that all the autopsies could show is 'what happened at the time of the shooting.'
Another fact that I surmised from the very beginning that has come out in both autopsies is that Brown had a significant amount of drugs in his system, something the WAPO admits, saying its sources said the levels in Brown’s body may have been high enough to trigger hallucinations.
Or at the very least, put him in a state of mind where fighting a cop,attempting to take his gun away from him and then turning and rushing towards him might have seemed like a good idea at the time.
Needless to say, the Brown family's lawyer Benjamin Crump discounts all of this, saying he doesn't accept the autopsies or the medical examiner, because he has eyewitnesses “ that we know about that say the opposite.”
One of them is undoubtedly Dorian Johnson, who participated in an earlier strong arm robbery of a convenience store with Brown and has changed his story several times. Unfortunately for Crump, Johnson's likely to be problematical because of his own record of credibility problems.
Crump,of course needs to keep things going as much as possible. After getting his behind handed to him in the Trayvon Martin case, he needs a win, and definitely needs whatever fees he can milk out of this sorry situation.
I honestly don't know whether Officer Darren Wilson is going to be indicted. Given the widespread threats from 'the community' of further riots if he isn't, I think there's a good chance he might be. After all, the trial costs are going to come from the taxpayers, and once Wilson is indicted it becomes somebody else's problem if he's acquitted.
But I wouldn't call it justice.
I also don't mind saying that I'm sick and tired of this.
I'm sick and tired of greedy, amoral race pimps like Benjamin Crump, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton making a paycheck out of exploiting these situations and leaving misery in their wake.
I'm sick and tired of this president and his minions throwing gasoline on incidents like this for partisan political purposes and dividing the country even more than it already is.
And the worst thing is, every time this happens, it makes people less interested and willing to believe in in any real abuses that might occur.
The grand jury's determination is past due, with no decision yet on whether to charge police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Mike Brown Ferguson, Missouri, two months ago. The shooting led to extensive riots and looting as well as the involvement of the usual suspects and of course, the Obama Justice Department, what with the midterms coming up and the need for a large black turnout.
The prosecution's star witness if there's a trial appears to be Dorian Johnson, who was with Mike Brown on the day of the shooting and participated in what amounted to Brown's felony strong arm robbery of a convenience store shortly before the shooting occurred.
Johnson's problem is that he's changed his story several times (at one point, he was claiming Officer Wilson stood over Mike Brown after he was on the ground and fired shots into him, something no other witness has even remotely alluded to) and Johnson's own record of making false statements under oath.
The latest witness, who remains unidentified was a black male who testified that Brown had stopped running and was moving back towards Officer Wilson when he was shot. Contrary to what Dorian Johnson and a couple of other witnesses have said, this latest witness denies that Brown had his hands up in surrender, but had them extended from his sides as he moved towards the white policeman..similar to a football rusher.
He also said that there was a scuffle in the car, that Wilson did not fire at Brown until he was coming towards him and that Brown continued to rush towards the policemen in spite of commands to halt. This latest witness also referred to it as 'outright murder' but again, that's a subjective opinion, not evidence.
The autopsies and ballistics confirm that unlike what some witnesses have said, Brown was never shot in the back but was shot in front as he continued to move towards Officer Wilson, who was already badly injured.
This sort of difference in eyewitness accounts is actually very common. I recall a professor who once deliberately staged an altercation in his classroom and then assigned his class to write accounts of what had happened. The differences were astounding.
Sources with knowledge of the grand jury proceedings have also revealed that Officer Wilson has testified in front of them as to what had happened, and it hangs together with his medical records, the autopsies, and the forensic evidence to the point where even Pravda-on-the Hudson wasn't able to spin things too much.
According to the Times the officer reportedly told investigators that he was pinned in his vehicle and in fear for his life as he struggled over his gun with the 300 lb. Brown, who attempted to grab it from him after pushing him back into his squad car and inflicting an orbital fracture and other cuts and contusions on him.
The FBI performed its own forensics tests ( needless to say, AG Holder was pushing for a civil rights indictment) and confirmed the earlier tests performed by county authorities. The gun was fired twice in the car, with the first bullet hitting Brown in the arm and the second bullet discharged wildly inside the cab of the car, evidence that the was indeed a struggle for the weapon.
The fact that Officer Wilson chose to voluntarily appear for four hours before the St. Louis County grand jury also tends to back up his story somewhat, since he wasn't required to testify by law.
The struggle in the car and Wilson being injured by Brown are going to be very influential on what the grand jury does, as I predicted long ago. A police officer who has been assaulted in this fashion usually has a lot more leeway to respond with deadly force, especially when he's been injured and then can show that according to his or her state of mind at the time, there was a reasonable fear of further bodily harm...like a 300 lb. football player coming at you in spite of your orders to halt.
Pravda-on-the Hudson quotes unnamed Justice department officials as saying that while the federal investigation was continuing, the evidence so far didn't support civil rights charges against Officer Wilson. In fact, so far all the evidence on the struggle in the car supports Officer Wilson's version of events. So does the fact that Brown had drugs in his system when he committed the violent strong arm robbery and had the altercation with the police officer. No one in his right mind acts the way Mike Brown acted that day, and the only other explanation - that Officer Darren Wilson was a vicious racist simply looking to kill a black man on the slightest pretext - has no evidence whatsoever based on Wilson's past record.
As we all know, there's a distinct disadvantage in cases of this kind when there are two participants in an incident like this and one of them is dead.
The jury is claiming that they will have a verdict on whether to indict Officer Darren Wilson some time in November. The 'community' is threatening massive riots and disturbances if the grand jury doesn't indict him.
I actually have a feeling they will indict him, regardless of the evidence. After all, they'd be spending taxpayer money on the trial, so it makes no difference to them personally whether Wilson is convicted or not. And of course, they'd be appeasing the black lynch mob in Ferguson and avoiding responsibility for any riots or unrest. Once Wilson is indicted, that becomes someone else's problem.
Dorian Johnson, who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and is considered the prime witness for the prosecution if Officer Darren Williams goes to trial has been charged with theft and with filing a false police report. He had an outstanding warrant for a 2011 theft in Jefferson City Missouri that surfaced and pleaded guilty for filing a false police report related to that theft. The outstanding warrant surfaced when St. Louis ABC affiliate ABC 17 cross referenced Johnson’s name against several records, discovered the warrant and informed the authorities.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the details of the 2011 charges:
Johnson was charged with a misdemeanor after giving police a false first name after he was arrested on suspicion of theft. He later pleaded guilty after he was accused of stealing a package containing a backpack belonging to someone else from an apartment complex. When he was arrested in that case, he identified himself as Derrick Johnson and said he was 16. The warrant was for failing to appear in Jefferson City municipal court to answer to the theft charge..to which will now be added the charge of filing a false police report, a felony in Missouri I believe.Johnson has reportedly pled guilty to that charge as well.
None of this has anything to do directly with the Michael Brown shooting, but it does affect Dorian Johnson's credibility, which has also come under question because of a number of falsehoods he told in his original testimony. His story, repeated ad nauseum via the media was that Brown never reached for Wilson’s gun, never punched the policeman, had his hands up in surrender, was shot in the back and was 'executed' by Officer Williams who stood over him and fired two shots into brown when he was already lying wounded on the ground.
Almost all of this has been debunked by the first two autopsies, by ballistics and by Officer Wilson's medical records, showing his injuries. Brown did indeed punch Officer Wilson, there was a struggle inside the police vehicle for the cop's gun during which at least one shot was fired. The Michael Brown did in fact punch Officer Wilson and inflict severe injury on him, Brown was definitely not shot in the back and the last two shot were fired from two to three feet away from where Officer Wilson was standing while the rest were fired from a further distance away,giving credence to other witness accounts that 6' 4", 292 Pound Michael Brown had charged the policeman rather than having his hands up 'surrendering.'
Since Johnson has also admitted that he was with Michael Brown when he committed robbery and assault at that convenience store, that could also make him an accessory to that crime as well.
Don't be surprised if the prosecution declines to use Dorian Johnson as a witness.
Backgammon, on the surface, is a pretty straight forward game. You roll the dice and move your pieces. But beneath that seeming openness are hidden strategies that may only reveal themselves later.
Today, Eric Holder traveled in person to Ferguson, Missouri, where the Aug. 9 shooting of black teen& Michael Brown by white Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson during an altercation has sparked massive violence, looting, protests and media coverage.
Holder's version of the game was revealed as he made his moves today in Ferguson.Ostensibly he was there to oversee the massive Federal investigation of the Brown shooting with the goal of trying to arraign Officer Darren Williams on civil rights charges should the St. Louis County Grand jury fail to charge him with murder ala' George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case in Florida. But this was essentially a campaign stop at government expense.
Read his remarks here and note the parts I've emphasized:
"I am the Attorney General of the United States, but I am also a black man," Holder told Ferguson residents at a community meeting. "I can remember being stopped on the New Jersey turnpike on two occasions and accused of speeding. Pulled over. ... 'Let me search your car' ... Go through the trunk of my car, look under the seats and all this kind of stuff. I remember how humiliating that was and how angry I was and the impact it had on me."
"The eyes of the nation and the world are watching Ferguson right now," Holder told a group of community leaders assembled at a local community college. "The world is watching because the issues raised by the shooting of Michael Brown predate this incident. This is something that has a history to it, and the history simmers beneath the surface in more communities than just Ferguson."
Let's translate this, shall we?
"See Y'all, I'm black just like you are and that comes first before anything. So I understand your totally justified rage and anger against the white power structure. It's them that are on trial, not just a police officer although he'll do as a symbol of everything you feel whitey and the police have done to you over the years.That white power structure, you know, those white Republican Tea Partyers have always oppressed you,and this is just the latest outrage. I understand that, and that police officer looks just like them so they're going to try to protect him. But since we're in charge, we're going to do our very best to see that you get what you want. Because remember, I'm black and I look like you and so does the president, so you all need to vote Democrat in November to make sure we stay in charge."
It gets even better.
Holder arrived as a local grand jury began hearing evidence to determine whether Wilson should be charged in the fatal shooting.
The Justice Department is conducting a parallel investigation into possible civil rights violations related to the shooting. In an extraordinary move, he also ordered a federal autopsy — the third forensic examination of the body, which was hit at least six times by gunfire.
Before a briefing on the investigation at local FBI headquarters, Holder said the Justice Department had assembled "very experienced" prosecutors and agents to pursue the federal civil rights inquiry.
"Our investigation is different," Holder said in a meeting room surrounded by top local federal officials, including FBI Agent in Charge William Woods and U. S. Attorney Rich Callahan.
"We're looking for possible violations of federal civil rights statutes," the attorney general said.
Holder also met with Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, who is coordinating law enforcement response to the protests. Asked whether he had confidence in the local investigation led by the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, Johnson said: "General Holder, by being here, is a guarantee on that."
Johnson said he understood that the protests that have wracked Ferguson are not just about the shooting of Michael Brown. "The community does not feel there is a connection," he said. "And that has to change."
You thought this was about the law? Hah! It's about community.
Normally, federal investigations for civil rights violations occur after a criminal trial or if a grand jury fails to indict someone and there's reason to believe they were biased and/or didn't look at all the evidence for bigoted reasons.You know, after there appears to be actual evidence someone's civil rights might have been violated.
That's not the way Eric Holder and the Obama Justice Department do things. They don't drag their feet, unless it's in response to congress asking about Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS-Gate, something like that. But AG Holder has hit the ground running, with forty plus FBI agents, a team of federal prosecutors and auxiliary personnel, and even a third autopsy, all of which the taxpayers are footing the bill for..before there's even any evidence that Brown's civil rights might have been violated, or that the state and county investigations and the grand jury are going to quash things. Of course, that's the whole point.
By conducting a high profile investigation like this, Holder is signalling to his audience that the police, the grand jury and the local prosecutor are all racist, but that he and the Justice Department can be depended on to address black grievance and get them the lynching they want. Just imagine if Whitey takes over after November is the implicit message. He's also signalling the same thing to the Grand Jury, putting pressure on them to prove they aren't racist by coming up with an indictment, a murder charge or at least manslaughter for the policeman. Think back - the Attorney General did exactly the same thing in the Trayvon Martin Case, leaning on the Grand Jury to come up with a ridiculous charge because of the politics involved. But the difference was that in the Florida case, Holder was a few months late to the game. George Zimmerman had already been released without being charged and it took Al Sharpton and the New Black Panthers to start the fire.
This one is too important for that. Holder's job here is to play racial politics and to gin up as big a black turnout as he can to try and keep the Senate in Democrat hands, so that the various scandals don't get any worse, gridlock continues for another two years and President Obama's de facto amnesty for illegal aliens continues to be viable without undue interference from the likes of congress.
Holder's mission has absolutely nothing to do with justice, or with law and order. If he was at all concerned about that, he'd at least wait and see what the grand jury comes out with before getting involved.But this is strictly about politics.
Holder's game of blackgammon is all about the politics. And it's going to be emphasized by an organized 'Day of Rage' in Washington DC put on by the New Black Panther Party and a number of their political soul mates.Thanks to Holder's 'separate investigation' even to the extent of getting a third autopsy, it doesn't matter if Darren Wilson isn't charged or if he's charged, tried and gets acquitted, the grievance mongers can still use it to get out the vote. Real justice is blocked, and Holder is setting himself up to win either way.
Backgammon players will recognize the strategy of blocking of the opponent's side of the board and then bumping one of his pieces so it remains stuck and there's no way to bear off (remove from the board) any of his pieces no matter what, unless he rolls a very large double number on the dice. And meanwhile, the other player who's doing the blocking has a number of turns to bear off his pieces or get them in position to do so.
That's exactly what Eric Holder is trying to do, cynically using the black pieces. Blackgammon is a highly appropriate name for it.
Last night, the Missouri National Guard arrived in Ferguson, but they were apparently under orders to keep a low profile rather than actually, you know, stop the looting and rioting. That was left to the hapless police. It's almost sad to listen to the change in tone from Captain Ron Johnson, the black Highway Patrol officer who was brought in to command the security detachment and who lives locally.
He's gone from talking about how he's a part of the community (he lives locally) and saying the protests are oh so righteous to sheer disgust. Johnson said bottles and Molotov cocktails were thrown from the crowd at the police and that some officers had come under heavy gunfire. At least two people were shot and 31 were arrested, while four officers were injured by rocks or bottles.
“It has to stop,” Johnson told CNN.” I don’t want anybody to get hurt. We have to find a way to stop it.”
There is a way to stop it, and quickly, but Democrat Governor Jay Nixon certainly isn't going to authorize it. Instead, the cops and National guard will stay low profile and basically allow the party to continue as long as it's relatively confined - an absolutely horrible and racist decision victimizing the law abiding citizens and property owners of Fergusan
Meanwhile, Captain Johnson advised protestors to vacate the streets before sundown because, as he genteelly put it, there's “a dangerous dynamic in the night.”
Yes, there sure is.
One looter who came out of a QuikTrip told The Washington Post that he was proud of what he was doing.
“I’m proud of us. We deserve this, and this is what’s supposed to happen when there’s injustice in your community,” DeAndre Smith told The Post. “St. Louis ****ing not going to take this anymore.”
Or, as one policemen quoted by the St. Louis Post Dispatch called it “looting tourism.”
“It’s like they are spending their gas money to come down here and steal,” the officer told The Post.
Looting - the new Federal entitlement!
Today, the injuries to Officer Darren Wilson were announced and they back up his version of events. He sustained a fractured orbital socket at the hands of Michael Brown, the 'gentle giant' who struck Wilson, pushed him back into his police SUV and tried to take his weapon. Essentially this means Wilson's eye socket was smashed.The injuries were confirmed by a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police. The sample below gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.
While the feds are conducting their own, independent investigation, the state and county police are presenting all the evidence they have to to a St. Louis County grand jury,which will determine whether Darren Wilson should be indicted.

It will be interesting to see if Wilson is indicted simply for the politics, as George Zimmerman was. If he is, I imagine most of the witnesses who gave police statements favoring the police officer's side of it will recant their statements...community pressure, you know. Even the Pakistani convenience store clerk victimized by Brown in that strong arm robbery that proceeded his interaction with officer Williams reportedly begged reporters to include in their stories that it wasn't him who called police, but a bystander who witnessed it. The jury will also be a factor, which is why if Wilson is indicted, he will probably ask for a change of venue.
Of course if he isn't indicted, expect the feds to arraign him on civil rights charges, which should clue you in on what this is really all about...the Obama Administration using racial politics to try and get as massive a black turnout as possible so that the Democrats can hold the senate.
Michael Brown's life or death means absolutely nothing to the Obama regime, except as a tool. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
The initial reported of the finding of the first autopsy on Michael Brown have been released. Brown was shot in an altercation with a white police officer in the mostly black community of Ferguson, Missouri. His death sparked days of violent riots and looting. The original narrative was that Brown's death was the murder of an unarmed black teen who had already surrendered to police, a 'state execution' in the words of Al Sharpton, who was quick to come to Ferguson and fan the flames.
Subsequent revelations show that the hulking 6' 4" 292 lb Ferguson had just completed the violent robbery of a convenience store. He then walked with a friend down the middle of a main street in Ferguson and was obstructing traffic when he got into a violent altercation with a policeman which including Brown's hitting the officer, shoving him back into the police SUV cab and attempting to wrestle his gun away.
This wasn't at all difficult, but my theory behind all this was that Michael Brown was high on drugs and/or alcohol since nothing else would account for this kind of behavior,and it turns out that I was right.
The results of the first autopsy, by Mary Case, the St. Louis County medical examiner have been released, and they're fairly illuminating.
First, Michael Brown had substantial amounts of marijuana in his system. He was definitely not in his right mind. The theft of a $50 box of cigars from the convenience store was also a tip off, since cigars, especially sweet ones are a prime ingredient in making 'blunts'. That's why they wanted them.
Second, it appears that ballistics confirms reports that Brown, rather than 'surrendering' taunted Officer Darren Wilson that he was never going to arrest him and then rushed full speed at the officer.
Brown had between six and eight gunshot wounds and was shot from the front, In addition, several of the hits were in Brown's arms or to areas of his body, with only the final two being head shots. In addition, the non-lethal shots were the ones first fired, and when Brown was further away. The lethal head shots were fired later when Brown was only two or three feet away from Officer Wilson.
That probably explains, by the way, why so many shots were fired. Police officers are trained shooters. If Brown rushed the police officer, who was a six year veteran, Officer Wilson might very likely have been trying to bring Brown down without killing him. Because Brown was huge and because of what he had coursing through his system, the shots were likely ineffective and Wilson, who had already been injured went for the head shots as a last resort. There's also the possibility that one of the gunshot wounds was sustained after Brown pushed the policeman back into his SUV and tried to take his weapon from him.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has been unable to stop the violence in Ferguson, Missouri. Governor Jay Nixon has called in the state National Guard in an attempt to maintain order.
"Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard ... in restoring peace and order to this community," Gov. Jay Nixon said in a statement.
Nixon issued the order early Monday after what began as protests over the shooting of Michael Brown by a policeman spiraled into violence and two civilians were shot and wounded. Rioters hurled Molotov cocktails at police, and several businesses were vandalized or looted
Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson said the civilians were not shot by the police.
Johnson, who is black and lives in the area was put in command of the Highway Patrol units in Ferguson. It was obviously a gesture to get the largely white Ferguson police out of the picture. Although initially he was speaking about his solidarity with crowd, after a couple of days he seems to have a different opinion.
“Peace and justice took a very different turn after dark,” Johnson said. “Molotov cocktails were thrown, there were shootings, looting, vandalism and other acts of violence that clearly appear not to have been spontaneous, but premeditated criminal acts.”
Johnson said this had nothing to do with civil disobedience, but was designed to damage property, hurt people and get police to respond.
“The situation first started to deteriorate with the shooting of a civilian on W. Florissant and Ferguson Avenues at approximately 8:25 p.m.,” he said.
Police responded to West Florissant and Ferguson and got the shooting victim to safety, but then the violence ramped up and police became the target.
“That was followed by shots being fired on officers, a number of Molotov cocktails being thrown, and then the looting,” Johnson said.
Four businesses, including Dominos and Family Dollar, were ransacked and looted, followed by a number of shootings. There was a report of at least one more person down that was followed by rioters moving on the location of the police command center. Johnson said at that point, the crowd started throwing Molotov cocktails at them and they opened up with tear gas.
Officers fired tear gas into hundreds of protesters, including children, who were marching toward a police command post in defiance of the midnight curfew.The local CNN affiliate KSDK-TV ran video that showed children among the crowd chanting, "Hands up, don't shoot."
What kind of people bring kids to a riot?
In a local McDonald's, the patrons were forced to run into the storage room with the employees and lock themselves in as the restaurant was looted and vandalized.
Even Governor Nixon, a Democrat who depends on Missouri's black vote appears to have become fed up with this situation. Originally supportive of the protesters, the governor called out the National Guard without bothering to inform the White House or the Justice Department, which has shown a keen interest in the case for obvious reasons.
There is of course a way to end the violence and looting It's pretty much the opposite of what law enforcement in Ferguson and the vicinity have been doing thus far, but it remains to be seen whether Governor Nixon is willing to do what's necessary. The alternative, of course is to simply to continue to try and contain the violence and let the burning and looting continue until most of the prime targets have already been hit.
As usual, it will be the people in the community with a stake in it-a job, business or a home - that suffer most.
Some new information has surfaced on the Michael Brown shooting by a police officer that has led to several days of looting and rioting, and of course, the descent of Al Sharpton and the rest of the OBGI (Official Black Grievance Industry).
The pictures above are screen caps from a CCTV video located in a convenience store that appears to be the Ferguson Market & Liquor store on West Florissant Avenue. According to Dorian Johnson, Michael Brown's friend who was accompanying him, the two stepped into the market, Brown picked up a box of Swisher Sweets cigars (valued at $48.99), refused to pay for them and when the lone employee of the store tried to stop him from leaving, Brown physically assaulted him.
As you can see, Brown, at 6' 4" and 292 pounds towers over the much smaller clerk, who appears to be Asian. The video reportedly shows Brown grabbing the store employee by his shirt, throwing him into a display case and turning to glare and intimidate the clerk before stomping off with his friend.Johnson has admitted that Brown took the cigars.
This, by the way is not mere shoplifting. It is classified as theft and assault, a strong arm robbery and a felony bust. It is also worth reflecting that this kind of behavior doesn't come out of a vacuum, but is typical of a certain mentality, someone who has done this sort of thing before, someone used to using his size and bulk to intimidate others and get what he wants.
This is a very different person than Al Sharpton's characterization of Brown as a 'gentle giant'.
According to the police report and numerous eyewitnesses including Dorian Johnson, Brown and Johnson were walking down the middle of the street obstructing traffic which is why they were stopped by Officer Darren Wilson. An altercation occurred and apparently Brown pushed Officer Wilson back into his squad car, where the two had a struggle for the policeman's weapon, and a shot was fired inside the police car.. The altercation apparently involved Brown striking Wilson,because according to the police Wilson sustained facial injuries.
Let's stop the narrative here for a moment. Here we have a very large and aggressive young man who has committed a strong arm robbery, slapped the clerk around and shoved him into a display case,is walking down the middle of a moderately crowded street and disrupting traffic rather than on the sidewalk, and then engages in cop fighting.
If this is accurate, (and it seems to be so far)That kind of behavior suggests something to me...a person who was impaired by drugs and/or alcohol. These are not the kind of actions taken by someone in full control of himself.
A toxicology report is being done on Michael Brown, and we'll know the results in a few weeks..maybe. A similar report was done on Trayvon Martin in the famous Florida case. It was never overly publicized, but it showed significant amounts of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana in his blood and urine. Pot, especially when combined with other substances can definitely make a person overly aggressive and confident and affect judgment. The autopsy report also revealed moderate beginning signs of brain damage and mild liver damage associated with prolonged use of DXM. DXM, known as 'lean' among other street names is a very potent mixture of cough syrup, juice or soda, and candy (Watermelon Juice, Skittles, and Robitussin for example).
We'll find out if Michael Brown was similarly impaired, but here's a another clue as to what might have happened. Here's a video taken minutes after Brown was shot that was designed to be supportive of the narrative that Brown was shot for no reason...but if you look at the witness conversation that appears to be inadvertently recorded at about 6:28 - 6:29 of the video, the witness states that Brown turned around and charged the officer rather than putting his hands up in surrender(warning, NSFW language).
And if you look at the direction Michael Brown's body is laying pointing towards the police SUV rather than away from it, it makes sense. Here's a transcript

There's another snippet of background conversation from a witness starting around 8:41 or so that also says "he ran back towards him".
Finally, look again at Brown's behavior in the convenience store. He does something similar there turning back towards the clerk and advancing towards him to intimidate him. Will any witnesses 'from the community' whom saw what happened testify that Brown charged the officer if that's what happened? I'm not at all sure of that, but ballistics and forensic evidence may tell us the truth.
Meanwhile in Ferguson the rioting and looting continues. And so does the agitating, courtesy of Al Sharpton and the New Black Panther Party.Governor Jay Nixon (D) attempted to calm things down by essentially ordering the County police and the Ferguson police to stand down and putting the highway patrol in charge of security, with Capt. Ronald Johnson, a black man who lives in the neighborhood in command. He also called for a midnight to 5 AM curfew.
The reaction to the curfew was, essentially, this:
Captain Johnson, who made a point of mingling with the crowd and dissing the local cops has apparently changed his tune, calling the police response “proper” and saying he was “disappointed” in the actions of the 'demonstrators'.
As always with these things, it's always the people with a stake in the community - a job, a business, a home - who do the least rioting and who suffer them most:
Natasha Cornell, 42, who lives two blocks from the scene, said she is furious.
“Half of these protestors are not even from this area,” she said. “We don’t have too many stores to go to anymore because they burned it all up. My 20-year-old son ran all the way home from work. He was terrified. It’s not a race issue at this point, people just want to vent and loot.”
Exactly.
Two things I wan to mention in passing. A lot of people on the Left of the spectrum, especially certain black commentators have mentioned a lot about the 'militarization of the police' and how awful it is. Not one of them have dared to mention that it was President Obama that was responsible for this. It was President Obama who called for a 'domestic security force., just as well trained, just as well funded, just well armed as our military. Remember that?
And it is the Obama Administration that has sold these local police departments military gear, MRAPs and combat arms by the boatload, as well as establishing SWAT combat teams for over 70 federal agencies. This is what the people on the Left who are squawking about 'militarized police' voted for twice. It's too much to expect I know, but it would be nice if they admitted what a horrific mistake they made.
The second thing is President Obama and the Justice Department's involvement from day one. The president has weighed in several times on this, saying what a tragedy Michael Brown's death was, the Justice Department started out by monitoring the investigation by local and state law enforcement and are now conducting their own investigation, trolling for a civil rights violation. Attorney General Holder has even asked for the feds to conduct their own independent autopsy, the third one.
Now, just the day before Michael Brown was killed, Rabbi Yosef Raksin(HY"D) of Crown Heights was murdered Shabbat morning (13th of Av) on his way to the Beis Menachem Chabad Shul of North Miami Beach for services. This was in an area that has had Jewish synagogues and property vandalized in a racist manner, the description from witnesses identified the killers as two black males, and Rabbi Raksin was dressed in a manner that obviously identified him as a Jew. Yet the local authorities are refusing to call this a hate crime, even though the Rabbi was obviously targeted because he was a Jew.
The president has not deemed this worthy of comment, let alone our attorney general and the media has not mentioned it at all.
I wonder...would this change if Jews began rioting,burning and looting, and if loud mouth agitators like Al Sharpton were leading Jews in chants of 'no justice,no peace'? Would Rabbi Raksin's murder become newsworthy?
Or is race a factor? It seems like it, when a white police officer being accused with very little evidence of murdering a black man on the one hand merits presidential comment, federal attention,FBI investigation and massive media coverage while a murdered Jew apparently killed by two black males is simply no big deal.
