Forum: Do You Favor Deportation Of Illegal Migrants?

Every week on Monday morning , the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher's Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week's question: Do You Favor Deportation Of Illegal Migrants?

Bookworm Room : I strongly support deportation -- and I do not believe that it will require the government hunting down and deporting every single illegal alien in the country. Just as illegal aliens self-deported when the economy sank in 2008, illegal aliens will self-deport if (a) we stop giving them endless benefits and (b) they know there's a reasonable risk that they will be bundled across the border post haste, taking their children with them. (Clearly, I do not believe that the 14th amendment, which was intended to give citizenship to the descendants of slaves who were forcibly imported into this country, applies to people who violate the law in order to be in this country in time to give birth.)

And speaking of children and the inevitable Leftist cry that "deportation hurts the children," there will always be children who, sadly, suffer because of their parents' decisions. At some point, one simply has to say "enough," and embark upon a policy that prevents people from unilaterally deciding that they have a right to bring themselves and their extended families illegally into America. A strong border and sane immigration policy is also for the children.

A nation has the right to defend its borders. It also has the right to pass laws that control who comes in -- even if people subsequently determine that those weren't the best or smartest laws. If we get control over our borders and realize that "Hey, the Chamber of Commerce was right that we need more super cheap labor to drive down wages for other Americans and to drive blacks out of the market (bad things) -- all in the service of making consumer goods cheaper (good thing)," then we should pass laws accordingly. Our laws should not be decided by people who have no legal right to be here in the first place.

Puma By Design : Deport them ALL. The streets of New York City would be a lot more peaceful and safer if illegal immigrants were deported. Adding to that, the prisons would be emptier.

It is a long-standing joke here in NYC that even at a time, back in the day when illegal immigrants were being deported, it meant very little.

There are those who simply walk across the U.S. Mexico border while others cross the Canadian/U.S. border. Simple as that.

About fifteen years ago, a former neighbor and friend, may she rest in peace, an American became involved with a Jamaican fellow who did a year’s stint at Riker’s Island for the illegal possession of a firearm.

Upon the end of his sentence, he was deported, say on a Monday and standing back in my neighbor’s living room the following Friday afternoon.

As far as living standards, they bring their bad habits with them. In residential buildings across NYC, there are fifteen to twenty family members or friends living in a one or two bedroom apartment.

In private homes, often rented out, it is far worse. I recall stepping out one morning to go to work and seeing a plastic bag full of garbage nailed to a tree. WHO DOES THAT?

How does on invest in a house but not a trashcan? Some of the long time homeowners in our area are fighting with their new neighbors who popped up overnight not to throw their garbage on the sidewalk or in the service road, which they never do during the day. Now THAT would imply that they know better, wouldn't it?

Moving on, we are all aware that illegal immigrants come to country, get an education and all sorts of entitlements, among them food stamps or whatever it is they get today on our dime.

Throughout large immigration (legal and illegal) communities in NYC, there are these storefront shipping businesses.

Immigrants, many illegal, use their government entitlements to purchase everything from clothes to appliances of ALL sizes. The items are stored in huge bins to be shipped back to the individual's family and friends in their native countries which can be purchased at supermarkets and 99-cent stores that cater to that community.

Immigrants illegal and otherwise who are collecting food stamps purchase perishables, stock the bins with their purchases and again, ship the items back overseas to their families. The worst part is that no one bats an eye.

I only learned of this when my cab driver, a legal immigrant from Guyana complained about it to me one day. Many, legal immigrants who work for a living complain but it never goes further than lip service. Probably because for every person of family who immigrates to the United States legally, at least a dozen, two dozen and more family members follow behind crossing the border illegally.

JoshuaPundit : Why no! Let's simply allow more and more illegal migrants in until they finish replicating the corrupt, lawless hellholes they left here right in America!

It's very important to understand that simply deporting 20 million people or so (that 11 million figure is so 1990's) is only a start and not a remedy in itself. Thanks largely to Ted Kennedy, (please see my obituary of him dated 2009) there is a large legal infrastructure, well funded organizations and a political elite dedicated to exactly what I proposed in the above paragraph. It will be a war to the knife with people like the Democrat Party and La Raza leading the charge, That's something I don't think Donald Trump understands fully after reading his immigration plan in full

A fence is a fence, but what is really going to be ultimately involved to cut to the roots of the problem is entirely new laws by which we both make it less tenable for illegal aliens to come here and determine more precisely whom American will extend the privilege of legal migration to. And ideally, these laws will also include a retroactive principal of at least a decade to reexamine who has been allowed to migrate legally as 'refugees' using diversity visas and phony asylum claims. That's unfortunately necessary because of the Obama Administration's open and long term  advocacy for illegal migrants, winking at 'refugee's like the Tsaernovs of Boston Marathon fame and serial failure to enforce existing laws.

Immigration worked quite well for America when the applicants were well screened, when there was no extensive welfare state, when the culture of much of the migrants was compatible with our own, and when a certain degree of assimilation was a given.

The Glittering Eye : Yes. However, I think we'll get more bang for the buck with serious workplace enforcement than we will by building a higher or wider or more closely guarded wall. Nowadays quite a few of our illegal immigrants entered the country legally with tourist or student visas and just stayed. A wall across the southern border will do nothing about those.

  Well, there you have it.

The Council Has Spoken!! Our Watcher's Council Results

http://www.crystalinks.com/IroquoisGathering.jpg

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast, and the results are in for this week's Watcher's Council match up.

"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well." - Booker T. Washington

"We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community." - Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia

“Bad schools, crime, drugs, high taxes, the social security mess, racism, the health care ? crisis? unemployment, welfare state dependency, illegitimacy, the gap between rich and poor. What do these issues have in common? Politicians, the media, and our so-called "leaders" lie to us about them. They lie about the cause. They lie about the effect. They lie about the solutions.”
- Larry Elder

This week's winning essay,Puma By Design's Black Lives Matter Hypocrites Oblivious to Epidemic of Black Violence, Genocide is a forceful eloquent takedown of the hypocrisy of the #Black Lives Matter movement. Here's a slice:

Last Wednesday night, after returning from a birthday party, Jamyla Bolden, was sitting on her mother’s bed doing her homework when someone walked up to their house and fired five shots into the home killing 9 year old Jamyla and hitting her mother, Kendric Henderson, in the leg.

St. Louis Dispatch
:

They also believe the shooter stood close to the front of the house and took aim through the bedroom window. There were five visible bullet holes on the exterior of the house: three in the screens of two windows with shattered glass behind them, and two more in the house’s aluminum siding….

‘When I turned her over I could see the blood coming out of her nose, but I didn’t know where she was shot at. I kept saying ‘I think she’s been shot, call 911,’ Henderson said.

Grieving the loss of a friend, one of Jamyla’s fourth grade classmates asked, “Why did she have to die.”

Where is the outrage?

Where is the Black Lives Matter movement?

HELLO? I CAN’T HEAR YOU, fake Black guy, Shaun King, DeRay McKesson, leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement!

Nothing, just CRICKETS.

The night after Jamyla’s ten-year-old brother witnessed the death of his sister; more than 150 people lead by Black Lives Matter took to the streets of Ferguson to protest the death of an armed black teenager shot and killed by two officers last Wednesday.

According to police reports, just two police officers were preparing to serve a warrant, two black teenagers, armed and in possession of crack cocaine made a run for it out the back door of the home.

The officers pursued the teens and after being ordered to stop, 18-year-old Mansur Ball-Bey (above) refused to drop his gun when ordered to do so, may have even pointed the firearm at the officers and it was a wrap.

NYDN

Ball-Bey was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene while the second suspect, only identified as being in his mid to late teens, managed to escape, police said.

Police say they found a stolen gun and an extended magazine in Ball-Bey’s possession and that four guns and an unspecified quantity of crack cocaine were recovered at the scene. Several others inside the home were taken into custody without incident….

As usual, Ball-Bey’s death presented opportunity for those with a nefarious agenda and instantly became the next battle cry from Black Lives Matter to create abut chaos, riot, tear and burn down that, which has not yet been rebuilt after they incited last year’s riots that all but destroyed the city of Ferguson, Missouri.

There are elements in the Black community who will white wash an individual fundamentally transforming a thug into a martyr but depending on whom one asks, it has yet to be determined whether or Ball-Bey fits the bill.

According to Ball-Bey’s family, he was a good kid but the following video in which Ball-Bey, a gangster rapper, consorted with gang bangers, possessed guns and bought into the gangster mentality might imply otherwise. (Warning: Raw language)

Our Weasel Of The Week!

Yes, once again, It's time to present this week's statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week's nominees were particularly slimy and despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner...the envelope please...

NFL Hall Of Famer And Criminal Behavior Adviser Cris Carter!

Puma By Design : My WOTW nomination this week goes to NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter for remarks made during a 2014 speech t the NFL Rookie Symposium. Carter along with Warren Sapp imparted a little friendly advice to rookies on how "to get around" getting in trouble.

“Y’all not gonna all do the right stuff. I gotta teach yall how to get around all this stuff too. If you gonna have a crew, one of them fools got to know he going to jail...I let my own boys know … y'all want to keep rolling like this, Then I need to know who's going to be the fall guy, who's going to be driving. Y'all not going to do all the right stuff now. I got to teach y'all how to get around all this stuff."

Beating the message like a drum, Carter repeats “find a fall guy” “fool” Translation: Sucker.

One year later, the cat is out of the bag and the NFL in a statement is distancing itself from Carter’s remarks:

“This was an unfortunate and inappropriate comment made by Cris Carter during the 2014 NFC rookie symposium," the NFL said. "The comment was not representative of the message of the symposium or any other league program. The league's player engagement staff immediately expressed concern about the comment to Cris. The comment was not repeated in the 2014 AFC session or this year's symposium."

“Unfortunate” “inappropriate” “not representative of the message or the symposium.” Whom are they kidding? At a time when NFL players are getting into trouble for everything from drugs to rape to domestic violence to murder, Carter’s advice speaks volume as to the mentality of the NFL, from the top down to the players.

NFL players are a commodity and their brand must be protected at all costs so instead of demanding that the players straighten up and fly right, they tell them not to get caught and if it gets too hot in the kitchen, to find a fall guy amongst their leeches.

On Sunday, Carter walked his advice back to rookies on twitter (@criscarter80):

“Seeing that video has made me realize how wrong I was. I was brought there to educate young people and instead I gave them very bad advice. Every person should take responsibility for his own actions. I’m sorry and I truly regret what I said that day.”

Getting caught out there dead to right tends to have that effect.

Remember when athletes we3re actually admired and held up to young people as role models and examples of good character? Of course, even back then a lot of stuff went on behind the scenes, but they were careful to take steps to keep it that way and were very conscious that young America's eyes were on them.

Today, many of them could simply care less. But that's part of what being a weasel is all about. Here's a little something for your trophy room, Cris..

 Well, there it is.

Check back next Tuesday to see who next week's nominees for Weasel of the Week are!

Our Weasel Of The Week Nominees!

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg

It's time once again for the Watcher's Council's 'Weasel Of The Week' nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

Here are this weeks' nominees....

President Obama's EPA!

The Noisy Room : My weasel of the week nomination is the EPA once again. Five months ago at an old Georgia cotton mill, the EPA had another backhoe oopsie, just as they did recently concerning a Colorado gold mine. But the press didn’t pick it up at all. The EPA, while grading the site, struck a water main that contained sediment flows that carry dangerous mercury, lead, arsenic and chromium downstream to Lake Oconee and then to the Oconee River — home to many federally and state protected species. Lead in the soil at the project site is 20,000 times higher than federal levels established for drinking water. The EPA at first lied about having anything to do with the site and then five months later admitted involvement. They claimed they were conducting environmental justice and intended to build low income housing. The EPA issued a grant in 2005 to turn the mill and surrounding grounds into a housing complex for the mentally ill, homeless and indigent. Contractors working with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GEPD) have started digging and tearing down the buildings — despite objections by the city of Greensboro and the absence of a plan to deal with the hazardous waste. They just don’t give a crap if those they move in there get sick and die. Progressive justice in play.

The EPA has not responded to questions concerning this project. The agency has offered conflicting statements about its involvement in the project, alternating between knowing nothing, providing only data and guidance, and acknowledging that it funded cleanup and development at the site through a grant to the state. In other words, they have been lying and covering their butts on this one. Wonder how much they paid the media to stay away? The EPA pointed to a bogus study in 2010 that showed low contamination. However, microbiologist Dave Lewis took his own samples and said he was staggered by them. Per Watchdog.org: “The EPA’s website says Brownfield’s projects are part of the agency’s mandate “to make environmental justice an integral part of every program, policy and activity by…. Applying EPA’s regulatory tools to protect vulnerable communities.”” What a horrific joke. They are just barely cleaning up the site and then slapping a development on it. Wonder if they will stick refugees or illegal aliens there? They obviously don’t give a rip about the mentally ill – I guess they figure no one will notice as they get sicker and die. Somewhere in all this the EPA is making money… getting funds from the government for doing this evil deed. Calling Erin Brockovich… she can deliver the golden weasel award to the EPA.

Forum: Will Hillary Clinton Still Be The Democrat Nominee?

Every week on Monday morning , the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher's Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week's question: Will Hillary Clinton Still Be The Democrat Nominee?

Don Surber : No. She is Pig Pen in the Peanuts comic strip of politics. Everywhere she goes, dirt. Dirt and flies. The Democrats may float Mike Dukakis name next.

The Razor : I hope so but I suspect she won’t be. It would be a Democrat’s worst nightmare if she prevailed through this mess and faced a competent Republican candidate. Of course that last part assumes a lot right now from the Stupid Party. But I’m getting that uncomfortable feeling I get when I watch a comedian bombing on stage, or when I pass an accident on the road and struggle not to look. Her candidacy is looking increasingly like a slow-motion train wreck, and I’m simply amazed at how arrogant, narcissistic and just plain stupid she is. Were all the smart people Bill’s friends?
I honestly hope that by Election Day 2016 she’ll be in jail. She clearly deserves it.

The Independent Sentinel : She will either be a candidate or indicted. That's the USA today!

Since I don't think the FBI will do anything substantive, she will be the candidate.

It's the GOPs election to lose and lose they might very well do so.

JoshuaPundit : I think it depends on several factors, some of which I went over here.

The dislike between the Obamas and the  Clintons is palpable and personal. But beyond that, Obama considers the Clintons - believe it or not - too conservative to lead the ulta-Left prog fascist party he envisions having significant influence over even after he's out of the White House. And much of the base agrees with him, egged on by the Soros media machine.

So here's the first basic thing to consider. The FBI and the Inspector Generals work for Barack Obama, and if he didn't want this e-mail controversy to surface and continue to fester, it wouldn't have. So the first question is how far he's willing and able to take this...far enough to knock Mrs. Clinton out of the box for the nomination but not far enough to where she feels threatened enough to have her lawyer call up someone like Benghazi chairman Trey Gowdy  and other committee heads and start talking deal in exchange for immunity and her testimony on certain matters  the Obama regime would rather weren't made public. Mrs. Clinton is not without weapons of her own. This could end with a fine and a temporary rescinding of her security clearance, as it did with the Clinton's creature Sandy Burger.

The second thing to consider is the nature of the Democrat field. Mrs. Clinton has raised more money than all the others combined. She also has the best organization, including Clintonistas scattered throughout the media. After which she can say "I made an honest mistake and I paid for it. Now let's talk about amnesty and reparations and the fact I'm a woman!"

While Socialist Bernie Sanders has been making some noise, he is still a Jew by birth, if a radical,  irreligious and anti-Israel one, Most blacks, Hispanics and Muslims will not vote for him and they're an important, vital part of the Democrat coalition. After the New Hampshire primary, which along with Iowa is composed of most white voters, I expect him to fade. There's no one else at this time, not really.

The recent meeting of Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren is of interest, but we'll know soon if there are any burning embers among the smoke. For Slo-Jo to make a real run of it, he would almost certainly have to announce the first week or so of September.

GrEaT sAtAn"S gIrLfRiEnD : HRC as the Democrat candidate? Looking kinda iffy! It's one thing to blow off Congress cats and bothersome reporters about her E Mailgate. Quite another to diss the FBI (even if the FBI is doing their very first ever Non Criminal Investigation all about HRC's server chiz).

Yet way more important is 44's role in all this. And it looks like 44 is driving it too. Days ago 42 meet and golfed with 44 and you can be sure two things that came up: Attorney General Lynch and Vice President Biden.

Now we learn VP Biden has been hooking up with Senator Elizabeth Warren!

As the radio cat with half his brain tied behind his back says :

"The Hillary thing, I think it's personal with the Clintons and the Obamas. I don't think it goes any deeper. It may, but it's personal. "

"Look, folks, these are the things that you think go in one ear and out the other. But when Bill Clinton in South Carolina is sitting there at a cafe talking to a buddy of his after they've thrown the race card down on the guy and Clinton is saying -- I forget who he said this to, and it's a prominent name, might have been Ted Kennedy. It was Ted Kennedy. He was sitting there having a drink with Ted Kennedy and Obama's on TV or walking by, and Clinton said (doing impression), "You know, Ted, wasn't that long ago, a guy like this would be getting us our coffee." Well, that's the kind of thing Obama never forgets, particularly that. That was Clinton calling Obama, I mean, that was Clinton talking about slavery, dare we say. "

"Obama's an African-American, coffee, what, he'd be servant? Obama doesn't forget that stuff. And some of the stuff that happened during that campaign, Hillary and Bill, I think this is personal with them. Well, then why did he make her secretary of state? It's a pretty brilliant move. It looks like she's pretty incompetent, right? And she's got all these problems now that he probably helped create. I mean, he's done his best to discredit her, and her coronation is now off the rails yet again, thanks to him. The old saw about keeping your friends close, your enemies closer. "

Get your “Riding With Biden” paraphernalia now!

Puma By Design :Straight Answer: Nope!

The Obamas despise the Clintons and does not want them entering as they exit the White House.

Oh sure, the Barry gave the Clintons his blessing but he was just but he was merely paying a debt from the 2008 presidential campaign. Debt repaid with the left hand, screwing Clinton with the right.

As for who then? Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren.

The powers that be are aware that Clinton will kick, scream and claw her way to becoming the left’s chosen candidate. I believe there is an urgency by some (Obama) to take her down hard once and for all.

Enter Joe Biden who must first collaborate with Elizabeth Warren so that when Hillary throws the gender card out there, Warren will run interference keeping feminists in check.

If Joe Biden fails, enter Elizabeth Warren. The plan may have been the plan all along to get the left so sick of Hillary that they would be thankful for Warren who as far as I can see is the only thing worse for America than Hillary or Bernie Sanders.

The Glittering Eye: Unless she's actually serving time somewhere, Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee. The Democrats and the Republicans have traded places. This cycle the Democrats want to fall in line and the Republicans want to fall in love.

The progressive wing of the Democratic Party (a third to half of the party) knows where its heart is: Bernie Sanders. If he were a black woman he'd be perfect. Despite where their collective heart leads, they'll still vote for Hillary. She also has the solid support of the black caucus. That's enough to secure the nomination.

The Republicans, on the other hand, are looking for love (in all the wrong places). That's why no one other than The Donald can get any traction. Well, that and the 24/7 press coverage he's receiving.

The Right Planet : Well, I really hate making predictions. But it's long been reported that there is some bad blood between the Obama's and the Clinton's. So, I would not be surprised if the Obama Administration is firing torpedoes at the U.S.S.S. (United States Socialist Ship) Hillary Clinton. And if that's the case, it must mean that there is something far worse than Hillary (if that's possible) waiting in the wings. I just read that VP Biden had a meeting with Fauxchahontas (Elizabeth Warren). And Socialist Sanders is giving Comrade Hillary a run for her Clinton Cash. So there's a damn good chance Hillary might not be the presidential candidate for the Democrats. But, what difference, at this point, does it make?

Nice Deb : I've been saying since March that it isn't going to be Hillary. The Regime's preferred candidate is Liz Warren, but the surest pathway to the White House for her through Biden. Biden has the name recognition and stature needed to win the presidential election in 2016 with Warren as his running mate. One term of Biden and the next two Warren. That's the plan. That's what we have to look forward to.

At least that's what the French are saying about two Americans on a French train who took out an armed jihadi who was in the process of shooting it up:

A gunman opened fire aboard a high-speed train from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday, wounding at least three people before two American passengers subdued him, French officials said.

The Americans were not immediately identified, but France’s interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, said they “were particularly courageous and showed great bravery in very difficult circumstances.’’

Capt. Jeff Davis, a Defense Department spokesman in Washington, said that an American military member was on the train and had been wounded in the episode. He said Pentagon officials had not yet confirmed the name or rank or service, or whether the second American also was a service member.

The jihadi, whom the New York times referred to below the fold as "described by French officials as a 26-year-old of Moroccan origin armed with an automatic weapon and a knife" began shooting up the the Amsterdam to Paris express in the northern French city of Arras, which may ring some bells for veterans of two World Wars. Their blood is part of that soil.

The two Americans didn't hesitate for a second. They jumped the armed jihadi with their bare hands, subdued him and held him until the French authorities arrived to collect him. If not for them, the casualty list would have been far higher.

It is a mark of our times that this story of American heroism is relegated to the back pages of Pravda-on-the-Hudson rather than meriting a front page spot. Frankly, I'm surprised they published it at all.

In France, it's headlines.

UPDATE: According to CNN and the Daily Mail, the two Americans were members of the U.S. Marines. They rushed the jihadi when they recognized the sound of him loading his Kalashnikov rifle. One of them was wounded subduing the gunman.

French authorities found 9 magazines of ammo on the train, holding almost 300 rounds. The jihadi also had a knife and a handgun. The train had 550 passengers on board, and there's no doubt that if it were not for these two Marines, a massacre would have occurred.

Correction and UPDATE: CNN had it wrong as usual. The LA Times and the UK Independent are reporting that the Americans were U.S. military on leave, Spencer Stone,an Air Force paramedic, and Alek Skarlatos, a U.S. soldier fresh from a tour of AfPak and a friend of theirs from Sacramento California where all three grew up, Anthony Sadler.

Not only did they subdue the would-be killer, but Stone saved one man's life in spite of being badly injured himself by stopping the bleeding from the man's throat which had been slit.

The jihadi, now identified as Ayoub el Khazani was actually on a terrorist watch list with French security.

The Council Has Spoken! Our Watcher's Council Results

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast, and the results are in for this week's Watcher's Council match up.

"This movement is turning our campuses into hostile environments for free expression and due process. And so far, university officials, political leaders, and the White House are siding with the mob." - Christina Hoff Summers

"Why can't a woman/Be more like a man? - 'Hymn To Him' from My Fair Lady

"Feminists at Occidental College created an online form to anonymously report rape/sexual assault," a user wrote in a Tuesday post on Reddit's Men's Rights group. "You just fill out a form and the person is called into the office on a rape charge. The 'victim' never has to prove anything or reveal their identity." - Quoted In Los Angeles Times, December 20, 2013.

This week's winning essay, Bookworm Room's The coming perfect storm on American college campuses — one that feminists and other professional victims will hate is pretty much about what the title implies it is...an examination of the current anti-male politically correct malaise with a surprise ending! Here's a slice:

Several bizarre trends are burgeoning on American college campuses, all of which have the potential to backfire in spectacular form against the hardcore Leftists who are promulgating these ideas. This post focuses on three of the worst ideas in modern academia:

(1) The next generation of political correctness, which classifies any speech that hurts a student’s feelings as either a microaggression or a form of triggering. Older generation Lefties are slowly figuring out that these concepts are a form of censorship — but pointing that out, of course, is a form of microaggression that can trigger feelings of persecution in women, members of the LGBTQRSTUV community, people of color, people with handicaps (including young lawyers who demand corner offices at large law offices because they suffer from claustrophobia, something that really happened), victims of rape, victims of bad haircuts, people traumatized by reading about Cecil the Lion, etc.

(2) The bizarre pretense that a person’s sex is no longer a biological matter (as in X and Y chromosomes, which manifest themselves in different reproductive systems, hormones, musculoskeletal systems, etc.), but is simply a matter of preference, so that students can now claim to have a “fluid gender identity” that changes depending upon the person’s mood. On Tuesday, feeling manly, you can put on jeans and a baseball cap, and manspread over a couple of seats at a campus coffee shop; then on Wednesday, to explore your feminine side, you can put on a nice sun dress, put conditioner in your beard to make it soft and silky, and participate in the Womyn’s Group’s latest protest against male hegemony.

(3) The rabid attack on all men as rapists. The most recent examples of this campus pathology range from a manifestly delusional confabulator (as happened at the University of Virginia), to a pathetic woman desperate for attention (as seen with Emma Sulkowicz), to a scorned woman (such as the one who fell into the clutches of one of academia’s professional man haters, and then managed to drag an innocent man into a kangaroo court beyond even Kafka’s imaginings).

The last of the three trends, incidentally, is a direct by-product of the virulent misanthropy that incubates in “womyn’s studies” departments and that thrives on American campuses. If you’re interested in learning more, I highly recommend Robert Stacy McCain’s Sex Trouble: Essays on Radical Feminism and the War Against Human Nature. The book, which is by McCain’s own admission a work in progress, provides chapter and verse on the man-hating lesbians who occupy academia and churn out academic bestsellers. One of the more prominent examples of these “scholars” was the late Andrea Dworkin who, in 1987, published Intercourse, which asserts that all male-female penetrative sex is by definition a form of rape.

You do realize, of course, where we’re going with these three trends? One day, it’s going to happen that a young woman, whether because she’s delusional, an emotional exhibitionist, or simply vindictive, will file a complaint with her university’s sexual harassment squad claiming that, even though she consented for months to have sex with her boyfriend, she’s concluded in retrospect that her erstwhile boyfriend raped her. Being familiar with the Stalin-esque administration of her campus, she rightly assumes that, once she’s filed her complaint, her boyfriend will be summoned before a kangaroo court and run out of campus on a rail, with his entire future destroyed. Ah, sweet revenge!

But wait!

In our non-Council category, the winner was the brilliant Mark Steyn with The Party of Why Nothing Can Be Done submitted by The Watcher.

Steyn's characterization of the GOP is hilarious and unfortunately right on target. Recommended.

Our Weasel Of The Week!!

This week's nominees were all particularly slimy and despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner...the envelope please.

Secretary In A State, American Gigolo  And Appeaser Extraordinaire John Kerry!

The Independent Sentinel : John Kerry is a weasel for raising the US flag over the embassy in Cuba during a much-publicized ceremony and not insisting on an invitation being extended to the dissidents. The ceremony was nothing more than a propaganda event for the communists.

Ah, yes...John Kerry, whom never saw a totalitarian regime he couldn't make common cause with.   Y'know, he never did sign that form 180 to release his service records, but we do know that aside from trying unsuccessfully to get his hands on Jane Fonda and her money, our secretary of state also met with North Vietnamese diplomats in Paris during the war to discuss 'political strategy' for undermining America's war effort on the home front. We'll never know, but it could very well be that the Navy dealt with this conduct and his infamous 'winter soldiers' scam in their own way.

This stuff with Iran and Cuba is just more of the same. It's simply in his DNA.

Here's someone who  interviewed Kerry after the 2oo4 campaign and got him to open up in ways I don't anyone else has....character is indeed destiny.

For a lifetime of weaseldom, John Kerry richly deserves the statuette of shame.

Well, there it is.

Check back next Tuesday to see who next week's nominees for Weasel of the Week are!

A Great Solution To End Police Shootings Of Black Youths

It happened again today. Two white policemen in north St. Louis shot and killed a black man...

A man who pointed a gun at police was shot and killed by officers in north St. Louis, according to St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.

Officers were executing a search warrant at a home near Walton and Page, Dotson said at a news conference, when two armed men ran out of the back door of the home.

One pointed a gun at police officers, the chief said.

It appears two officers fired a total of four shots – one fired one shot, the other fired three shots, Dotson said.

Both officers, who are white, were unharmed, according to a police report.

One suspect was hit, continued running, collapsed, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was a black male in his early 20s, and he had a gun reported stolen from Rolla, Mo.

A number of other suspects were taken into custody, along with four guns and a quantity of crack. The house has had warrants served before.

The arresting officers, of course, had to put up with protests from the neighbors:

The shooting that left a black suspect dead drew protests, with many of the roughly 150 people who gathered at the scene hurling obscene gestures and expletives at investigators and questioning the police use of deadly force. Some chanted “Black Lives Matter,” a mantra used a year ago after the police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in nearby Ferguson.

“Another youth down by the hands of police,” Dex Dockett, 42, who lives nearby, told a reporter. “What could have been done different to de-escalate rather than escalate? They (police) come in with an us-against-them mentality. You’ve got to have the right kind of cops to engage in these types of neighborhoods.”

Another neighborhood resident, Fred Price, skeptical about Dotson’s account that the suspect pointed a gun at officers before being mortally wounded.

“They provoked the situation,” Price, 33, said. “Situations like this make us want to keep the police out of the neighborhood. They’re shooting first, then asking questions.”

Living as they do near an obvious crack house, I admit I have to questions the mental processes of these people. After all, one less thug in a neighborhood like that, especially one crazy enough to point a gun at two policemen should be a blessing.

But on the other hand, maybe they have a point. Perhaps these policemen are vicious, racist cops who just wanted to shoot down a black youth. Maybe he just wandered in and didn't realize the place was a crack house. Maybe he didn't shoot at the police. Maybe the stolen gun was given to him by someone else to hold, or the racist white cops planted it.I'm sure that's the way these people's thoughts are running.

Since none of us were there to actually see what occurred, I think it's fair to accept the view of these residents of the neighborhood as just as legitimate as the police chief's, or mine for that matter. And therein lies a perfect solution.

The locals don't like the police, to put it mildly, and I'm sure that the police themselves don't enjoy going into neighborhoods where their attempts to do a difficult job are looked upon by a significant number of the inhabitants as the provocation of racist interlopers.

Mr. Fred Price points the way to a win win resolution that will please everyone. Let's indeed give the residents of north St. Louis and other similar areas a way to keep the police out of their neighborhoods.

Let the residents take a vote on making their neighborhoods off limits to police. If such a vote passes, let the residents make their own arrangements for crime prevention or policing should they see fit to do so,and offer property owners a discount on their taxes based on this city service they would no longer be using.

Police would be limited to enforcing the perimeters of such neighborhoods, so that thugs and criminals would be prevented from leaving these neighborhoods during certain hours. But inside the perimeter, the residents themselves would take responsibility.

Based on certain incidents that have happened in neighborhoods like this in the past during tense times, it would probably make sense to eliminate or at least cut back fire department and EMT service as well, since many times they require a police escort in order to guarantee the safety of the firemen and EMT personnel. Or perhaps these communities might be able to make arrangements not to attack them.

Like I said, a win win. The inhabitants of these neighborhoods would get the kind of policing they deserve, and the men and women the majorities in these communities see as vicious police killers would have no opportunity to practice their racism. And the police wouldn't have to go into these areas where they're seen as the enemy, making life easier and less dangerous for them.

Of course, if the people in these communities voted to continue to allow the police to serve them, it certainly wouldn't be out of line for the police to demand respect and a healthy benefit of the doubt in exchange.

Yet Another Reason Israel Can't Rely on Agreements With The Obama Regime

Because agreements with this president and his team rarely mean anything, especially when it comes to Israel.

A little over two decades ago, Israel signed a piece of paper called the Oslo Accords with terrorist Yasser Arafat and gave the PLO control of part of Judea and Samaria and a piece of Gaza in exchange for commitments that were never kept. One of the many reasons it was a huge mistake is that it legitimized one of Israel's enemies and gave them a base to operate out of. And being a piece of paper, it's subject to interpretation by the U.S. and others, and almost never in Israel's favor, especially since Barack Obama slithered into the Oval Office.

A case in point on how this works is the US State Department's temper tantrum over supposed 'unequal treatment' American citizens whom refer to themselves as Palestinians.
"The US government seeks equal treatment and freedom to travel for all US citizens regardless of national origin or ethnicity," State Department spokesman John Kirby said.

"Specifically, the US government remains concerned at the unequal treatment that Palestinian-Americans and other Arab-Americans receive at Israel's borders and checkpoints."

Kirby did not address the specifics of individual reports, instead referring reporters to Israeli authorities.

What's the unequal treatment? That those Americans whom identify as Palestinians can only enter Israel via the Allenby Bridge from Jordan rather than Ben-Gurion Airport.Which, by the way is exactly what the Oslo Accords stipulate and what the PLO, Israel and the United States agreed to and signed on to!

You think the risk of terrorism and the need to screen Americans whom identify themselves as Palestinians might just have something to do with that? That Israel is trying to avoid a potential terrorist from shutting down its major airport?

To make this even more ridiculous, the State Department's own website clearly tells Americans whom claim to be Palestinians not to enter Israel via Ben-Gurion and that they are required to enter from Jordan:

"Many Palestinian nationals or dual nationals seeking to enter via Ben-Gurion have been sent back to the United States upon arrival," the website notes. "Others have been allowed to enter Israel but told they cannot depart Israel via Ben-Gurion without special permission, which is rarely granted."

This is especially revealing in view of what the Obama regime is asking Israel to accept when it comes to retreating to the pre '67 cease fire lines and the farcical Iran deal. When you can't trust people to keep existing agreements, why trust them on new ones?

Our Watcher's Council Nominations - Dog Days Edition

Ah, the sultry days leading up to the end of summer, when the warm weather brings out the torpor and laziness in all of us and little gets accomplished except by the determined and the desperate.

Of course, these days that group would include the members of the political class and their veritable army of servants, Praetorians, hangers on and staffers.

The Romans were the first to label this time of year the Dog Days(diēs caniculārēs), noting that the skies were ruled by Sirius, the Dog Star, the brightest star in the night sky at this time of year. And Herodotus, Plutarch, Caesar and Thucydides all noted the effect this time of year has on men...the influence of the days of Dog Star giving rise to tempers, frustrations, gambles and many times, war and rumors of war. Some things never change. Or at least that's what the smart money in Vegas, DC and other oracular venues where the entrails, the Dow or the polls get read for what the omens reveal. The mood can get ugly very quickly.

This week's contest is dedicated to letting sleeping dogs lie...at least for the moment.

Our Weasel Of The Week Nominees!!

    https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg

Once again, it's time for the Watcher's Council's 'Weasel Of The Week' nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award o the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!

    Here are this weeks' nominees....

American Psycho, 9/11 Truther And Public Personality Rosie O' Donnell!

The Noisy RoomDoes it get any more disgusting than Rosie O’Donnell? Just sayin’. As Mark Steyn put it, if it bleeds, it leads. O’Donnell came out in defense of Megyn Kelly after Donald Trump made a comment about her ‘blood coming out of wherever.’ Never mind that he did not mean to reference that time of the month, the right and the left have run with that meme in a frenzied attack on the man. It’s gross. But Rosie doubles down on this whole bloody mess and grosses everyone out to no end with, “I’d like to take my period blood I no longer have and write, ‘you’re all assh—s,” she said. “I’d like to smear it all over some people’s faces.” She needs to shut up and go away just like her monthlies have.

O’Donnell is hoping to take Trump out with a tampon, or lack there of. Pathetic. This doesn’t have a damned thing to do with the war on women. And while O’Donnell vaguely qualifies as such, I take offense at her offense. Somehow, as Mark Steyn brilliantly put it, I doubt that the Republican Party’s leading presidential candidate will be taken out by an intercontinental ballistic tampon. Or by the likes of some shrill harpie like Rosie O’Donnell, who will do anything to become relevant one last time. Even if involves the Liberal menstrual show and making herself an even bigger laughing stock, if that is possible. If it bleeds, it leads and if it comes out of the pie hole of Rosie O’Donnell, you can count on it being bloody awful.

Don Surber : I second Terresa's motion on Rosie O'Donnell, aka, Mustela Donna Trump.

    Republican Strategist Cheri Jacobus!

Puma By Design : My choice for Weasel of the Week is GOP establishment pundit, Cheri Jacobus, who has unleashed a nasty attack against Breitbart’s John Nolte and Conservative voters that support Donald Trump labeling Trump supporters low information voters and stupid.

Jacobus who is the third GOP strategist to attack the Republican Party base in the past three (3) days, using the same talking points, has been in the business for three decades.

Jacobus is of the mindset that she knows better than the little people, so it is lost on her that what she brings to the Republican Party while a valuable asset for the GOP leadership is meaningless to the American voter. (sarcasm).

    Breitbart:

We now have a second top Republican consultant who appears to believe that trashing voters is the way to win elections. Cheri Jacobus, a consultant and cable television pundit, ripped into yours truly on Twitter over my criticism of Gollum-In-Glasses Rick Wilson (which is fine — I enjoy infighting). What is not okay is Jacobus recklessly hurling demeaning insults at voters….

Attacking Donald Trump is fair game.

Attacking Breitbart News is fair game.

    Attacking me is fair game.

What, though, is the possible strategy behind attacking and marginalizing the very voters we need to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016….

The Republican base is stirred up but not for the candidate ordained worthy to become POTUS45 by the GOP leadership; and so since all other efforts to take down Trump has failed, GOP pundits, Fox News who is veering left are out in full force shamelessly lambasting the base while placing on display theirs and the GOP establishment’s contempt for "stupid American voters."

Lastly, it is obvious that these attacks on Trump supporters are so much more. These attacks are a message to every Republican voter who supports not only a non-professional politician but any other candidate except Jeb Bush.

The Ever Servile Rabbis For Obama

JoshuaPundit: Recently, 340 rabbis signed a letter praising President Obama for his Iran deal, castigating Jews whom opposed it and urging their fellow Jews to get behind the president and lobby their representatives in Congress.

I know some of these rabbis by repute and the stench was familiar, so I did some research. This group has several things in common. They are almost all rabbis from the Reform, Reconstructionist and mis-named Conservative denominations. They all endorse far Left politics and are almost all highly critical of Israel on a regular basis. And the vast majority (about 70%) are associated with J-Street,with some of them sitting on the board. Others are associated with groups like  A Jewish Voice For Peace, and  Peace Now. Virtually all of them are now or were members of Rabbis for Obama. It's hard to tell whose still on board now because Organizing for America has removed the list, but based on who was a member back in 2012, I'm assuming it hasn't changed much. Needless to say, when this is mentioned in the media these associations are never part of the  story.

President Obama has been criticized  even by a number of Jews on the Left for trying to sell his Iran deal by  raising what amount to anti-semitic themes of dual loyalty, of 'Jewish money' and lobbyists seeking to buy congress, even of Jewish 'neocons who got us into war in Iraq' seeing to get America into war 'for Israel.'

The sort of people whom signed this letter could care less.  They made a decision a long time ago to act as a cover for this president's anti-Israel policies (which is precisely why he and George Soros funded and formed J Street), and to continue to worship at the feet of their Idol. People can disagree on politics, but the self-hatred and servile willingness to be used as tools nauseates me, even though this is old news and essentially how they've behaved for a long time. The stakes just seem higher now.

Even more ironic is that the recognition and redemption they're seeking from their Idol isn't forthcoming, But the contempt is certainly obvious. President Obama's choice to lobby black churches for the Iran deal? None other than his close associate and frequent guest at the White House Al Sharpton, one of America's worst anti-semites, someone whom even incited a pogrom against Jews in Crown Heights.

Well, there it is. What a despicable group of  Weasels...ANY OF THEM COULD WIN! Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

Make sure to tune in every Monday for the Watcher’s Forum.

And remember, every Wednesday, the Council has its weekly contest with the members nominating two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council.
