An Open Letter To The Democrat Media

The Democrats -and especially the Democrat media- are still roaring in pain over Donald Trump's victory and the GOP's control of congress and most of the state governments. They still haven't come to grips with what happened and especially, why.

The latest meme for a lot of them is plotting  what they refer to as 'new strategies for covering Trump' (read 'defeating and marginalizing Trump') as if this were a tactical problem rather than a transformational change in the making. They're all about, you know, fighting back by any means necessary. Who gives a rip what those stupid hillbillys in flyover country voted for? We're the elites, we know best and  this is how we will teach them what to think!

One of the most inadvertently funniest screeds of this nature was written by Jack Shafer, formally of the ultra left Slate and now Politico’s senior media writer.

It's called 'The New Rules For Covering Trump' and was such a viciously superb, clueless sample of where the Leftist Democrat Media is right now that it actually touched my kind and genteel nature. So I wrote the following in the comments section, addressed directly to  Mr. Schafer but something that can certainly be shared by his Lefty friends, because I'm always here to help:

Cute lil' article..'Here's how you tame that wild, alpha male chimpanzee.' I have to wonder how you would have felt and what you would have written if someone referred to Barack Obama like that.

You still don't get it, do you? Maybe I can help clue you in.

You, CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, the WAPO, the NYT and the rest did exactly what you always do. You threw everything you could at Donald Trump, from ridiculous stories 'factchecked' by paid shills working for you and coordinated with the Clinton campaign to the ridiculously biased talking heads the Democrat dominated debate Commission allowed you to you appoint to 'moderate' the debates. The only moderator that actually did the job properly without making it a two on one against Trump or Mike Pence was Chris Wallace of FOX, a Democrat but someone who still has a semblance of journalistic ethics. Poor Matt Lauer got banished to the outermost circle of Hell because he actually had the temerity to ask Queen Hillary a question about her illegal private servers and all those e-mails she deleted.. You even went to the trouble of furnishing Hillary with the questions beforehand before the debates. In essence, all of you were part of the Clinton team making what amounted to what the FEC would term a campaign contribution in kind.

This stuff all worked so well for you before. Did you ever bother to try and figure out why it didn't work this time? Think about this one, Jack. Did you ever get screwed over? Did anyone you really trusted ever lie to you? Did you ever have a cheating wife or girlfriend, or a car dealership, mechanic, insurance company or other company lie to you and screw you over? Ever trust them again?

Yeah, I know. This was the year you prog-facists were gonna win it big and take over the country once and for all. So you went all out. But you got greedy and that made you stupid and clumsy. You were too blatant this time, too smug, too contemptuous of us peasants and too unapologetic about that contempt. Between that and what Wikileaks put out, every bit of trust and credibility you ever enjoyed was flushed down the toilet except for the terminally credulous. Also, for the first time since Ronaldus Magnus you were facing someone who refused to kiss your behinds, knew how the game was played going in and had the smarts to hire people who knew how to play the game even better than you did. So not only did you lose an election, you got exposed for exactly what you are.

That's why these cute little tricks you list above won't work any better than they did during the campaign, Jack. Oh, you'll still reach the True Believers. MSNBC survived that way for awhile after 2004. But remember, things are different now. More people believed what you were selling back then, didn't they? And Bush, aside from being no great shakes as a Prez was the kind of guy you could kick at will without him being man enough to hit back and make you look like the propagandists you are. New reality now, Jack. As a recent Nobel Prize winner once wrote. the times,. they are a'changin'. And it'll be even more evident once Trump actually takes over. Wait'll one of you publishes classified intel the way Pravda-on-the-Hudson did during Bush's two terms and see what happens. I guarantee you, it's not going to be limited to an upset comment or two.
Imagine how much fun it's going to be if  Trump revokes your press credentials and includes alternate media instead like Breitbart, Drudge and FrontPage. Think how it's going to be if he gives Julian Assange a pardon and allows him to set up Wikileaks here, and starts giving interviews and access to real journalists like Sharyl Attkisson, and James O'Keefe? Imagine being marginalized.
You made this bed you're lying in (in more ways than one). There's an audience for your shtick at least for a while, so you could just keep that going, which I admit amuses me on a personal level. Of course, you could also start being real journalists and work on getting your cred back....oh, never mind. Telling the truth isn't exactly in your job description, now is it?
Ah hard feelings, here's a little something to make you feel better...

Thanksgiving And The Giving Of Thanks

Thanksgiving’s upon us, our unique North American Holiday (yes, our Canadian friends celebrate it too, but on a different day a month earlier).

Oh, I almost forgot. It’s also celebrated ( and properly so) as a national holiday in the Caribbean Republic of Grenada, every year on October 25. That’s the day American Marines liberated them from Communist jefecito Maurice Bishop and his Cuban allies back in 1983.

Its direct ancestor was the Hebrew festival of Sukkot, as William Bradford and the Pilgrims were very familiar with the Hebrew Bible, and reading both Greek and Hebrew was not uncommon among educated people who wanted to read the Bible and the New testament in their original languages. The Pilgrims regarded themselves as akin to the Jews of Exodus dwelling in the Wilderness, and William Bradford actually wrote the draft of part of the Mayflower Compact in his own Hebrew.

Below, a real classic; Rush Limbaugh tells the true story of Thanksgiving, one we don't often hear.

On the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims celebrated and thanked G-d for their survival and reportedly gave a feast, inviting the local Indian tribes as guests. The holiday has endured ever since and was made an official holiday by our first President, George Washington. Here's his original Thanksgiving proclamation, from 1789:   Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty G-d, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"    Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.  And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.    Read those words again, slowly. Savor them. One can only imagine President Washington' feelings as he wrote this. Washington, who along with the other patriots had risked his life, his fortune and his sacred honor against all odds to create our Republic had seen its birth pangs first hand. He understood that out of the depths of despair, against all odds, a miracle had occurred at the hands of the Almighty. It was not for nothing that the Founders chose as our national motto 'In G-d We Trust.' They understood, as did Washington, that our G-d given freedom is not only a gift, but a responsibility, something for ourselves and our posterity to preserve if we wish to keep it.

Over the years, Thanksgiving has acquired a number of traditions here in America..foods like roast turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and pumpkin pie, football on TV, travel madness for those leaving town to be with their extended families…and a feeling of thankfulness for G-d’s bounty and the closeness to our families, sometimes unexpressed but never absent.

As you celebrate, try something…no matter your circumstances, take a long moment to reflect on your blessings. Be thankful for that bountiful harvest, for your loved ones, for your friends, for the fact that we live as free men and women in a free country. And remember that this is only a reality because other men and women are willing to endure hardship and be away from their own loved ones to keep it so.

Whatever else you do, take a minute to spend some time and enjoy the feeling of being close to the people that have always been there for you, the ones you can’t leave behind, as the song says. It’s important.

And carry with you my best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving for you and yours.

May you be blessed...Selah.

California Seceding? Don't Make Me Laugh!

The latest manifestation of butt hurt, crybaby lefties are threats from Democrat owned California to secede from the United States.

Here's a sample of what the#neverTrumpers at Bloomberg have to say:

Immediately after the election, state Senate President Kevin de León and his Assembly counterpart, Anthony Rendon, both Latinos from Southern California, sent out a scathing statement in English and Spanish assuring all 39 million Californians that they were ready for political war. “Today, we woke up feeling like strangers in a foreign land, because yesterday Americans expressed their views on a pluralistic and democratic society that are clearly inconsistent with the values of the people of California,” they wrote. “We will lead the resistance to any effort that would shred our social fabric or our Constitution.”

With the largest economy in the U.S. and the sixth-largest in the world, the state enjoys greater independence from Washington than most. It was the first state to adopt its own vehicle emissions standards, in 2002. In 2012, California created the only state-level cap-and-trade system for limiting greenhouse gas emissions after Republicans in Congress rejected a national model. California, which has more undocumented immigrants than any other state, offers them driver’s licenses as well as financial aid for college. It has imposed some of the country’s strictest background checks on firearms purchases. It’s one of three states to provide paid family and medical leave and one of five that require employers to offer paid sick leave. “This is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern political history,” says de León. “We’re going to do everything in our power to protect our people and our values as Californians.”

State Democrats say there’s plenty they can do short of leaving the U.S. California has long been a net contributor to Washington’s coffers, receiving an estimated 78¢ in federal spending in return for every dollar it sends, according to a study by the Washington-based Tax Foundation, a nonprofit think tank that provides analysis of federal and state tax policies. That gives state leaders potential leverage when it comes to complying with policies it doesn’t like, starting with the deportation of undocumented immigrants.

From January 2014 to September 2015, California released immigrants considered deportable under federal law in more than 11,000 instances, rather than keeping them in custody for federal agents, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement data obtained by the Texas Tribune. The next state on the list, New York, released people in fewer than 2,000 cases.

The article's certainly correct about that last part. One of these 'immigrants' they refused to hold for ICE (let's be more honest than Bloomberg and call them illegal migrants instead) was a career criminal murdered Kate Steinle in San Francisco. And that's after he was deported five times.

Let's examine this bolshoi in detail, shall we?

The reason for the uproar among California Democrats has nothing to do with values. It has to do with maintaining their political power. California is a solid blue state today simply because the electorate was deliberately changed by the state's Democrats using a combination of open borders, extremely generous social welfare benefits and high taxation to pay for it that caused a lot of the sort of people who used to vote Republican to leave the state.

California, which has the largest population of illegal migrants in America is arguably the easiest state in the union to commit voter fraud in. Democrat President Clinton's 'voter-motor' legislation automatically registers to vote anyone getting a driver's license or registering a vehicle who checks a box asking to be registered to vote. California changed that slightly by automatically registering them to vote unless they checked a box asking not to be registered to vote.

The state gives driver's licenses to illegal migrants and not only does it not check immigration status, but it allows illegal migrants to obtain California driver's licenses with a matricula consular card issued by one of the numerous Mexican consulates in the state as their only identification. Needless to say, the consulates don't check anyone's data too closely, and if there's a problem, $50 0r $100 cash to the right clerk will get you a matricula consular ID with any name or details you want.

The state has no voter ID laws at all, and a recent Univision poll that the station quickly suppressed and took off the internet showed that a third of the respondents who admitted to being in California illegally also admitted they had voted. And why wouldn't they? There's nothing stopping them, they're duly registered and the president of the United States encouraged them to vote in the last election!

So now you know exactly why many California Democrats are up in arms over actually enforcing our immigration laws. And a big part of what's behind the recent secession fervor.

Right now, as I write this there's an organized group submitting a proposed ballot measure to the state attorney general’s office for a 2018 vote.

It's unlikely to go anywhere for a number of reasons. The national Democrat party will fight it tooth and nail because without California, they lose two senate seats and 39 House seats, and they're doomed to minority status forever. A large part of the state would likely refuse to leave the United States. And November 2018 would take place almost two years after President Trump takes office. A fair amount of those illegal migrant votes the proponents are counting on to shove this through will likely not be available by then. Finally, as we'll see, the cost would likely bankrupt the state.

But just for giggles, let's assume it gets on the ballot, is put to a vote, and passes. How exactly would that work out for California?

As secession proponents are fond of repeating, the state is the world's sixth largest economy and contributes $1 to the federal treasury for every 78 cents it receives in federal funding. What they aren't looking at is the nature of what California contributes and where it comes from, or the nature of that federal spending.

California's large economy primarily derives from the fact that it can ship things like high tech and agricultural products to the rest of the United States tariff free and receive imports from the rest of America duty free. If the new nation/state of California expects to receive the same deal after a hostile secession, they're kidding themselves.

Just imagine how quickly most of Silicon Valley would relocate faced with a 25% tariff on what it exports to the rest of America! Not only that, but things California now gets for free would be things the state would now have to finance, like defense, the Coast Guard, airport security, Medicare, MedicAid (that's $15 billion for the exchange  alone) a merchant marine to ship its good overseas, various regulatory's a long and costly list.

Another thing secessionists aren't calculating astounds me, given that it's California we're talking about...that divorces always cost money.

California has millions in Federal infrastructure. There are office buildings, highways, post offices, military bases, armories, dams, national parks, prisons, VA hospitals, communications networks and terminals, fire watching stations, and railroads among other things that the Federal government will rightly demand to be reimbursed for since they were paid for with federal funds.

Also, much of what California contributes to the federal treasury is in the form of taxes. This includes excise taxes on gasoline, communications, the internet, and all sorts of other things. A lot of this stuff would have to be imported to the new nation, and the cheapest and nearest source is Red America unless the new California government wants to enrage its powerful environmental lobby by drilling offshore near those pretty beaches. Setting up an oil or natural gas infrastructure is costly too. And so is importing it. Goodness, they'd actually have to build an oil refinery! And put desalinization plants on the coast to be able  to stop buying Colorado River water from Red America. Imagine how high the taxes would have to go to support all that!

Californians thinking about whether to secede will be shocked at how much freedom from America is going to cost. That ratio of dollars paid out versus federal funds received would change really quickly.

The socialist coastal elites have been running - almost wrote ruining, Freudian slip- California for some time now. You won't get any argument out of me that they're insane. Whether they're crazy enough for this, especially since a lot of their tax base - the folks that aren't working for state and local governments would move away to avoid the inevitable sky high taxes that would result  is anyone's guess. Mine would be no, but like I said we're not dealing with rational people here.

That Hamilton Thing - The Racist And Intolerant Left On Display Again

The latest example of the 'tolerant, inclusive' Left's intolerance and bigotry occurred at a performance of the Broadway show 'Hamilton,' which seeks to rewrite history from a far Left, über-progressive perspective. Tickets start at about $1,000 apiece, and this is New York City, so the audience is mainly wealthy Lefties with money to burn. This was a nest of the elites who were just overthrown.

Vice -president elect Mike Pence decided to take a little relaxation  by attending the show. The minute he was recognized, he and his family were subjected to boos, catcalls and jeers by the audience, and as he was leaving he was subjected to a lecture from the stage by actor Brandon Victor Dixon.

Notice the real meaning of the language...'WE are the real, diverse America while YOU sir and Donald Trump are a bunch of white racists who we fear won't protect what WE see as our 'rights,' our children, our planet, yadda yadda. And you had better make sure you work for OUR agenda, not yours. You need to listen to US.'

Take away the moderate, carefully-edited-for-the-media phrasing Mr. Dixon used and that's pretty much it.

The video also doesn't show an incident that happened, during the show, when  one of the actors sang a zippy little hip hop  number about how much he hated the King - and looked directly at Pence and his party during the entire number, to wild applause from the audience.

Need I mention that Brandon Victor Dixon is an enthusiastic supporter of the racist and anti-semitic #blacklives matter movement?

And that he; apparently, to use the Left's dog whistle standards, finds sexual assaults on intoxicated white girls funny?

Via Milo Yiannopoulos:
Overnight, he [Dixon] became a sensation among liberals, who praised him as a champion for the rights and freedoms of all Americans. But then this surfaced.

And as we see above, the show itself unapologetically practices racial discrimination when it comes to hiring. That's against the rules of Actors Equity, against state law and against federal law.Somehow, the Obama Department of Justice never saw fit to investigate that blatant racism.

Can you imagine what would happen to a play, film or Broadway show that put out a casting call advertisement like that saying no blacks, Asians or Latinos need apply? Or to an actor who addressed President Barack Hussein Obama or Joe Biden in that fashion from the stage?

Pence, like the class act he is simply listened and walked out.Later his response was simply to say he wasn’t offended and that he didn’t want an apology. “I’ll leave it to others to decide if the stage was the appropriate venue.”

After all, revenge is a dish best served cold.

An important part of any Broadway shows profits come from the road show as it tours through America, sometimes with the original cast, sometimes not.  While something like 'Hamilton' will mostly stick to Lefty Blue enclaves, right now one of the biggest trending hashtags in social media is #boycottHamilton.

Even more to the point, there's legislation upcoming early next year about an extremely vital tax break for Broadway plays Obama pushed through in 2015. It allows  live theater investors to take tax deductions in a show's first year, which means they'll only pay income  taxes after a show turns a profit.

That tax break will need to be extended in 2017, and they will need Republican votes to do it. How favorably do you think Republicans in Congress are going to look on a tax break for an industry that just cheerfully insulted the Vice-President? How anxious do you think President Trump, who was outraged and demanded an apology for Pence will be to sign it?

As we've seen before, the real racism, totalitarianism and bigotry has it's home on the Left. This is a perfect example.

Keith Ellison, The Perfect DNC Head!!

The Democrats have a new hero who's heavily favored to take over running the Democratic National Committee (DNC) He's none other than Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). He's a leading member of the Progressive Caucus in Congress, a black, a Muslim and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. I support him totally and hope he gets the job.

His background alone makes him a natural, and I'm glad to see that prominent Democrats like Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer are supporting his candidacy.

And his background? Simply perfect for the job he wants as the new voice for the entire Democrat party. Let's look at it, shall we?

Keith Ellison was born in 1963 in Detroit and raised Roman Catholic. At age 19, while attending Wayne State University, he converted to Islam. When the Nation of Islam split into the American Society of Muslims (a group modeled on classic Sunni Islam led by Elijah Muhammad's son Warith Deen Muhammad) and the breakaway reestablished Nation of Islam led by Louis Farrakhan, Ellison went with Farrakhan's group.

Ellison later attended the University of Minnesota Law School where in his third year, 1989-90, Ellison wrote two columns for the Minnesota Daily under the alias “Keith Hakim.” One column lauded “Minister Louis Farrakhan,” one of America's premier racists and Jew haters as well as defending the views of a well known Nation of Islam spokesman Khalid Abdul Muhammad, famous for a vicious speech he made to a Kean College, New Jersey audience that referred to Jews as people whose ancestors were cannibals who “crawled around on all fours in the caves and hills of Europe” and “slept in [their] urination and [their] defecation ... for 2,000 years.” He characterized contemporary Jews as “slumlords in the black community” who were busy “sucking our [blacks’] blood on a daily and consistent basis.” He said that Jews had provoked Adolf Hitler when they “went in there, in Germany, the way they do everywhere they go, and they supplanted, they usurped.”

Muhammed, who later went on to form the New Black Panther Party was also a good friend of another Democrat icon, the Rev Al Sharpton. Sharpton was at Muhammed's bedside when he died in 2001 and paid for Muhammad's $10,000 funeral.

In his second column, Keith 'Hakim' Ellison demanded reparations for black Americans and an all-black, geographically self-contained “homeland.” Two things to keep in mind - Ellison was not some punk kid when he wrote this stuff but a mature young man of 27, and second, as we'll see, the timeline and his writing doesn't jibe with his later claim of being involved with the Nation of Islam for only 18 months and being unaware of the racial bigotry and anti-semitism.

In February 1990, Ellison participated in recruiting Kwame Ture (aka Stokely Carmichael) to speak at his law school on the subject, “Zionism: Imperialism, White Supremacy, or Both?” Ellison certainly can't say he wasn't aware of who Ture was or what his views were.

In 1995, Keith Ellison continued his involvement with the Nation of Islam, helping Louis Farrakhan organize the Million Man March, along with another one of Farrakhan's friends, a young community organizer named Barack Hussein Obama. While newspapers mainly reported only the most general details the alphabet networks only aired a few very carefully edited snippets, I taped the entire thing courtesy of CSPAN. It was one of the worst public exhibitions of racism and outright Jew hatred in recent American history.

Ellison not only participated in this, he appeared onstage with Khalid Abdul Muhammad, who gave the kind of vicious speech you would expect Khalid Abdul Muhammad to give at that kind of gathering. Ellison was there for the whole thing.

In February of 1997 Ellison, who continued to serve as a local NOI spokesman (with the new name of “Keith Ellison-Muhammad”)attended a public hearing concerning Joanne Jackson of the Minnesota Initiative Against Racism (MIAR). Jackson, like Ellison a supporter of Louis Farrakhan and the NOI, was under fire for saying to a group meeting held in Temple Israel Synagogue of Minneapolis that she considered Jews “Jews are among the most racist white people I know.”

Ellison of course defended her, saying, “We stand by the truth contained in the remarks attributed to [Ms. Jackson], and by her right to express her views without sanction. Here is why we support Ms. Jackson: She is correct about Minister Farrakhan. He is not a racist. He is also not an anti-Semite. Minister Farrakhan is a tireless public servant of Black people, who constantly teaches self-reliance and self-examination to the Black community.”

Ellison started his political career   in 1998, when he ran, unsuccessfully, for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nomination for state representative as “Keith Ellison-Muhammad.” In an article on his candidacy that appeared in Insight News, Ellison was still touting Farrakhan:
“Anticipating possible criticism for his NOI affiliation, Ellison-Muhammad says he is aware that not everyone appreciates what the Nation does and [he] feels there is a propaganda war being launched against its leader, Minister Louis Farrakhan.”

In February 2000, Ellison gave a speech at a fundraising event sponsored by the Minnesota chapter of a communist front group, the National Lawyers Guild, where he had he previously had served on the steering committee. The event was a fundraiser for Symbionese Liberation Army terrorist Kathleen Soliah after her arrest in St. Paul for the attempted murder of Los Angeles police officers in 1975. Aside from calling for her release, Ellison called her “basically … a black gang member” Ellison also spoke favorably of other high-profile murderers like Mumia Abu Jamal, Assata Shakur, and Geronimo Pratt.

This is the man who ran in 2006 as a Democrat for Minnesota's Fifth District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He'd wised up, dropping the Mohammad from his name and glossing over his Nation of Islam background. When it did finally come up, he proved his fitness for head of the DNC by simply lying about it.

When Jews associated with the local chapter of the Jewish Community Relations Council, questioned his NOI ties, Keith Ellison wrote them a letter stating emphatically that his involvement with the Nation Of Islam only lasted 18 months around the time of the Million Man March, that he had no clue about the anti-semitic nature of the group and that he quit as soon as he found out.

As you can tell by the above timeline and history, he was lying in every respect about that, but the gullible Jews bought in and got behind him, and being that it's a safe Democrat district, he got in easily.

But wait there's more! There's also a whole other side to Keith Ellison's background. It involves his connections with Islamist, Muslim Brotherhood front groups like CAIR, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee(MPAC) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought.

And he's had some interesting backers, among them Nihad Awad (a self-identified supporter of Hamas who would have been jailed for material aid to terrorism if not for Obama's protection), who spoke at an August 25, 2006 fundraiser for Ellison. The likely head of the DNC accepted thousands of dollars in campaign donations raised by Awad.

And he also spoke at CAIR-Tampa's sixth annual banquet, where he urged his listeners to support Sami al-Arian, the former University of South Florida professor who had confessed two years earlier to material support for terrorism in raising money and performing other services for the Iran backed terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

And there's Ellison commenting on America's military response to 9/11 in a July 2007 speech by comparing comparing it to how the Nazis had exploited the 1933 burning of the Reichstag in Berlin: “It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted.”

How's that for combining conspiracy theory, calling Republicans Nazis and supine appeasement in one short paragraph? He's brilliant, I tell you.

He's also a radical eat-the-rich advocate who admitted in a February 2013 interview with Fox News' Stuart Varney that he thinks it is “fair” for the wealthy to be taxed at whatever rate is necessary to raise money for the provision of services to more deserving lower-income Americans.

There's a lot more, but Keith Ellison's qualifications to be DNC head are clear. Let's sum them up.

Ellison has continued to be close to CAIR and other Islamist organizations. He's a J-Street darling and a reliable anti-Israel vote in Congress. He's a far left uber progressive, and he's a member of two, get it two Democrat grievance groups, a Muslim and black. And to top it all off, he shown a proven ability to lie convincingly to Jews about his racist, anti-semitic associations! He's PERFECT and embodies the Democrat party's policies and new direction. He's exactly the right guy to head the DNC, and I congratulate them on their choice.

Forum:OK Trump Won. Now What?

Every week on Monday, the WoW! community and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher's Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week's question: OK Trump Won. Now What?

Don Surber: Trump needs to prosecute the Clintons and RICO the Clinton Foundation. We live in a democratic republic with a Constitution. These people believe they are above the law. Let us show the world that is just not so.

The Razor : I expect Obama to pardon Clinton and her cronies using similar wording Ford used for pardoning Nixon. If he doesn’t, I believe Trump should prosecute the Clintons and investigate their Foundation. If he does I would like to see something along the lines of South Africa’s post-Apartheid Truth Commissions set up to at least fully expose and detail their crimes even if they are beyond punishment. In a similar move I would like to see thorough investigations of the IRS and the Justice Department for their singling out conservative groups for auditing and investigation. Some might take the line that Ford used that it was important to move forward, but unless these crimes are exposed and detailed in an objective manner, the Left will simply revert to using them once they return to power. Is this payback? Nope. It’s justice.

As for moving forward I believe that it’s important to follow the template set forth by Obama after his election in 2008. He immediately elevated the stature of the President-Elect, even using a presidential style seal and podium with the words emblazoned on them. He refused conciliation and compromise, stating that “elections have consequences” and “I won.” Trump should act the same way on issues that are at the top of his agenda. If anyone questions his actions he should state he’s just following Obama’s 2008 precedent.

This is an important point. I’ve seen the MSM criticize the use of the budget reconciliation process to repeal Obamacare to avoid the filibuster. This is the exact same process the Democratic Congress used to pass the legislation. Point that out because honestly, the MSM’s biased memory has forgotten that.

The Press is not going to provide him any honeymoon so he has to hit the ground running. Look for easy pickings that are hard to criticize like a bilateral trade deal with the UK. Other topics that are critical to his base like the Repeal and Replace of Obamacare must be considered carefully. Take time to do that, and focus instead on some quick-hits that make headlines but are relatively easy sells to the People.

Stately McDaniel Manor: I could go on forever, but ten immediate priorities:

10. Repeal Obamacare entirely and replace it with no more than 50 sheets of paper. This will, of necessity, removed a great many IRS employees.

9. Repeal every Obama executive order. If any did any good, they can be rewritten as necessary, and in ways that don’t allow cronies to rape the treasury.

8. Rescind every rule and regulation written during the last eight years.

7. Abolish the Department of Education.

6. Professionally and apolitically investigate the Clinton Foundation and each and every crime potentially committed by Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and any of their employees and minions. Prosecute as professionally required. Bend over backwards to see they are afforded the due process they denied to others.

5. Reform--including new legislations--the civil service code to, which still affording everyone due process, make it possible to fire government employees for incompetence or malicious mistreatment of citizens. Anyone so fired forfeits all benefits and pensions.

4. Fire every arrogant, smug, criminal head and manager of every governmental agency that has been lying to Congress and bedeviling the American public for years. Criminally prosecute them where applicable.

3. Remove every power of the EPA to in any way harass, fine, or punish any American citizen. All adverse actions must take place only with full due process before any action is taken. And rewrite all applicable laws as required. Reduce it by 70%. Hell, 80%.

2. Immediately dump the Iran nuclear deal. Tell Iran they will never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, and an attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the United States--pre and post Barack Obama. Follow it up with the appropriate application of high explosives. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

1. Completely revamp the tax code, reducing it to no more than 50 sheets of paper. Taxes must be able to be submitted on a postcard.

OK, OK, so I have a few more. You can always stop reading:

11. Sell most federal lands, other than legitimate national parks and monuments, and abolish the Bureau of Land Management.

12. Open up America to energy exploration and development, and make America entirely energy independent.

13. Harden America’ vital infrastructure against EMP attack.

14. Fight back against any cyberattacks in kind--declare all such attacks acts of war, which is what they are--and particularly, with the application of high explosives.

15. Convince the world, as soon as possible, that just like the Marines, there is no better friend than America, and no worse enemy.

16. Close the borders, once and for all. Rewrite all immigration laws, but write nothing we’re not willing and able to completely and uniformly enforce.

17. Make any smug EPA bureaucrat that has ever harassed any American over a stock pond, mud puddle, or anything else relating to their property apologize in person, naked, while wearing a dunce cap. Refund any fines or judgments wrung from innocent Americans.

18. Fire every employee of the Department of Justice hired in the last eight years.

19. Enact every pro-Second Amendment measure possible as soon as possible, such things as national concealed carry reciprocity, legalization of suppressors, ending military gun free zones, ending gun free school zones, enabling teachers to carry concealed on school grounds, Update the NICS background check system to actually better catch mentally ill people and criminals, and reinstate the importation of collectible historic firearms.

20. Fire any IRS employee that in any way willingly participated in denying Americans their rights.

I need to take a break now. My blood pressure is far too high.

Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason : Needless to say I was very happy Trump won. Last week I predicted Trump would win Florida. It didn’t look like he was going to until the results from the panhandle came in since they are an hour behind the rest of the state. It was a nail biter.

Putting myself in Trump’s position, my dream team would be:

Secretary of State – John Bolton or Newt Gingrich

Dept of Health and Human Services – Dr. Ben Carson

Attorney General – Rudy Guiliani

Department of Homeland Security – Jeff Sessions

Veterans Affairs – Florida Governor Rick Scott

Secretary of Treasury – Texas Congressman Jeb Hensarling

Secretary of Defense - Retired General Stanley McCrystal

Secretary of Interior – Sarah Palin

Secretary of Housing and Urban Department – Westchester County, NY Executive Rob Astorino

Whomever Trump chooses for the Departments of HUD, EPA, Energy and Education should be charged with the task of eliminating those departments entirely or at least strip them of any regulatory power.

A good leader surrounds him- or herself with highly skilled and knowledgeable people. Trump has the business acumen and appears to be a good judge of character and competency. He will need to find people who share the same vision for our country as the conservatives who elected him. If he succeeds in getting taxes lowered, puts an end to burdensome regulations ,and repeals Obamacare I believe we would be able to see an improvement in our economy within the first year of his presidency.

We will have to see how quickly he works towards achieving his professed objectives. President Trump must understand we will be watching and we will be calling him out if he fails to deliver on his promises.

According to the Real Clear Politics Map which takes feeds from all the major media outlets, Donald Trump just won Pennsylvania and passed the 270 electoral vote threshold !!!  Statistically, there's no longer any way Hilary Clinton can win. He will almost certainly end up with more  than 300 as Alaska, Michigan and Arizona come in. He leads in all three.

Get used to saying it..PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.

Sing along, Patriots!

This is an upset unprecedented in American politics. Trump had the media, the Clinton machine and his own party working against him. He was out spent 100 to 1 and had every dirty trick in the book used against him. He was written off countless times...and he still triumphed.

The Republicans, is spite of numerous predictions to the contrary kept their majority in the House and the Senate, winning key races in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The only Democrat pickup was Illinois, where leftist radical Tammy Duckworth defeated Mark Kirk.*

I see in this G-d's divine mercy. This was a spiritual test for America, and praise G-d we have another chance to redeem ourselves and become again the nation who chose as a motto  'In G-d we trust.' It's something I prayed for to the Master of All Things, He who rules over the nations. And I was not the only one ...

We have a second chance America, to redeem ourselves. G-d frequently works through the most unlikely vessels. So may it be with President Trump. I also don't think it was any coincidence that the candidate who headed the most pro-Israel ticket in decades won handily.

Hillary has of course refused to concede. John Podesta told the shocked media 'We'll have more to say tomorrow'.  Ironic, no, that after all the nonsense about Trump  not accepting the results it will be Hillary Clinton who may try to weasel what  she couldn't win at the ballot box, something that's doomed to failure.

Yes, Trump has won. But more importantly, America has.

As the psalm says, the stone that the builders despised has become the cornerstone. Pray for President Trump and our beloved Republic.

UPDATE: Hillary has conceded. Now the work begins.

UPDATE: Both Mark Kirk and Kelly Ayotte lost their seats...after alienating Trump supporters by distancing themselves from him. The same thing happened to Joe Heck, who would be the senator from Nevada and a GOP pickup if he hadn't dumped on Donald Trump. But the GOP majorty remains intact.

Donald Trump's Final Ad - The Heart Of The Matter and What's At Stake

He has it exactly right. This is what the election is really all about, and always has been.

Forum: Who Will Win The Election?

Every week on Monday, the WoW! community and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher's Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week's question: Who Will Win The Election?

Don Surber: Trump. Big (2-5 points).

As for the Senate, Nixon carried 49 states in 1972. Republicans lost two seats. Reagan took 49 states in 1984. Republicans lost two seats. However, Republicans gained 12 seats in Reagan's 1980 win. Looks like a 50-50 Senate with Pence making it a Republican Senate.

I see Republicans swapping Illinois for Nevada and maintaining their 54-46 advantage if Trump wins Bigly (6 to 9 points). Landslide (10 or more points) and they pick up Colorado. Bigly is a word by the way.

Bookworm Room : Wow! My answer is the same as it was for our last forum: I'm inclined to agree with Don Surber. Two weeks ago, I would have predicted a close race, with votes from dead people, illegal immigrants, and felons pushing Hillary over the finish line. Now, though, I think Hillary is falling with the speed of a penny dropped from the top of the Empire State Building. Her plummet is so extreme I doubt that even a Zombie Apocalypse, with the dead rushing the polls, can change things. Once the momentum changes at this stage in the game, and one candidate suddenly reeks of fear, incompetence, and decades of festering corruption, while the other looks politically stable even if personally questionable, the race is over.

Having said that, I've been wrong about election outcomes since 1996. I wouldn't ever trust my own predictions. But I still hope I'm right this time, if for no other reason than the witness the mass exodus of Hollywood B-class celebrities making good on their promises to head to Canada. (And Canada? Really? Why are none of them heading for Mexico? Raaacist!)

Puma By Design: Allow me (as usual) to go at it from another angle. Up until two weeks, my neighbors, peers and family (they still have learned) have been shouting Hillary, Hillary, Hillary.

Suddenly, many are not so openly fond of her and just as many will no longer engage me. Of course, the newspapers and local news channels while toning it down a bit are in the usual spin mode.

My son and his friends who insist that they will not vote for Donald Trump are no longer calling him a racist but still hate him. As for Hillary, they are seething, I have heard repeatedly, that they are now not voting for her after what she did to the Black people in Africa, how she treated Haiti and what she said about Black people meaning, of course, Wikileaks. (I know, I know, Podesta emails, Clinton campaign members but I cannot bear to enlighten them since they are not interested anyway.)

Others simply will not mention her name. My son's mother-in-law, a die-hard Hillary supporter is so confused is now always on the run when I call or see her but she has been spending hours on end pouring through Podesta emails on Wikileaks with CNN running in the background.

So far, the only people of whom I am aware voting are older than 50. I do know of a few young women voting but they’re politically brain dead and hypocrites in that they excuse Bill Clinton for rape and refusing to acknowledge his alleged Black son while attacking Trump for salacious unproven attacks and demanding that Black fathers step up.

All of women are holdovers of the long dead feminist movement.

Aside from them everyone else will never vote again in their lives thank to Barack Obama.

All of the above covers folks I know in New York State, the east end of Virginia, North and South Carolina and Florida and their friends. All are Black Americans and "legal" immigrants.

Finally, the cesspool of Communists here is New York City with either vote for Hillary Clinton or Jill Stein. Non-crony capitalists, Donald Trump but their friends will never know.

The bottom line is that only 23% of New York City voted in the 2014 election, I do not expect that to change.

JoshuaPundit: This is an election like no other, because it is to all intents and purposes a rebellion against a self-appointed elite. Terms like 'liberal' and 'conservative' lost all meaning a long time ago, and to be sure we see self labeled 'conservatives' essentially lined up for the status quo and Mrs. Clinton, and a number of sane Democrats lined up behind Trump. We are divided - deliberately so - like no time in our history since the Civil War. In someways, the 1860 election was a last chance to try and use the democratic process to preserve the union in some fashion. From my viewpoint as a lover of history, I find what might come after the election to be more interesting than the beast itself! But of course, it's more than that, isn't it?

In many ways I see this as a battle for America's soul. I see it as a spiritual test of whom we are and what we would become as apposed to what we have become, if you get my drift. Because what we have become has come a long way from the nation that chose 'In G-d We Trust' as its motto.

G-d would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for ten righteous men. I think America has a lot more of those, and we're about to find out how many. Will G-d punish us with evil, corrupt leadership or will he exercise His divine compassion and give America a chance at redemption?

According to the Torah, the Hebrews, having been exposed to the Egyptians were at a very low spiritual level themselves when they were fact, had that redemption been delayed much longer, it would not have been possible. As it was, only 20% of the Hebrews went with Moses to freedom even though they had seen G-d's miracles before their own eyes. The others stayed behind and disappeared from history as slaves.

We can only hope that our nation's spiritual level has not sunk to the point where it cannot be redeemed. I don't think it has. We'll see.

That's the thing, y'know about our divinely given free will. G-d already knows what will happen but will always give us the opportunity to endorse His divine plan and earn His compassion, and perhaps to even change His decree.

Oh, but you want predictions, not this stuff. OK then. Let's start with the easy stuff. I think the Republicans keep the house, although there may be a few new faces. Rat Ryan, for instance, may not be going back to DC, at least not as a congressman. I see the senate ending up with the GOP holding its majority. At worst it will be 51-49, and that's assuming Rubio, Pat Toomey, and Ron Johnson all lose their seats in what would be a large Hillary victory. I think the actual number will be 53-47 with Toomey and Mark Kirk losing their seats and Joe Heck picking up Reid's seat.

The presidential race?I don't think Comey's last minute flip flop changed much. People have already made up their minds for the most part about whether Mrs. Clinton is a felon or not. I mean, this was someone who had her maid, who had no security clearance printing out classified and Top Secret documents for her!

Only a fool would actually try and call this one, especially given the amount of voter fraud the Dems will throw up. And I'd advise people to read my take on what to watch for and what to ignore on the big day. But here's how I see it.

If Trump can win the usual red states plus Iowa, North Carolina, Florida,New Hampshire, Maine's 2nd congressional district and Ohio, all of which he leads in right now , he's at 270 while still losing Pennsylvania and Colorado (both true tossups) as well as Virginia, Wisconsin and Michigan. If fhe loses Florida, he would need to take Pennsylvania and Colorado to win.

For Hillary to win, she'd have to take Florida, Colorado and Pennsylvania.

The Glittering Eye : Hillary Clinton will win with 272 electoral votes to Donald Trump's 266. She may lose the popular vote.

In the Senate, the Democrats will pick up seats in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin for a total of 51 seats, the narrowest of majorities.

They pick up a few seats in the House but the Republicans will hold on to their majority there.

What I wish would happen is that somebody other than Clinton and Trump would carry enough states to throw the election into the House where either Gary Johnson or, weirdly, Mitt Romney is elected (look it up--that's the longshot McMullin scenario). But I have no illusions that will actually happen.

I'm starting to worry about armed insurrection.

Virginia Right! : Hillary's poll numbers are falling faster than Bill's trousers in an Arkansas trailer court.

Stately McDaniel Manor:Predictions, eh? Very well. New Coke will not be making a comeback. Mother Theresa’s condition is not expected to change. Teddy Kennedy is still a traitor and 500 times the aggressive, drunken, obnoxious woman abuser Donald Trump could possibly imagine in his wildest dreams. The market for pantygloves remains unexplored for some bold, young entrepreneur, and one of these days, progressives are going to push Americans too far and discover they don’t have the skill or courage to back their rhetoric.

Now, as to the election: on one hand, we see the Dems panicking, with Hillary spending time and money in states they thought she had all sewn up long ago. Obviously, their internal polling is telling them some distressing things. However, some media organs have gone mostly silent, or are beginning to speak of things looking up for Trump, which might mean he’s doing far better than they’re reporting.

It’s a mess. I’ve no doubt Democrats will be cheating all over the country in every way they can. After all, George Bush won the election by a bit over 500 votes in a single state. Each and every vote counts. If every Republican, independent, and crossover Democrat ignores the media and votes, Trump will be the winner, by around 2% of the vote. If not, America is going to experience a very rapid and bumpy decline with Hillary Clinton cackling all the way to the bottom.

The Senate will remain, narrowly, Republican, and the House will remain Republican as well.

Fausta's Blog :I'm so tired of politics I proclaimed this weekend Dmitri Hvorostrosky YouTube weekend.

Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason : If there is justice in the universe Donald Trump would win in a landslide. How anyone as obviously corrupt and scandal plagued as Hillary Clinton could have received the Democrat party’s nomination proves how invested they are in continuing the Clinton and Obama legacy. She has been planning to be president for most if not all of her adult life. They are all part of the global communist agenda.

The polls suggest Hillary is leading or the race is too close to call. However, the enthusiasm of their crowds seems to tell a different story. Trump attracts thousands of supporters everywhere he goes while Hillary has to coerce people to come to her rallies by giving away free tickets and appearing with the likes of Beyonce and Jay-Z and Katy Perry. Her pandering to the youth and black voters is obvious and her self-interest painfully apparent.

We know voter fraud is real and they are targeting specific critical areas to win the election. On one of the Sunday morning talk shows Chris Matthews spoke of the ground game Hillary has in place and how they are paying two hundred dollars to people to go to their neighbor’s homes and take them to the polls to vote for her. This is what they have always done and why people living in the inner cities continue to vote Democrat.

I think the election will be too close to call on Tuesday evening. I do believe Trump will win my state of Florida and Marco Rubio will win his senatorial reelection bid. Whatever the outcome of the presidential election, half of the population will be unhappy. This election has divided us more than any I have experienced; along party, race, class, and ideological lines.

The Republican and Democrat parties only seek to retain or regain power. It is the conservatives within the Republican Party, or the Independents for that matter, who vote for the principles, for the rule of law and who respect our Constitution.

As of this writing we have now heard FBI Director Comey state he stands where he did in July and will not pursue the case against Clinton and her negligent handling of top secret and classified emails or her use of a private email server. Our justice system is playing political games with this election and has caused even more division and uncertainty. When we cannot be assured the rule of law will be applied in the same manner to each and every individual we no longer have a lawful society. If Hillary Clinton becomes president this is what we have to look forward to in America; more uncertainty, division, and lawlessness. I believe I, like most Americans, have been subjected to the scandals and corruption of the Clintons for too many decades. They are like dysfunctional family members exposing us to the drama of their personal lives. Haven’t we all had enough of this Clinton fatigue?

Donald Trump promises to restore the rule of law to America and to consider we the people first when making decisions that affect our jobs and our lives. We know from Biblical and historical accounts that God has worked through men more fallible and yes, vulgar and crude, than Donald Trump. I am praying for a Trump victory. Because in the end it’s not about the man, it’s about our country.

The Trial Over The Fake UVA Rape Story Shows How Low Journalism's Sunk

Here's a sign of the times for you.

Remember the Rolling Stone story about the gang rape of 'Jackie' at the University of Virginia with its graphic depiction of a horrific assault by white frat boys?

When the story erupted, with it's bathetic portrayal of 'victim' Jackie Coakley, the brutal frat boy rapists and a cold, uncaring college bureaucracy, it went viral and the usual suspects just ate it up. There were plenty of media figures who paid their rent with hysterical commentary echoing the central plot of writer Sabrina Rubin Erdely's little semi-porn fiction- that white frat boys were de facto misogynists, rapists and ogres reeking of male privilege, who had be stopped hard if tender coeds like Jackie were to be safe walking to their gender studies classes.

One who swallowed this swill whole without any direct evidence other than Rolling Stone's story was male Bashing Leftist cadre and U of VA President Teresa Sullivan.

She closed down every fraternity and sorority on the campus. And as the Leftist megaphone trumpeted it across America, innocent male students were publicly shamed and maligned, and fraternity houses, including the one where the rape supposedly took place were vandalized, all while Ms. Sullivan and her counterparts at universities across the country preened and posed for the press.

And then the bubble burst. The sort of details even a novice reporter would have known to check out before running a story like this suddenly came to light as being blatantly false. There was no party at the Phi Kappa Psi house the night Jackie claimed the incident took place, the picture of her alleged 'date' who took her there turned out to be an old high school boyfriend going to another school out of state she hadn't seen in years, no one in the fraternity matched the name or description of her 'rapists' and she even had the details of the interior of the frat house wrong. Moreover, as the story continued to unravel, Jackie Coakley was revealed as an attention seeker who had played this game before. Finally, Rolling Stone was forced to retract the story long after everyone knew it was bogus.

Jan Wenner, Rolling Stone's publisher put out a glib apology, but apparently that didn't do it for a number of people had been defamed and maligned by this hoax. One of them was former UVA dean Nicole Eramo, who was responsible for managing sexual violence cases at the time the article was published.

She was portrayed in the piece as cold, callous and uncaring towards Jackie, which is actually the opposite of what really occurred. Eramo spent considerable time counseling her and even set up a meeting with police detectives to help find and charge her attackers. Surprise, surprise, Jackie never showed at the meeting and refused to cooperate with the police at all.

Thanks to the article's portrayal of Ms. Eramo, she was subject to near ostracizing by a number of her colleagues, major stress at her job and finally had to resign. So she sued Rolling Stone and writer Sabrina Rubin Erdely for damages due to the defamation of her character.

Rolling's Stone's defense was that the magazine had not acted with actual malice towards Eramo.

But Tom Clare, one of the lawyers representing Eramo proved in court something that was pretty well known, that Erdeley and Rolling Stone had a totally preconceived story line before the bogus article was even written...a sympathetic sounding co-ed rape victim, white frat boy rapists and a portrait of a university bureaucracy as cold and uncaring. What Erdely and Rolling Stone were after was not a story, but details to flesh out a script. The perpetrators had to be white frat boys, preferably at a Southern university. As Clare said in his closing statement, his client was “collateral damage in a quest for sensational journalism.”

The jury agreed. Both Rolling Stone and Sabrina Rubin Erdely were found guilty of defaming Nicole Eramo's character and reputation.

The case will continue this week when the jury enters the penalty phase of the trial. They will also hear additional evidence from Eramo and her lawyers concerning how the article affected her. Eramo originally asked for $7.5 million but the court can reduce or increase the amount. And it doesn't end here. Some of the UVA students are suing as well.

Rolling Stone and Erdely richly deserve what they get. They've been pulling this kind of crap for years. But the shame of this entire sorry mess is that the one person who orchestrated the whole thing and caused pain and suffering to a good many people got off free and clear, and is probably still reveling in all the attention she got. I'm speaking, of course, of a certain pathological liar named Jackie Coakley.

Pity, but time has way of evening the score.

The real point of this,of course is a grim portrait of what low, disreputable level journalism has sunk to. The current election, with actual collusion between much of the media and the Clinton campaign has done major damage to our Republic. Yes, they've been scripting stories too, but have yet to be punished because most of their fellow travelers on the Left of course refuse to out them.

When it comes to the press, no one appears to guarding the guardians anymore. And that is definitely not a healthy place to be. Rolling Stone caught popped for this, but they're the exception to what appears to be the rule now.

What To Expect Between Now And Election Day

Image result for donkey versus elephant

With just under a week to go until the election, I think it's a good time to assess where we are and what to expect.

Caveat: This analysis does not figure in possible unexpected 'black swan' events! As we've seen, literally anything can happen!

As I and others predicted, as we get closer to election day the public polling were going to tighten up considerably. This is no accident. The stuff showing Hillary Clinton 12 points plus ahead was always bogus and a political tactic to try and dampen enthusiasm and turnout for Trump. Having seen the rabid crowds Trump was drawing at his rallies and even more important, hearing what people were actually saying on the street it was obvious that tried and true tactic wasn't working this time out.

At this point the media commissioned public polls are merely trying to retain a scrap of credibility for next time by reflecting far more accurate numbers. It's interesting that polls like the L.A Times/USC and Investor's Business Daily that always showed Clinton and Trump fairly close together and even showed Trump ahead at times. They  haven't changed anything like the degree of most of the others  to show this 'tightening' effect.I'll mention some polling in this analysis just for giggles. but here's an excellent rule to follow this week:

Bottom line, ignore the polls, and that especially applies to exit polls and calls by the networks on Election Day.

Rest assured they will be skewed, both deliberately and simply because a lot of people will have very good reasons to keep their choice private given the bullying Hillary's supporters exhibit at every opportunity. Even putting a Trump sticker on your car is asking it to be vandalized and maybe worse. It's how the Left operates.

Believe nothing in terms of results until it's all over. And to be frank, perhaps not even then...

So. who's going to win?

It's impossible to say with certainty because this is not going to be an honest election. Evidence of blatant voter fraud has already been found in Texas, Indiana, Colorado and Florida, and it will certainly occur in California, Philadelphia and Detroit.

But there are several key items that will decide how the election is going to go:

  • Yes, there's going to be voter fraud. But Donald Trump has brought a number of people back into the game who haven't voted for years out of sheer disgust. Added to those numbers, we have over three and a half million self-declared Republicans sat 2012 out because they were not going to vote for yet another GOP product in Mitt Romney. If a substantial number of these two groups are going to show up at the polls, it's likely to out weigh the voter fraud numbers in some states. Three states in particular come to mind; Pennsylvania, Michigan and Colorado. If Trump flips any of them, (and in Colorado and Pennsylvania, things are pretty much all tied up, with Clinton's slight lead in the Keystone State well within the margin of error) it will be a good night for Trump. As with much of life, it depends on who shows up and whether there are enough of these unknown Trump supporters to offset the fraudulent votes. For voter fraud to successfully swing things, it has to be close so we'll see.

  • What happens with Black America and how they vote.  Donald Trump has done something the GOP should have done years ago, actually going to the black community and directly addressing their problems, hopes and aspirations. Romney and McCain, unintentionally perhaps, insulted a decent amount of potential supporters by not only failing to do this but ignoring them completely in 2008 and 2012.

The Donald isn't ignoring them, he's actively courting them and talking about real problems and real solutions to people who bear the brunt of having to live with the effects of decisions made by the cabal in DC. How much of an effect this is going to have is impossible to guess, but all indications are that Trump will get more black support than any GOP presidential candidate in years. Yes, the majority of black voters will still vote to stay on the Democrat Plantation. But for the most part they're not all that excited with Hillary, who isn't offering them anything but the dysfunctional status quo. So black turnout for Hillary is probably going to be lower than it was in 2012, while Trump's black supporters are a lot more likely to turn out and vote, just like most Trump supporters. It's impossible to predict accurately but it might be enough to offset some of the voter fraud. I wouldn't be surprised to see Donald Trump getting between 20-30% of the black vote this year. If that number is somewhere between 25-30%, especially in the battleground states, I think we end up calling the Donald Mr. President.
  • Another variable is how high the 'shy Trump supporter' numbers really are. As I mentioned, a lot of Trump's supporters are off the grid poll-wise because they aren't 'likely voters.' They haven't seen anyone for awhile they actually wanted to vote for until now. And the numbers of even a lot of the ones on the grid can't be reliably estimated. Nor will they on Election Day in the exit votes. If some bozo with a microphone got in my way and asked me how I voted, my response would be limited to 'get lost' along with a descriptive noun. Ditto when it comes to pollsters calling on the phone. I'm going to tell someone who has my name, phone number and probably my address how I'm voting? That has to be even more true for this election than usual if you're black, Hispanic, female, gay, or live in some terminally Blue State.

  • And finally, the #NeverTrumper effect. There's polling evidence that a number of #NeverTrumpers have been having second thoughts as the election gets closer and they actually begin to smell what a Clinton Presidency is likely to be like. Even Rat Ryan finally succumbed and admitted he had voted for Trump as it became obvious that he was in serious danger of losing his seat, and I expect to see some similar conversions-or at least lip service - in the coming days. In more than a few states a defection of some Gary Johnson supporters would put Trump well ahead of Hillary in some surprising places. How many actual votes Trump might get (and Hillary might get from Jill Green)are another variable.

Donald Trump has managed to get this far while fighting off the Democrats, their blatantly partisan media, and the Republican establishment of his own party while being outspent 50-1. If he wins, it will be one of the biggest political upsets in history.

But then Trump is not your typical candidate in any sense, the majority of the electorate is in an angry, ugly mood and insurgency is in the air. And to paraphrase Michael Moore, it would be the biggest 'up yours' to our self-appointed Ruling Class ever, a class the American people increasingly see Hillary as representing.  I wouldn't underestimate these sentiments.
We'll know how all this plays out in about a week.
