The EU Is At War With Israel

It's official. For all intents and purposes, the EU is at war with Israel. Some of the members, particularly in Eastern and central Europe aren't participating, but most of the EU is.

It isn't a shooting war, but an increasing effort to marginalize the Jewish State so it can be destroyed..

The EU supports anti-Israel NGOs financially, and continues to fund the PLO even though it uses much of those funds to pay terrorists for murdering Israeli civilians, even though that financial support frees up funds to be used in what the PLO refers to as 'operations.'

Only Israel has fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers specially labeled as being from 'the Occupied West Bank.'

Led by Angela Merkel and Frances Emanuel Macron, the EU has consistently evaded U.S. sanctions against Iran and continued to observe the farcical Iran 'deal' of Barack Hussein Obama. The EU has done this even though Iran has been quite clear of its genocidal intentions towards Israel.

And it was none other than Germany's Angela Merkel who pressured Eastern and Central European countries with good relationships with Israel not to relocate their embassies in Jerusalem or face her wrath.

The founding director of the European Coalition for Israel in Brussels, Tomas Sandell, reported that  that the  German Chancellor  waged a strenuous campaign to stop central and eastern European countries from moving their capitals to Jerusalem..

“I have spoken to many Germans these last few days in Brussels,” he said. “They are not aware of this, and all of them would be shocked that all of the countries in the European Union today would want to block an embassy move to Jerusalem, not only for your own country, but for other countries that have the conviction [that] this is the right thing to do, the only country to do would be Germany. This is a big shock.”

According to Sandell, most of  Merkel’s calls to put the squeeze on European leaders happened when “many of the nations were seriously considering moving their embassies.”

This isn't a shock to me at all,but let's continue.

Germany also implemented  the marking of Israeli goods from 'disputed territories' in 2015. Not only did Germany start the labeling, but Merkel used her influence to get other Eu nations to do the same. The idea, of course is to further isolate Israel as an 'occupying power.'

As recently as a few days ago, the EU showed that it had chosen sides against Israel. When American U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley tried to discuss aspects of President Trump's proposed peace plan, they essentially brushed it off. Let's look at their official statement and then dissect what it really means.

After the usual horse manure about a 'just peace 'based on international law, relevant UN resolutions and previous agreements', here's what they said:

"The EU is truly convinced that the achievement of a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital of both States, that meets Israeli and Palestinian security needs and Palestinian aspirations for statehood and sovereignty, ends the occupation and resolves all final status issues, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2334 and previous agreements, is the only viable and realistic way to end the conflict and to achieve just and lasting peace."

Let's translate this, shall we?

 http://conservativepost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/obama_noisrael.jpg

Resolution 2334 is the one former President Barack Hussein Obama engineered when the Security Council had a majority of anti-Israel countries on it and then made sure the US abstained so it would pass, his final hateful attack on Israel. Here's what it stipulated, and it's an  'anti-zionist' wet dream.

First of all, it negates every Israeli community as illegal outside the pre-1967 lines and gives East Jerusalem to the PLO. This creates 580,000 homeless Israeli refugees, bars them forever from all their holy sites, and puts all of Israel's central plain and its airports in easy missile and mortar by giving Israel's sworn enemies the high ground.

Not only that, it also  takes away any notion of security from what's left of Jerusalem that the resolution is willing to leave to Israel. The Israelis themselves had previous experience with this in 1967, when Jordan's King Hussein announced his entry into the war by shelling civilians and having snipers fire on West Jerusalem

Even worse, there would be nothing to stop Iran from supplying deadlier and deadlier missiles and arms to both the PLO and Hamas. With the Jordan Valley out of Israeli control, there would be nothing to stop Iran from moving troops, missile launchers and armor  to Israel's new borders.

Essentially, what the EU was saying to Ambassador Haley is that they weren't going to support President Trump's plan whatever it was, that Israel should be moved to indefensible borders, and that its enemies should have every strategic advantage so they can finally destroy it.

2334 also  violates the Oslo Accords and the Road Map, agreements the U.S. was a signatory to that stated unequivocally that any settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority could only be achieved through direct negations between the two parties.

And then of course, there's that notion of 'occupation.' That term has always been used to describe one country forcibly invading and taking control of another country's sovereign territory. And sovereign territory means land inside another established country's recognized borders, like Saddam Hussein occupying Kuwait or the US occupying Germany or Japan.

So we have to ask the question...which country's sovereign territory is Israel 'occupying?'

It can't be Jordan. Yes, Jordan illegally occupied Judea, Samaria (AKA The West Bank) and East Jerusalem in the 1948 war for 19 years after ethnically cleansing the Jewish population in this area,  but the UN never recognized these areas as Jordanian territory, Israel took it back in the Six Day war after Jordan attacked them and Jordan later gave up all claims to this area as part of their peace treaty with Israel. So it isn't Jordan Israel's occupying.

And it can't be 'Palestine' either. It never existed as a sovereign nation with established borders at all. Owning a house in say, Pennsylvania does not make it and maybe your yard a sovereign country, now does it?

So there really is no 'occupation.' According to the San Remo Accords between the League of Nations (the UN of its day) and Britain in 1922, the 22% of the Palestine Mandate that includes Judea and Samaria and what is now Israel was supposed to be the Jewish State, while the 78% of it that's now Jordan was supposed to be the Arab State. It's the only partition of the area both sides ever agreed on, and it was reaffirmed in Article 80 of the UN Charter.

What the EU and their pals at the UN are doing is pretty simple to figure out. They're simply doing what  Mark Twain predicted they would back in 1899 when the  Zionist movement was  beginning. Here's what he had to say  in a famous article on Jews he did in Harper's Magazine:

I am not objecting; but if that concentration of the cunningest brains in the world were going to be made in a free country (bar Scotland), I think it would be politic to stop it. It will not be well to let the race find out its strength. If the horses knew theirs, we should not ride any more.

Want further proof of how the EU has it in for Israel? The recent attempt to simply pass a resolution  condemning unprovoked terrorism  by Hamas against Israel in the UN General Assembly failed dismally once Israel's enemies in the UN insisted on a two thirds majority instead of the simple majority Ambassador Haley wanted.

You know what did pass? A resolution sponsored by Ireland calling for 'the achievement, without delay”  of the implementing  of U.N. resolution 2334.

Since 2334 was a series 6 Resolution that has no status as international law,  Israel promptly rejected it, as any country not interested in national suicide would. But thanks to Barack Hussein Obama, it remains a framework for countries that want Israel gone.

And make no mistake,it definitely is about the Jews. Much of what constitutes the EU will never forgive them for Auschwitz. Or for being so successful in a region noted for failed states.

Catalonia: What The Media's Not Telling You

The world, and especially the EU was shocked at the brutality the Spanish government used in an attempt to suppress a referendum on Catalonian independence. The paramilitary Guardia Civil was particularly brutal as they invaded polling places. Over 800 people were reported injured as well as a dozen of so Guardia:

Catalonia is the extreme northeast of Spain. It consists of four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona. The capital and largest city is Barcelona.

https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Adela_Castello/publication/233998825/figure/fig1/AS:202626361761806@1425321297796/Map-of-Spain-with-Catalonia-red-and-Valencia-blue-highlighted.png

Catalonia was originally an independent principality with its own language and culture. That ended after the War of Spanish Secession in 1714, when Catalonia picked the wrong horse, Spain was essentially united by the Bourbon Philip V of Spain and Catalan was replaced on all legal documents with Castilian Spanish.

But Catalonia has remained something of a separate part of Spain, with a unique culture. During the Spanish Civil War, Catalonia, which had socialist movements as an important part of its politics dating back to the mid 19th century sided with the Republic against Franco, which again led to a certain amount of repression when Franco won, including abolishing Catalan institutions and banning the official use of the Catalan language again. Things eased up in the latter part of Franco's rule, and considerably more after Franco died in 1975.

The current independence movement started in 2014, and the current referendum proceeded as planned by Catalonia's regional government even after Spain's courts declared that the referendum was illegal. Proponents of Catalonia's independence say they won, while Spain says otherwise since in their point of view the entire referendum was illegal.

While many people now want to see Catalonia gain its independence (and the Catalonian independence movement wants to join the EU as a separate, independent country) there's an interesting detail that no one's mentioning, and it definitely figures in.

Catalonia has always trended a lot more to the Left than the rest of Spain. And it is slowly but surely in the process of Islamization, aided and abetted by its regional government.   For more than a decade the Muslim population of Catalonia has been rapidly growing, because Catalonia's politicians have made it a prime destination for Muslim migrants and 'refugees.' A large part of the population, now well over 7% of Catalonia, has become radicalized (or already were) and are calling for the establishment of a Muslim state in what they still refer to by the name of their former conquest, as 'al-Andaluz.'

The Islamization was deliberately started and encouraged by the Catalonian separatist movement.

The central person of the Catalan independence movement is Jordi Pujol, who was  from 1980 to 2003 the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, literally the governor of Catalonia. Aside from being indicted along with members of his family for massive corruption and money laundering, Pujol and his cronies decided that Islamic migration was the solution to Catalonia's low birth rate and their plans for an independent Catalonia.

The separatists hoped to get lots of of cheap labor forces  which they could win over as Catalonian nationalists for the separatist movement. And they also figured that these new migrants would be taught to be Catalan speakers. After all, a worker, who could only speak Catalan and Arabic and was dependent on social benefits would hardly be able to leave Catalonia.

So the Muslim population grew to more than 500,000 and even more, when you  take the amount of illegal migration into consideration. In 2012, the second most common name in the province of Girona was Mohammed. In the region of Segarra (Lérida), 55% of the children born in 2014 had foreign mothers. Salt (Girona) has become a major center of Salafis and Islamists:

Besides Salt, other towns too became centers of Salafist Islam in Spain. The movement has its seat in Tarragona, but has important branches in Badalona, Calafell, Cunit, El Vendrel, Gerona, Lleida, Mataró, Reus, Roda de Bara, Rubí, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Boi, Torredembarra, Valls, Vic and Vilanova. Barcelona alone has 5 Salafist mosques. Just like elsewhere, the Salafists in Catalonia preach that the Sharia law is above Spanish law, they push the development of Muslim parallel societies, and have established sharia courts and morality police  that enforce the adherence to Islamic rules.

Catalonia's seperatists made the same mistake Angela Merkel made. They never figured on Islam taking them over instead of integrating peacefully. Catalonia  is now one of  the most important Mediterranean centers of radical Islamists. And potentially a base in Europe for the takeover and expaniasion of Islamism into places like Spain, southern France and Italy.

The EU is likely to even encourage this scenario by extending EU membership and financial incentives to  a newly independent Catalonia in exchange for using it  as a dumping ground for the Muslim migrants and refugees countries like  Denmark, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland are refusing to take. And for the surplus Muslim migrants Germany and France want to rid themselves of.

Of course the catch for that brilliant plan is that these Muslims are unlikely to be content with retaking Catalonia, or even all of Spain. They will expand north, just as they did in the 14th century.

When you take these facts into consideration and consider Spain's own history with Islam, the idea of an independent Catalonia takes on a very different aroma.

The EU, Jews And Hypocrisy

There's been a lot of talk by the EU's press and certain politicians about 'Nazis' during the recent EU elections, the rise of what's referred to as the anti-semitic right and how dangerous it is for EU Jews. And of course. the politicians now in power pledge to fight anti-semitism.

Let's see how that works in real life, shall we?

Yesterday in the Israeli town of Har Adar just northwest of Jerusalem, one of the Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians murdered three Jews in cold blood and critically wounded another in a shooting attack.

From left to right: Solomon Gavriyah, Youssef Ottman and Or Arish, three Israelis killed in a terror attack outside the settlement of Har Adar on September 26, 2017 (Courtesy)

Nimer Mahmoud Ahmed Aljamahad been given a job in Har Adar (so much for ideas of promoting peace by bolstering 'Palestinian' economy) and had an Israeli work permit, so he had access to the town. He simply brought his gun to work and shot the Israelis in the back from ambush. He was then shot and killed by security forces in the town.

United Hatzalah is a something of a unique organization in Israel and in some Jewish communities in the Diaspora as it mostly consists of volunteer emergency first responders. One of them, Moshir Abu Katish, from the Israeli-Arab town of Abu Ghosh, described the scene of the attack.

"I was alerted to the attack by the United Hatzalah dispatch center and I raced over to the scene [of the attack], which took place near the fence of Har Adar. Security forces had shot and killed the terrorist who had carried out a shooting attack against a group of Israelis who live in Har Adar.”

" Unfortunately, the three more seriously injured people in the attack were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth person who was injured we treated at the scene before he was transported to the hospital for further treatment and observation."

Hamas, of course took credit fo rthe attack and celebrated this latest 'martyr.' So did Fatah, Mahmoud Abbas's party who runs the Palestinian Authority, the people Israel is expected to make peace with.

This is from Fatah's official Facebook page, which of course Facebook would never think of censoring or removing. It's a picture of the killer, Nimer Mahmoud Ahmed Aljamahad. The caption reads: "In the name of the Fatah movement, we share the sorrow of the family of the shaheed (holy martyr) Nimer Mahmoud Ahmed Aljamal who was killed in the operation today."

Fatah also wrote: "He who carried out the operation in Jerusalem is shaheed Nimr Mahmoud Ahmed Aljam"

The PA Ministry of Health claimed - wait for it - that Aljamal died because he was shot by 'occupation forces' of course not mentioning that he had murdered three Israelies. Needless to say, Aljamahad's family will now go on Mahmoud Abbas's payroll with a nice monthly stipend courtesy of all that donor aid money.

But now, let's looks at the reaction from the U.S and especially from the EU.

President Trump's Special envoy Jason Greenblatt condemned the deadly terrorist attack and criticized Hamas for praising it.

"My family & I are horrified by the attack in Har Adar. Shame on Hamas and others who praised the attack. All must stand against terror!" Greenblatt tweeted.

"We pray for the victims of today's attack at Har Adar, and their loved ones as well," he added.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman also condemned the attack, calling the shooting a “cruel” and “evil brutality” and an act of “unprovoked terrorism”.

“Once again, Israelis confront the cruel and evil brutality of unprovoked terrorism,” Friedman wrote on Twitter. “We pray for the victims at Har Adar and their families.”

The EU also formally condemned the attack.

“There can be no justification for such a crime and attempts by Hamas to glorify the attack are reprehensible. Violence and terror will only achieve more loss and pain and must stop,” said a statement from the EU spokesperson.

“The European Union offers its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the shootings,” the statement added.

You'll notice that the EU condemnation doesn't mention Abbas and Fatah. In fact the only one who mentioned Hamas and alluded to 'others' without naming names was Greenblatt.

And now we get to the real meat of the story.

You see, Hamas and Fatah are in the process of coming to an agreement about putting a unity government in power, thanks to the aid shutdown to Gaza Abbas and Fatah were able to engineer among the donor nations. Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and other PA ministers announced a plan to take administrative control over Gaza, and Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas' political leader, said Hamas was willing to cede control to the PA provided Abbas responds with what Haniyeh called 'practical steps.' Haniyeh is talking about Hamas retaining control of the Hamas police force (and of course, its military), retaining exclusive authority over the border crossings, and of course, an increased share of donor money. In other words, Hamas would retain practical control over Gaza using the western-backed Abbas as a shield and a cover for its activities.

Remember that Hamas is an officially designated terrorist group in both the EU and U.S. who just condemned their activities so heartily.

And here's the punchline...both the UN and EU have specifically offered help and assistance in putting these two terrorist groups together, as well as continuing to fund and empower them.

Which means you can take that 'condemnation' and flush it in the toilet for all it's worth in real terms. Apparently Hamas isn't so reprehensible to the EU after all.

Yes there's a lot of talk in the EU's media and from politicians like France's Macron and Germany's Merkel about the rise of the right and the danger to Europe's Jews. Some Jews are even gullible enough to swallow it. But here we see the reality of these same EU politicians ready, willing and able to help genocidal terrorist groups unify against Israel. And oddly enough for their supposed concern for Jews, conditions for the Jews in their countries continue to deteriorate, thanks to all the Muslims these politicians happily imported to their countries from the most anti-semitic countries on earth.

What a coincidence.

Say what you want. I certainly wouldn't imagine AFD, the Swedish Democrats, Geert Wilder's Partij voor de Vrijheid (Party For freedom) or Marine Le Pen's Front National sending money to these terrorist murderers. Or importing more of those Muslim 'refugees' who have made Jewish life in Western Europe so hellish.

No it's the Eu bureaucrats on the Left, the ones in power that do that sort of thing. They've conveniently forgotten that the Jews are just the canary in the coal mine, and figure that if they can just give the Muslims the Jews and lean hard enough on Israel, they'll have peace. But of course, it won't end there.

It never does.

When it comes to the EU, Jews and hypocrisy there are simply no limits.

President Trump In Poland 'The West WIll Not be Broken'

http://media.breitbart.com/media/2017/07/donald-trump-Poland-REUTERSKacper-Pempel-640x480.jpg

President Trump received a warm and enthusiastic welcome when he spoke spoke in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd at Krasinski Square at the Royal Castle in Warsaw at the foot of a statue commemorating the 1944 Polish uprising against German occupiers. He and first lady Melania Trump laid a wreath at its base.

The Polish crowd greeted President Trump with the sort of warmth and enthusiasm the president gets at his rallies, with repeated chants of 'Donald Trump' and 'USA!'

And what President Trump had to say to them was almost Churchillian:

Here's a brief excerpt:

"Each generation must rise up and play their part in [their culture's] defense. Every foot of ground and every last inch of civilization is worth defending with your life.

Our own fight for the West does not begin on the battlefield, it begins with our minds, our wills, and our souls. Today, the ties that unite our civilization are no less vital and demand no less defense than that bare shred of land on which the hope of Poland once totally rested.

Our freedom, our civilization, and our survival depend on these bonds of history, culture, and memory, and today as ever Poland is in our heart and its people are in that fight.

Just as Poland could not be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the West will never, ever, be broken. Our values will prevail. Our people will thrive. And our civilization will triumph."

Trump's words had particular impact in this time and place. Poland has always been in the forefront of defending the West, whether is was the Mongols, the Ottoman hordes, the Nazis or the Soviets. The monument in Krasinski Square commemorates a heroic Polish uprising against the Nazis in 1944 that saw something like 200,000 people murdered, almost all of them civilians and Warsaw razed to the ground.

And Poland, since its liberation from the Evil Empire has always been a firm U.S. ally, even sending its soldiers to fight at our side in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their reward, of course, was to be betrayed by Barack Hussein Obama and denied them the anti-missile protection they were promised. To add insult to injury, President Obama's announcement came on September 17th, the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's invasion of eastern Poland during World War II in collaboration with the Nazis.

When Polish President Polish president Lech Kaczynski, his wife Maria, Solidarity leader Anna Walentynowicz,Poland's National Bank President Slawomir Skrzypek, Army chief of staff General Franciszek Gagor were killed in a tragic and somewhat mysterious airplane crash over Russian territory, President Obama almost alone among world leaders declined to attend the funerals.

In another context, Trump's appearance in Poland and at the Three Seas summit* marks a major change in the relationship with what former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld presciently referred to as 'New Europe and the United States. What we're talking about is brand new, stronger ties to the Visograd nations and the Balkan countries.

Aside from the obviously much warmer and friendlier climate with a key ally, President Trump put three very important cards on the table:

  • Poland and very likely Czechoslovakia and other Visograd nations are going to finally be able to purchase U.S. Arms, particularly missiles and missile defense elements. And security cooperation is going to be vastly improved.
  • President Trump reaffirmed his iron clad commitment to Article 5 of the NATO charter, that an attack on one signatory would be considered an attack on all.
  • Poland just received its first shipment of American liquid natural gas. Remember the war between Russia and Georgia? As I pointed out in the story linked above, one big reason for Russia's aggression had nothing to do with South Ossetia but with energy. Russia's biggest 'persuader' when it comes to Europe is the Kremlin's monopoly on the energy export routes to the West from the old parts of its former Soviet empire. The one part the Russians didn't control was the oil and gas pipeline that leads from energy-rich Azerbaijan to Turkey, across Georgia...and it's notable that the Russians bombed it as well as the Georgian port of Poti, neither of which is anywhere near South Ossetia. What President Trump is talking about here is removing a key element of blackmail from Russia's arsenal by all by guaranteeing an alternate supplier to New Europe. And as you'll hear in the joint news conference below, Poland's conservative President Duda has hopes of making Poland a trading corridor for U.S. energy and goods to the rest of the Visograd and Three Seas nations.
  • And finally, President Trump is signalling support for New Europe in defying Germany and Angela Merkel on Muslim migrants and even remaining in the EU itself if it comes to that. A recent poll revealed that 70% of the Poles would rather leave the EU that be bullied into importing the same kind of chaos Germany, France, the UK and Sweden among others have brought into  their countries.

Before the speech, President Trump held a joint press conference early Thursday morning in Warsaw with Polish President Andrzej Duda.(skip ahead to 51:53 for the actual joint press conference)

I particularly like the part where some idiot U.S. 'journalist' tries to once again tries to resurrect  the old story about Russia hacking the election, and wasn't the president going to admit that? After all, hadn't 17 U.S. intelligence agencies all come to the same conclusion?

President Trump's reply was a gem.He patiently explained that maybe Russia was involved, but it might also have been at least five other countries. And he also let her in on the fact that it was only three intelligence agencies  that thought Russia was involved, although there was no real evidence yet. And a lot of what he called her 'compatriots' had already had to apologize and correct their stories. And then he lowered the boom...

"Here's the question I want the answer to. The CIA told president Barack Obama that there was a possibility of Russian hacking in the election back in August.  Now th eelection was in Novemeber. That's a long time, but he never did anything about it. Why? His people say he choked, but I think it was because he was sure Hillary was going to win the election and he didn't want to disturb anything."

The reporter immediately blurted out a follow up again insisting that Trump say that Russia was responsible, so President Trump  calmly repeated his answer.

Now as you'll see in the video, President Duda had told the press beforehand that there would only be four questions because he and President Trump had to be at Krasinski Square for the ceremony, but this woman paid no attention, which didn't exactly make her popular with the other reporters. She said pretty much the same thing again, after which President  Trump and President Duda exchanged a brief, weary smile , President Duda made slight gesture and the harridan's microphone was cut off so the two men could leave for a far more important task.

* The Three Seas summit, convened by the presidents of Poland and Croatia, involves nations situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas and is designed to strengthen trade and economic ties and energy platforms as well as address joint national security. Most of the nations involved have refused to obey German Chancellor Angela Merkel's diktat to open their country's borders to more Muslim 'refugees.' Many of these countries, like Poland have Euroskeptic governments.President Trump's appearance there after his speech was a major coup for the Poles   and  an excellent opportunity for a lot of the leaders of New Europe to meet President Trump forth first time, a vastly different leader than his predecessor.

Now, it's off to the G-20 summit in Germany, where President Trump is, shall we say, far less popular. and of course, a meeting with Russia's Vladimir Putin for the first time.  Alpha male meets Alpha male!

Hungary's PM Viktor Orbán On Freedom; 'Brussels Must be Stopped!'

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is one of the leaders of Europe's anti EU, nationalist movement. Orbán led the Hungarians in defying the EU and not allowing unlimited Muslim 'refugees' into their country. As Viktor Orbán reminds his listeners, Hungary has historical experience on what that sort of thing means at the hands of the Ottoman Turks.

Every year on March 15, Hungarians celebrate the anniversary of their Revolution of 1848, when Hungary fought Austria in an attempt to gain its independence. The Hungarians almost won, but Austria was able to subdue them with help from the Russian Empire. Hungarian autonomy was finally achieved in 1867, when the Austrian Empire became the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Hungary was given equal status.

This is a speech Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán gave on March 15 to honor the revolutionaries of 1848, and to draw parallels with that time and what is happening in Europe today. And while some of the references referred to may not be immediately apparent, this is a speech worth hearing.

The Magyars referred to are the ancient tribe of Hungarians who founded the Kingdom of Hungary after migrating west from the Urals. They remain the predominant element of the population of Hungary today.

Parliament Votes Theresa May The Power to Execute Brexit

http://alexedmans.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Brexit.jpg

Today may end up being a landmark day in Britain's history. The Leftists, EUphiles and globalists did their very best to slow things down with amendments requiring compliance before Brexit could be implemented, but every one of them was solidly voted down by Parliament and PM Theresa May now has the power to execute Brexit, and the authority and a clear path to take Britain out of the EU:

Nine proposals in all, ranging from the rights of EU migrants to the opinions of the Gibraltar Government, were put to the vote, and one by one all nine proposals were thrown out by MPs.
It was a flawless night for Theresa May, as the EU (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill was passed by 494 votes to 122 in its original, unamended form.

Eurosceptic MPs could barely contain their excitement, with one minister saying as he went to vote: "I am about to have the best moment of my life since my wedding night."

(I'll resist the temptation to make the obvious joke here...)

Another unintentionally funny moment occurred when Scottish National Party MPs starting singing the EU anthem, Beethoven's 'Ode To Joy' form his 9th Symphony. That got them rebuked by Lindsay Hoyle, the Deputy Speaker. They deserved it, I'm sure. The singing must have been absolutely awful...imagine Scots trying to sing German lyrics with that accent!

In any event, Britain is now on track to exit the EU. PM May will allow Parliament to vote on her final proposal before submitting it to the EU, but the path is now clear for an expedited Brexit.

Social Media Giants Cave In To Facist EU 'Speech Codes'

https://cdn3.img.sputniknews.com/images/104463/16/1044631659.png

Social giants YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft have cravenly agreed to do their best to enforce EU 'hate speech' diktats on 'extremist content' from their websites, by creating a joint database that will share 'hashes,' their term for digital fingerprints they can automatically assign to so-called extremist content they have removed from their websites. The idea is that this date can be shared to enable the other platforms to ID and eliminate the same content on their platforms.

As we know by now, that 'extremist content' isn't going to include death threats to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump or threats to gang rape his wife, genocidal threats against Israel, jihadist content or racism from groups like #blacklivesmatter. What it will include is any criticism of militant feminism, criticism of Islam, news that isn't flattering to the influx of Muslim 'refugees' and/or mentions any crimes they commit or government policies favoring and enabling them, criticism of the EU or its governments and indeed, a fair amount of anything promoting conservative ideology.

Twitter is doing this already in America, as is FaceBook. Twitter is especially notorious for 'shadow banning,' a secret practice that allows the twitter to think his or her content is being published when in reality it's not visible to anyone else. That way, they can still claim the shadow banned victims as 'users' for selling advertising.

Fittingly, this EU diktat and the threats for non-compliance come predominantly from Germany. Volker Kauder, a senior member of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU) has said openly that social media companies could face fines and criminal prosecution if they failed to comply. (emphasis mine)

"I expect from big companies like Facebook that they adhere to laws. If they are not respected than we must think about new possibilities, fines for example," he said.

Facebook declined immediate comment on his remarks.

Germany is seen as a forerunner when it comes to forcing Facebook to step up efforts to police online hate speech, which has risen here following an influx of almost one million migrants, mainly from the Middle East, last year.

Politicians are also worried about how hate speech and fake news could sway public opinion ahead of elections next year in which Merkel will be running for a fourth term and facing an increasingly popular far right.

Befehl ist befehl ja? So Achtung! Gehorchen oder sonst! *

In today EU, freedom of speech is highly restricted and you can face criminal prosecution for what amounts to legitimate criticism of government policy, especially when it comes to Islam or government policies that bringing in multitudes of unvettable Muslim 'refugees' with the inevitable accompaniments of increased crime, sexual assaults, unrest and increased social welfare costs. You might ask Geert Wilders about that one.

The 'fake news' accusation is ridiculous and applies far more to folks like Der Spiegel, the BBC, MSNBC, The NY Times, The Washington Post, CNN and similar outlets, as we've learned during thois last election and the Brexit controversy.

What the Germans and their EU counterparts want is ot extend that sort of fascism to social media and make it universal. In fact, that's exactly what we would have gotten here in America if Mrs. Clinton had been elected.Trust me on that one.

Given the ideology of the kind of people who run these social media sites, they would have gone along with it totally, the same way they're following orders from the EU. Of course, if they do so, at least in America, alternate platforms will simply spring up, like Gab, a coming substitute for Twitter.

But as far as the current social media giants, forewarned is forearmed. Remember, inside every 'progressive' is a totalitarian screaming to get out.

Brexit - The Triumph Of Freedom Over Tyranny

http://alexedmans.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Brexit.jpg

"This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,-
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England."

https://img.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src=https://img.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_960w/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2016/06/24/Foreign/Images/2016-06-24T064717Z_01_LON903_RTRIDSP_3_BRITAIN-EU.jpg&w=480

Britain has voted on whether to stay in the EU or exit. In spite of the 'leave' campaign being massively outspent, demonized in the press and harangued and threatened by foreign leaders including America's President Obama, the British made their choice and they chose clearly  to leave.

President Obama in particular had a significant effect on the vote. After his speech threatening that if Britain left the EU they  "would go to the back of the queue as far as trade is concerned" and that the special relationship between the U.S. and the UK would be changed, the poll numbers for leave skyrocketed. Nigel Farage, leader of the eurosceptic UK Independence Party (UKip) quipped that Obama's little screed was so helpful to the Brexit camp that he should "come over more often."

 http://media.salon.com/2012/11/obama_sad_jobsreport_rect.jpg

The election itself told a clear story about where Britain is today. England and Wales largely voted for Brexit, with the exception of pockets in large cities like Muslim-dominated Tower Hamlets in London. Northern Ireland voted remain, but that was thanks to majorities in locations closer to Eire, the Irish Republic.

The real giveaway was Scotland, which voted 'remain' by almost two  to one. More on that later, but the United Kingdom isn't really united anymore.

The issues boiled done to this in Britain's case: money, migrants and sovereignty.

Just take a look at this figure: According to the latest UK Treasury figures, the UK's net contribution to the EU for 2014/15 was £8.8bn - nearly double what it was in 2009/10. What they got back in the form of 'rebates'(mostly in the form of regional development grants and payments to farmers) was just £4.6bn in 2014/15. And this amount doesn't take into consideration various taxes and fees levied on a suffering British public, nor the high cost of complying with EU diktats on virtually all aspects of daily living.

Speaking of EU diktats, another significant factor in this election was Mutti Merkal's unilateral decision to open the EU gates to over a million Muslim migrants with more to come. The unelected  EU bureaucrats, believe it or not, actually passed 'legislation' mandating that all EU countries take in a set amount of these Muslim 'refugees' or face a  €300,000  fine per refugee for every one refused entry. That fell through when a number of countries flatly refused to comply, but the very fact that the EU minions felt they had the right to try and impose it did not escape notice. That was especially true in Britain where they already have a significant problem with their existing Muslim population, many of whom are disproportionately on the dole.

Another factor, of course, is the schengen visas, which allow these 'refugees' -or for that matter, migrants from any EU country once they're accepted  as residents - to automatic access to Britain without any formalities or vetting.

And the final reason was not just that the UK is one of the successful nations in the EU whose taxpayers were propping up countries with failed economies like Spain, Greece and Italy among others. It was the increasing strangulation of national sovereignty by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

Behind all this, of course, was an effort to bind Germany to Europe, climaxed with German de facto domination in the name of “European unity.” It's the Germans whom benefit most from the EU scam, since it allows them to value their exports in cheaper euros rather than higher value Deutschmarks. And former East German STASI member Angela Merkel has a first hand knowledge of how such totalitarian control works.

http://hellenicleaders.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Merkel.jpg

It's no accident that Merkel's new proposal in reaction to Brexit involves transforming what's left of the EU into a kind of superstate, where EU countries would have no control over the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, as well as control over their own borders, which means they too will be inundated by Muslim 'refugees.'. All of these factors will be controlled and mandated from Brussels:

The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an “ultimatum”. [...]

The plot has sparked fury and panic in Poland - a traditional ally of Britain in the fight against federalism - after being leaked to Polish news channel TVP Info.

The public broadcaster reports that the bombshell proposal will be presented to a meeting of the Visegrad group of countries - made up of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia - by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier later today.

Excerpts of the nine-page report were published today as the leaders of Germany, France and Italy met in Berlin for Brexit crisis talks.

Given the sentiment in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, I doubt this will be well received. And Britain's exit has sparked calls for referendums in other EU countries, particularly Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Austria as well as the Visograd countries.

The numbers have undoubtedly gone up since this poll was taken prior to Britain voting to leave.

Of course, France's socialist government has refused to hold a referendum since Hollande's government feeds on EU subsidies. But even if the highly unpopular Hollande isn't removed from office before then, he and the Socialists will have to answer to the voters in 2017. And Marine Le Pen's National Front is growing by leaps and bounds.

The same is true in the Netherlands, where Geert Wilders'  Freedom Party (PVV) is likely to double its seats in the Dutch Parliament.

In reaction to Brexit, Wilders said, "We want be in charge of our own country, our own money, our own borders, and our own immigration policy."

“If I become prime minister, there will be a referendum in the Netherlands on leaving the European Union as well. Let the Dutch people decide.”

So, what are the likely effects?

Much is being made of the drop in the British Pound and the stock market. What's hardly being mentioned is that Germany's economy has been hit far worse.

If I had to guess on which countries will hold referendums next, I'd say traditionally eurosceptic Denmark, Finland, where the few refugees they taken in are not working out at all well and the Visograd countries. Both Denmark and Finland have thriving economies and a traditionally independent nature, and the Visograd countries don't want the Muslim refugees. Spain and Greece are also distinct possibilities, since leaving the debtor's prison the Germans have set up for them would allow them to dump the euro and either pay off their debts in far cheaper drachmas and pesetas or default on them entirely. Neither country has a thriving economy anyway and no one is going to lend them any more significant money in the near future, so they have little to lose. Also, both are popular tourist spots and that isn't going to change either, so cheaper currencies would make vacations in those countries a bargain. And what they do produce, mostly agricultural and food products, could be priced very competitively on the markets.

Fortunately, Britain held onto the Pound rather then being sucked into the euro, so after a period of fluctuation, the UK's basically strong economy should survive just fine. Both Norway and Switzerland likewise decided not to join the EU, kept their own currency and negotiated good trade agreements with the EU. Regardless of the bitterness Merkel and others might have, they will have to do the same with the UK or suffer the loss of millions in trade, money the EU or what's left of it is going to need badly.

Another bonus for Britain is that since the Pound has dropped, her exports will be far cheaper and thus more desirable worldwide.
Another change in store is a major change in Britain's politics. Tory PM David Cameron has already said he's resigning as soon as possible, probably by this fall. And his likely successor is none other than London's former Conservative mayor, Boris Johnson, a firm nationalist whom many Brits regard as the UK's Donald Trump.

https://d.ibtimes.co.uk/en/full/1527667/boris-johnson.jpg?w=736&h=444&l=50&t=40&q=80

Johnson campaigned heavily for 'leave' and has become quite popular in the Conservative Party as a result. According to all the polls, he's the odds on favorite to replace David Cameron as head of the party and the UK's Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Britain's far left Labour Party is in major trouble.

Labour's openly anti-semitic, pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah party leader Jeremy Corbyn has already cost Labour many of its traditional supporters. But his ineffective campaign for 'remain' caused most of Labour's shadow cabinet* to resign and for him to fire others who expressed doubts about his leadership. He appears to have no intention of quitting as party leader, which is going to be problematic come the next election.

Another problem Labour has is the probable loss of a major source of votes, Scotland. The majority of votes that used to go Labour are now going to the socialist Scottish National Party (SNP), and post Brexit, Labour is likely to be shut out entirely. Scotland likes those EU subsidies very much, thank you and voted almost two to one to stay in the EU. The SNP will almost certainly push for a new referendum for independence from Britain.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the referendum happens and it passes (it likely will if it's held, in my opinion)and if it does, whether the EU if it still exists would allow it in as a member. Taken by itself, Scotland would be, after all, one of those countries who receives far more from the EU than it contributes.

An independent Scotland would likely doom Labour to minority status for quite some time. with Labour non-competitive and a leader like Boris Johnson in charge, we might very well see a resurgent Britain.

If the Brexit vote proves noting else, it shows that the British Lion still retains some of its teeth and that what Winston Churchill called 'this Island race' still retains a lot of its age old love for freedom.

http://www.britishnationalfront.net/lion.jpg

* 'Shadow cabinet' is the term used in the British system to describe faux cabinet ministers named by the opposition party that's not in power. So for instance, there might be a shadow foreign minister, a shadow education minster, et cetera. They have no actual power, but are supposedly experts or at least knowledgeable in their area who keep up with their specialty and might or might not assume those portfolios if their party won the next election.

The reason for this is that unlike many other countries, there's no 'lame duck' period, and power can change hands immediately after an election or a vote of no confidence so these 'shadow ministers' could actually assume those portfolios as real ministers in that event.

The EU's Anti-Israel Labeling Scheme Is Starting To Fall Apart

http://de.europenews.dk/_ws/mediabase/_ts_1434707036000/archive/files/KauftNicht2.jpg

As I predicted, the EU's new diktat 'yellow starring' goods made or grown in Judea, Samaria, East Jerusalem and the Golan has suffered serious backlash.

Today, the Czech Republic joined Hungary, Germany and Greece in formally voicing criticism of the EU's diktat. Since the labeling procedure, size and format is not specified, there's little doubt in my mind that it will either be ignored or at best marginally complied with in these countries. The same is true of countries like non EU members Switzerland, Bulgaria,Albania (the last two have reasonably close ties to Israel)and the other Balkan states. EU countries like Poland, Romania, and Cyprus are unlikely to go along with it either for the same reason.

What all these countries have in common with the exception of Germany (and of course, Bulgaria and Albania) are small or non-existent Muslim populations they have no need to appease. Germany of course has historical reasons for feeling particularly uneasy about something like this, while warm relations between Bulgaria, Albania and the Jews are longstanding.

While EU foreign policy czar Federica Mogherini might claim that this move by the EU is merely "technical guidelines on the indication of origin, which is in no way a boycott," most Europeans know better, and so does Ms. Mogherini.

There are literally over a hundred territorial disputes in the world, some involving countries like India and China, some even involving EU members. But Israel and Israel alone is being singled out for this treatment. And the real meaning is quite clear. This is the EU picking sides in this struggle between Israel and the Arabs whom call themselves 'Palestinians' and they've chosen to side with the Arabs. These 'guidelines' are essentially the opening shots in an attempt by the EU  to make economic war on Israel and to force Israel back to indefensible borders.

It will fail for a number of reasons.

Israel imports far more from the EU than it exports, and only a small percentage of the $14 billion trade between Israel and the EU is impacted by these new guidelines. A counter boycott of EU goods by Israel and its supporters worldwide would affect the EU a lot more than it would hurt Israel since almost nothing Israel imports from the EU is anything it can't produce domestically or obtain elsewhere.

For that matter, the EU has been threatening this for quite some time, and most Israeli producers whom grow any items with a shelf life in the areas mentioned cut back on imports to the EU along time ago. They're exporting to Russia, India, East Asia, Australia, Canada, the US, non-EU Europe, the Caucasus and yes, even the Arab world after repackaging. Expect that strategy to be mirrored in  Europe, where a lot of countries will simply wink and ignore the labeling diktat.

The EU choosing to side with their murderous welfare recipients in Gaza and Mahmoud Abbas's little reichlet  instead of a vibrant western democracy like Israel makes little sense considering the problems the EU already had to deal with.

This isn't going to end well for them.

UKip's Nigel Farage: "Greece, Take Back Your Democracy"

UKip leader Nigel Farage had a few things to say worth hearing about Greece and the EU..and he said them yesterday in the European Parliament, speaking directly to Greek Prime Minster Alexis Tsipras across the room:

NIGEL FARAGE: Thank you. What we're seeing in this chamber this morning and indeed across the whole of Europe is an irreconcilable cultural difference between Greece and Germany. A split between the North and the South of Europe. The European project is actually beginning to die. Nobody in this room will recognise that the peoples of Europe are saying, we were never asked whether we want in this. This has been foisted upon on us and we need to understand why the EMU doesn't work. Those monsters Kohl and Mitterrand, backed up by the clever but dangerous Delors believed that if they put in place an economic and monetary union then as night follows day, there would be political union and there would be an acceptance of this project and the North and South of Europe would converge. That we would all start to love each other and we would all start to feel a European identity, that we would all start to show allegiance to the flag and the anthem.

Those, of course, that criticised this were told we were extremists and we lacked vision. Well one vision we didn't lack is we understood the countries of Europe are different and if you try to force together different people and different economies without first seeking the consent of those people it is unlikely to work and the plan has failed. This isn't just Greece we're talking about today, the whole of the Med now finds itself in the wrong currency and yet virtually nobody in the political arena has the courage to stand up and say that. Indeed, I feel that the continent is now divided from North to South, there is a new Berlin wall and it is called the euro. The old enmities have been resumed. Just listen to the way the German leader of the CDU group this morning attacked Mr Tsipras. He was actually disgusting but it shows the way North and South feel about each other.

Mr Tsipras, your country should never have joined the euro, I think you acknowledge that. But the big banks, big business and big politics forced you in. Goldmans Sachs, the German arms manufacturers, they were all very happy when the bailouts began. They weren't for the Greek people, those bailouts were for French, German and Italian banks. They haven't helped you at all. These years of austerity, years of high employment and increasing poverty, none of it's worked. In fact, your debt GDP ratio has gone from 100 percent at the start of the crisis to 180 percent right now. It would be madness sir, to continue on this course.

You have been very brave. You called that referendum. When one of your predecessors tried to do the same the bully boys in Brussels had him removed. They tried their best again, Mr Juncker said you would have to leave the Euro and leave the EU. Even Mr Schulz, the president of the parliament, who one would have thought might have been neutral, said that if the Greeks voted no then power supplies might even go down. There were threats and bullying but the Greeks stood firm. But sir, you cannot have your cake and eat it. They will give you no more these people. They cannot afford to, if they give you more they have to give other Eurozone members more.

So your moment has come, and frankly if you have the courage you should lead the Greek people out of the Eurozone with your head held high. Get back your democracy; get back control of your country. Give your people the leadership and the hope that they crave. Yes it will be tough in the first few months but with a devalued currency and with friends of Greece all over the world, you will recover. "

Greece's New Trojan Horse, And What It Means To America

http://911review.com/disinfo/imgs/horse1.jpg

The Greeks, faced with what amounted to an ultimatum from the EU rejected further austerity measures and decided yesterday not to accept the EU's proposal by a whopping 61%. It's not hard to see why.

Greece's debt now exceeds 177% of their GDP.They owe massive amounts to their bondholders and other creditors, whom already took a huge haircut for the last bailout. In order to pay the next payment due on what they already owe, they needed yet another bailout and what Greek's left wing PM Alexis Tsipras called 'debt relief.' That essentially means they want EU nations like Germany to pay off part of Greece's debt.

In response, the EU, led by German Chancellor Angela Merkel offered a take or leave it proposal that would have given Greece enough money to pay off the IMF, which will then give them the money to pay the European Central Bank, and so on and so on. But the EU also demanded severe austerity measures to do it, including spending cuts, reforms to Greece's expansive pension and social welfare system and 'labor reform', which means more cuts in civil service jobs. That's what the EU wanted in exchange for yet another 240 billion euro ($262.7 billion) bailout.

To add an additional bit of arm twisting, the European Central Bank (ECB)took the step of cutting of all cash to Greece's banks, which are dependent on it since they were connected to the system. The banks are now closed, with ATM deposits limited to 60 euros (about $66) per day if you can find an ATM that still dispenses cash. Greeks are reverting to barter to purchase food and ordinary household supplies, and Greek banks are forecast to run out of money totally sometime this week.

What's really going on is sheer politics. Greece's debt is never going to be paid off, ever. And the EU knows it. What they're really after is damage control, AKA a modicum of control over Greek fiscal policy to limit the fallout.

The EU is in something of a bind. If they cut Greece some slack, other countries with major debt problems like Portugal, Spain and Italy who received bail outs but are making their payments and coping with austerity are very likely to reconsider making their own payments. After all, if Greece can get away with this, why not them? And there's also the factor of someone like Merkel having to face angry German taxpayers if Greece slides away from its obligation and they have to pick up the slack once more.

By the same token, if Greece is forced out of the Eurozone, it sets a precedent for others to do the same thing and have the whole over-leveraged structure topple over.

So the result of this Sunday's referendum means there's going to be one of two outcomes.

Either the EU will cave in and make a better offer, which is exactly the argument PM Alexis Tsipras used to urge Greeks to vote no. Or the EU will decide it's had enough of Greece, and Greece exits the euro.

From Greece's point of view, either way works, really.Again, here's why, in a nutshell..

http://www.steynonline.com/pics/large/1357.jpg

Whatever happens, Greece is in for some pain, but I think they'd probably be better off simply dropping the Euro, which is exactly what I wrote in 2012.

Dumping the euro and adopting the Greek drachma, which would of course devalue naturally would have several salutary effects once the initial chaos subsided. Greece would no longer be locked into a fixed exchange rate, which would make its exports more affordable and undoubtedly create a boom in tourism, one of Greece's chief industries. Plus, let's face it, no one is going to lend the Greeks money or buy their debt for some time to come at anything like decent rates, so they might be better off just wiping the slate clean with a bankruptcy and starting fresh.

Not only that, but if the Greeks are smart, they will institute their own form of austerity reforms. The costs of government is nearly half of Greece's GDP right now (49.3%). A great deal of money could be saved simply be revaluing civil service salaries and pensions in drachmas instead of euros at a government set exchange rate that could be far less than the actual market rate.

There's an interesting lesson to be learned here, with an example from the other side of the Mediterranean.

In 2004, Israel was faced with a similar financial debacle, made even worse by the high cost of Israel's defense needs. At that time, Greece actually had a higher per capita GDP than Israel did and was arguably in much better financial shape overall.

Over the last ten years, the story has changed considerably.Greece's per capita GDP has actually shrunk in terms of 2004 dollars, while Israel's has grown by a whopping 50%. Unemployment in Greece more than tripled, from 8.4% in 2002 to 26.5% in 2014, while unemployment in Israel dropped by more than half from 12.8% in 2002 to 5% in 2015.

In 2004, both countries had a similar proportion of their GDP needed to service their debts, around 94%. Since then, however, Greece's has shot up to 177.2%, while Israel's fell to 68.8% and dropping in the same period of time. Israel's current credit rating is A+ with S&P, with no credit rating company rating them below A. Investors are flocking to invest in Israel, and the country's economy is projected to grow this year by over 3%.

Greece's credit is rated by all credit rating companies at CCC- by Standard and Poors, the lowest possible rating, with no credit rating higher than CCC. Foreign investment is negligible, and the economy is actually shrinking.

So what happened? It's simple, really.

Between 2002-2007, Greece borrowed lavishly on its EU credit card and used the money to increase government size and expenditures (at one point, it seemed like almost everybody worked for the government). They 'invested' in building projects fronted by the well connected and bought votes in the form of more social welfare "benefits" for the public they couldn't afford, like those famous pensions from the age of 57. Meanwhile, raising taxes and producing red tape to try and match expenditures with income and add more revenue made Greece a poor place to invest and do business in. Greece was rated 84th in the world in the most recent Economic Freedom of the World Index. Greece, to put it bluntly, is a prime example of why the EU is eventually going to come apart at the seams.

Without access to rich Uncle IMF or the ECB, Israel solved its situation by doing exactly the opposite Greece did, with self-imposed austerity programs, privatization, cutting government red tape to encourage Israeli entrepreneurs and cuts in government spending. Many of these reforms were carried out under the present Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu when he was Israel's finance minister. Essentially, these reforms got Israel out of its financial mess by weaning Israelis away from the quasi-socialist system that created the mess in the first place.

So how is what's going on in Greece relevant to America? As a warning.

The United States isn't in Greece's position, at least not yet. But we're traveling on the same road...just give us time. Right now, our debt to GDP ratio is 101% and increasing. Growth is stagnant, inspite of thefairy tales being spun in Washington. Moreover, we also have a metastasizing government, and billions in unfunded social welfare mandates and pension obligations...and to the aggravate the situation, the Obama Administration no longer enforces our borders and is allowing millions of people to come here and stay illegally to add to those unfunded, budget busting social welfare mandates. As Europe has discovered, the majority of these migrants will be tax dollar recipients rather than tax paying contributors.

Like Greece, we also have a government that likewise strangles entrepreneurship with high taxation, arcane and costly regulations, red tape and diktats.

And the reckoning could be closer than we think. What if foreigners stop buying our debt, or demand a higher interest rates because our debt lowers our credit rating again? Suppose China or the Arabs decide they need a few billion to spend at home or that America simply isn't the investment they thought it was and engage in a massive sell off? What if a major American bank goes under because a Chinese or EU bank whose paper they hold had a major stake in Greece or derivatives based on those securities? Given what's been going on lately with the Chinese stock market, that's hardly an unlikely scenario.

Even if nothing like this happens, one thing is certain. It's only a matter of time until we run out of running room and other people's money. We're not too big to fail, and if we continue on this road, we will eventually get into Greek territory. And there's no one to bail America out, at any price.

The old saying from Homer's Odyssey is 'Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.' In this case, the warning we ought to take from Greece is no Trojan Horse, but a gift we shouldn't refuse.

The Swedes Throw A Tantrum Over Israel

Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom / Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman

Sweden's foreign minister Margot Wallstrom is angry at Israel, and she unloaded publicly today.

"It is unacceptable how they have been talking about us and everybody else," Wallstrom said in an interview with Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter. "It has irritated not only us, but the Americans and everyone who has anything to do with them right now."

She's in a snit because she was scheduled to arrive in Israel in mid-January in order to attend a memorial service for the Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, who saved Jews during the Holocaust. And, just a coincidence, to have meetings with high level Israeli officials. Instead, the Israeli government and Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman told her that those meetings weren't going to happen...at which point she canceled the trip, which gives you a good idea how much she and her government actually cared about honoring Raoul Wallenberg.

The reason for the Israeli government's response was Social Democrat Prime Minister Stefan Lofven using his inaugural address in parliament last year to announce that his country would recognize a Palestinian state along the pre-1967 lines.

Here's what the Swedish government actually endorsed by backing that: the creation of 500,000 Israeli refugees; the forced retreat of Israel to indefensible borders; the legitimacy of Hamas as part of the government of this new 'Palestine'; the casual tearing up of treaties and agreements signed by the PLO; and the redivision of Jerusalem and the barring of Jews forever from their holy sites.

Of course, what's really bothering Margot Wallstrom and the Swedish government is that those damned stubborn Jews won't roll over and appease Islamists - like Sweden, for instance.

In her interview, Wallstrom claimed Sweden supports Israel, Palestine and peace, but then she launched into the usual diatribe of 'anti-Zionists'

"Israel has been extremely aggressive," she said.

"They have continued with their settlement policies, they have continued demolitions, they have continued with their occupation policies which entail a humiliation of Palestinians, which makes the (peace) process difficult."

Yes, in her mind Hamas wasn't being aggressive at all in launching rockets at Israel civilians or in funding terrorist raids to kidnap and murder Israeli civilians. And Abbas and his Hamas allies haven't engaged in constant incitement, lawfare, terrorist attacks and failure to actually negotiate anything.

Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon tried to clue the Swedish people in during an interview broadcast on Swedish Radio, saying, "The Swedish foreign minister would not have been given any official meetings in Israel if she had traveled here. What Sweden did was an utterly unfriendly action."

It was more than just 'unfriendly.' Sweden may be famed for its neutrality but its Leftist government has essentially decided to pick sides in a war. Can they possibly be so clueless as to not understand that officials of Sweden's government aren't welcome in Israel, the country they chose to align themselves against?

And the government is backing up their choice with hard cash going directly to Hamas.

Margot Wallstrom may claim Sweden supports Israel and peace, but the actions of her government prove otherwise. Israel hardly needs enemies with the kind of 'support' they're getting from Sweden.

Who's 'Responsible?'

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/77324000/jpg/_77324704_mognewreuteu.jpg

Sometimes, a public figure makes a statement that simply defies the imagination in its blatant hypocrisy and ignorance of reality.

Those of you who have been following events in the region know that the Third Intifada against Israel is well underway, and that the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are doing their best to incite violence. Against this background, Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority AKA Hamas/Fatah recently went to the UN Security Council in an attempt to get a resolution declaring a Palestinian State along the pre '67 lines that would have called for forcing Israel back to indefensible borders, re-dividing Jerusalem and barring Jews from their Holy sites, ethnically cleansing 500,000 Jews, freeing all terrorists currently in captivity in Israeli jails and allowing any of the Arabs whom identify themselves as Palestinians to return to whatever they claim their homes were in Israel.

The resolution failed by one vote, but Abbas has promised to re-introduce it now that three pro-Israel nation's terms on the Security Council have finished and three anti-Israel countries terms on the Security Council started in 2015. And Abbas is also attempted to join the International Criminal Court, saying that if he's successful he will attempt to prosecute Israel there for war crimes.

Aside from violating both the Oslo Accords and The Road Map, this is nothing less than a hostile entity making a declaration of war against Israel.

In retaliation, Israel decided to take the measure of freezing $127 million in tax monies it gathered for Hamas/Fatah, and is considering other measures as well.

The EU immediately condemned this, and their reaction is worth looking at.

European Union foreign affairs head Federica Mogherini said in a statement today that even this moderate pushback "runs counter to Israel’s obligations."

“An effective Palestinian Authority, committed to non-violence and a peaceful resolution of the conflict, is a key element for a two-state solution,” Mogherini said.

Mogherini said that “recent steps taken … could aggravate the already tense situation on the ground and bring them further away from a negotiated solution.”

“Both sides should refrain from taking actions which could raise obstacles to the rapid return to the negotiations,” she added.

She also threatened that the EU’s financing of 'Palestine' could be endangered by Israel’s withholding the money.

You have to wonder what planet the EU thinks it lives on.

Israel's 'responsibilities?' What about the Palestinian Authority?

In exchange for being gifted sovereignty by Israel in the Oslo Accords over some land it otherwise had no claim to, The Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians agreed to do three things...renounce terrorism, recognize Israel's right to exist and end anti-semitic incitement in its mosques schools and media. Those same three requirements were also part of the Road Map.

Not one of them has ever been adhered to, not by Arafat, not by Mahmoud Abbas and certainly not by Hamas.

While the PLO charter tepidly recognizes Israel, neither the Fatah charter or the Hamas charters do. Support for terrorism against Israeli civilians is a given, and not merely tolerated but rewarded. In the twenty years since Oslo, not a single person has ever been arrested by the PA security forces for killing a Jew. Financing of terrorist activity by the PA and Hamas is a long documented fact. Terrorist killers convicted of some of the most heinous murders by Israeli courts are called 'holy martyrs' by Abbas and receive a nice salary from the PA courtesy of Eu and American taxpayers, and these 'martyrs' are held up as heroes and role models to Palestinian society. They're glorified in its media, lionized in its mosques and have public buildings named after them.

Mahmoud Abbas's Moscow University treatise claiming that the Holocaust never happened and that the few Jews that were killed were the result of 'Zionists' collaborating with the Nazis is a required text in the PA's school curriculum.

And the PA itself is now allied in a unity government with the genocidal Hamas. For that matter, the PLO has already said that the Oslo Accords no longer apply to them.

And when Mogherini talks about a Palestinian Authority, committed to non-violence and a peaceful resolution of the conflict, does she even recognize the years of sustained and constant rejectionism and unwillingness to negotiate anything by Arafat and Abbas and the PA as the main contributor to the current impasse?

Responsibility also entails financial responsibility. 'Palestine' has received more aid money per capita than any other developing nation in history, and they aren't even a state yet. Only the Arabs whom identify themselves as Palestinians have their own lavishly funded UN organization, UNRWA, to administer to their needs.

Yet, in spite of all that aid, they still remain an international economic basket case. eEen former PA finance minister Salim Fayyad admitted that at least half of the donor aid to 'Palestine' has either been stolen or diverted, and the World Bank puts it at 60%. The supposedly bankrupt PA still supports Sufa Arafat in her lavish Paris lifestyle to the tune of $100,000 per month, while Mahmoud Abbas is fabulously wealthy (He personally 'diverted' $1.3 billion to himself if former Palestinian Security Minister Mahmoud Dahlan is to be believed) and Abbas's two sons are millionaires.

Not only that, but the aspiring state of 'Palestine' has spent nothing on even creating its own electrical grid. 'Palestine' instead relies on Israeli electricity and has racked up an unpaid bill of around $300 million to the Israel Electric Corporation, an indebtedness subsidized by Israeli consumers through higher rates. It's to the point where the IEC has informed the Israeli government that they're going to be forced to cut power to the PA simply because the continued supply of free electricity is unsustainable.

Is Israel obligated as part of its 'responsibilities' to continue to supply free power to a hostile entity? And is Israel responsible for the fact that Hamas/Fatah are more concerned with spending whatever money they have left over after stealing for themselves on Jew killing and incitement? Is it Israel's fault that 'Palestine' is simply one of the most successful con games in history, one that the international community and particularly the EU happily bought into?

Isn't it time the EU and the rest of the so-called International Community starting calling on the Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians to start shouldering their responsibilities and imposing real consequences when they don't? Or are Israel and the Jews simply a more convenient target?

Terrorist Murderer's Death 'Viewed With Alarm' By EU And UN

Palestinian official Ziad Abu Ein, on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 (photo credit: Facebook)

Today marked the death of Zeid Abu Ein, a senior official with the Palestinian Authority. He died of a heart attack at a hospital in Ramallah after being involved in a protest that could more appropriately be called a violent riot in Samaria:

Zeid Abu Ein had a history of high blood pressure, coronary illness and diabetes that could very well have been aggravated by his inhaling some tear gas, but he refused medical assistance from an IDF medic and died of cardiac arrest at the hospital.

The Palestinian Authority is claiming he was hit with a rifle butt, and of course the 'international community' is upset.

Fatah leader, Jibril Rajoub, said that the Palestinian Authority would cease all security coordination with Israel. And the Palestinian Authority's unelected dictator President Mahmoud Abbas condemned “the brutal assault that led to the martyrdom” of Abu Ein, calling it “a barbaric act that cannot be tolerated or accepted,” According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Meanwhile the Eu and UN were also 'dismayed' at the incident. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini called for an immediate, independent investigation into Ziad Abu Ein’s death, adding that reports of excessive use of force by Israeli forces were “extremely worrying.”

And Robert Serry, the reflexively anti-Israel United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process also weighed in on how distressing this was, and called for a full investigation.

So who was this 'martyr' Ziad Abu Ein that has the Arabs whom identify themselves as Palestinians in a frenzy and the Europeans so dismayed? He was a terrorist murderer.

The two young men pictured above are 16-year old Boaz Lahav HY"D (May God Avenge his blood), and on your left, 14-year old David Lankry HY"D. They died in the bombing of  a Tiberias marketplace where thirty other people were badly injured in 1979,in an 'operation' carried out by Ziad Abu Ein, among his other accomplishments in the field..

Abu Ein was so dirty that he became one of the few Palestinian terrorist ever extradited by the U.S to Israel in 1981. He was tried, convicted and tossed in jail where he belonged but was unfortunately one of the ones released in the 1985 prisoners swap for three IDF soldiers captured in Lebanon.

This is whom the EU is so concerned about.  If they had any moral character at all, they'd be wondering about why they're still funding people whom consider him a hero and martyr.

Israel doesn't have capital punishment,  which is a pity since as far as I'm concerned, Ziad Abu Ein would have been a prime candidate for the rope. But  he died today of a a heart attack, struggling for breath..proof that justice triumphs.

UPDATE: A British reporter,  Sky News broadcaster and Middle East correspondent Tom Rayner reported that an  Israeli medic attempted to treat Abu Ein at the scene of the riot,  but that the Palestinians refused to allow her to do so, picked up Abu Ein and  taking him away in a vehicle. He died at the hospital of a heart attack.

Obama And The EU Give Huge Prize To Hamas

 http://oneway2day.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/bho-stands-with-israel-leans-to-pa-toon.jpg

The FAA has banned U.S. carriers from flying to Israel until further notice due to a Hamas rocket hitting a house a mile away from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport.

The FAA advisory reads:

The notice was issued in response to a rocket strike which landed approximately one mile from Ben Gurion International Airport on the morning ... [and] applies only to U.S. operators, and has no authority over foreign airlines operating to or from the airport

The EU was quick to follow along with The European Aviation Safety Agency telling France's AFP it would issue a "strong recommendation to avoid until further notice Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport."

This not only affects Israel economically (this is the height of the tourist season in Israel), but increases Israel's sense of isolation during wartime, and that is deliberate.

Both the Obama Administration and the EU want to stop Israel's offensive in Gaza and preserve Hamas' Islamist reichlet. This is their way of increasing pressure on Israel to leave Hamas in place.

Just imagine what would happen if President Obama made a clear statement  slamming Hamas for the war crime of targeting a civilian airport and threatened to cut off all funding for Hamas/Fatah  unless the rocket fire at Israel's civilians stopped immediately? But not this  president.

As Israeli Transport Minister Yisrael Katz said, this was a ridiculous overreaction. "There is no reason for these companies to stop flights. They have given a prize to terror."

After all, Malaysia Airline Flight 17, was traveling through an area with no international restrictions
when it was shot down over the Ukraine, where an armed conflict was known to exist.

I advise anyone traveling to Israel to take El Al.

On the plus side, this provides an incentive for Israel to step up its offensive and take out Hamas once and for all. And it also shows why 'Palestine' in Judea and Samaria shouldn't be based on the pre '67 lines, if it exists at all.

As an aside, President Obama has already pledged $47 million of your tax dollars to Hamas/Fatah for 'rebuilding' in Gaza, plus an additional $15 million to UNRWA ...and not a dime to Israel for its own rebuilding. Since he has to be  aware that the money he gave Hamas for 'rebuilding Gaza' and 'humanitarian aid' went to building Hamas' terrorist infrastructure and the tunnels the Israelis are now fighting to destroy, there's no mistaking where his sympathies lie.

Three Funerals.. And The End of The Beginning

Today, three young Jewish boys were laid to rest. The bodies of Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, also 16 (HY"D)were buried in Modi'in in a ceremony that was attended by thousands of Israelis in what became a day of national mourning.

The bodies of the three boys, kidnapped by Hamas operatives on June 12 were found in a shallow grave near the Arab village of Halhul, just north of Hebron. According to Israeli forensic experts, they were murdered in cold blood shortly after they were kidnapped and buried hastily as their kidnappers fled. But not too hastily. As one of my sources on the scene let me know yesterday, the killers took the time first before they shoved the corpses into the hole to mutilate the boys' bodies in classic Arab fashion.Israel's Channel Two described the condition of the bodies as 'harrowing'.

This was meant to send a message to the Israelis. So was the attack on the clearly marked ambulance carrying the murdered boys' bodies to Israel to be buried, and the widespread instances of celebration of the 'victory' by Arabs living under the Palestinian Authority. and even in Israel itself.

Nor are children left untouched by this poison. They're being indoctrinated as the next generation of murderers in the name of Allah.

Three schalits

Three schalits

Three schalits

The message, of course, is the same one the Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians have been sending ever since Yasser Arafat invented them. To them, or at least to the majority, this is a tribal war to the knife, no holds barred and none of the niceties of civilized behavior apply. They want the Jews ethnically cleansed by whatever means necessary. There is no desire for peace or real negotiation, no farcical 'two state solution' so beloved of the West and what remains of the Israeli Left. And that message is being sent out every day by Hamas, who are at least more honest about the matter and Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah, on whose official Facebook page the image immediately above this paragraph appeared.

After these murders, the message finally may be beginning to sink in with most Israelis, especially given the response from the West. After all, the Palestinians are whom they are, and their brutality is to be expected. But the civilized nations of the West?

The Israelis can't have failed to notice that for all the pro-forma condemnations from the US, the UN and the EU, the underlying message is 'so sad your children got murdered, but you ought to be used to that by now. We're still going to continue funding the new Fatah-Hamas government because they're one big happy family now, so the important thing for Israel is to exercise is restraint. Suck it up.'

To be totally honest about the matter, it is difficult for me to express adequately the way that message makes me feel...that the American government now funds and supports a genocidal group that would celebrate my murder or the murder of my loved ones just as enthusiastically as they're celebrating the murder of those three boys. Three unarmed boys murdered in cold blood, whom Wafa, the PA owned news service referred to as 'three soldiers'. I admit that I still haven't sorted out my feelings on that one, but my thoughts are far from pleasant.

President Barack Hussein Obama, the leader of the country that is supposed to be Israel's strongest ally had nothing to say at all about the matter for three weeks, and finally released a statement pretty much along these same lines once the bodies were found, perhaps because someone in the State Department reminded him it might be a good idea to say something. In contrast, that supposed cold fish, Russia's Vladimir Putin, made several calls to Israeli PM Netanyahu and Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman over the newly installed Jerusalem-Moscow secure hotline during the crisis, and took the time and trouble after the bodies were found to compose a hand written letter to Netanyahu, asking him to express Putin's personal condolences to the boys' families.

Our State Department reacted in a particularly  Kafka-esque fashion. They went out of their way not to blame their new Hamas friends while admitting they were involved. And no, I'm not kidding in the least:
Encouraging restraint from both the Israeli government— livid over the finding of the bodies of the missing on Monday, vowing to exact justice on the perpetrators— and from the Palestinian leadership, some of whom are calling the trial an Israeli conspiracy, and all of whom are bracing for reprisal, State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters that the US is intimate with intelligence on the case, in part since one of the dead teenagers was American.

"Many indications" suggest the murders constitute a terrorist attack, Harf said. "I'm not saying they're responsible," she said. "But they were involved."

Hamas involved, but of course, not responsible for what's not necessarily a terrorist attack. Got it ? Maybe it was a three way suicide. Who knows? And those rockets and mortar rounds being fired at Israel's civilians? Meteorites of course!

The Israelis have buried their dead. and now they must decide what to do..and they must make that decision realizing that any action they take will be criticized by the same usual suspects now weeping crocodile tears over three dead Jewish kids whose nation is the only one in the world considered 'illegitimate'. Israel, a nation labeled an 'occupier' without occupying, a country called 'apartheid' where Arabs have more legal and political rights than anywhere in the Middle East and a country to whom very different rules always apply when it comes to defending themselves.

If you need any further proof of that, just imagine the reaction from these same quarters if a team of Israelis had kidnapped and murdered a trio of Arab youths. Of course, in the unlikely event that happened, the families of the Israeli perpetrators wouldn't be talking about how proud they are of the killers. And the Israelis wouldn't be in the streets& ululating and celebrating about their 'victory' or teaching their children how heroic it was to murder Arab children. But flip the coin, and there's no problem with Arabs murdering Jews, bathetic rhetoric aside. There's no mention of 'collective punishment' when Arabs murder 3 Jews simply because they're Jews. At least not with the Obama team, the EU and the UN. And of course, the funding keeps coming regardless, no matter what.

Israel is by no means a perfect nation, but they are, for the most part a moral and a humane one.  And that fact is being cynically used by their enemies to destroy them, bit by bit. Israel cannot allow this to continue, not if they wish to survive as a free people in their own country.

If Israel allows this atrocity to go unanswered, if they allow this to be one more straw that hasn't broken the camel's back ( or it's heart) yet, they will simply invite more of the same.  Whether they want to acknowledge it or not, there is no two state solution no matter what John Kerry or the UN might imagine. As Yasser Arafat said long ago, either Israel or 'Palestine'  is going to survive. and that's why all of Israel's 'sacrifices for peace' all its 'goodwill gestures' , all its attempts to treat the Palestinians humanely and to bend to pressure to the point of almost breaking in half have come to nothing. And none of it means anything next to the Arab envy and lust for Jewish land and blood.

The Jews learned, or should have learned a long time ago that you can't co-exist with Amalek. The only possibility for peace is to destroy his ability to attack you utterly, to take away his bases and his weapons and drive him out if necessary, or at least mark out boundaries and let him know he approaches or tries to cross at his peril. True and lasting peace comes from victory.

Over thirty years ago, Israel, prodded by President Clinton did something no Arab country was willing to do for the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians. They gave them some land to rule themselves in, and later, they did the same thing in Gaza after iron clad assurances by the PA, the EU and the U.S that Gaza would never become a security problem for Israel. And Israel has been paying the price in blood ever since. It's time this horrible war of attrition ended. Long past time. That blood debt cries out for redemption, and that is the only language the Arabs whom call themselves Palestinians will understand.

There's something symbolic about the place where these children were buried, Modi'in. It's the place where a farmer who acted as a local rabbi called Mattathias finally decided that enough was enough, refused to bow down to a Seleucid Greek pagan idol and started the Maccabee revolt in 165 CE in Judea.

 http://acdemocracy.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/history-of-hanukkah.jpg

Like the Israelis today, the Jews then were confronted by a powerful nation, a world power  pressuring them to do its will and succumb. They didn't and against all the odds they won their freedom. Modi'in was the place where it all began, and it would be fitting if today's funeral at Modi'in was the spark of a new beginning for Israel.

It will not be easy or painless, simply because the obvious has been delayed so long. Many of Israel's so-called 'friends' will scream bloody murder, but then they were never friends to begin with anyway. Others will understand, and they will count for much more in the end than those who give lip service to 'supporting Israel' but fund a genocidal group pledged to Israel's destruction.

If a nation means anything, it means that it protects its commerce, its borders and its citizens and makes attacks on them so painful and costly that its enemies think twice and forbear. It means there are certain things it simply does not take. It means that a nation and its citizens have the right to stand upright and stop living on their knees.Without that message, a nation means nothing.

And that's the message Israel has avoided since Oslo and must send now...clearly, forcefully and unmistakeably.
