So Long, Lemmy...Rockin' Until The End
Bassist, singer and catalyst Lemmy Kilmister has made the Passage, at age 70 from cancer. Considering the other stuff he survived, well...
Lemmy stated out as the bass player for the old British trance/sci fi rock band Hawkwind, and after leaving or being fired depending on whom you talk to, went on to form one of the original proto-metal bands, Motörhead in 1975. They stuck around for twenty two albums and remained a favorite on the touring circuit. Playing was pretty much his life, and I can't help but think that's how he wanted to go out. Here he is earlier this year at Rock am Ring, playing 'Overkill.'
So long and rest in peace, Lemmy. You were definitely one of a kind.
