A Lion Among Jackals - Gen. Kelly Rips Dems,Press Over Lies About Trump's Condolence Call

What we have here is a man who has lived his life in service to his country explaining what that means... to jackals who serve nothing but themselves and their agenda to tear down what most Americans still hold sacred.

White House chief of staff John Kelly lashed out at Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) today (and by extension her fellow Democrats who piled on) saying he was "stunned" by her negative description of President Trump's call to the wife of a U.S. soldier who was killed in combat inNiger.

I went over this yesterday and explained the real reason the press jumped on this, as a tool to keep other news off the headlines.

So General Kelly, who recently lost his own son in combat patiently explained exactly what happens when a service person is killed. And  that the wife or parents of the deceased service person must agree beforehand to take the call, and exactly why President Trump's call was completely appropriate...and not at all a common gesture by presidents in wartime. President Trump personally called all 4 families.

To me, the most telling moment when when General Kelly agreed to take a few questions "but only on this subject" and asked if any of the reporters were Gold Star parents, or even knew any Gold Star parents and the room went silent. Finally he found a couple of reporters who claimed they knew Gold Star families, and of course their questions were not about the topic of the condolence call at all but about the raid itself in Niger, which Kelly addressed but refused to answer for reasons that are apparent if you watch the video. And this time the usual spectacle of the press yelling out over each other was absent.

Can it be that the lion shamed the jackals this time? Can it be that the blatant contrast between themselves and those who serve being made so nakedly obvious made them, for the first time perhaps, see themselves for who they really are?

A must watch video.

An American In Babylon - Trump's UN Speech

President Trump's UN speech attracted a fair amount of controversy among the chattering classes. It shouldn't have.

The United Nations has become a byword for useless, dysfunctional bureaucracy a mere 72 years after its founding.

Like Belshazzar's feast, it spends lavishly and conducts itself with opulence, but is rotted through with corruption and does little of any value while squatting in mordant self satisfaction.

Leave it to President Donald J. Trump to point out the wrong direction the UN has traveled since its founding in the aftermath of two devastating world wars, and to challenge it to change direction and become the force for good it was intended to be.

The president called for the UN and its members to reverse course, and to become what the UN was supposed to become on its inception...a group of sovereign, independent nations who prized freedom, democracy and peace and were willing to work together to promote them and to take action against rogue nations who threatened those ideals. If you read the original UN charter, you get a sense of just how far the UN today has removed itself from what it says.

Scandals like 'oil for food' where even the Secretary General's son was implicated in money laundering for Saddam Hussein to avoid UN sanctions abound. Countries like Iran routinely threaten genocide. And violate with impunity even UN Security Council series 7 resolutions like UNSC 1701, which called for the disarming of terrorist group Hezbollah and prohibiting UN members from rearming them. Iran and Syria rearmed Hezbollah without incurring any penalty whatsoever.

UN peacekeeping forces are more noted for trading food supplies for enforced prostitution, ignoring their supposed duties and allowing violence against civilians than for fulfilling their actual missions.

That's exactly why President Trump quoted Harry Truman, who stressed that the success of the United Nations depended on the “independent strength of its members.”

And unlike his predecessor, President Trump was unafraid to voice this simple truth;

“The United States of America,” Trump said, “has been among the greatest forces for good in the history of the world, and the greatest defenders of sovereignty, security, and prosperity for all.”

And our president was equally honest about confronting thoe rogue nations who threaten peace and security. He called out the disgusting regime of Kim Jong-un in North Korea, saying thatthe patience of the United States is great, but not inexhaustible. Asthe president explained, If North Korea persists in its policy of nuclear blackmail, the United States “will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.” He continued: “Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.”

Needless to say, the Leftist press worldwide fainted away collectively at that. But what President Trump said was the simple truth. The same is true about what President Trump had to say about the equally rogue, criminal regime of Iran, one of the world's biggest sponsors of terrorism, a foe of America who was openly complicit in 9/11.

The UN's ignoring of the Iranian regime's march towards nuclear weapons is so ingrained that they aren't even making an attempt to have it look like they're doing something. Not only has Iran has prohibited the UN from any inspection of their military facilities where there's been clear indications of manufacturing and testing nuclear weapons components, but the IAEA, the UN's nuclear watchdog now allows Iran to self inspect their nuclear facilities that the UN is allowed to get a glimpse of. To accuse the IAEA and the UN of gross negligence whenit comes to Iran is a gross understatement.

You see, President Trump wasn't just giving a display of American resolve. This was a direct challenge to the UN, plain and simple. The UN, after all is supposed to be the forum where dangerous regimes like Iran and North Korea are supposed to be addressed and dealt with. While Trump was quite clear that America could handle these rogue regimes on their own, He said it would be far better if the UN actually did what it was supposed to do and dealt with these major threats to world peace. “If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few,” Trump said in another memorable line, “then evil will triumph.”

Trump even had the intestinal fortitude to address Socialism.

No ideology has ever been so discredited by the evidence of history, but like a serially cheating wife or husband still offers hope to a long suffering spouse that this time, it will really be different. Except, of course, it never is.

Trump used the UN's failure to address the human tragedy now going on in Venezuela, once one of the richest countries on earth where Maduro's socialist regime is literally starving its population to death. It wasn't so long ago the Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders and other Leftists were using Hugo Chavez and Venezuela as an example of how well socialism could work. Now, as the once rich country descends into poverty and chaos, they don't mention Venezuela any more.

“The problem in Venezuela,” Trump said, “is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.”

So how did President Trump's speech go over? To most of the delegates of the UN, not very well. Being publicly unmasked like that is the last thing they wanted, let alone being challenged to make the UN what it was created to be. And of course, Trump's usual political enemies in the press and in the Democrat party went predictably ballistic. But as usual, the president has hit another bulls eye when it come to talking to the American people and to friends of freedom everywhere.

Speaking truth to power is a Leftist cliche', but that is exactly what President Trump's UN speech did, in one of his finest moments.

The Media Falls Right Into Trump's Trap on Voter Fraud!

Image result for Cartoons Trump makes fools out of biased media

This is so funny it's pathetic. They simply will never learn.

Donald Trump made a point of stating that voter fraud probably cost him the popular vote. Now I admit, my first reaction was 'why bother bringing that up now?'

And then I realized this was President Trump simply playing with the media again! It's really at the point where if President Trump says anything, the Democrats and their trained seals in the media go absolutely insane ad nauseum about his 'lies.' Even after they've been outed and made fools of time and again, it's so reflexive they keep doing it anyway.

Watch as they attack Sean Spicer and fall right into the trap:

"Wouldn't you want to investigate a scandal of those proportions? Why wouldn't you want to investigate this?"

Your wish is President Trump's command, madame!

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he will launch a ‘major’ investigation to look into voter fraud in the country.

“I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and….even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time),” the president tweeted Wednesday morning.

“Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures!”

The Democrats of course, tried quickly to head this off on fake news media, claiming that just investigating voter fraud will somehow lead to 'voter suppression. But sorry boys, too late. If the Democrat media insists on an investigation, President Trump is happy to oblige. How can they possibly complain about and investigation they demanded? And when that DOJ investigation finds voter fraud (and believe me, it will) how can they complain about actions congress takes to "strengthen up voting procedures?"

The Democrats know very well that while it might not be 2-3 million, there's a fair amount of voter fraud that they depend on to win close elections.

One Democrat who knows it is Alan Schulkin, the Commissioner of the Board of Election of New York City, filmed here on a hidden camera by James O'Keefe's Project Veritas:

And that's just in New York City.

As I pointed out here, there no real telling just how many votes Donald Trump actually got:

Remember Jill Stein's Hillary Clinton backed recount attempt? Originally, it was ordered in the State of Michigan by U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith, an Obama appointee even though Stein had no standing since there was no way a recount would have affected her. She proceeded to file suit in two other states Trump won, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. And then suddenly, the whole scam ground to a halt, with Goldsmith hurriedly reversing himself.

That happened after Trump started gaining votes in all three states...and clear evidence of voter fraud was found in Wayne County affecting over 37% of the precincts in Detroit showing more votes than there were registered voters, which is why Judge Goldsmith was happy to reverse himself and let sleeping dogs lie. Similar evidence was found in Wisconsin (Dane County) and Philadelphia, but since recounts were never really started in Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, we have no clue as to how many votes Trump may have actually gotten.

There was also evidence of voter fraud in Clark County (Las Vegas)Nevada, where most of the states illegal migrants live. Trump lost Nevada by only 26,434 votes, but naturally, we'll never know if he actually did.

California, with the largest population of illegal migrants in America has significant voter fraud and has for some time. Illegal migrants can easily get a driver's licenses with only a matricula consular card from Mexican consulates, which don't check details too closely, especially if you give the clerk a little something for his trouble. Getting a license or registering a vehicle automatically registers you to vote, and there are no voter ID laws in California...the poll worker simply asks you name, finds you on the list and gives you your ballot. The Democrat ruled state rarely purges its registration rolls for move aways or dead people, and also pushes note by mail and absentee ballots rigorously. My late mother passed away in 2015,but she got her absentee ballot for 2016, mailed to her at a house I own where she used to live.

Depending on results? Oh I think they'll find some results. maybe not two or three million, but enough to justify laws to "strengthen up voting procedures."

And that isn't going to turn out well for the Democrats, no, not st all.

Which if course is exactly what the President wants and had planned all along.

Amazing Israel - Doctors Cure Paralyzed 6-Year-Old Girl

Surgeons at work

Little Six-year-old Ruthie Rosenthal, who suffered from paralysis after she fell and injured her spine is walking again and has full use of her hands, thanks to some amazingly skilled Israeli surgeons and the Almighty (BH).

Ruthie, who has Down's Syndrome, fell about a year ago. Complicated lumbar spinal fusion surgery was done which used screws to connect her skull and chest but the resulting pressure on her spine caused her to stop walking and she also lost the function of her hands.

Dr. Josh Schroder, a senior orthopedist at Hadassah Medical Center said, "Ruthie had a life-threatening condition when she came to Hadassah for treatment."

"It was clear that she required immediate surgery. I contacted the head of the spinal surgery unit at Hadassah, Dr. Leon Kaplan, in order to draw up a plan for the complicated operation."

The group of specialists decided on surgery in stages on the anterior and posterior areas of Ruthy's neck, performed by Dr. Schroder, Dr. Leon Kaplan, Dr. Moni Benifla, a pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Menahem Gross, a pediatric ENT specialist and a group of senior anesthesiologists.

"The last time an operation like this was performed was by Prof. Kaplan himself, the only person who does such surgery in Israel," said Dr. Schroder. "During the surgery we cut away the upper part of the spine and released the previous fusion in order to free the posterior vertebrae. We then performed a new fusion. Spinal surgery on such a narrow spine is very dangerous and sensitive and requires precise and meticulous work."

Schroder says that "This is a very rare case. Only due to the capabilities of the multifaceted team we managed to find a solution. Ruthie is now walking and has even strengthened her walking at the Alyn rehabilitation hospital. Her hands function perfectly and she is proving that everything could now be possible for her."

Ruthy's father Pinny said that "We received a new child. I want to thank first and foremost the Creator of the World who guided the doctors, headed by Josh Schroder, to find a cure for our Ruthie." He added that "They succeeded in doing the unthinkable. With G-d's help and with the help of the doctors, my daughter is walking on her feet and that is an unforgettable experience for us."

Amazing Israel...truly a Land of Miracles.

Israelis Save Youngest Premature Baby!

http://cdn.timesofisrael.com/uploads/2016/08/baby-635x357.jpg

Little Aharon was born prematurely last April in Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital at only 22 weeks. Babies born that early have an infinitesimal chance of survival if any. He only weighed 670 grams.

“The doctors here were honest; they came and told me straight to my face,” the baby’s father, Eli Haba, told Channel 2 news. “They told me that he had a 20 percent chance of survival. And even if was one of the 20 per cent and did survive, there was a 90 per cent chance he would have disabilities.”

Since he was mistakenly diagnosed as being 23 weeks old, the doctors decided to make an extra effort to see if they could save him. At 22 weeks, the odds are are even smaller...but then again, this is Israel, the Land of Miracles.

Aharon’s mother, Roxanne Yun, told Channel 2, “I prayed for him to be strong, to fight. I came here and told him, ‘Be strong! Mom and Dad love you.’ He is my son, my son needs my love.”

Baby Aharon was released from the hospital two days ago, not only alive but thriving. This sort of thing is unheard of globally in medical circles.

Youngest premature infant survives in Israel

Did Trump Flip Flop On Amnesty? Not Even Close, And Here's The Proof

 Donald-Trump-1

Much has been made about a supposed 'flip flop ' on amnesty for illegal aliens by Donald Trump.

This is sheer horse manure for the #nevertrumpers to wallow in, like they were actually going to vote for him anyway. Trump isn't remotely selling 'amnesty.' Not even close.

What Trump has always said is that he wants a priority on border control (please look up what that word 'priority' means), that he wants to enforce our current immigration laws vet who's here and establish criteria for who gets deported and who qualifies to stay with some kind of legal status. He's not saying anything different in the clip above. Ann Coulter has been right about a lot of things, but she's vastly overreacting here. I'd expect that kind of thing from the #nevertrumpers, a certain loathsome senator from Texas and the folks at places like the NRO and CNN. Let's look at what Trump actually had to say, in full. And why it matters:

The only thing Donald Trump has changed is to underline that given the neglect of this issue for a quarter century or more by Washington, we also need to allow for a certain amount of compassion in some cases and establish a procedure for that.

And here's another amazing thing about it.
This is a crowded to capacity town hall meeting on national TV. When have you ever seen a presidential candidate in living memory actually have a conversation with his audience like this? When have you seen a presidential candidate demonstrate his faith in living democracy by taking a risk of this kind, listening to his audience and actually asking them what they think, not using some carefully scripted, rehearsed questioner and rehearsed answer ala' Mrs. Clinton, but en masse,in a crowd, live, on national TV where everyone can see?

The most brilliant thing of all is the message Donald Trump is sending to his fellow Americans that they haven't heard in years from anyone in power, that what they want and what they think matters.

And this is the man some people call an authoritarian and an egoist!

Another thing Trump hasn't wavered on at all is cutting back on H1B visa abuse that allows big corporations to actually fire Americans simply to import low wage labor to take their jobs, especially in the tech sector.

Why else do you think Zuckerberg and the rest of them are so invested in a Clinton victory?

Let me,in passing, also eliminate a #nevertrump talking point. Trump has indeed hired foreign workers for his hotels during the busy seasons, but lawfully under the H2B program, which means they are allowed to work legally for a very limited period of time and then must be returned to their country of origin. H1B programs allow permanent residency.

People have been using that 11 million figure for a long time now. We are talking about, most likely, 20 to 25 million people. Deporting all of them is possible, but is it desirable? I don't think so.

A number of those people are indeed undesirable migrants. They've committed numerous crimes, they're gang members, they've taken vast advantage of our social welfare system and contribute little to America. That's what happens when you have no borders.

Then there are others, who have established roots, have lived lawfully except for the initial crime of illegally crossing the border, whom work productively, and who show every sign of wanting to be part of America. Is there any reason not to establish criteria that allows a number of those who meet it to stay with some kind of legal status?

What Trump is doing is laying the groundwork for a brand new immigration policy to replace the travesty we have now, one where illegal migration is mostly gone, where migrant's applications can be scrutinized and migrants themselves carefully vetted according to a formula and criteria developed and implemented by the admitting sovereign country, the United States. Immigration, after all, is a privilege, not a right. That is a sensible and defensible policy, especially since it involves solving the main problem...porous borders and unlimited illegal migration.

That kind of policy is exactly what high immigration target countries like Australia, New Zealand and Canada have adopted to decide who is allowed to legally migrate and who isn't. And it's a smart, sustainable one, although Canada has been a little odd lately on 'rapefugees' since that part time lefty dance instructor Trudeau took over from Stephen Harper.

Trump's policy ideas on immigration align exactly with this kind of common sense approach.

Amnesty they ain't.

Must See - The Donald In Action Trumping The Press!

This is Donald Trump's press conference in Doral, Florida today, July 27th. Note how hostile the press is towards him and how well he handles them, especially since he obviously had a cold.

Watch how he notes that it has been over 230 days since Hillary Clinton had a presser, amazing given the softballs they always throw at her anyway. And how he mentions the huge increases in ObamaCare premiums due to be announced November 1 that President Obama is trying to put off until December, after the election. And challenges the press to actually do their jobs for a change and publicize that so Obama can't get away with it.

All in all, a masterful performance.

Al-Jazeera America Is Shutting Down

Yes, Pravda-on-the-Hudson is reporting that al-Jazeera,AKA Jihad TV is calling it quits here in the US.

After paying a cool $500 mill to acquire Al Gore's Current TV, the call went out to jihad-friendly writers and on air personalities everywhere to come aboard and preach dawa to America on the Emir of Qatar's dime. And they spent millions promoting al-Jazeera as a smart, new and happening thing.

Fortunately, American audiences never bought into it. Jihad TV started in August of 2013 with tops, 15,000 prime time viewers on a good night. No matter what, they were never able to get more than 20,000 to 30,000 viewers per night. And that was when things were going extremely well.

In addition, there was quite a bit of behind the scenes drama, micro-management and genuinely nasty behavior off screen involving the management and the staff, many of whom jumped ship or were fired. And there were lawsuits from former employees complaining of sexual harassment and anti-semitism at the Arab-owned station...what a surprise, eh?

Today, in a memo to the staff, Al Jazeera America’s chief executive, Al Anstey announced that Jihad TV was pulling the plug and would cease operations no later than April 30th. Instead, Anstey said they plan to expand their digital presence in the United States and “bring new global content into America.”

 http://www.digitalislam.eu/dwn/1003/8122C300x300_jhdonline2.jpg

So we're not entirely rid of this Islamist propaganda outlet...they'll still have their website. But at least these swine are off the air. And speaking of swine, I've always wondered what the climate change groupies thought of Big Al profiting by selling a TV station to a country like Qatar that produces all that horrible petro-chemical energy?

At any event, good riddance.

Breaking: ObamaTrade Dies In The House!!

https://fellowshipofminds.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/demon2.jpg

President Obama's attempt to screw America's workers and promote massive globalization failed in the House, as Democrats on the Left combined in an odd menage' with conservative Republicans to defeat the Obama Administration's secret protocol giving the president executive authority to 'fast track' trade agreements that were more about immigration, global warming and establishing an EU-like bureaucracy than about trade.

President Obama made an exhaustive pitch to Democrats, saying that voting against the bill was 'voting against me.' It failed dismally.

It was also a defeat for the GOP establishment leadership, as John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell did everything but hold a gun to the heads of GOP conservatives to get them to vote in favor of the bill.

A substantial reason this went down is simple. The bill itself was held in a closely guarded secret room, only select members of congress were even allowed to see it, and they were not permitted to take photographs or notes, or even to discuss it with the media. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), one of the few who read the bill, was particularly vociferous about how bad it was, saying that if the American people knew what was in it, the bill "would be dead."

This president, who pledged 'the most transparent administration in history' has been caught lying one too many times, and the same applies to the GOP leadership. No one trusts them any more. And when GOP committee chairman Paul Ryan started echoing Rep. Nancy Pelosi on ObamaCare, essentially saying we had to pass the bill to know what was in it, that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The Democrats and Republicans whom voted to flush this nonsense and send it where such items belong deserve our thanks, no matter what their reasons were. And that includes Nancy Pelosi, who performed one of the few worthwhile deeds in her long congressional career by voting to kill this  disgrace ad safeguard American workers.

As for the Republicans, it's long past time they got rid of Boehner, McConnell and the rest of the GOP establishment leadership.

When you lie down with pigs, some of the stench sticks to you no matter what. If the GOP is to continue as a viable party, it's time they drove the thieves out of the Temple.

Oklahoma OK... Kol Hakavod!

'Shepherdess Bringing in Sheep' by Camille Pissarro (photo credit: public domain, Wikimedia Commons)

I'm a fan of Oklahoma, as readers and friends who live there will attest to. I've been there a few times and the place, generally speaking is full of G-d fearing decent folks who tend to exhibit common sense, love freedom and treat strangers with courtesy. And they also tend to elect no nonsense, honest conservatives to public office, unlike my home state.

Not only that, but I've noticed that again, generally speaking, a solid sense of justice seems to exist among most of the denizens of Okie Land, even when there's no money or benefit involved. To wit, this item.

The picture above is called "Shepherdess Bringing in Sheep" by French Impressionist Camille Pissaro, and it's worth 8 figures easy on the open market. It currently sits in the University of Oklahoma's Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum, where it was donated along with a number of other paintings.

The problem is, there's a good chance it's stolen art. It belonged originally to French department store owner Raoul Meyer, and was part of his art collection that was seized by the Nazis when they invaded France during World War II.

The Nazis loved art, and plundered the best museums and private collections in Europe. Many of the museums were able to hide some of their treasures, but private collections were looted, especially the ones owned by Jews. After all, it's not like they were in any position to complain. And since a lot of them died in the camps or were left destitute, many of them weren't in any position to try and get their valuable paintings back, so they were sold to private collectors and museums, often by officers and bureaucrats connected to the post-war occupation.

"Shepherdess Bringing in Sheep” changed hands several times after the war,and when Meyer tried to get back his lawful property, a Swiss court ruled in ruled in 1953 that he'd missed his five-year window to recover the painting. Too bad, Jew!

So after it changed hands a few more times, it ended up being donated to O.U, where Meyer's daughter tracked it down and filed a lawsuit against the University of Oklahoma in January 2014.

And here's where it gets good.Twenty-six members of the Oklahoma House of Representatives introduced a resolution today that wants O.U. and its Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art to determine to the legislature's satisfaction that none of paintings were “unlawfully appropriated during the Nazi era.”

"If it is determined from provenance research that an object in its collection was unlawfully appropriated during the Nazi era without subsequent restitution, the House of Representatives hereby directs the University of Oklahoma and the Fred Jones. Jr. Museum of Art to resolve the matter in an equitable, appropriate, and mutually agreeable manner, including restitution," the resolution states.

It's expected to pass. The idea, of course, is to shame OU into doing the right thing.

Oklahoma has a population of 3.878 million folks, of whom only 4,500 or so are Jews. So there wasn't any political benefit for the Oklahoma Legislature in doing this. They acted in response to a letter last month from the small Holocaust Remembrance and Restitution Society at the University of Oklahoma asking for them to support their efforts.

Those legislators did it because it was the right thing to do.

That, and a sense of sheer decency and fairness, which as I noted, is fairly common in Oklahoma.

Truth Triumphs In Alaska as GOP Wins Another Senate Seat

http://cdn01.dailycaller.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/dan-sullivan-family--e1408542740909.jpg

According to data from the Associated Press, Dan Sullivan is the new senator from Alaska. He beat incumbent Mark Begich by almost 4 points, 49% to 43.5%.

This gives the GOP a total of 8 senate seats, and probably 9 come January when the Louisiana run off is completed. And Virginia, one of the biggest surprises of last night will probably go to recount, with only six tenths of a percentage point separating incumbent Democrat Mark Warner and GOP challenger Ed Gillespie. Unfortunately, I don't believe state law allows for a run off there, since a libertarian candidate funded by Democrats took 4% of the vote that would mostly have gone to Gillespie.

I admit to more than a casual interest in this race. Having spent some time in Alaska, I have a real affection for the state and its people. It truly is a unique and special place, where a person's character and willingness to work hard still count for a great deal.

That's why I was fairly certain that Mark Begich lost the race the day he ran a despicable ad blaming Sullivan for the murder of two seniors and the hideous rape of their granddaughter because Sullivan as attorney general supposedly okayed a plea bargain that gave the criminal a light sentence which allowed him to get out of jail early and murder and rape again.

This was a particularly egregious lie, since the original crime was tried in 2009 he was still serving in the Marines in Iraq and was not yet Attorney General. And the plea bargain itself only occurred because of a clerical error that took place before Sullivan became attorney general.

Even worse was what happened afterwards. The Sullivan campaign responded quickly to this malicious fiction, and even received support from Alaska's current attorney general Michael Geraghty who said bluntly that the ad had 'no basis in fact.'

“The State is actively prosecuting the person who has been charged with those crimes,” he said. “Drawing publicity to the case in a political ad, and highlighting the home where a family suffered such a horrific tragedy, is inappropriate and offensive.”

At that point, the attorney representing the family of the victims contacted both campaigns and asked them to take down the ads out of compassion for their suffering and to avoid poisoning the jury pool.

The Sullivan campaign took their ads down immediately. The Begich campaign continued to run theirs until they received an actual cease and desist letter from the attorney.

“The family directly and without question has told your campaign they want no part of this,” wrote the lawyer, Byron Collins. “You are tearing this family apart to the point that your ad was so shocking to them they now want to permanently leave the state as quickly as possible. Again, to be perfectly clear, it was your ad that shocked them.”

Begich was willing to exploit the pain of a traumatized rape victim and the pain of a suffering family as well as risk having a murderer and rapist go free because of the effect on potential jurors simply to try and keep his seat - a position he only acquired because of the bogus corruption accusations against GOP incumbent Ted Stevens that were later thrown out of court.

Begich never expressed any remorse whatsoever for doing what he did.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid was willing to spend millions in Alaska, mostly coming from the Democrat PAC Alaska First to keep this creature in his seat, one reason this was even as close as it was. Begich was able to stick 16 field offices anchored in rural, hard-to-reach communities with a majority of Alaska natives, and rest assured that some walking around money was paid for turnout in these areas, a traditional source for Democrat votes in Alaska. Begich made a point of attacking Sullivan as 'not a real Alaskan' and 'out of touch with Alaska's native communities.'

Unfortunately for Begich, a lot of Alaskans respected Sullivan's record as former Alaska Department of Natural Resources commissioner which brought him into direct contact with various tribal associations. And he is married to Julie Fate Sullivan, an Alaska native who hails from a prominent Athabascan family and once worked Senator Ted Stevens, which made last night something of a vindication for the late Senator. She frequently appeared with Sullivan at campaign events.

Ultimately, most Alaskans decided that someone who epitomized what they regarded as Alaskan values was more of a real Alaskan than someone who merely happened to be born there.

Dan Sullivan will join other veterans of the Iraq War like Joni Ernst and Tom Cotton as strong voices for national defense and patriotism. Mark Begich will crawl back under the rock from which he emerged.

Cheerleaders, G-d And Civil Disobedience

 http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Oneida-Cheerleaders.jpg

Oneida High School in Oneida, Tennessee ended prayers before athletic events because they were afraid of the possibility of lawsuits after pressure from the ACLU and atheist organizations like the Freedom From Religion foundation. So they stopped the usual broadcasting of the Lord's Prayer, otherwise known as Psalm 23 (written by King David) over the PA and substituted a 'moment of silence' instead. The school's decision didn't resonate well with the students and much of the community.

What happened next is simply heartwarming.

The next Friday night football game, the school's cheerleaders in a body used that 'moment of silence' to lead the assembled crowd and the athletes in Psalm 23.

“We need prayer for so many reasons especially in our community now and the troubles we face every day,” said junior Kayla King.

“During the moment of silence all the cheerleaders came together and recited the Lord's Prayer,” King explained.

Cheerleader Captain Ally Meyers said she was "emotional" when she learned that prayers could no longer be recited over the PA system. She said the cheerleaders decided to keep it going on their own, and the whole crowd joined in.

"Our community needs God in it, especially at football games. We pray for the safety of each and every player out there and the cheerleaders and the fans for the drive home," she said.

“In that moment the atmosphere was kind of great because it was nothing but heads bowed, and you heard the Lord's Prayer ring over the football field,” said King.

It must have been quite a moment.

And here's the irony. While the outside groups trying to impose their version of secular tyranny were looking to limit prayer, they had the opposite effect. Instead of one person reading Psalm 23 over the PA, there are now hundreds of people reciting it, and receiving an enhanced spiritual charge from a wonderful act of civil disobedience.

Contrary to what you've heard, there is no legally mandated 'separation' of religion and state, and that entire belief is based on a couple of highly questionable decisions from the ultra-Left Warren Court. But for those of you whom claim there is, here's a test.

If you think reading a Judeo-Christian prayer over a PA system at a non-mandatory school event is 'unconstitutional', do you feel the same way about the adhan, the Muslim call to prayer? That consists of a statement of Islam's superiority and other religion's inferior status broadcast publicly through PA systems at often earsplitting volume where people are forced to listen to it even if they are non-Muslims.

Funny thing...I haven't heard of any letters to mosques telling them to ditch broadcasting the adhan...not even so much as one threat of an ACLU lawsuit, have you? The muscular secularists at the ACLU or the Freedom From Religion Foundation seem to have plenty of courage when it comes to Judeo-Christian practices and institutions, but somehow they aren't lining up to file suits against mosques that are openly even more intrusive when it comes to broadcasting their religious beliefs in the public sphere.

If you're going to go after Oneida High School and not the mosques and their minarets, that is selective enforcement, a polite name for bigotry. It really is that simple.

Great In Uniform - Israel's Special Needs IDF Volunteers

An inside look at Israel's program for special needs volunteers for the IDF, in a country where every human life has importance and everyone's contribution is valued.

An IDF story...one of my friends relayed to me a tale about one of Israel's elite units, where applicants endured rigorous physical testing to see if they qualified. One of the applicants drove himself to the point of physical exhaustion and passed out during the tests.

Instead of being a washout, the applicant who fainted was accepted. As the sergeant in charge told him, strength and stamina, we can build up. But the ruach (spirit) to continue past the breaking point is something that is much harder to find. By giving his all, that applicant proved to us he was worthy of being selected.

Whoa! Sarah Palin Chops Matt Lauer Up For Moose Chili!

Always a joy to see the Arctic Fox in action. Here she spikes Matt Lauer's 'ooh the president apologized' drivel and his attempt to make up his own facts on ObamaCare attempt right down his throat. 50,000,000 plus in cancelled policies doesn't equal 5% of America's population, now does it?

Keep in mind that this was supposed to be an interview on her new book, not an ambush..and it's hysterically funny how she turns the tables on him.

Yet Another Example Of How Israel And Israelis Are Different

The Israeli national soccer team was playing a match at Kiev in the Ukraine, and the game made headlines in there and in many other parts of Europe for an interesting reason that had nothing to do with the final score.

As the national anthems were played prior to the game, groups of children wearing UNICEF t-shirts were allowed to stand with the players, something that's common in international matches. August can still be fairly chilly in the Ukraine, and the children were caught in a cold downpour soon after they came on the field.

As the pictures show, the Ukrainian players pretty much ignored the kids shivering in the rain and cold. The Israeli team immediately took off their warmup jackets and tried to shield the kids from the weather.

“I am glad we made the gesture and I hope that all the children returned home safely,” said Israeli soccer star Itay Shechter of the incident.

“When it began to rain during the anthems, we decided to take off our training jackets because we saw that the kids that were with us were freezing from the cold of the strong rain. We immediately decided to place the training jackets on the children so that they would feel a little more cozy and warmer,” another player Eitan Tibi added.

According to Yediot Ahronot the incident prompted media headlines in both Ukraine and Russia criticizing the Ukrainian team. ”The human reflex was to do what the Israeli players did,” wrote one newspaper according to Yediot.

The Israeli team lost the match two to nothing. But I think they won something more important than a soccer game.

Bush 41 Shaves His Head In Support Of 2-Year-Old Cancer Patient

Former President George HW Bush remains a class act.

The child he's holding, Patrick is a 2 year old leukemia patient and the son of one of the men on his Secret Service detail. So what did Bush '41 do? He shaved his head in solidarity with the toddler.

Oh, and so did a lot of the other sides and members of the president's security detail, as they followed the president's example both in shaving their heads and in raising money for the child's treatment.

The Bushes lost their second child, Robin, to leukemia 60 years ago at the age of 4.

Very sweet, and indicative of what kind of men our presidents used to be.

A Marvelous Speech By Dr. Benjamin Carson

Dr. Benjamin Carson, the chief pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore gave this speech at the national prayer breakfast last week with President Obama in attendance. It's created quite a bit of reaction. Needless to say, President Obama stopped looking pleased after about 12 minutes. You'll see why when you listen to what Dr. Carson had to say, particularly about self-reliance, education and healthcare.

By the way, I can vouch for what he had to say about getting rid of TV when it comes to young children. My wife and I did exactly the same thing when our kids were very small, and it was one of the best things we ever did for them.

A Must Read: David Mamet on Gun Control

Award winning playwright, producer and author David Mamet has an excellent article at the Daily Beast  on gun control and tyranny that simply is superb. The Fools of Chelm, by the way, are an old part of Jewish folklore popularized by Isaac Bashevis  Singer, about a town where a group of people lived in perfect amity and content until they started listening to the elites, the so-called Council of Sages. Here's a slice of Mamet's piece:

Karl Marx summed up Communism as “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” This is a good, pithy saying, which, in practice, has succeeded in bringing, upon those under its sway, misery, poverty, rape, torture, slavery, and death.

For the saying implies but does not name the effective agency of its supposed utopia. The agency is called “The State,” and the motto, fleshed out, for the benefit of the easily confused must read “The State will take from each according to his ability: the State will give to each according to his needs.” “Needs and abilities” are, of course, subjective. So the operative statement may be reduced to “the State shall take, the State shall give.”

All of us have had dealings with the State, and have found, to our chagrin, or, indeed, terror, that we were not dealing with well-meaning public servants or even with ideologues but with overworked, harried bureaucrats. These, as all bureaucrats, obtain and hold their jobs by complying with directions and suppressing the desire to employ initiative, compassion, or indeed, common sense. They are paid to follow orders.

Rule by bureaucrats and functionaries is an example of the first part of the Marxist equation: that the Government shall determine the individual’s abilities.

As rules by the Government are one-size-fits-all, any governmental determination of an individual’s abilities must be based on a bureaucratic assessment of the lowest possible denominator. The government, for example, has determined that black people (somehow) have fewer abilities than white people, and, so, must be given certain preferences. Anyone acquainted with both black and white people knows this assessment is not only absurd but monstrous. And yet it is the law.

President Obama, in his reelection campaign, referred frequently to the “needs” of himself and his opponent, alleging that each has more money than he “needs.”

But where in the Constitution is it written that the Government is in charge of determining “needs”? And note that the president did not say “I have more money than I need,” but “You and I have more than we need.” Who elected him to speak for another citizen?

It is not the constitutional prerogative of the Government to determine needs. One person may need (or want) more leisure, another more work; one more adventure, another more security, and so on. It is this diversity that makes a country, indeed a state, a city, a church, or a family, healthy. “One-size-fits-all,” and that size determined by the State has a name, and that name is “slavery.”

The Founding Fathers, far from being ideologues, were not even politicians. They were an assortment of businessmen, writers, teachers, planters; men, in short, who knew something of the world, which is to say, of Human Nature. Their struggle to draft a set of rules acceptable to each other was based on the assumption that we human beings, in the mass, are no damned good—that we are biddable, easily confused, and that we may easily be motivated by a Politician, which is to say, a huckster, mounting a soapbox and inflaming our passions.

Read the rest here. Kol tov, David Mamet!
